Problem getting tracks to display in the right order

My music library does not always display tracks in the desired order. For example, after loading a concerto from a CD I find the movements are out of order. When I try to rectify this by putting a numeral into the track title itunes takes no notice. I've had the same problem organising talking book tracks: when I try to order the untitled tracks numerically, itunes reads the numbers oddly eg L1 01 is followed not by L1 02 but by L2 01; then it reverts to L1 02, then L2 02 etc. With letters itunes alphabet order without exception. Why does it not do so with numbers?
Does anyone have a suggestion or solution to this? Is there an easier way to get itunes to play the track in the desired order?

Either you have the list sorted on the wrong column heading or the track numbers are not populated. See Grouping tracks into albums for more info.

How can I get my photos back in the right order?

I recently reset my iPhone 4s, having backed it up. When I re-synced it my photos were all in the wrong order, they seem to be displayed in some random order. For example, four photos that I took one after the other are now scattered among other photos. I would like to have them in date order, but can't seem to do this. I know I have to do it on my computer first, and am running Windows 7.
Can anyone help? All I want is my photos back as they were before I reset the phone.

Thank you. I had actually done that, and then could not re- sync my iPhone. It connects to iTunes and is recognised, but does not sync, although the bar at the top sys it is synching , and goes through the process very quickly. But in the end I still have my photos in the old order on the iPhone, and no music at all!

Definitely a little odd that some episodes will sync and others will not, especially since they are from the same season. How the videos were encoded may be slightly difference, so much that your iPod no longer friends them compatible.

Since these are videos that were purchased from the iTunes store, you won't be able to convert them in any way, so you may be out of luck.

When adding audio books to ipod either manually or by syncing, the tracks seem to be in the right order but they play back in a random order which means you can't listen to the book. How do you overcome this? (Bill)

I have found the problem myself when I got into the Settings. Somehow it had been put onto shuffle all music files and once I turned that off it reverted to normal. I realised something basic was wrong when our other ipod that had been synced at the same time didn't have a problem. However, I had put all the books on manually, one album at a time as problems occurred when syncing the whole library, including multiple albums for the same piece of music.

How do I get tracks in the right order?

I've syncd my albums onto my Nano, but on one of them (a musical) the tracks are in the wrong order. I don't want the finale in the middle, etc. I've numbered the tracks, and in Itunes they appear in the right order, but on the Ipod they're mixed up. What should I do to get them into the right order?

Barkingmad in Colorado here.
1. plug in nano
2. select the play list of the work you mentioned (if still in the music main list make a play list just for this work).
3. in the pull down menu View select View options
4. check mark the box Track number
5. go back to the play list for the work and click on the heading called " Track # " and it should put the list in order. If it is reversed click on the heading again; note the little triangle changes direction. Some times this is a bit tricky to make work. For the sound track to The Thomas Crown Affair it would not keep the songs in order in my shuffle but seems to work right in nano.

Problems getting track times to import.

I have experienced a problem where the CD track times display on the CD I am importing, but when that CD is in the Library, some or all tracks display "not available" for the track time. When those tracks are downloaded to the I-pod, they get skipped over. Is there a way to edit in track times in the library, and in I-tunes itself? I'd like to not have to re-import a bunch of CD's if at all possible.

As far as I know, you can only generate track names on CD's from Gracenote if the order, the amount of tracks and the time per track on your CD is correct (= original).
So, if you have complete albums, and you are able to 'reconstruct' them as described above (same tracks in same order as on the original CD), than burn a CD from this. Mount this CD in iTunes, and let it search in Gracenote; if you did a good job, you will receive your track names. You can now re-import your tracks to iTunes.
But, when the albums that are incomplete or when you don't want to spoil all this empty CD's, I think you'll have to retype all your track names. Maybe you can look for the track names on Gracenote or amazon and copy-paste this.
One good thing : if you have converted your AAC's to AIFF's (that's how I understand it), you did get rid of the protection and you will be able to burn as many CD's from this songs as you want

IR Search bar display on the right when no data found

How do I get the Interactive Search bar to be left justified when no data is found. I'm using Sand 10 Theme, and the region my interactive report is in is Page Template Region Position 3
Does anyone have a suggestion on this?

Does anyone have a suggestion on this?Have you actually considered where Region Position 3 is located on the page? Content in regions that are located on the right tends to be displayed on the right.
From the dimensions specified in the page templates it's also clear that region position 3 is intended to be used for narrower content than the average interactive report.
Consider using either a more appropriate region position or a different theme (theme 10 is ugly as sin anyway).

How do you get photo slideshows in the right order on Ipod Video

When I download my photos from my computer (Windows XP) they do not come out in the right order on my Ipod. How do I get my photos to come out in the same order as I have them on my computer? In My Pictures on Windows I arrange icons by date taken and this is how I want them on Ipod.

Slideshow-Images not displaying in the right place on the screen

I am trying to use the SlideShow widget for the first time. I have a pretty basic slideshow with six images that I want to display. When I preview it in IE or Firefox,what I get is really weird. The first image displays in the right place. The second displays in the right place, but with a black box underneath it. The third displays under where it's supposed to go, with a black box above it. After this, the images alternate between where they're supposed to be and just below that, with a black box of the same size in the second location. I've looked at the source of other webpages that have working slide shows, and I don't see a difference between what I'm doing and what they're doing. Here is what I think is the relevant code. Can anyone suggest a way to fix this?

If you have a look at basic_fs.css, you will notice that the styles taget a class called BasicSlideShowFS.
Yet when I look at the constructor, the class is missing as in

Because you are not using the thumbnails (filmstrip), I am wondering why you did not implement the basic slideshow, which will make it a lot easier for you.

You should find these in the User Home folder library (which is hidden by default in Lion):
1) In the Finder, use the Go menu whilst holding down the Option (Alt) key... the Library will appear in the 'Go' menu.
2) Navigate to (<user>):Library:Application Support:Logic:Project Templates

Make sure the contact has a 10-digit number, not just the 7-digit number.
If that isn't it, does the problem only happen with iMessages, SMS or MMS messages?
Try tapping Settings > Messages, then turn SMS and MMS off. Test, then repeat again only leaving SMS or MMS on.

The simplest way is to drag it across wirelessly using the 'Airdrop' application once both computers are near one another. 'Airdrop' can be found near the top, on the left hand side menu, within 'Finder'.
