Problem identifying name of device connected to port ???

I am new to Java communications , actually my requirement is identifying USB port ,
for ex: when i am trying to connect (to desktop/laptop ) using tata indicom USB and when removing connection
i need to identify that device based on that i have to perform some operations such as closing applications.
actually i have done (in windows Os by adding some support files & java communications jar) , with that it identifies available active ports and in addition to that i want to know which device is connected to that port and name of that also.

Well, shucks, i just spent almost 30 minutes trying to find your model user guide to explain it better, I guess they never got around to making it.....
I would just borrow another Windows disk and try installing it again and if it does it again then you might take it to an Apple Store and see if one of the "Genius' " can figure it out.
Make sure your internet is enabled and click on your blank desktop and at the top of your screen is a Help menu option, enter PRAM and it should give you a list of things relating to Pram. It may take a few seconds to list anything as it has to connect to Apples severs first. It should list the things you may have to fill back in when your done.
"P-ram" stores some common information that is used in the background, your date, time, startup disk, etc, that you don't have to re-fill when you restart, it's a little different for each computer.

Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to my computer

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 notebook; Product # WF536AV, running Win 7-Home. Without warning, when trying to boot one day I got the following error message:
Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. May be caused by unplugging removable storage while in use or a faulty hhd or CD drive. An unexpected I/O error. Error Code oxcoooooe9.
I have a 500GB WDC hhd that seems to run hot.
Cannot get into F8 Advanced Options, although I can get into BIOS (F9 & F10)
Ran the Win 7 Recovery Disks twice. No help. Same message
I can run Linux Ubuntu in memory (not installed). GParted shows the following:
Partition size used unused label flag file system
Sda1 76GB 14GB 61GB NTFS
sda2 400MB 300MB 100MB SDV Boot lba FAT32
unallocated 390GB
6. No access to Recovery Manager
7. F2: memory test passed but hhd test would not run
8. In Ubuntu Disk Manager, report said drive had 'a few bad sectors', but hhd test would not run "Self Test- Failed (Read)
9) Ran MBR repair disk and System Rescue disk; no luck
10) In Ubuntu, when I look at the Windows file system, In 82 GB partition there is an 'RM' folder with an "Image" folder with 16 files. In the SDV partition is the bootmgr folder and several others
a) why cannot I boot to Windows off the hhd?
b) what does SDV label mean (secure digital video; silicon data valu;tr; static driver verifer from Windows)?
c) is the hhd simply failing. I do not have an extra to swap out and try
d) may the Win 7 Recovery disks bad, perhaps, and should I then download a Win 7 ISO file and try that?

Names of devices connected to router

How can I tell the names of the devices that are connected to my E2000 router? Cisco connect says I have 4 devices connected but I only have 3. I am trying to figure out where the 4th device is coming from.

Hi! Where were you able to see the 40 devices connected to your network? Have you tried powering off your router and see if it shows the same number of devices connected to your network?

Write access problem with external Storage Device Connected to macbook

Hi All,
I have write access problem ( gives only read-access, but no write access) with an external HDD device (NTFS formatted ) connected to my macbook.
Could anyone suggest me a file system ( apart from FAT32) which is compatiable with both Mac OS as well windows ;also this file system should allow me to create partitions of size more than 100 GB
(My external storade devcie capacity is 500 GB )

Hi Nelson,
simply said there is no such file system.
Regardless what you choose, only FAT32 is fully read-/writeable from both Mac OSX and Windows.
Third-Party helper for access to certain file systems are:
MacDrive (for Windows using HFS+, the OSX file system)
MacFuse with 3G (for fully usage of NTFS in OSX)
Paragon NTFS for OSX (also for fully usage of NTFS in OSX)
Only MacFuse is freeware, the other two are Commercial apps.
And just in case you are thinking of any Linux file system, like Ext3 or ReiserFS, you will at least need driver for Windows if not also for OSX (not sure about that).

USB device connected to port but I can't see device in My Computer

Was working ok, but now my Miix 2 8 isnt showing up in my computer listing nor in the device manager.
WiFi seems to be working ok.
How do I get windows 7 to see the Miix 2 8, same issue when I plug the Miix 2 into a second windows 7 computer, and when I plug in a dongle with an SD card it sees the card and will display the contents...

Is the light source you have added an ambient light. Then you see the overall light. By selecting spot or point light you have a light source like lightbulb.
If the light source is under the grid you want see nothing. place it above the grid.

Java Identify which port has a GSM device connected

I am using communication API. I have a combo box where I have some port names (COM1, COM2 etc). User has to select a com name and check if this port has a device connected to it or not. i;'ll be grateful if anyone can help me plz. thanks alot.

IDE Device connection problems

Can anybody tell me why I can't connect more than 2 devices on my MS-6378 board? I have absolutely no idea why, but the secondary port doesn't seem to even be usable. Alright, first off, I need to clarify my question. What I ment to write was as follows: I have an ms-6380 (not a 6378) motherboard that I am having a problem with. What I CAN do is hook up two IDE devices to one of the two main ports I have, but for some reason when I try and hook up 4 devices (such as two hard drives on one port and two cd-rom drives on another) then it won't even recognize that the cd-rom drives are there. However, it will recognize one of the hard drives if I install just one of them. Also, this particular motherboard came with two other IDE ports - something I've really never seen before in a motherboard (but then again, I'm new at this). What I CAN do is hook up a hard drive to one, but I can't seem to get the computer to recognize another hard drive if I hook one up to the other port, or even worse, I can't get the computer to recognize BOTH hard drives if I hook them up on the same cable. This doesn't make sense to me at all. I've done a little research, and I've discovered that you can only hook up 4 IDE devices on any computer....but if that's true then why would this motherboard have 4 IDE ports, with the capability then to hook up a potential of 8 IDE devices???? Even better, why can't I hook up 4 devices using the 2 normal IDE ports that are pretty much standard in any motherboard (sorry if these 'ports' have a name - I don't know very much terminalogy yet)?
Anyways, here are the specs from what I understand: I have the motherboard hooked up to an Antec 380 watts power supply. From what it reads on the supply, it can send out 35 amps with 5 volts, 18 with 12 volts, 28 with 3.3 volts, .5 with -5 volts, 1 amp with -12 volts, and 2 amps with 5 volts.
The system has a linksys ethernet card installed into it, along with a simple 8 meg video card I had from a previous computer (AGP). I have 256 megs of ddr ram, and 3 hard drives installed (primary=20 gigs, primary slave = 10 gigs, and the third has 8 gigs). I have a standard 3.5 floppy drive installed, and also a 4 by 4 by 24 cd-rom drive installed.
I have it hooked up as follows: Two hard drives are installed on one of the two normal IDE ports. I have a cd-rom drive installed on the other one, and a 3.5 floppy drive installed as well. Because I have two other slots for more hard drives, I have a third hard drive installed on one of the other IDE ports, but no matter what (even if I take away a IDE device, like the back-up hard drive or the cd-rom drive) the computer won't recognize that another hard drive exists if I try and install another one.
Lastly, I have windows XP installed if it matters.
Well anyways, essentially I have two problems, with both pertaining to the IDE ports on my motherboard. One, I can't seem to get the IDE port that my cd-rom drive is installed on to recognize either the cd-rom drive or anything else I connect to it when I try and install two devices with the same cable. Also, on the two spare IDE ports on my computer I can't seem to get any use out of the second port. This problem only seems to occur though when I have one hard drive installed at a time - in other words, both slots (if I remember right) will recognize a single hard drive, but if I have a slot connected to a drive then nothing I do will seem to get the computer to recognize another one on the other slot.

Starting in Firefox 14, Firefox will guess an address and place it in the address bar (AutoFill feature). If you have ever connected to the site using a secure (HTTPS) connection, then Firefox will try to connect security to the address suggested by the AutoFill feature. To work around this you can:
* Edit the address to force Firefox to interpret your entry literally. For example, if there is a trailing / you can remove it.

Problem with socket programming-connecting to port 13

Hi, I am learning JAVA, and we are on the subject of sockets. I am trying to make this program to connect to port 13, get the time, and print it to the console. This is my code:

2011 Macbook Pro 17" Thunderbolt port "No Device Connected"

I have a 2011 (early) 17" Macbook Pro (8,3)
Core i7 - 2.2
Boot Rom: MBP81.0047.B27
SMC: 1.70f6
Running Yosemite 10.10
I recently purchased a Akitio Thunderdock.
***It does not mount and when I check the system report, the thunderbolt bus shows "No Device Connected."
I reset the PRAM numerous times.
Reset the SMC.
Everything is plugged in correctly, with a proper thunderbolt cable.
When I attach the thunderbolt cable to the MBP, the blue LED on the on the dock lights up. (meaning link connected)
But the thunder dock will not mount.
Thunderbolt specs:
Route String: 0
Link Status: 0x101
Firmware Version: 20080d.0
Status: No device connected
Port Micro Firmware Version: 1.2.1
Before I got the dock I used (and still do) use the thunderbolt port with a mini display adapter to connect a 2nd display.
(works fine for this function.)

I tested the Thunderdock with my GF's Macbook Air (2013) it mounts fine and sees every port on the dock (USB3, eSATA, FW800).

When I hooked my nano up to my computer today, the screen went black with a silver apple icon on it...it's still all lite up and on...but it won't change from that screen.
And my computer says, "Device connected to USB port has malfunctioned and is not recognized", so it won't show up in iTunes.

Thunderbolt port No device connected

Just purchased a new tb harddrive and when I connect it to my Macbook Pro 17 (early 2011) it doesn't recognize it? I am running Mavericks. It doesn't show up in disc utillity and if you look in system profiler under thunderbolt it says No device connected, Firmware Version: 13.0-2.8 and Port Micro Firmware Version: 1.2.1
Tried SMC and PRAM reset but no change.
I have another Macbook Pro 13 (late 2012) running Lion and it connected directly without issues so I know the drive and the TB cable works great.
There are no updates in the Appstore app that shows up so I was wondering if there is any firmware update for the TB port I need to download separate?

Why can I not connect any apple i pad to our e fibre. All other devices connect no problem

We are a tourism service provider and since we have upgraded to e fibre we are not able to connect any apple i pads to our WiFi.All othe devices connect no problem. What is the solution to this issue.

EA6500 doesn't show device connected to 5 port workgroup switch

I just replaced a defective Linksys e4200 with an ea6500. After some help over the phone, I got it up and working, but one computer on my local network doesn't show up.
I had connected an 8 port 10/100 Linksys switch to my 4200, and my wife's computer was connected to that. Her computer shows the ip address as 192.168.1.133 and it is connected to the internet with my new router. But the ea6500 doesn't show a device with the ip address. Instead it shows what it calls a Network device with ip address 192.168.1.130.
How can I see the devices connected to the 5 port switch and determine what ip addresses they have been assigned?

I am using a switch with my network with an EA router and it shows the devices correctly. Turn off the computer that is not showing up in the device list and check if any device will show as offline adter that. Remove it from the device list and reboot the router afterwards. Once the router is ready, open the router page again and power on the computer and check if it will be detected correctly. Hope this helps.
Edit: Check and make sure that you have the latest firmware loaded. If not upgrade the firmware and do a reset after the firmware upgrade. Check your device list after that.
