Problem extracting Acrobat XI setup.exe file - using WinRAR extractor - "Windows cannot find file...

I have downloaded Adobe Acrobat XI from my university download site (so I know it's a legit, safe copy). When I run the .exe file, even as an administrator, it begins to extract using WinRAR self-extracting archive and stops with a pop-up error:
"Windows cannot find "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\RarSFX0\Adobe Acrobat XI\setup.exe"
I scanned using Malwarebytes, AVG, Spybot, and ran a \scannow command. Nothing finds a corrupt file. Any ideas what could be causing the extractor to not work?
I am running Windows 7 on a 64-bit Dell laptop.

SOLUITION - I had to actually download a version of WinRAR extractor. Right click the downloaded AcrobatXI-Windows.exe file and choose "Open with WinRAR" (this option was not available until I downloaded the WinRAR application - apparently the extractor runs automatically but doesn't have full funtionality). Then I nagivated to the Adobe Acrobat folder in the WinRAR window and selected the setup.exe file to run. It opened and installed beautifully.

If you need to initialize specific files in a new profile then create a template folder in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\defaults\profile\) and place the files in that folder.

X200: Windows cannot find file error (& cygwin problem)

Often (about half the time) when I double click an icon (.docx files typically) to open I get a error reading"Windows cannot find ‘C\Users\username\Desktop\filename.docx’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I can *always* resolve this by simply double clicking again. I ran a complete disk check (the thing that runs on reboot) and it passed with no errors. OS: Vista with all updates, Apps: Office 2007 with all updates. I also wonder if this might be related to the following problem. I have CYGWIN installed, and once I have changed a file in emacs and saved it, emacs can no longer find it (no matter what I do). These days I get the message within emacs "file is not readable", although in the past the error has said something about a fork.

Windows cannot find file

Hi! I'm new to LabVIEW (been using it for 2 months). For some reason, as time goes by (after I install it), LabVIEW crashes more and more often. At the beginning, it crashes (just quit itself and ask if I want to send an error report) once in a while, but would be fine again when I restart LabVIEW or the computer. Today, I edited a sub VI and included in my main VI, then when I ran it, LabVIEW crashes again (and gave me the option to send or not send the error report). I restarted the computer and tried it again, and the same thing happened (NOTE: LabVIEW crashed at a different sub VI that was working properly before, so I don't think it was because I edited a sub VI earllier). I tried it a several time and still the same thing happened. Then I turned off my computer (thinking I might have had it one for too long), and waited about half an hour until I tried it again. This time, when I double click on a VI to open, it took a long time to open LabVIEW and then an error popped up saying "Windows cannot find so-and-so.vi. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search". The worst thing is, after the error popped up, LabVIEW opened the file that was not found.
I'm thinking it might be related to project problems. I had my main VI in a project before, then I deleted the project and the alias file. Could that be it?

Preview Template - windows cannot find file

Hi
While previewing the template from MS Word, it pops up with the following error --
Windows cannot find
D:\..\tmp\271234562718103out.pdf718103out.pdf
When i try to preview it as a PDF, the pdf is located in the temp folder by the name 271234562718103out.pdf but somehow windows is trying to find out 271234562718103out.pdf718103out.pdf and pops up with the error.
How is this file name getting generated? Everytime it appends some of the last characters to the file name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Open the following registry and set the work directory which does not include any spaces:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Oracle\XML Publisher\Template Builder for Word\TB_WORK_DIR
In my case the above Registry Key has the value:
C:\Documents and Settings\p.jain\Local Settings\Application Data\Oracle\BIPublisher\TemplateBuilderforWord
and I changed it to:
C:\DOCUME~1\PAAAB~1.JAI\LOCALS~1\APPLIC~1\ORACLE\BIPUBL~1\TEMPLA~1
and it worked.
I suggest you copy the path from the error which you receive.

BTW I tried using doferent setings in compressor from CBR and VBR I even pushed up the setings to 8 or 9 BR and still no luck !

Let's focus attention on just the Sony. (What model and what resolution are you shooting?)
For now, I'll assume you're shooting 1080i.
Take a representaive clip into a new sequence. Add a title.
In your sequence, make sure field dominance is set to Upper.
Set render settings to Pro Res 422.
After rendering, export QT self contained.
Import into Compressor (I'm now referring to v3.5).
Select the 90 minute Best quality DVD preset.
Open frame controls and turn on (click the gear icon). Set Resize filter to Best.
Submit burn and check quality on TV.

This issue has been reported before by other users, and it turns out it's the effect of malware. In other words, your system is infected. To scan for malware, install, update and run these programs ''in this order''. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that ''not all programs detect the same malware''!

Version XI Cannot Find File USING VBA Shell Command

I open Adobe Reader from an Access VBA Shell command. After upgrading to Version 11, the Reader opens but I get the Error Message. "Cannot Find File".
This was on a Windows 7 Machine running MS Access 2012. I had an older PX with XP and Access 2003 on it, so I ran the program on it with Version 10 and the Reader opened with the
file passed to it using the Shell command. I updated Adobe Reader to XI on the XP machine and I got the "Cannot Find File" message. I went back to the Widows 7 machine anbd removed Version 11 and reinstalled Version 10 and the Shell command worked like it did before. Does anyone know if there is a work a round for the Version 11 error as I have many many customers that may update to Version 11 and my program is not going to work for this particular function.

I use Shell because it has worked for years and it is a build in VBA function and ShellExecute uses Windows API, and I took the easy route.
As I'm sure you know Shell is for exe, com or bat files and ShellExecute enables
the opening of files such as txt, pdf... etc by file association.

The path for AcroRd32.exe is retreived by reading the registry entry "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe\"

If you paste the above command in the CMD shell you get the same result. Reader Opens, but opens with
the message "Cannot Find File".

In the forum I found threads that indicated that if in Security (Enhanced) you had "Enable Protected Mode At Startup"
enabled there were some unpleasant results.
So I turned it off and lo and behold Reader XI with the Shell commandfrom VBA works!
But as a matter of interest I turned it back on and tried the API call ShellExecute, as you so politely suggested,
and...IT WORKED with "Enable Protected mode At Startup" enabled.
I don't understand why Reader XI lets ShellExecute work and not Shell, but I'm happy I have a solution

Are you installing from the official site? http://www.mozilla.com/firefox
If you use Windows Explorer (My Computer) to check that path, is the Mozilla Firefox folder there? That is the normal installation location, but I think it's worth checking.
If the folder isn't there or firefox.exe is not in it, I wonder whether some other software might be interfering. You might want to run some supplemental security scans. These two tools are highly regarded:

Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) Thank you for contacting me, however I already know how to save text to
audio files via timeline using the Export feature.
So my question was not entirely clear and I apologize for that. To explain
further, whenever I save a text to audio file, captivate takes me to a
default save as folder where I then have browse back to my production
folder where I am keeping all my Txt to Aud files. This is very tedious
process when you have alot of files to save. So my question was is there a
way to configure captivate so I can make my production folder the default
file for whenever I save a Txt to Audio file through Export feature that
the system automatically takes me to that production folder, and I am
spared the long tedious process of saving the file manually to the
prodcution folder I want.
I have copy the pathway to the production folder in the URL filed in the
Save As dialoge box and that workaround as cut the work down but I still
have to paste that URL field to point the file to the right folder. So it
would be nice if I could do everything automatically. Microsoft makes this
capability in their MS Office applications, so I was thinking Adobe might
do the same thing. Your help with this would be appreicated,

Log in to icloud.com with your Apple ID. Once you're logged in, click on your name on the upper right corner. Click Advanced and then Reset Photo Stream. This will delete all your photos in the album Photo Stream in your iPhone 4S so make sure you have backed up (copy to Camera Roll or new folder) all those that you want to keep.
This is the only way to do it with iOS 5 (not the beta releases)
