Problem Going from CF to Page in PDF

I am working on a web page in ColdFusion that allows users to
pick the page they want to see in a pdf and then generates a link
that opens up the pdf and takes them directly to that page. It
works great when Reader (or Acrobat) open up within the browser
window. However, some people have Reader (or Acrobat) set up to
always open up outside the browser window, and then my link to the
specific page (http: . . . pdf#Page=7) doesn't work. Any
suggestions for a link to a specific page in a pdf that will work
whether or not Reader (or Acrobat) opens up inside or outside the
browser window?

I looked into this. From what I read, I don't think this is
supposed to work from compiled help. It can work from WebHelp. What
you are looking for is a "named destination" in Acrobat, not a
"bookmark." Apparently these are two separate things, but the named
destination is accessed like an HTML bookmark, e.g. <A
HREF="filename.pdf#destination>. You can also use a page number,
e.g. <A HREF="filename.pdf#page=4">

LabVIEW was converted from English to Japanese. I do not think there would be an problems going the other way (provided you know Japanese). There are a couple of examples on the web for converting VIs between languages. Problems printing from iPhoto 6: Page setup & Preview

I am having trouble printing from iPhoto v6. For starters, the miniture preview frame in the print screen does not conform to the paper size selection or image orientation. (It is always a big square.) Only part of a 4x6 image image is seen in the frame. This makes predicting the final result impossible. To make matters harder, the print dialog does not remember what paper size was last used and many internal "Advanced" options reset the paper size to "letter". Simple choosing any printer preset resets the paper size. Switching from advanced options to the iPhoto options seems to alter other selected options as wlll.
I have the most current driver for my printer. I have no problem printing from Aperture or Photoshop. I have custom color profiles and am not entirely a novice, but I am wasting much paper and ink and spraying the inside of my printer!
The use of the native iPhoto print routines seems mutually exclusive with using Advanced options. I understood that the first iterations of iPhoto wanted us to depend on the Mac Print routines, and it was always a little touchy but I would have hoped earlier problems would have been sorted out by now. I want to print my own pictures!
Much confusion and no place to find good instructions. For example, should I be using "Full Page" or "Standard Prints" Standard settings in the print interface? There appear to be several places to select print sizes but they do not seem linked together nor is it obvious which one is determinitive. Under color options do I select Color Corrections <none> or <Colorsync> which then forces me to use driver recommended by Canon despite the fact I have a custom profile identified in Color sync utility. It just isn't working for me.
Are others notiing that iPhoto print routines are no longer working for them? I would like to see the internal print routines working intuitively before additional efforts are made to facilitate purchase from outside printing sources!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Just ran a test and I got a perfect card. Here's what I did.
1 - create the card and type Command-P.
2 - select Stylus Photo R200 under Printer
3 - click on the Advanced button
4 - in the bottom drop down menu select Paper Handling
5 - select the radio button "Use documents paper size: 7.00 in x 10.00 in
6 - now select Print Settings in the 3rd drop down menu
7 - select the type of paper you're using and the print quality you want. I used Photo and High Speed. (also used plain paper for my test)
9 - put a piece of 7 x 10 paper in the printer (yes, you'll have to trip the paper beforehand or use card stock designed for this)
10 - click on Print
11 - when the paper exits the printer quickly put it back in the printer
That will do it. Now there is a caveat. Putting it back into the printer before drying tended to get my leading edge nipped. If you use heaver card stock I don't think that will happen but just be aware. If you wait a moment to put the page, turned over, back into the printer to let the ink dry a bit, all you'll have to do is press the middle button which will be blinking red and that will feed the other side thru when you're ready.

Can you help me solve ical synch problem going from iPhone to MacBook Air?

My iPhone calendar contains a lot of important meetings. I am about to migrate from my 3GS to iPhone 5 but since I cannot seem to properly synchronize my iCal from my iPhone to to my MacBook Air, i.e. I cannot see any events from my iPhone in my Mac's calendar. I am thus afraid to activate and jump to my iPhone 5, which is collecting dust at this point, because if this calendar fails to reemerge from the "Cloud" I am in deep horsedung.
I have all of the iCloud settings turned on for synching. I have gone to Storage and Backup and hit Synch Now and that update seems to occur via any feedback my iPhone is giving me.
I have a suspicion that since I was forced to create a 2nd account in order to synch "Notes" to the iCloud that such may be causing some of the problems, but honestly, prior to doing that I synched to iCloud so this inability to see my iPhone calendar on my Mac is more longstanding.
I also cannot seemingly log out of iCloud with one ID on my MacBook Air and sign in with another without iCloud telling me that I am going to lose all of my Contacts and previous data that I synched up with the current ID. What's that all about? That does not seem like typically brilliant Apple Design to me. Most of end up with more than one Apple ID, especially since the "Notes" synch forces you to sign up for yet another iCloud ID. I thoroughly researched that problem online at many forums before reluctantly adding another Apple ID.
My environment is MacBook Air OS X 10.7.4 and 3GS with IOS 5 (iPhone 5 with undoubtedly IOS 6 sitting in the hangar)

Problems converting from MS Word 2007 to PDF using LiveCycle Designer 8

Hi all,
Hope anybody out there could assist me. have a Word document (we are using
Office 2007) and I'm trying to use Adobe Live Cycle Designer 8.0 to convert
a form from word to pdf. However, I get an error message (as shown in the
image below)
Is this a compatibility problem with Office 07?

I found a solution in a tech note from the adobe site:

2007 is a little tricky, since the instructions it gives are for Office 2003.
In 2007 I went into "Word Options" from that funky button at the top of the Word window.
From there, go into "Add Ins".
At the bottom where it says "Manage" select "Com Add Ins" then click "Go".
You should have a list that includes the Acrobat PDFMaker Office Add In. My Add In file is located at: \\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll
The document finally converted, but it couldn't autodetect any of the form fields I'd placed on the original Word Document (.docx). Still looking for an answer on that one.

Link from HTML to Page in .pdf

Hello,
I have a .pdf file that contains several chapters. I need to
have a table of contents in an html help project that opens the
.pdf and jumps directly to the appropriate chapter. I can get the
.pdf to open, but I don't know how to reference the chapter
bookmarks in the link. (I'm not even sure if bookmarks are the
proper navigation tool for this.)
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Delphi5, BDE: Problems going from ODBC 8.1.70 to 8.1.76

I am working on a Delphi 5 application that uses the Borland Database Engine (BDE) to connect to an Oracle 8.1.7 DB through an 8.1.7 Oracle ODBC Driver. We've been using an old version for a while now, and when we recently upgraded the ODBC driver from 8.1.70 to 8.1.76 we've gotten a LOT of errors with 'Table/View does not exist' when we use TTAble objects. I have yet to see if a TQuery works more reliably, but it seems to be intermittent.
Does anyone know anything about this problem, with regards to ODBC settings, BDE settings, object properties for TTable objects?

Okay, I figured it out with the help of a colleague.
It was the 'Set MetaData Id Default to SQL_TRUE' ODBC driver setting. This needed to be checked because I was using case insensitive table names in queries that put the names in double quotes.
Guess I should have read those release notes in more detail!!

Problem going from AE to PrePro

Hi All,
I am running Adobe CS5 Master Suite…
I have a set of plugins from Red Giant Software called “Trapcode Suite 10 (one suite product is called “Particular”) ” for After Effects and a set of templates for use with these plugins called “Cassidy Bisher’s Text Effects Vol 2 for Trapcode Suite 10”.
Everything looks fine in AE CS5 but when I save as Priemere Pro CS5 project and open in PrePro I get the following errors:
“The editing mode used by this sequence could not be loaded. The sequence will be opened in Desktop mode”
Then this error:
Video Filter missing: AE.ADBE HUE SATURATION
Video Filter missing: AE.tc Particular
The PrePro project loads but a lot of stuff does not work when I play it in PrePro.
Am I missing something simple?

The message abou the editing mode is telling you that the characteristics of the After Effects compositions don't match the characteristics of the format-specific native sequences in Premiere Pro. That's not really a big deal. The desktop editing mode is just the default editing mode for sequences with arbitrary characteristics.
Saving a Premiere Pro project out of After Effects doesn't preserve all characteristics of the After Effects project. And Premiere Pro can't use all of the effect plug-ins that After Effects can.
The process of converting from an After Effects project to a Premiere Pro project uses the same mechanism as copying and pasting between these two applications. You can see tables of what is converted and how here.
Dynamic Link has much higher fidelity because it uses a background version of After Effects to render and serve the frames to Premiere Pro, rather than trying to convert elements of an After Effects project into elements of a Premiere Pro project.

Problem going from iWeb to web

Hi, I checked to about page 14 in the forum for a similar topic and didn't see anything. Apologies if there are similar posts:
I just created a site with a main page and 4 pages branching off of that one. The main page in iWeb looks fine, a title, a picture, 3 text boxes with only text and one with hyperlinks inserted and an email me button. When I publish, the main page is all screwed up.
Text box 1 is gone, the text from the 1st box is in the box that should have hyperlinks, the third box is also gone, and the email me button is nowhere to be found. I tried refreshing the page and that did nothing. I tried republishing and that just shuffled the errors around.
Any ideas?

Problem going from d2 to e2

To all -
This is an FYI. We just moved from d2 to e2 at the urging of the support
center as we had experienced several corruptions of workspaces with d2
during updates. E2 has solved this nicely but we have just suffered from
a new problem.
We are using window inheritance including inheritance of things like
standard buttons and scroll bars. Yesterday, I made a change to one
superclass to rearrange the order of buttons in a grid. After I did this,
16 of 18 subclass windows were not longer accessible. We could not
compile them, export them, or every go into the window workshop! We
kept getting FTEXEC errors in a qqds.dll module. And of course this was
during testing of the application prior to deployment for a trade
show on Wednesday! Panic city...
The support center explained the likely problem as one of duplicate
tags. Apparently, we had in d2 created window widgets (specifically
grid fields) without giving them names. We had done this variably
on the superclass and subclass. When Forte e2 tried to merge the
super and subclasses, it found a conflict between the tags (apparently
these are system assigned numbers). It is supposed to just give a
warning about these problems but in this case, it completely crashed.
The solution was not completely terrible but took several hours. We
first fixed the superclass to make sure all grids were names. Then
we dragged/dropped the subclass windows into a new project. There we
could access them and give all grids names. Then we deleted the originals
and dragged/dropped the copies back in. Voila! Fixed after about 3
hours and a bit of sweating.
The moral of this story is to name all widgets including grids and to
tread lightly when changing widgets in superclass windows.

Arport express problems going from 5ghz to 2.4ghz

Hi all I'm completely stumped with this one.
Last night I needed to change the express from N 5ghz to N/B/G 2.4ghz.
So using the manual setup screen I selected the options. but when I clicked on update, I just get the spinning wheel and the imac, macbook and ipod could no longer see the airport at all, despite it having a green light.
If I plugged it in to the imac using a cable it could see it at this point and I confirmed the settings were correct for N/B/G 2.4 ghz. It just doesnt want to talk to anything.
To get it working I had to do a hard reset and plug it back in to the imac using an ethernet cable, and set it up again but it seems to only want to work on 5ghz.
I'm pretty sure its not the airport at fault as I took an airport back to the store a while ago as it was doing exactly the same thing and was in warranty, I was told it was duff and it was replaced.
Has anyone seen this type of behaviour at all? I'm using utility version 5.5.1 and firmware 7.4.2
Any help would be appreciated.

I suggest that you try a factory default reset and then try to reconfigure the AirPort Express (AX) again.
To perform the factory default reset:
Power down the AX for a few moments
Hold in the reset button and while you continue to hold the reset button in, plug the AX back in to power
Keep holding the reset button until you see the amber light begin to blink more quickly
If you try this a few times and the AX will not allow you to create a 2.4 GHz network, I'm afraid the AX is defective and will need to be replaced.

Problem going from Lightroom 3 to Camera Raw 4.1

I edit in LR3 then export to the original folder. When I open the edited photo in Camera Raw it is completely different. Not only is it different but it looks terrible. I'm making sure that when I export it from Lightroom that I have the correct version of Camera Raw chosen so I'm not sure what the issue is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Lightroom 3 is using the equivalent of ACR 6.x so ACR 4.1 cannot use the develop settings from that version of LR.
Lightroom 1 is fully compatible with PS CS3 ACR 4.x

Audio problem going from 5.0 to 4.5

I have captured a project on one computer with FCP 5 and the audio works fine, when I transfer the files to another computer with FCP 4.5 the audio does not play. Is there a codec problem do you think? The audio plays in quicktime player on the same computer that has FCP 4.5.
Any hints greatly appreciated.
