Problem file through Internet Explorer

A few days ago a new file appeared on my computer, it must be some kind of scam because it is a bill for something that I have not subscribed to. I have tried to delete it but whenever I turn the computer back on the next day and connect to the internet it returns. It has a shortcut on my desktop and when I go in to properties it says thst it's target location is the internet.
Does anyone know how I can permanently delete this file from my computer??? Any help would be much appreciated!

I wonder what the source of this file is. Mhhh. check the file properties. There should find a path to the source
However, I would recommend updating the antivirus software and check the HDD for spyware

Activex (.ocx) file does not install unless installed through Internet Explorer

Please fix this Adobe... I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out why it was not installing the activex (.ocx) file when I installed it through firefox or chrome. Low and behold if you install it through Internet Explorer than it installs the activex file. Other programs use the activex (.ocx) file.

It doesn't matter if you download the installers from Firefox, or IE, or whatever browser.
There are two installers:
one for IE that installs the ActiveX control
one for other browsers that installs the plugin

Problems with flash player through internet explorer on MacBook

Here is the problem:
I downloaded internet explorer for mac to use it in some websites that requires this browsers. when I opened the site a pop-up message came out saying that I need flash player plug in so I went to that website of adobe that was suggested using internet explorer but it freezed. so I went to the adobe website and I used Safari this time and I downloaded the flash player installer . I installed it & it was successfull . I went back to use the internet explorer to the earlier website that requires internet explorer and I got the same plug-in required window. I'm new to mac I don't know what to do. help me please.
I have got MacBook Mac OSX 10.6.4

IE for Mac hasn't been supported by microsoft for 7 years. I'm surprised that it works at all. There's probably a conflict between the flash and the browser.
A better way to run IE may be installing windows via crossover, boot camp or vm on your MacBook.

Configured Reverse proxy external tier. We are able to access login page through Mozilla but unable to access through IE8.
Raised SR, but they have reverted saying it's browser problem & not in their scope.

Unable to open pdf files using Internet Explorer and Adobe 9.1

We are unable to open any/all pdf files in Internet Explorer 6 or 7 using Adobe Reader 9.1 on Windows XP SP2.
The error message is that IE has a problem and sorry for the inconvenience.
Clicking "OK" closes IE.
We did not have any issue with Adobe Reader 8.1.
What we did to date:
1. Uninstall Adobe Reader 9.1
2. Run Windows Clean Utility to remove any remnant of Adobe Reader 8
3. Re-install Adobe Reader 9.1
Any other suggestions?
Need to have this upgrade.

I'm having a similar issue. Prior to upgrading to Acrobat 9.1 I was able to view PDFs from IE 6. No longer. Instead I get a message: "Error opening document. File cannot be found."

Unable to open PDF files in Internet Explorer

One of our users has a problem with opening PDF files in Internet Explorer.
Translation:
Adobe PDF-document
There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Close Adobe Acrobat/Read and try again.
The user is using Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard in combination with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6. I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat (under an administrator account), deleted the local user profile and the problem is still there.
Does anyone have an idea about this? The error message doesn't really say what is wrong. Adobe Reader is not installed.

What exactly means "unable"? Do you see a little x in a box on the top left of IE11? If so, this may be the solution: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2716529

I can't get online through firefox (this keeps coming up THE PROXY SERVER IS REFUSING CONNECTIONS) but can through internet explorer?

As I said in the question when I click on the firefox link on the desktop this is what comes up (THE PROXY SERVER IS REFUSING CONNECTIONS Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections) but I can get connected through Internet Explorer. I have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled firefox with no difference.

I tried all that stuff and none of it helped. I can't load any of the google applications in firefox now. They pop up with this screen.

mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it was issued by an invalid CA certificate. (Error code: sec_error_inadequate_key_usage)
Now I tried a couple of other sites and they all seemed to work okay, and if necessary I could click understand the risks and still access the site, but no go with google. Considering I use my google account for my calendar and gmail a lot, I am highly disappointed with this new update. I hate using IE and really prefer to use Firefox.

Unable to use all the feature of my email service (Juno on the web) like; font size/color, bolding, italics, highlighting etc why? Those features work through Internet Explorer but not Firefox.

When I go to my Juno on the web through Firefox, I am unable to use the tool features such as:
Font size / Color
Bolding
Italics
Bullets
Highlighting
just to name a few. Yet when I bring it up through Internet Explorer these features work, plus the way Firefox reads my Juno the tabs are distorted (the page is not formatted correctly, I contacted Juno they said I should contact my modem company AT& T they said no so you are my last resort.. Please help resolve my issue, THANK YOU in advance for assisting with this matter.

It is up to Juno to enable Midas, the Rich Text Editor which is built into Firefox, with one little line of code on every web page that has RTE for IE. There's nothing that you can do to turn that feature on your self, it has to be coded on each web page that has Rich Text Editing.

Their ignorance probably lies with their staff programmers only knowing how to do it for IE ''(their training and certificates are probably from the Microsoft cabal)'', and not realizing that Gecko and WebKit apps each have their own Rich Text Editor's, which require their own small line of code to enable those Editor's.

Will not open anymore, asking is I want to open file in Internet Explorer.

I was upgrading my firefox to 5.0 and after that my comuter told me a had a virus threat. I pressed: to put the treat in the "vault" for further dicition, and it starded to remove the threat instead. When it was done and I tried to start firefox again it didn't work. I tried to download it again but it won't start it. It keeps asking me if I want to open the file in "Internet explorer". even if I go to "all progams" and click on it there it wont open. What can I do to make it work agan??? Do I have to delete it and reinstall everything??? The window I had open is still working but I cannot open another window. I really like firefox so I want to fix it!

I would guess the plugin is enabled since when I use Foxfire as my browser, all pdfs download and are readable. (just doesn’t happen when I use IE as my browser, I get a blank screen with a small “x” in the upper left corner)

I don't think there is a way to open a file as read only using Client_Host. But i can give you another suggestion. Change the permission of the file to readonly (may be using chmod command) before opening the file in the browser.

Open the QuickTime control panel to Browser>Mime Settings>Images-Still image files and select TIFF image then click-ok apply ok. You want to do this without the browser running. If this doesn't help you may want to post a website with the TIFF, for myself or others to try

Can't exit pdf file in internet explorer.

When I open a pdf file in internet explorer, I an unable to exit the pdf file. The only way I can get out of it is by shutting down internet explorer. I am using internet explorer 11 with windows 7. Is there a way to resolve this issue??

Are you trying to open a PDF in a 64-bit version of Internet Explorer?
If you don't know how to see the version - In Internet Explorer, choose Help > About Internet Explorer. (In some versions of Internet Explorer, select the Question mark in the upper-right corner to select About Internet Explorer).
To switch to the 32-bit Internet Explorer, first exit 64-bit Internet Explorer. Then double-click the program icon for the 32-bit version: C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
