Problem finding a data source
Hello, i tried to install the datasource in business content but i am not able to find it. I go under Business content then click on datasource and put "0FI_GL_20". it says none found. please let me know how to find and install it. thanks.
Hi,
If you want to install any datasource from BI content, you have to follow the steps:----
Step 1: Install from RSA5 in R/3 system and Activate them
Step 2: Do Post-processing of Datasources like Selection of fields etc.,
Step 3: Now you can see your Datasource under BI contenet tab in BI system
Hope you know the further steps..........

Suman

Can't Find the Data source 0GLACCEXT_T011_HIER
Hi,
i am working with B I 7.0, ECC 6.0.
Trying to Implement Balance Sheet for New General Ledger Account.
I can't Find the Data source for the Hierarchy 0GLACCEXT_T011_HIER
But Info object 0GLACCEXT is available and
i find the Infosource 0GLACCEXT ,but this is 3.5 version.
I check some SAP notes
663945 -- Transfer Rules for 0GLACCEXT Info object
<b>but My B I Content is 703</b>
Do I need to follow this SAP note ?
I had check this Link Too, but I uable to solve my problem
Re: 0GLACCEXT vs 0GL_ACCOUNT - How it is USED?
any Idea
Thanks
PrasannaPam,
BI 7 does not support hierarchy datasources. For implementing hierarchies (BI 7), you have to use BW 3.X infosources/transfer rules.
Hope that helps.

GuptaHi,
Try Installing Application Component Hierarchies
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/b3/c30a0e9c44204eb596c6353c827d2e/frameset.htm
Use RSA9 for this.
Hope this helps.

How to find the Data source name on linux server
Hello All,
Good Morning...
I created a rpd in my local machine and deployed on the server through Fusion middle ware.
and copied the catalog file there in the server.
While working on my local machine I have two odbc connections... one is for development and other is for production.
at the time of deployment to the server I changed the development instance to production instance throught the connection pool.
I am encountering the following error while working on the analyis....
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
Error Details
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: IM002 code: 0 message: [DataDirect][ODBC lib] Data source name not found and no default driver specified. (HY000)
I think this is because of the mismatch of the datasource name in server and my local machine...could you please tell me how to find the datasource names on the server?
Thanks!Hi Dpka-
I created two ODBC connections in my system.
one for development and another for Production.
while deploying the rpd to the server I changed the development login credentials with production login.
The problem here is I just want to know whether Iam giving the same datasource name which was presented on the server or not.
I don't have access to the server now.
Is there any way to find out the datasource names which were presented on the server with the help of admin console?
Thanks! -
Problem with the data source and web.xml
I have an issue where JSC is removing my resource reference:
<resource-ref>
<description>Creator generated DataSource Reference</description>
<res-ref-name>jdbc/localOracleDatabase</res-ref-name>
<res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
<res-auth>Container</res-auth>
</resource-ref>
from the web.xml and sun-web.xml.
The application has been working great in the IDE for months then wham, no more data source definition. I try and add the reference manually and the IDE takes it out. I am "NOT" adding it to the .xml's in the build area. Why is JSC removing the data source entry? This continues to be a problem. The only way that I can get around the problem is to drag a table from the data source onto the design pallete and then the datasource is added back to the web.xml. I can run fine for 10 or 15 runs then the entry is once again removed from the web.xml.
Help please! -
How to find out data source for a datawindow?
I have a datawindow and I want to identify it's datasource.
I open this datawindow in pb. then in design menu, Data Source is disabled. It means not direct sql
Then I go to Column Specific(small window), and right click on any space, in the popup menu, there is no 'Stored Procedure...'. It means not procedure.
(see screeshot attached)
then how to find out the data source for this datawindow?Hi Kent;
1) I would use the RHMB on the DWO in the System Tree and select the "Edit Source" option.
2) In the DWO source, locate the "TABLE ( ...." line
3) If the next major line starts with "DATA(...." then this is an external DWO.
4) If the next major line starts with "Retrieve(...." then this is a normal DWO (SQL or SP based).
5) If the next major line starts with "webservice=(WSDL...." then this is a Web Service based DWO.
Note: if your DWO has no #3, 4 or 5, then its external.

Capture encountered a problem reading the data source tape .
FCP 4.5
SONY DSR-20 deck
dual 1.5GHZ
There are sound drop-outs on my source NTSC mini-dv tapes
the time-code looks pretty steady in the DSR-20 deck display
however i keep getting the following message when i try to digitize:
"Capture encountered a problem reading the data on your source tape.
This could be due to a problem with the tape. Capture has been aborted
and your clip has been saved"
I've tried setting Device Control to "Non-Controllable Device" and trying to capture video ONLY [the drop-out is mainly in the sound] which has generally solved this problem in the past but to no avail.
The same message comes up.
I realize my source tapes are messed up but how to work around it?
any advice please !
thank youThe most direct work-around is to play your DV tape through the analog outs on some device and to bring the signal into a a/dv converter and to capture using 'capture now/non-controllable device'
I'm doing this as I write. A student, who did not know any better, recorded on LP mode and the timecode (and recording in general) is nearly unusable. This is the only way I've been able to get it into the system. It ain't pretty but you will have the material.
You are correct when you inquire that there will be no time code and the material will take a 2 conversion hit.
Good luck.

Problem while transporting Data Source
I get error while transport datasource from DEV to PROD:
DataSource <DS> does not exist in source system <PRD_SYSTEM> of version A
Field <XXXX> will not be delivered from DataSource <DS> in source system <PRD_SYSTEM>
What does it mean? Do I need to activate <DS> datasource in source system PRD_SYSTEM?Hi
1. Transport the Datasource from D to P system in R/3.
2. Replicate the corresponding R/3 Sorce system in BW Production system.
3. Right click on the datasource overview and check whether ur data source is available or not.
4. If available then transport all the required info objects first from BW Dev to Prod System.
5. Then transport your Infosource and other objects.
This way will be fine.
This error normally will occur when the data source is not replicated and the required info objects are not transported to the Prod system from Dev system.

But when we are creating the datasource with thin type of driver, it is working fine. We have already created a driver with name ORACLE_DRIVER in server using the ojdbc14.jar using Netweaver administrator consol.
Same this is happening when we are creating the OCI type of datasource by using Netweaver administrator consol by specifying all the parameter as above and also the initial connection pool size is more than zero.
Same thing is happening for normal (JDBC 1x) datasource creation with OCI type driver.Hello,
I ran a search on SDN, related to your error code, i found the following:
UnsupportedClassVersionError in NWDS CE
DeploymentWarning-WebService-Collection

Problem creating new data sources
hi -- I've just created a file DSN data source (Microsoft ODBC for Oracle Driver), and in Crystal, have used the ODBC (RDO) data source type, pointing to the file DSN. (I'm accessing an Oracle 10g database on a Unix server.)
The connection to the database is successful, but when I use the Database Expert to pick the actual object (eg table) that I want the report to access, I get the following strange results:
Not all schemas are visible
For the schemas that are visible, only stored procedures are shown. No tables, views, or anything else.
When I create an Oracle Server data source, all schemas and their objects are visible. The report works fine.
Can someone explain to me why the File DSN is not showing me all schemas and objects?
Thanks,
CarolAll -- Thanks for your suggestions. I probably should have given you more information up front:
- I've already updated the database using Set Datasource Location.
- I've already verified that the database explorer is including views and tables
and is not restricting based on LIKE.
- I did as Sourashree suggested and created a system DSN -- it also only shows
me the stored procedures.
I have successfully created a non-ODBC data source just using the Crystal Reports
data source type of Oracle Server. It works just fine -- tables, views, everything I need
shows up in the explorer. So, my question about the File DSN is really just academic,
out of curiousity (I struggled with it so long I'd like to know why it doesn't work!).
If you can help me out, that would be great. But I see no reason the Oracle Server
data source won't meet our needs.
Thanks,
Carol
