  • Music video into itunes

okay I have a music video that I didn't get from itunes because itunes doesn't have it but I am unable to get the video into my playlist the only place it is willing to go is in the movies playlist. I am trying to get it into the music videos smart playlist but I dont know how. Anyone have any thoughts?

Select the video and open the Get Info window (right click -> Get info or File -> Get info). Select the "Options" tab. Use the drop down "Media Kind" selection to change it from movie to music video.

  • How Do I Get Home Videos into iTunes?

I have 6 home videos that I want to put into iTunes....both the iTunes library on the hard drive and the iTunes app.  I had them in there but for some reason they got mixed up and I deleted them. I have the copies so how do I get them into the iTunes library on my hard drive and into the itunes app so I can look at them.
It is such a mess and I'm trying to make my question as simple as possible.  Here is one thing that happens...when  I tried to put the videos into iTunes they went into a folder called Home Videos.  But there is no folder on iTunes called Home Videos....it is called Movies which is where the videos were before.  There is no place for me to access a folder called Home Videos because there isn't one.  And, If I access the old Movie Folder it is empty.  The Movie folder is permanent....put there by iTunes so I can't delete it and add add one called Home Videos.
Can anyone straighten out this mess?  The only good news is that I still have copies of the home videos...they were not deleted.

Drag them into the library folder.

  • I need help getting this video into itunes and on my ipod.

i don't know if this is possible...
the band the films have a new music video "black shoes" on their website. www.the-films.com i got it on my computer and it plays as a movie in quicktime, but i can't figure out how to get it into itunes and on my ipod, if that's possible. i tried to open it in imovie and i couldn't get that to work either. any help would be awesome. thanks.

To get it into iTunes go to file-->add to library and find the file.
Try opening quicktime and open the file. Does it play there? It has to be able to play in QT otherwise iTunes will not accept it.

  • Getting Music Videos Into the Playlist

I got some music videos off some of my Enhanced CDs and I got them into iTunes and on my iPod. Now I want to know how I can get these to go into the Music Video playlist and not the Video playlist.

Real easy. Forgive me because I'm not in front of itunes right now but...
with the video selected, get info (apple-i) and the dialog box comes up that lets you label the video as you wish. one of those tabs (from memory, i think it's options?) has the pull down for movies or music videos - that's where you select music videos...
as of now i think that's the only way to organize any kind of video "by artist" but i might be wrong. on that.
    good luck

  • Can't get any videos into itunes

I have a few that were already there, but I have some new shows I have converted to Mp4 and I can't get them to import into iTunes. Any idea why they won't import?

I'm having the same problem. I've got 2 test videos: 1 from handbrake using the iPhone settings and the other is a quick movie recorded in iMovie and exported to iPod.
When I try to drag them into iTunes the cursor changed to the green "+" but nothing happens. I've also tried going through File>Add to Library... with similar the same lack of result.
    iTunes is 7.4.2 freshly re-installed.

  • Computer Crashed, how do I get music back into itunes w/o erasing Ipod?

My computer crashed, and I had to get a new hard drive. I was able to save all of my music on cd, and it is all still currently on my Ipod. I have downloaded Itunes again, but how do I upload all the music on my ipod into Itunes without it automatically erasing my Ipod when I plug it in? Am I able to save my play lists when I reload my music to Itunes?
    Dell PC   Windows XP

If you are using the iPod in manual update mode it is safe from being accidentally erased when you connect to an empty iTunes after reinstalling your operating system. However if your iPod is set to automatically update you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual.
You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box: Managing Your Songs Manually
While you can't sync your music back from an iPod to iTunes, if you want to check this out, there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the files from an iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward and will copy songs and playlists.
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.

  • Trouble putting music videos into iTunes [please help]

I've already converted 9 music videos. And I've been successful in getting 5 of them on my iPod and they play fine. They all are in the correct MPEG4 format, and I've tried everything I can think of to get the remaining 4 on my iTunes.. I've dragged the files from the folder which they are in to my open iTunes, doesn't work.. I've gone through File and Import File as well as Import Folder, and nothing seems to work to get the remaining 4 videos on there. Any ideas as to what I should do?

I don't know about your specific issue, but I was able to figure out 'kinda' what's wrong. After looking extensively in other forums and posts I was able to figure out that if you can't open the file in QuickTime, the file is damaged. So I just redownloaded the file and it's working now, which is weird, but oh well.

  • How to get music back into itunes library?

Before i restored my laptop back to original default settings, i saved an itunes folder onto a external hardrive, thinking that i wouldnt need to re-install it etc. But it wasnt working, so im downloading itunes again now...but how do i get all my music back into my itunes library. The music is still on my ipod. Do i need to plug my ipod in or will that erase all my music on my ipod?! Stressing out! Please help!

    Quit iTunes.
Copy the entire /iTunes/ folder from you external to /My Music/ folder on your computer.
That is all you need to do.

  • How do you get music back into iTunes?

I know that if you delete a song from iTunes, it still stays on your computer, just not in iTunes. Since I have Windows, the deleted songs still stay as a Quicktime file in my documents/my music/itunes. I accidentily deleted "complilations" which had around 50 songs on it... but was weird was it didnt ask me if i wanted to delete the artist, it just did it. but other then burning the songs to a CD and uploading them again, does anybody know a way to get them back to itunes? Thanks in advance.

  • How do I get music files into iTunes?

I am switching from a PC, and have downloaded my music files from my cloud site. I seem to be able to drag the digital files from Finder into iTunes, but not the ones I scanned in from CDs. I guess they're Windows media files. What is my next move?

Do you still have the PC (or *a* PC)?  Itunes for *Windows* will import WMA files and convert them to a supported format.  Follow the instruction here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1844
You can then copy the new files to your Mac.
This capability is not built into iTunes for Mac, so if you don't have access to a PC, you'll need a third party utility, eg:
    http://download.cnet.com/Free-WMA-to-MP3-Changer/3000-2140_4-75703803.html
(disclaimer: I'm not personally familiar with this utility).

  • How do I get music loaded into itunes via CD synced into ipad?

sync seems to only want to load music onto the ipad that was purchased within itunes.  I have a lot of old CDs have loaded into itunes on my macbook pro that have been synced to my ipod, why won't they also sync to the ipad?

after another trip to the Apple store (just glad there's one close) found out you must configure sync settings for each device attached to your iTunes library. So made the ipad the current device, clicked on Music (on the horizontal menu bar that begins with Summary), selected the desired sync options, synced and now have all my albums on the ipad. only they aren't showing as albums but each individual "song" (even for a symphony)

  • Main HDD formatted.  How to get music back into iTunes?

    Hi,
I've just had a bit of a disaster. My main (internal) HDD became corrupted and I was forced to format, losing all my data.
Not too much of a problem, as my iTunes library was stored on an external concatenated RAID. I did, however, lose the two files in the default Music folder -- the XML one and one other (I forget what it's called, But I know it's important!).
No matter -- I don't really care about ratings, playcounts, etc. What I want to do, however, now that I've reinstalled and get everything up to date, is point iTunes at the external drive, get it to recognise the songs, movies, etc, and rebuild it's library. However, I don't want to copy the files -- I don't have another external drive and there's not enough room on the RAID for two copies of everything, even temporarily...
Hope I've explained this okay. In a nutshell -- how to point iTunes at my song files and get it to recognise them?
(I want iTunes to automatically organise my music, I don't want to do it manually).
It is imperative that iTunes does not destroy these files -- I don't have a backup and won't have one until i can afford more HDD space in a few weeks time... (dangerous, I know...)
    Any help much appreciated.
    Steve.

    iTunes prefs -> Advanced.
Set the iTunes music folder to the location where your music is now.
Then File -> *Add to library*.

  • Problem importing home video into iTunes for ipod touch

I recorded my son's marching band concert on a Flip Video camera. I have tried importing it various ways (directly from flip, importing to windows media player, burning it to dvd, putting the file directly into the itunes library folder) but every time I try to either drag and drop or add file to library, nothing happens. Nada. It just doesn't appear. Is there a way to do this?

The file must be an mpeg4 video meeting these standards:
    H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
