PROBLEM GETTING PDF INTO DREAMWEAVER

I tried to place a copy of a PDF in my site Folder using copy and and paste but the paste is field protected.
I made sure pdf title was in all lower case. What am I doing wrong that I can n
ot use copy and paste?
Any other suggestions as to how I can get pdf file into dreamweaver site folder?

HTML is a web document. PDF is a print document and must be treated as a separate media file. The best you can do is provide a direct link to the PDF file on your server.
If the end user has Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Reader and the necessary browser plug-ins, they can usually click the link and the PDF file will launch in their browser. If not, they won't see anything unless they download the file and open Acrobat or some other PDF application.

Are you working from a properly Defined Site in DW?

If you are, your PDFs should be in your local files before they're ever uploaded to the server.
If they exist in your local Defined Site, all you need to do is...
1. Highlight the text you want to use as the links in Design View
2. Browse (click the folder icon by the Link field), point (click and drag the point to file crosshair by the link field to the PDF in the Files window) or type in the path of the PDF to the Link field of the Properties window.
3. Save
4. Upload both the modified page and the PDFs

Problems with PDFS in Dreamweaver

I'm new to Dreamweaver. I need to replace some PDFs that have outdated information. I created new PDFs, saved them to the root, broke the old link, made a new link, connecting the new PDF, selected ctrl + double click to open the PDF to make sure it was there, saved the file, and put the file up. Then, when I open the changed links in the browser, I get a 404. When I go back to reconnect the old, outdated links, they work, but none of the new links do. It's definitely a user error--I can't find any resources to help me past the problem and I absolutely cannot see what I am doing differently or wrong. It's making me crazy! I hope you can help! Thank you for your comments. I think it is a path issue, but I don't know how to fix. I'm sure it's something simple too. I saved the PDFs to the same folders that had the old PDFs.
They appear as though they are uploaded correctly into dreamweaver. I can see them in the root directory within their respective folders, and when I select the text that makes the link, the link appears at the bottom of the screen so it looks as though it will be published correctly, but then it isn't.

Problems Importing pdfs into iBook and sync to iPad air 2

Is there a solution to what appears to be a widespread problem within the community? That of not being able to import books in pdf form into iBooks and subsequently syncing with an iPad Air 2 running iOS 8.1. This seems to be specific to pdfs not 'purchased' from iTunes. In the past I have had all my software manuals available on my iPad, synced with my iMac, all working happily and would dearly love to return this situation.
I then upgraded to iOS 8. Big mistake. iTunes on the iMac (OS 10.6.8) does not sync pdfs to new iPad.
Try syncing from MacBookPro (OS 10.10) still no luck.
There are suggestions to use iTunes, but there is no longer an option to view 'Books' in iTunes.
Can anybody offer a work around until such times as the collective 'apple digit' is removed and a not so 'minor bug' is fixed?
Are Apple working on this problem or even aware of it?

Have you tried the shortcut to add books/pdfs Command Shift O?

Maybe I didn't explain myself very well earlier. When I am working in iBooks, having control clicked multiple files and selected 'Open With iBooks' to get the pdfs into iBooks, (as per your suggestion) a click on a pdf icon initiates nothing, a double click causes the pdf to open in Preview. This I can achieve from the Finder.
The reason I haven't tried to sync from the MBP is that I rely on iPad iBooks as a reference source. At the moment it is working but not the way I want it to (Sync via iMac 10.8.6). When Ibooks on the MBP is finally OK, then I will try.

Problems Importing Files Into Dreamweaver

I have previously imported files in Dreamweaver by dragging them from my desktop & dropping them into my websites local files. Suddenly today, I can't get any files to import into Dreamweaver. I am using Dreamweaver 13.2 on a Mac with OS 10.9.2.

Nothing. I drag the files from my desktop to the target folder in Dreamweaver, and nothing happens. I have tried shutting everything down & bringing it all back up, and I have also tried re-saving the file to the desktop. I was putting an html file into Dreamweaver when I noticed it wasn't working, so I tried a Word doc & PDF, all with same results. Out of desperation, I just tried re-synching my website, but (as I expected), nothing changed.

Getting PDF into iBooks from Mail with IOS 7?

OK, on my iPad 3......pre IOS 7, someone coud emal me a PDF and I would click it in Mail and it would give me the "OPTION" to view or open in iBooks. Because I wanted it in iBooks, I would click that and all was good.
NOW with IOS 7.....I get this "Preview" of the PDF.....when I click it, I get "Save Image" or "Copy".
If I click Save Image, it puts something in my Camera Roll that I cannot even see? If I hit Copy, I guess it's on the Clipboard...but I still cannot get it into iBooks.
HOW DO I GET A PDF that was emailed to me from Mail to iBooks using IOS 7????

OK...here is what it is.......
I open a WORD Document on my Mac using MS Word 2008 for Mac Version 12.3.6 (130206) Latest Installed Update: 12.3.6.
I then click SAVE AS: and I choose PDF.
I then email that PDF to myself via standard Mac Mail...and recieve it in my iPad via standard Mail.
It shows up as a photo....I click on it in MAIL on my iPad and I only have the OPTION to "Save Image"...and that puts it in the Camera Roll...but not as a PDF or....COPY....and I can't do anything with that.
NEXT....I tried it this way.
I open the document in MS WORD....click PRINT...then PDF from my MAC....and save it as a PDF.....do that same thing above...and I get the same results.
So...it is NOT a photo...it is a MS WORD Document.....I have tried this not only on my iPAD but also on an iPHONE 5 running IOS7 and get the same results.
HOW DO I FIX THIS?????

If I SAVE the PDF to something like Dropbox....then got to Dropbox on my iPad or phone...then click it I have the option to put it in iBooks...and it works perfectly.......
So...the "ISSUE" to me is not with the PDF....as it does work when saved that way...the issue is with IOS7 and how it views a PDF in Mail.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

Problem getting photos into an iPad Air

I plug my previously working Apple Camera Adapter (holding SD card containing photos) into an 30-pin/lightning adapter and this assembly into my iPad Air (model MD786B/A) - but photos now don't show up to be transferred. So how do I get photos into the iPad from an SD card ?

1. Was the SD card used in a camera and is that how the photos got onto the card?
2. Did you previously use the 30 pin SD Card Adapter with the 30 pin to Lightning Adapter successfully?
The SD card readers (either 30 pin to SD Card adapter or the Lighting to SD Card Camera Adapter) are designed to be used with SD cards that have been formatted and used in a camera. The iPad expect to see a specific organization of the photos. First there must be a folder named DCIM. In side that folder photos must have specific naming structure. IMG_xxxx.jpg is correct where xxxx refers to a four digit number.

Problems importing avi into dreamweaver

I am trying to play an avi animation in Dreamweaver but the
animation will not play.
I have tried insert/media/
flash/shockwave/applet/Plugin/activex.
None of these methods work. There doesnt seem to be an action
button for inserting avi's.
Is ther any coding I can use to import my avi into a table in
my dreamweaver page or is there another way to import an avi into
Dreamweaver.
I have also tried dragging the file onto the screen from the
site menu but error appears "fail to open document"
I have tested the avi and it plays okay in a media player

You would embed it or link to it, but honestly, if you have
access to Flash
8, I would advise converting the avi to a Flash flv ..
wonderful quality at
a fraction of the file size.

How do I import a pdf into Dreamweaver CS4?

I converted a Golive site to CS4, when I added a new pdf to my newsletter page and linked to it, I get an error message that the file can't be found. Everything looks to be correct. If I link to an older newsletter that was in the Golive site, so was there when I converted the site, the link works.

GET and PUT are one of the fundamentals concepts for managing sites with Dreamweaver (or any ftp client)

Problems getting data into a SET Column

I am having a problem with the SET Column storing multiple days of the week. When I submit the form, a link that says function.implode shows up at the top of the page and enters NULL in my Column. Any ideas why? I also had a lot of server side validation that was in this code. I removed all of it thinking that might be the problem, but the same thing is happening either way.

Yes, I had actually already caught my mistake before you sent this. It is
working now. I have 2 more unrelated questions that can't seem to find in
your book.
#1 - I have an updated page separate from the user input page and I want it
to populate the days_to_play record when they open update so they can edit
these days if they want. I can't get it to show what is already selected.
#2 - I have quotes that appear on the page and it works fine and selects
them randomly when the page is accessed, but I want to add a picture(s).
How can I add pictures to a database table and get them to display randomly
with the text I already have?

What's the easiest way to get PDFs into iPad?

A friend has a jail broken iPad. He can drag-and-drop PDF files right into his iPad with the same ease that we can when copying a PDF file from one Mac to another (Does not use, or need iTunes).
I do NOT want to jailbreak my iPad. Is there some similar way to transfer PDFs to iPad without going through iTunes (which I find to be a hassle).

You can either use iTunes (which you've already said that you don;t want to do)
I find transferring files using iTunes difficult and tedious (compared to the drag-and-drop methods used by jail broken iPads). I put in several hours trying to transfer PDF files using iTunes and never could get it to work. Perhaps I did not have the right App on my iPad.

I did view the DropBox video. (The video urges one to simply download it, and never discloses the cost prior.) Also, I would never put my personal files on the cloud where they can be hacked. I want something I can simply transfer on my own network without using the Internet.

Problem getting transparency in Dreamweaver with Flash

I recently upgraded my Dreamweaver to CS4 and it has has changed the code I had for a site I designed. I used to have transparency in my Flash movie so that the browser background could be seen through the movie. I have now lost this. Could someone please help me getting this transparency back as I know very little about Dreamweaver or html for that matter.

Sneak Preview - problems getting BAPI into VC

Hi everybody,
I installed Full Java Edition 2004s Release SAP NetWeaver 04s SP7 on Windows XP SP2 to test Visual Composer.
First I defined an R/3 System (4.6 C) in portal and did the user mapping for this system. For testing the connection to R/3 with the WinGUI I generated an iView. Using this iView to logon via SSO to the R/3 system with the mapped user-id and password worked fine.
Next step was to try out the bank example in Visual Composer. When seraching for bapis in the defined R/3 system Visual Composer got connection problems.
In R/3 system's log I found the request of Visual Composer. My user-id was transfered well but the password apparently wasn't. The errormessage in the log said, that there are problems with user-id or password.
After spending a lot of time with solving this problem by myself unsuccessfully I post this message and hope that anybody can help.

Please make sure you followed the steps below, as I faced similar problem, for accessing R/3 System Alias and BAPI's ofcourse on Visual Composer.
a. <b>Create a system alias from Administrator Login credentials on Portal (assume, you have done the same).</b>
b. Usermapping done for the System Alias with proper R/3 login credentials.
c. Now try to access the system alias created by reloging to VC and search for BAPI's.
For the query that you have posted, hopefully this should solve your problem.

Getting .pdf into InDesign

Hello,
I have a business card in a pdf format.
I have the Creative Could subscription, with the full suite of programs.
In Acrobat, the file is crystal clear.
When I create a business card size document in InDesign, and place the file - the quality is terrible.
How can I retain the quality, but be able to print this in the manner I need (10 to a page).

What you are seeing is just a low-res screen representation. If the file is clear in Acrobat, it will be clear when printed from InDesign. Try View > Display Performance > High Quality Display to see a clearer version of your file.

How to get CS4 Bridge Photo Gallery into Dreamweaver?

I am a photographer who is new to Dreamweaver. I followed instructions and created a web gallery in Photoshop CS4 bridge. How do I get that into Dreamweaver???????????

Open DW.
Define your site.
Close DW
Put all the stuff that Bridge spews out into site folder - without changing the file structure.
Open DW
The tickiest part to this if you're new to it all, is defining your site. After that, if you don't have a basice grasp of HTML and CSS Dreamweaver might just turn out to be a bit trickier yet.
If you are not so sure about defining your site, Google it. There are tutorials for it everywhere!
