  • What is defference between updating Firmware via P...

I'm N85 user and I want to know What is defference between updating Firmware via PC an Via Device manager on phone?

Firmware updates are usually released via one method or the other, rarely via both.
The NSU method downloads entire ROM images from Nokia's servers, resulting in downloads of more than 100MB in some cases.
The FOTA method only downloads what has changed from the version running on your phone to the latest version available. This means much less data to download, usually around 4-6 megabytes, which is important if you don't have access to a wireless network and have to use your operator's packet data service.
The FOTA method is safer (because it doesn't involve a computer running a notoriously flaky operating system) and faster (because there's less data to download).
Otherwise, the end result is the same.

  • Problem with update Firmware and Fax with m276nw

    Hi
First of all sorry for my english...
    I have two problems
    1) I can't update the printer in wirelless mode, I mean the update program (version 2014-08-05 , Version 20140718, 12.05M) and the printer work but finally the printer is not updated.
    How can i do it?
    2) I'd prefer to forward fax in email or in alternative I'd want to read in a web interface. In this case I have a suggestion: An update could be the way.
    Thx
    P.S. Sorry again

    Hello @Compyweb,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today in resolving the firmware update issue and the fax forward to email issues that you're experiencing on your HP Laserjet Pro 200 Colour MFP M276nw. I understand that you have been trying to update your printers firmware via the wireless connection but your printer does not want to do that. I'm going to provide you further instruction on how to properly update the firmware.
    How to Properly Update Firmware:
It is best to update firmware through a USB Cable connection. This is because the firmware update will reprogram your printer. Sometimes with wireless connections there can be intermittent communication. If the firmware update is interrupted in any way while the printer is being updated it can cause a programming failure on your printer. If this occurs you most likely would need a printer replacement. Also, a firmware update gets sent to your printer much like a print job. Therefore, you need to ensure that you do no have any print jobs in queue waiting to print before you update the firmware.
What I would suggest doing is running the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. If you run this tool and select 'fix printing' than the tool will run a scan on your computer and ensure that the connection, software and driver are all properly setup. If the HP Print and Scan Doctor identifies any issues it will attempt to resolve them for you. I suggest installing the printer for USB connection before running this tool as you want to run the firmware update through USB.
    HP Print and Scan Doctor
Once you run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool and get the all clear that everything is set up properly than you can run the firmware update. Please click on the following link for the proper firmware download:
HP LaserJet Pro Series Firmware Update Utility
Once the utility is downloaded, you want to run the tool and send the firmware to the printer. The printer may turn itself off at the end of the update, just turn the printer back on if it doesn't turn on automatically.
In terms of wanting to forward faxes to email or an alternative option like receiving faxes in a folder on your computer, these are not options that you have with your HP Laserjet Pro 200 Colour MFP M276nw. As the specs for your model printer: LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw Specs indicate you only have the option to send faxes from a computer.
Should you still want to receive faxes to your email you could check out the third party service: Efax
However, I believe you may have to pay for this service. Also, should you have any issues with the Efax service HP does not support this on your product. That means that if you need technical support for efax you need to speak with efax regarding this. For further information regarding Efax, please visit: Efax: Easy faxing anywhere
Please let me know if this information resolves your issues. Good luck!

  • SSD's which are OK for updating firmware on a Mac?

I'm looking at a couple SSD's for a MacPro, any thoughts on which are OK with updating firmware on a Mac? Probably better to ask now before I need to..
Crucial M500 or Samsung 840 Pro?  I'm assuming that OWC's offerings are probably the best for Mac compatiblity, any others?
    thanks in advance.

Firstly there is a near identical question about setup of just days ago that hopefully you found and looked at in your research.
System on SSD / scratch for CS6 / projects
Lloyd's blog is full of tips: http://www.macperformanceguide.com
Start with what SSD (single) then get into multiple and setup and apps and how they are used, which really might be first thing to ask?
The Pro uses highest quality but both have much of the same controller and firmware - and it was just reviewed as to what the diference is. Find and read that.
Rick over on MacGurus setup an old working model for PS: a scratch disk + working project files is the fastest - was done with SCSI and then the first 10K SATA Raptor. Probably still holds true.
No you are not limited - I strongly suggest you set it up on Sonnet Tempo Pro RAID card and then use one 250GB 840 to start with, then add 2nd. Use one of the PCIe slots for your SSD(s). Maybe start with a 500GB.
Maybe use JBOD to combine two but not in RAID0.
The system can go on SATA II drive bay or optical bay.
Is there a one size fits all or to say this is the only way? of course not, you can though test and try and work with your budget, your Mac and move SSD to  where it does the most good.
Samsung starts mass producing PCIe SSDs with 1400MB/s read speeds
When the new MacBook Air got the teardown treatment... a new SSD.
The new drive is known as the XP941 and Samsung will offer it in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB configurations. It achieves read speeds of 1,400MB/s, which clocks it at 2.5x faster than a SATA SSD. It also only weighs 6 grams and measures 80 x 22mm. Samsung claims it only takes up a 7th of the space occupied by a typical 2.5-inch SSD.

    Samsung 840 Pro and Samsung 840 Solid State Drives Reviewhttp://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/storage/display/samsung-840-pro.html  [06/07/13 | Storage ]
Samsung currently offers very interesting solid state drives. Some boast outstanding performance, others – are built with inexpensive TLC NAND and come with a very appealing price tag. And our tests prove all of this: we are ready to discuss what we saw when we got our hands on a Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB and Samsung 840 250 GB drives.
From last September, StorageReview article 840 vs 840 Pro - they were my favorite review site for storage for years.

    Second only to TechReport
    http://techreport.com/review/23990/samsung-840-pro-series-ssd-reviewed
X-bitlabs is also one of my popular stops and they look at Sandisk
    http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/storage/display/sandisk-ultra-plus.html
I am sold on Samsung though and feel the 840 will do fine for me, but I would use $$ to get Sonnet Tempo SSD or Pro from OWC.

  • ADF and MSSQL 2005 problems - FOR UPDATE clause allowed only for DECLARE C

    Hi all.
I have a legacy application which uses MS SQL server 2000 / 2005. I've started to build up a new version of this application using JDev + ADF stack.
Everything went ok until I've tried to update some data in a Form. I'm getting this error:
com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Line 1: FOR UPDATE clause allowed only for DECLARE CURSOR
Can someone figure out what's wrong?
    1) In a MSSQL server connection string, normally we define the 'SelectMethod' parameter to 'cursor', as follows: jdbc:sqlserver://$host$:$port$;databaseName=dbserver;SelectMethod=cursor
Since I was not able to do this through my project's 'Application Resources > Connections' screen, I could not evaluate if this is the cause
    2) I'm trying to follow the steps of an Oracle tutorial (http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/ps1/ria_application/developriaapplication_long.htm#ad), of course using MS SQL server instead of Oracle, and using some master->detail tables like the example suggests (in the tutorial, I've reached the step 11, then tried to update a record, which causes the mentioned exception)
    Follows the stacktrace:
<Utils><buildFacesMessage> ADF: Adding the following JSF error message: Line 1: FOR UPDATE clause allowed only for DECLARE CURSOR.
com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Line 1: FOR UPDATE clause allowed only for DECLARE CURSOR.

    Regards,
    Luciano S. Lorencini, SCJP, SCWCD

So, I`ve created a test project and use the MSSQL flavor to create my Business Components.
After repeated all the steps, the error did not happen again.
But some strange behavior happen: I change some data and click the "Submit" button. The changed data appears ok in screen, but the changes were not committed in database!
Do I need to explicitly tell ADF to commit that changes somewhere?
    Greetings,

  • Linksys srw2048 unable to update firmware via xmodem (using hyperterm)

I have three srw2048 series switches at my new job. One updated fine via the web interface the other two (after I found a windows machine to use the web interface) looked as though they were uploading the new file but after a reboot I was still on the old verison. So I broke out the console cable. What I have done is to Download Software to the switch (option 1) this kicks me over into xmodem. Once I am in xmodem I choose to send a file (the latest rom) using the 1K Xmodem protocol it immediately gives me retries and errors until it reaches a threshold that ends the session. During this whole process zero k is transferred.
    Boot Version 1.0.0.04
    Software Version 1.0.0.49
    Hardware Version 00.03.10
The only thing I can think is that I must need older files to upgrade to an intermediary version before loading the latest 1.22 rom file.

You might want to pose this question in the Linksys forums at http://homecommunity.cisco.com/
Also, try another terminal program like Teraterm Pro.  Maybe it needs "classic" xmodem?

  • Problems since updated firmware

I updated the firmware on my Blackberry to 5.0.0.592.
I've got the Blackberry 8520 & my carrier is Virgin.
Ever since I updated I've had the following problems:
    - When I change my theme it changes the wallpaper to the default wallpaper of that theme but when I press the blackberry button and go to the menu the background is that of the previous theme I had.
The only way to get rid of this I discovered is to revert the theme to it's initial settings.
    - Second problem is that the media folder has completely disappeared.
It's not hidden, I've checked that. When I go into the Downloads folder I have Music, Video & Pictures.
Thanks in advance for you help.

I've now come across another problem:
I can only browse the internet whilst within Wi-Fi range

  • Problem when updating firmware on Time Capsule

    Hello,
For some reason I cannot update my Time Capsule's firmware. The update starts but is then stop and the dialog that appears refers to an unexpected problem. On one occasion the number "54" was in the dialog as well. Any idea anyone on how to solve this?
    BR/Anders

Cannot say I have ever seen one fail..
Reset the TC to factory.. full factory reset.. hold in the reset button and power on the TC.. keep holding for 10-15 sec until the front LED flashes rapidly.
Ensure the TC has a good direct internet connection. You do not get the firmware first, like most routers.. the TC pulls the firmware down itself.
On Lion use 5.6 utility.. the version in Lion is for toyland. Ignore it completely.

    5.6 is a tool. A utility.. !!

  • Problem when updating firmware on n93i

i bought a n93i on ebay last month. the phone is from Finland and i am in the US. then i found out they have newer firmware on my phone so i try to update it. in the middle of updating it was disconnected by the pc or the program. then the dialog box said i have to remove the battery and plug in again and then start the phone again. but it still couldnt connect it and now the phone only has the nokia logo in the front display when it is on and nothing on the main display. how can i fix it? do i have to send it back to Finland? the nokia here says they can't do anything about it because the phone is made in Finlad and the model is not supported in the US. please someone help me.

Thats one of main pitfalls of importing phones (and most other electronic goods) from another country, you do not get a warranty. If anything goes wrong then most of the time there is nothing that you can do.
Nokia's that were made in Finland can be found all over the world and the warranty is only valid in the country that it was designed to be sold in, except for Europe where the warranty is valid in all European countries.
Your last hope of fixing it yourself is to read this thread:
