Problem Finding Old Data

I have an iPod Touch 5th generation and I've had for a couple years now. Recently, I had to reset my iPod because I forgot the password. I followed the procedure to help me solve the problem, which is to plug my device in and restore it. Everything went fine when I restored it, however at the end of the process my iTunes wasn't working and I had to end it (I have a windows 8 PC) My device was already restored, unfortunately I accidentally set it as a new iPod and all my data was gone. I managed to download some apps because I had family sharing, but the rest of my old data (ex. photos, contacts, in app purchases) was no where to be seen. I was pretty sure however before I set my new iPod, my old data was somehow transferred to iTunes. My only issue is where exactly my data went. Please help, thank you very much!!!

Try restoring from backup
How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I couldn't find a property node for cearing the Cursor List. Does anyone have a suggestion how to tackle that. Cursor Nr. 0 , must not be owerwritten, its maintaned as the point cursor to go thrue the graph samples.!

    The Supreme Thinker Answers:
the first time the vi runs and finds relevant data, the cursor list grows to accept the new data dependent cursors.
I changed the vi in such a way to extract the first cursor from the list (the one you want to keep), create an array with this cursor as the only element and then feed the array (the new starting cursor list) to the shift register. In the loop, your vi adds all new data dependent cursors.
Don't fear, Zamzam, Supreme Thinking is at your hand!. Just a few more work, study and experience!

  • I'm moving an internal hard drive from an old computer to a new computer.  How do I transfer the catalog data to my new computer so the Organizer of Photoshop Elements 6 will find the data on the hard that has been moved to the new computer?

I'm moving an internal hard drive from an old computer to a new computer.  (My new compute runs Windows 8.1) How do I transfer the catalog data to my new computer so the Organizer of Photoshop Elements 6 will find the data on the hard that has been moved to the new computer?  Is this possible or do I have to use the procedure of copying the catalog along with the photos to a back up hard drive and then restore them on the new computer?

The 'normal' procedure is to do a PSE organizer backup (not a copy or a backup from external tools) to an external drive, then a restore to the new location.
The advantage is that you have a backup of both catalog and media files and you don't have all disconnected files, which would happen with external backup tools. Also, if you restore with a more recent elements version, the catalog will be automatically updated to the new format.
The drawback in your situation is that you'll have either to overwrite all your files or restore to a custom location, creating a duplicate photo library (which supposes you have enough free space).
It would be possible to simply use the organizer in the old PC to move the catalog to a new 'custom' folder just under your C: root drive. The catalog would be accessible once the drive will be installed in the new PC. Then you would have all files 'disconnected' due to the fact that all your media files are now on a drive with a different letter. Reconnecting a whole library is a hard job with PSE6, less so with PSE11/PSE12.
If the idea of fiddling with the sqlite database with external sqlite manager tools is ok for you, I can describe the process more in detail. You only copy your catalog folder (as suggested above) to another location. Instead of trying the 'reconnection' way, you install the sqlite utility on the new computer. When the old drive is installed in the new computer, you simply edit a given record in the catalog database, catalog.psedb, and start the organizer with your copied catalog by simply double clicking the 'catalog.psedb' file.
Even if the last solution is much, much quicker, I would still create a new PSE backup : you have never too much safety .

I HAVE OLD iPHONES BACKED UP.  how do i find the data and recover or delete dups and junk

You can't see the data inside the backup, and you can't restore just part of the data if that's what you're asking. To see the data you have to restore the entire backup.

To back up your data, either use Target Disk Mode and a cable from another Mac (which mounts your problem Mac as an external disk of the other Mac) and Disk Utility on that other Mac, or — and this is all assuming you either have a slow Internet connection and don't want to use Internet Recovery, or if you have an older Mac that doesn't support Internet Recovery — you can create a bootable USB key disk on another Mac and then boot your problematic Mac from that keydisk, then use Disk Utility from the installer to make a backup to another (external) (scratch) disk.  You can also use that keydisk to reinstall OS X, to repair or to reinstall OS X.

  • TS1702 I changed my ID, now i have problem to up date the apps I purchased with old ID. What soul i do?

I changed my ID, now i have problem to up date the apps I purchased with old ID. What shoul i do?

Depends on what you mean by "changed", if edited your account on appleid.apple.com to use a different email then just ignore that fact it shows the old email and use your current password.
If you created a new appleid then those old apps will always stay associated with the old id, in that case you can only update them with the old password or uninstall them and then redownload them and they will be linked to your current id
    cheers

  • Can't find my data from Time Machine network backup

Migration assistant shows inconsistent sizes for applications, computer settings and other files/folders, about 30GB when I had 270 GB only in pictures.
I did a clean Mavericks install.
How do I find my data from the TimeMachine network backup?
The size of the TimeMachine backup is consistent with what I had before ( >300 GB)...so how do I recover it?.
I'm using a new user account name in the clean installation.
    Thanks

Read a few threads about this being a problem with account access, so I renamed the account in my new installation to the account name used to create the backup and found the old accounts....now when trying to proceed it told me there was a conflict with the account name and i had to use a different one!!.
Apple has stopped to be simple...
So how are we suppose to use the migration assistant if either way there is a problem? ( using same or different account name )...

  • Old Data/Passwords

I understand this might not be the easiest thing. I want to get all of my old bookmarks from my firefox old data folder. Are they there? Is this possible? How do I transfer them?
Firefox stored my passwords. Is there anyway to recover this master file from the old data folder?
I am not sure why the old firefox crashed. The new one works great. This is all the information I really want from the old data.

Such an Old Firefox Data folder on the desktop gets created when you reset Firefox.<br />
If you reset Firefox then Firefox should have automatically imported your data like bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data.
    Hasn't this happened in your case?<br />
What kind of problems did you have that you reset Firefox?
You need to copy the two files signons.sqlite and key3.db (encryption key; master password) to the current Firefox profile folder to move over the names and passwords.<br />
For the bookmarks you can either copy the places.sqlite file or use one of the JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder.

  • Datepicker remembers old date in form

I use Apex 3.2 and have an issue with the Date picker, using a Database Column as source
I want to edit an existing item on a form with a Date Picker. The current date is f.e. 2011-12-30. I want to change this to 2012-05-16.
For this, I open the Date Picker in my form and chose my new date (2012-05-16) and the date picker closes. Lets I assume I made a mistake and want to select 2012-05-17. I will open the datepicker again to adjust the date 1 day. However the month and year selected in the data picker is again the old date 2011 and 12, when I would expect it to be 2012 and 5. So I need to select the right month and year again.
Is there a way to load the date picker, so the date picker is loaded with the correct month and year?

Entries for the location bar are stored in the places.sqlite file.
Form data for web pages and for the search bar are stored in the formhistory.sqlite file.
You shouldn't see old data appearing once you delete this file, so if this does happen then make sure to delete the file in the correct location.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

  • Spotlight won't find old (immigrated) files

    Hi all!
I just recognized that spotlight isn't finding files that were not created on the
actual Mac. I copied lots of folders like clients data etc. to my new Mac when I
switched from my last PPC G5 to the Mac Pro two weeks ago.
Spotlight now works like a charm with all the files created on the MP or some of
the old ones but 98% of my data were just completely ignored by spotlight.
I tried to solve it by reindexing spotlight with the privacy trick, the terminal
and by deleting the -v100 file. Nothing worked out. It's always the same: It just
won't find my old data. I hope you guys can help me out! I installed Easyfind to
exclude the fact that the files are invalid or have wrong permissions or anything
but this small programm is doing it's job without any problems (or indexing) and
a lot faster than spotlight would do.
...but still I want my spotlight to work properly. PLEASE HELP!

The old Apple FindFile used to do it all. Quickly, simply, and reliably. Then someone started taking the funny pills.
A while ago I used Spotless to totally disable Spotlight, remove its index, and then I used Onyx to remove that annoying magnifying glass from the menu bar.
Then I used OneKey to map my F9 key to open EasyFind.
I'm able to do productive work at last without wasting time

  • Help!! Trying to writing an array to a file without having to rewrite the old data every time.

    Hey Everyone,
I have a vi that takes a 2D array and writes it to an xml file. The purpose for this is to characterize the pathloss through a dowkey 10x10 matrix at varies frequencies. I use this program to create a look-up table for the switch matrix so when I conduct one of my automated tests I can obtain an accurate measurment. The problem with this is I am taking about 299 data points per switch matrix combination leading me to over 32000 data points in the look-up table. The reason I use xml is because each data point needs a header so I can parse through the look-up table with another one of my vi's when I need that pathloss. What I am trying to fix is that when my vi writes to a file it writes one array at a time to save memory space. When it writes it rewrites the old data then the new data. As the number of data points increase so does the lag time to write to the file. By the time I am done it takes about five hours to fully write to the file. Does anyone know of a way to write continuesly write to a file without having to rewrite all of the old data? Attached is my vi for writing to the file, my vi for searching through the file, and an example of one of my look-up tables.
    Thanks,
    Dustin

The only way to do that is to only append to the end of your file.  This would probably require some rewriting of your header information.
