Problem has cause Photoshop to stop working??

I just installed cs3 on my new computer, windows 7 64 bit, Now I get the message Photoshop - "a problem has caused the
program to stop working."
PLEASE tell me how to fix this. I did the run as administrator thing and nothing changed. If I need to give more information, let me know...

thank you so much for these gracious replies, i then tried compatibility mode but to no avail. my previous computer on which it worked
is xp service pack 3... 32bit. the compatibility mode was tried on sp2 and sp3 but still i get that heart stopping message.
Pardon my whining but i was so excited about my new computer, and now i can't open the program i use/need the most.
I would love to have some more suggestions if you all have other things i can try.

                 I'm not sure I have the answers to all your questions. Although I use Photoshop and Lightroom extensively, I'm not a 'techy'.
    My system;
    Packard bell imedia S2885
    1TB hard drive
    500G RAM
    Windows 8.1   64- bit
    Intel core i5 4440
    If I open Photoshop cc14 without opening any image, I still get an error message that reads: 'Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled enhancements which use the graphics hardware'.
    There is also a link to the Adobe help site, but I'm not sure exactly what I should be downloading from there.

    What does the detailed crash report say?
    And have you updated your video card drivers from the GPU maker's website? (most crashes on launch are due to bugs in out of date video card drivers)

    Whenever I open Itunes and try to get my latest podcasts on my Windows 7 computer, Itunes stops working I get a message like" Itunes has stopped working and Windows is checking on the problem for you". I cannot download all my content in one sitting and sync my computer to my 4th gen Ipod. I reinstalled Itunes and selected repair but am still getting the same message.

    That in particular, in conjunction with the other symptoms you've described, has me wondering about user-account-specific troubles.
    I'd try checking first to see if the errors are user-account-specific or systemwide, as per:

    ... and if it does turn out to be a user-account-specific, error, I'd try steadily working through the troubleshooting possibilities in the user-specific troubleshooting section of that document.

    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
    If you've already tried something like the above then try opening iTunes in safe mode (press and hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases. You may find that iTunes opens normally now.

    You may select how and whether Firefox updates, although like most software it may be sensible to keep it up-to-date, it is more likely to remain secure and compatible with other software whilst up to date.

    Save your process files outside of the NI progam directory (you should have external backups already right ).  THey should not be deleted.
    Any customizations to the lookout.ini and lookout.sec file may be lost.

  • With Windows Vista, the most recent Itunes update 1/30/2014 has caused Itunes not to work, with a Mscvr80.dll not found error. Uninstalled all Apple programs, and installed fresh Itunes. Same problem. Tried to reinstall using an older install exe nogo

    Recent ITunes update has caused ITunes not to work. Tried uninstalling all Apple products and reinstalling fresh. Still doesn't work. Tried reinstalling from an old install.exe. Install went nicely but program won't start as it says it can't open the library file.

    Now that I have no way of accessing any of the products I have purchased from ITunes, I will most certainly never use ITunes again for any reason. Why throw good money after bad?  I will use another MP3 player that is not as cumbersome or proprietary.
    Lesson learned.

  • Premiere and Photoshop Elements Stopped working

    Been using both for a year. Over the last couple weeks every time I would start one up I'd get the Adobe free trial or subscribe to the Cloud option. Finally, neither (of the paid for programs) would load. Nothing changed on my system. No new software. No other problems. If it just stopped working that would be one thing. The fact that I started getting the sign up screen to trial or subscribe right before it stopped working leaves one to wonder, doesn't it?

    Good to hear from you. Hope that we can help you get your Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7 64 bit working again.
    My Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7 64 bit experiences were like yours much of last year. For me, Photoshop Elements 12 was months without resolution and each had its problems with Sign In.
    1. I strongly encourage you to take the opportunity to click on License This Product if you get that tryout dialog popping up and then to follow the instructions to get the program activated. There is no escaping the Sign In which comes with an automatic registration. That is an easy and quick resolution.
    2. Please review the the following to determine if you feel that these choices and continuing choices seem relevant to your situation

    When you do the downloads and installs, have you been disabling the antivirus and firewall(s)? This factor seems to have the most impact
    on the Adobe Application Manager file (.exe) in the .exe/.7z required files.
    Has exploration of the Event Viewer/Windows Logs/Applications errors and warnings offered any insights to pin point the issue as in one
    of the examples in one of the blog posts cited above?
    Think about the merits of troubleshooting one program at a time. Maybe we might get lucky, and one fix will fix both at the same time.
    Often after install/reinstall, deletion of settings files in Photoshop Elements 12/Elements Organizer 12/Premiere Elements 12 might still bring some
    resolution.

    For the problem that the issue is not happening on a different Account, Adobe does have a KB trying to save your orriginal account:

    Folowing these steps should actually result in either that you are able to work on your original Account, or that you at least did everything possible (according to Adobe) to save your account.
    You should not be required to use a Second Email for using Photoshop, This does not make much sense, Your AdobeID and OS Account are (or at least should) not (be) linked to eachother.
    Hopefully this will help you to work with the original Account again.
