Problem getting WiFi to accept my password

Hey All.  Just got my new Kin TwoM tonight!  Yay.   Like someone else said, I had to call Verizon to get it activated.  Wouldn't work online.  1st Tech Support couldn't get it programmed manually, but Tier II got it programmed.  That took a good 30 minutes.  Now I'm trying to get WiFi working.  I turned on Wifi and it's detecting my home network, but it won't recognize my password.  Keeps saying it's wrong.  Now it's an easy password for me to remember, but I figured I better double check my password that I have written down and filed away, and I do have the correct password.  It's all numeric, and I thought maybe I was using the letter O instead of a zero, but the zero is up in the top row with all the numbers so that's not the problem. I then went into my router to make sure I didn't go and change the password at some point, but the password is what I've  had it set to for years and what I'm trying to get the phone to accept.    Anyone else have a problem getting WiFi to accept the password?  My router is a Dlink.  The phone is showing it as WEP, so I thought maybe there's a problem with the phone and WEP and maybe I should try another encryption.  Or do I have to allow access in my router or something?. I went in and disabled the password on my router and the Kin was able to connect fine.  I enabled the password again, re-entered it on my phone and it won't connect with the password.  Any other ideas?  Thanks, Pam

Oh this is frustrating.  I finally got my phone wifi to connect to my home network once by manually adding my network, but I couldn't seem to get it connected again when I try the same way.   When I was connected, I still couldn't open any webpages, but it did download my email.  BUT...it wouldn't open any email unless it was text only.  I was wondering if it was because I turned off Data Services in my Verizon account.  I thought you had to do that so that you wouldn't accidentally connect to 3G when there was no WiFi.   I did try to renew my IP, but no change.  I tried manually connecting to my home network another 10 times or so, and I finally got it to connect again, and I can now access the internet.  The wifi on this phone must be VERY buggy.  That's a real dissapointment since the phone has so many great features.  I suppose it is possible that my phone has an faulty Wifi.  I'll see if I have problems connecting to wifi elsewhere.  I did try at work yesterday and couldn't get connected, but I wasn't sure how good the wifi was at work so I didn't really worry about that.  I am NOT going to mess with the wifi connection to my home network now that I finally got it connected.  Hopefully after I turn off wifi, it will be able to reconnect the next time I turn it on.  One can hope anyway!

  • Can't get iCloud to accept my password, even after changing, and Apple confirms.

    I've just upgraded to Mountain Lion, and as part of the process, it asked me for my Apple ID to do get ICloud operational.  Wouldn't accept my password, so I finally used the Apple Support option to change it to a new one.  I did this, and Apple sent the confirmation email, but it still won't work.  I know this password works to confirm my identity with Apple, since I had to enter it, to post this querry.  I eventually signed out of ICloud to see if I could start from there, and now when I enter my info., the sign in screen just sits there with the little spinning wait signifier spinning.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Repair pernissions with Disk Utility.
    Reboot your computer and try to log in. Try both the old and new passswords - I had issues on my wifes account and even though I had changed the password it took the old one - go figure.

  • I am in password/Apple ID ****! The Apple ID that is showing up on my iPod is one I can't find the password for. I need to fix this since I reset the iPod and can't get my apps back until I can get it to accept a password. What can I do to?

    My iPod touch has an Apple ID that I haven't used for a while. It won't accept the password I had for it, and won't accept a new one either. I got a new one following the instructions, and it won't accept the new one either. I need to get this fixed and I'm getting nowhere! Please help.

    Are you running into the Activation Lock?
    iCloud: Find My iPhone Activation Lock in iOS 7
    You have to enter the Apple ID and password last used in Settings>iCloud on the iPod.
    Yo have to recover use of that ID/password
    Is there a way to find my Apple ID Name if I can't remember it?
    Yes. Visit My Apple ID and click Find your Apple ID. See Finding your Apple ID if you'd like more information.
    How do I change or recover a forgotten Apple ID Password?
    If you've forgotten your Apple ID Password or want to change it, go to My Apple ID and follow the instructions. SeeChanging your Apple ID password if you'd like more information.

  • Problems getting IdentityXML to accept new (6.5+) syntax

    Not much COREid related stuff in the forums, but I'll give it a whirl anyway.
    I am having trouble getting COREid to respond to IdXML messages using the new syntax, 6.5 and above. That is not the only problem I am facing, but let's start with something manageable!
    I am using COREid 7.04 running on Windows, all LDAP is in AD.
    I have looked at the docs, Developer guide, ch 3, pp 145-
    One of the things I can do only using the old syntax is 'search'. It works well with the old syntax, but using the new parameters I don't get the expected results. I have played around with the XML call, resulting in either errors or pretty much empty answers.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated; finding docs is a real challenge!
    thanks
    Kam
    Edit: This is the XML call I am passing, followed by the response. It is based on the Developer guide pp31-32, just edited the username and some minor things. I am searching for any user with the Division attribute defined. I have two users that I can find through the GUI, using the same login as the XML.
    Input XML:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas-xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
              xmlns:oblix="http://www.oblix.com">

    </oblix:condition>
    </oblix:Searchparams>
    </oblix:AttributeParams>
    </oblix:request>
    </SOAP-ENV:Body>
    </SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
    The result I get back:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <SOAP-ENV:Body>

    </SOAP-ENV:Body>

    I am a bit stumped, to be honest. The docs certainly seem to suggest that I can pass AttributeParams. I'm hoping that I have made a simple mistake, and that one of you good people will spot it and suggest a solution!

    I've had trouble using the new syntax too. I tried changing password of the user currently signed-in and kept getting the message "The old password is not correct." I used the following XML:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:oblix="http://www.oblix.com/" xmlns="http://www.oblix.com/">

  • New Mac mini. Can't get 'mail' to accept my password

    I have an ATT e-mail address. Can't get the new Mac to accept it so I can set up 'mail'

    With an ATT.net email address, under the incoming mail server, user name has to be fully qualified, ie, "[email protected]". If you just use "yourname" it won't work. Inbound mail server is inbound.att.net and outbound is outbound.att.net (this is all on the ATT site).  Under advanced options, use port 995, SSL and password authentication.
    If what I've described isn't your problem, please provide more information.

  • Problem with apple not accepting my password after changing it three times as per there request

    does this mean everything is ok with password an apple id
    hello anyone here???? pls advise i've never done this before.

    I'm not sure what you are doing wrong when you do a firmware update, but the last update, 2.2.1, had nothing to do with WiFi. Not being able to even see your network, encryption on or off, is indicative of a hardware problem with your touch. Take the Apple technician's suggestion and return the iPod.
    While you are waiting for a replacement, do yourself a favor and cleanup your MacBook. Totally remove iTunes (see this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224) and download and install the latest version (8.1).
    Take a look at your router setup. What type of encryption are you using? Have you updated your firmware to the latest version? If your router supports it, change your encryption to WPA/WPA2-personnel editions. If you are stuck with WEP, change the encryption to 128 bit and record the hex key generated with your password. When you log on, make sure you tell your touch the encryption being used and, if using WEP, input the hex key. With WPA/WPA2 you can use the password you selected.
    Also when you are looking into your router, make sure the DHCP is on and MAC address filtering is off.

  • Cannot get email to accept my password or username

    I have tried to reset my password and I am using the correct username but I get the following message " sending of password did not succeed Mail server pop.earthlink.net responded bad password or user name"

    Go to your email providers web mail page and confirm that you have a working username and password. If not, fix them there.
    When you have a working password go into Thunderbird and delete the saved passwords and then close Thunderbird. When you restart Thunderbird you will be asked for a password. Enter the new, working password.
    Here is how to remove and replace the stored passwords.

    If you still have problems it might be incorrect server settings. Get a current list from your provider and compare those with what you have in Thunderbird.

    I may have put my password in wrong on several occasions and it's now locked me out, disabling the iPod for five minutes, if I can't access it after that, where should I go to get it sorted?

    You would have to do as the manual says and restore it.

  • Problems getting iMac to accept CD's in itunes??

    I wonder if anyone can help. I am having problems loading pre-recorded CD's in my imac? They load perfectly OK in iTunes on my Macbook ... but when I try to load them in my Imac the CD inserts OK into the drive ... makes some kind of noise which suggests the machine is trying to read the CD and then it ejects it again. I have tried various CD's all clean etc ... Any thoughts?

  • My ipad keeps telling me i have the wrong password and is now disabled, how do i get it to accept the password i created.

    I am not at my home computer to connect will this be a problem?

    If you are talking about your iPad passcode needed to unlock the device - you can't retrieve it. You have to restore the device and sync with the computer that you always sync to in order to retrieve all of your data. This article is a starting point for you. You will need your computer - unless you want to restore and wipe the iPad completely by using another computer to restore.

  • I am not having problems with wifi but ipad will not accept my password in the secure mode. anyone else having the same problem?

    I am having problems with the Ipad accepting my password in the secure mode in Wifi. I can get into wifi when the secure mode is off. This only started when I downloaded the lastest update for the Ipad. Anyone else having the same problems?  I have rebooted the Rotar and still doesn't work.

    I am not.
    Which secure mode are you using with your wireless network - WEP or WPA?
    Have you tried forgetting this network on your iPad, and/or resetting network settings on your iPad? Both will require rejoining the network and the latter will require rejoining every wi-fi network your iPad has access to when returning within range of the network.
