Problem in ACS 5.2 on Virtual Machine

Hi Everyone !
I have a problem with the interface on the ACS 5.2 , The inferface work fine but going down unexpectedly and only if I make (for example) a ping to the default gateway it come back.
Please somebody can help me ??
Regards.
Rodrigo

We say that it's not tested by cisco, You will be able to install ESX 4.1 just fine but there might be some issues with services/processes . In that case TAC won't support those issues. Vsphere is a Vmware  managment tool. ACs 5.x doesn't support/run on vspehere. ACS 5.3 should  officially support ESX 4.1
Virtual Machine Requirements
The minimum system requirements for the virtual machine must be similar  to the CSACS-1120 Series appliance hardware configuration.
Table 6-1 lists the minimum system requirements to install ACS 5.2 on a VMware virtual machine.
Table 6-1     Minimum System Requirements
Requirement Type Minimum Requirements
CPU
Intel Core2; 2.13 GHz
Memory
4 GB RAM
Hard Disks
500 GB of disk storage
NIC
1 GB NIC interface
Hypervisor
VMware ESX 3.5 or 4.0
Note You  can use VMware Server 2.x only for an evaluation version of ACS 5.2.  For an evaluation version, the disk space must be between 60 GB and 500  GB. Evaluating ACS 5.2
For evaluation, ACS 5.2 can be installed in a VMware Server 2.x virtual  machine or a VMware ESX virtual machine. When evaluating ACS 5.2, you  can configure less disk space in the virtual machine, but a minimum disk  space of 60 GB is required.

  • ODBC Problems with SQL Server 2012 on Virtual Machine

I am having problem with my application after my IT department upgraded to SQL Server 2012 with error "ConngetDataToModify.vi:1"<ERR>Object 0x2222222 is not valid.  I have 4 servers running the same executable without problem before the upgraded. However, after the upgrade 2 of these Server are having the problem with the ODBC connection. Here are my setup, the application was created using LabView8.5, we have 2 physical server box running Window Server 2003, 2 Virtual Machine on Windows Server 2008, and a Virtual Machine with SQL 2012 Server. The 2 physical server running the executable without a problem after the upgrade, but the 2 Virtual Server were unable to connects to the ODBC connection. Anyone have any idea why this is happening , it is the problem with compatibility between my application with Server 2008 and SQL 2012 Server, or is there a problem with both beings Virtual Servers? As I said, the 2 physical Server seem to be running without any problem with the upgrade.

My guess is that the problem is not specifically with LV. This should be relatively easy to check if you create a UDL file and double click it. This opens a Microsoft wizard which allows you to configure and test DB connections (the UDL file itself is basically just a text file which holds a connection string). If it doesn't work there, it won't work in LV.
As for what the actual problem is, a common culprit is the firewall, which is easy enough to check by disabling it. Another option is the surface area configuration of SQL Server, which will not allow network connections unless you tell it to.
It should probably also be noted that LV 8.5 is not officially supported on Windows Server. I'm assuming that's not the issue, but be aware of it.

  • Problem when migrate MS Exchange to virtual machine

    Hi,
I have a SMTP node defined in my Solution Manager which send mails to external MS Exchange host without problems.
There is a project for migrate Exchange to a virtual machine. When I modify the SCOT configuration for send mails to new virtual host, i get an error connection message.
I check the exchange relay for my SAP machine and it looks right. There is no problems with net connections between sap system host and exchange host.
Is necesary any special configuration or adaptation in SAP when migrate exchange server to a virtual machine???
    Thanks for all.

  • Problems with Disc Permissions for Java Virtual Machine

    hi,
My machine (10.6.6) crashed. I had the spinning beach ball.
Force Quit and On/Off did nothing.
I needed to unplug and remove the battery to restart.
After that, I did Repair Disk Permissions.
It finds a bunch of things for Java Virtual Machine/1.6.0/jdk
    It says it fixes it.
But if I reboot and and run Repair Disk Permissions again,
it still finds the same problems.
How do I get it fixed?

    Hi,
these permission errors are normal. There's nothing to be worried about. If you search around (you did search around first, right?) you'll find that most, if not all, Snow Leopard users see these messages.

  • Problem installing SCE 2010 on a virtual machine

I'm having issues while installing SCE on a clean Hyper-V virtual machine running Windows 2008 R2.
    I've tried several options:
    - all-in-one from scratch, no SQL or serverroles/features installed -> error 1603
    - seperate SQL and SCE Management Server -> Management server installation fails, error 1603
Different variations including and excluding reporting and VM Management with the same results.
I then went and tried to install tbe Management server on a physical box -> success!
However, I can't use this box for SCE and need to virtualize the whole thing.
I'll dig through the SCE setup log files to see where it goes wrong.
In the mean time, any ideas/suggestions anyone?

    Hi Guys,
I am having the exact same issue. I have verified all prerequisites and can find absolutely nothing I am doing wrong with regards to what is prescribed in the guides. I am also trying to install SCE 2010 on a Hyper-V guest on Windows Server 2008 64Bit. I
tried several times and troubleshooted my way through all the blogs. This is what I have done:
    Re-imaged the server (twice),
Verified NetBios and FQDN is similar,
Opened all required ports first and also disabled firewall eventualy,
    Using Domain Admin account,
Removed ISS and reinstalled(SCE still complaing IIS needs configuration),
Removed ISS again and let SCE setup fix prerequistes (SCE still complaining IIS needs configuration),
Also below please find my exact log... The sucess of my SCE 2010 installation is VERY KEY for us, but I believe for the product team as well. We are busy building an Enteorise Management Architecture in a hosted/multi-tennant environment and at this moment
our POC is a showstopper :(.

  • Problem to connect to VMware virtual machine in VMM

I have a problem to connect to the VMware virtual machine console through the VMM Admin Console. I get the message "For a connection with this virtual VMware machine necessary ActiveX object is not installed. Would like you to install the VMware ActiveX element now?"
If I click "yes", IE opens. To the installation of this ActiveX element I've added the web access side of the VMware-Host to the trustworthy sites in IE. I've also disabled the strengthened security configuration for IE. But it did not help.
    What can I still try?
    Thx

The most common problem getting the activeX installed is that the VMware infrastructure web portal has not been setup completely. It is from that portal that the activeX is downloaded and installed. Ensure that the VMware infrastructure portal has been setup
and configured for SSL. The Url we attempt to get theactiveX from is https://HostName/ui/plugin/msie/vmware-mks.cab
Uhm, yea, that URL is invalid. Maybe it was for vCenter 3.x? or 4.0 only? Does not resolve on v4.1 :(
If you are having trouble getting the activeX installed there are a couple of workarounds. One workaround is to install the VMWare Infrastructure Client onto your machine where you are running the VMM Admin Console. The Infrastructure Client installation
installs VMWare's activeX along with its own client.
Tried that... it doesn't use ActiveX anymore (still 4.1) so no go :(
Another workaround is to login to the VMware Infrastructure Web Access portal and one time connect to a VM. This will also download and install the activeX and let it work.
Tried that... it doesn't use ActiveX anymore (still 4.1) so no go :(
So basically I need either the SCVMM guys to figure out to do this in the new version from vmware or I need some vmware experts to tell me where I can find this activex component...

  • Disconnecting WEB SSL VPN client windows 7 to remote windows 7 virtual machine

    Good morning,
my problem, common to other colleagues who use Windows machines 7 Professional is this:
I connect to WEB SSL VPN Cisco from Client Windows 7 Home Premium Explorer-9 to a virtual machine Windows 7 Professional using a specific professional audience and vpn user. I access the Terminal Services window (attached JPG) with a list of links to virtual machines.I connect to the virtual machine in Remote Desktop Full Screen mode and log in with the same user and password. For the connection is installed an add-type control ActiveX CISCO Portforwarder Control version 3.1.0.1, file name -> cscopf.ocx.
Problem: The session window once inside the virtual machine disappears and disconnect from the virtual machine back in the window of choice of Terminal services available. This always happens and there is no way to maintain a stable connection. With modality not FULL SCREEN, the session window would seem to remain stable but however is impossible to work in a small window.
This problem is raised after the update windows 7 to SP1 both Home premium and Professional. In fact before the update the connection is stable. The update to SP1 update the RDP client microsoft to version 6.1.7601.17154 from version 6.1.7600 but i do not know if this the cause of the problem.
Have you an update of CISCO active-x to fix the problem? I cancelled the file and download the last version but the problem remains.
Workaround: Use local virtual machine with xp or windos 2003 and access form this operating system but I consider absurd to use a local
virtual machine to access a service which should be directed
Note: This problem does not occur if the VPN session to the virtual machine Windows 7 is launched from a host machine running Vista Home Premium with RDP Client 6.0. My previous PC had this OS and I was working in an absolutely stable by performing the same type of connection.
Host Operating System: OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
OS virtual machine accessed via ssl web vpn: OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    Can you help?Thank you.
    Carmelo Orlando
    No

The same problem here as well.
I am using a Win7 PC to connect to an Win Vista PC via SSLVPN. Once i logged into the remote PC, the session is disconnected.
Do we have any corrections from Cisco for the moment?

  • Virtual Machine - high disk response time

    Hi Everyone,
Got something strange happening in our lab at the moment and was wondering if anyone had experienced the same thing (and maybe has a solution).
Our lab environment in a nutshell:
2x Windows 2012 Hyper hosts cluster connected to a "home-made" SAN based on Windows 2012 iSCSI target.
Each Hyper-V host has two 1Gbps network cards to connect to the SAN via the Microsoft iSCSI initiator, with MPIO in load-balancing mode (least queue depth).
The SAN (Windows 2012 server with iSCSI target) has 4x 1Gbps cards, teamed two by two, so presenting two IP addresses used by each hosts to connect to it (via MPIO).
The disk subsystem on the Windows 2012 SAN is an external HP storage works with 25x HP 500 SATA disks, connected to the server via an INTEL RAID controller with 2x 240GB SSD caching enabled for read/write.
The iSCSI network is on a dedicated HP switch, with flow-control and jumbo frame enabled (tested ok).
    Now the problem:
I've built a few virtual machines on the two hyper-v nodes and I'm getting very bad disk response time as soon as there is an increase in the disk traffic.
When the virtual server is doing very little, I get a normal 6-8ms, but I soon as I increase the traffic (by for example copying a big file, or installing an application), this figure shoots up to 200ms, 300ms and more!
So I first thought that it was my disk subsystem (and the SAN server), but while the spikes are happening within the virtual machine, the disks on the SAN Server are sitting at about 10ms, with some spikes to about 20ms (which is pretty good and what I would
expect to see within the VM because of the SSD cache).
I then thought it could be the network, but during those times of activity, the network does not get saturated at all. Barely 150Mbps to 200Mbps per link.
I even tried to disable MPIO and run everything across one Ethernet link, but still the same result.
Am I missing something here? doing something wrong? or is this expected behaviour?
    Thank you,
    Stephane

    Hi,
VR38DETT is right, if you want to use more ISCSI bandwidth or redundancy you must use the MPIO method, Multipath I/O (MPIO) is a feature that provides support for using multiple
data paths to a storage device. Multipathing increases the availability of storage resources by providing path failover from a server or cluster to a storage subsystem.
    More information:

  • Problems PXE booting Gen 2 Virtual Machines after Upgrading to Windows Server 2012 R2

    My Current Setup:
I have two virtual machines set up with Hyper V on my Windows Server 2012 Server.
VM1: Configured to boot from an ISO file and runs Clonezilla server.
VM2: Configured to PXE boot using a legacy network adapter, and with a passthrough 250Gb hard disk.
These two VMs are connected to an external Virtual Switch, which allows physical machines to PXE boot to the Clonezilla server.
For the past few months I have been using this setup for two purposes:
    1. To clone physical machines to the Clonezilla virtual server (as a backup).
    2. To restore those image to the second VM if I find that need to get access to the files on the original image..
This has worked perfectly, except for the fact that the speed of the legacy network adapter on the second VM (which is required to PXE boot) is very slow. But I know this is because of the limitations in how the legacy adapter works...
    Now my problem:
I found out that Gen 2 VMs allow you to PXE boot without having use a legacy network adapter, allowing me to image back to the VM faster. So I upgraded the Server to Server 2012 R2 . I then created the same two virtual machines on the R2 server. I can still
PXE boot the Gen 1 VM to the Clonezilla Server but I cannot get the Gen 2 VMs to PXE boot properly. They get an IP address from the Clonezilla Server but then just stop with the following screen. (note: I have disabled the Secure Boot).
Are Gen 2 VMs unable to pull down images from anything other than a WDS Server?

    Hi J,
    >>Unfortunately WDS is not a solution for us as it is dependent on the PC being part of a domain
If you would like to make the client not join to the domain, please check the box before “Do not join the client to a domain after an installation.”  In addition, make sure not to set the client to the domain in the unattend file and do not prestage
    the computer in AD. "

    Hi Denis,
This looks like a memory issue, similar problems have been posted on this forum before.
    Change the following params.
    -XX:PermSize=2048m
    -XX:MaxPermSize=2048m
    Also,
See SAP note 709140 and the referenced notes.

2010,2009,2008,2007,2006,2005If that is really the output from that query, then both your virtual machine and your "real world" are broken. On all 4 versions of Oracle I have available, I get:
    SQL> SELECT ROWNUM + 2000 - 1 AS YIL
      2  FROM DUAL
      3  CONNECT BY ROWNUM <= 2010 - 2005
      4  ORDER BY ROWNUM + 2000 - 1 DESC;
           YIL
          2004
          2003
          2002
          2001
          2000Which is what I would expect given that 2010 - 2005 = 5.
Perhaps if you showed an actual cut and paste from a sqlplus session on each machine someone might be able to help, however, I'm inclined to agree with sb92075 that it is a data issue in your real query.

  • Problems attaching a new data disk on a Suse Virtual Machine

    Hi!
I loose a Suse 11 Virtual Machine after attacing a 2nd data disk. When I reboot it, the machine freezes and give no response.
I've downloaded the OS disk and created a new VM on my PC's Hyper-V. The VM does nothing, after Lilo the screen turns black and nothing hapens.
I've created a new VM and when have attached the 2dn data disk the problem occurs again.
Please, how can I get some support about this bug? I need a Suse VM, may I wait a correction or try another cloud service?
    thanks

Hello Susie, thanks for you help!
I use to host my VMs in US East. The used images was 'SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3'. I always use the last version and Standard type. The first VM was configured about november'2014, and the second I used the 2015/01/27 release.
I've attached 2 empty disks in both situations, always with RW cache:
    In the first VM:
     - 1st disk with 1023GB
     - 2nd disk with ~50GB
    In the second VM:
     - 1st disk with 1023GB
     - 2nd disk with 1023GB
I've configured the first disk and worked in the VM. With them online I've attached the second disk and rebooted after configure fstab (pointing to /dev/disk/by-id/nnnnnnnnn). After this reboot the machine freezes.
    best regards

  • Strange problem with virtual machines backup (Hyper-V 2012R2)

    Hi
I have a strange problem with backup of virtual machines in one of my Hyper-V environments. Let me describe how does it looks like: There are two physical servers - HP DL360 G8. They are used as hosts for four virtual machines - domain controllers in two domains.
Each of them runs one DC in every domain. I've configured backup "inside" every virtual machine (with Windows Server Backup tool), in its operating system, because domain controllers should have their system state, regularly backuped, etc. Backup
is made on the network share - all machines to the same server as destination. And now the case - two virtual server are backuped as expected - the operation takes 3 - 4 minutes and is always succeded. But in case of two remaining it looks as below:
    - Backup operation starts (is scheduled).
    - Volume shadow copy is made.
    - The first partition of VM starts to be copied. It's Windows 2012 R2 Generation2 VM, so it has EFI, Recovery and C: partition. EFI is as first and at this moment backup stucks for a 2-3 hours! Progress of copying is 0%. After for example 3 hours this partition
is completed and starts the next (disk C:). And again - it freezes for a few hours and suddenly is pushed. As a result the backup is made successfully, but it takes for example 10 hours.
Both "dodgy" VMs are on separated hosts. All four of them were installed in the same time. I tried to change destination to locally connected disk, but no result. It's interesting as well, that after rebooting VM, the first backup is made normally,
but every next has described problem again. In EventLog I can't find any errors, I don't know how to diagnose such case precisely, etc. Have you got idea what can cause such behaviour or where on the server should I look for some hints?
    Thanks
    Marcin

    Hi Marcin,
    >>that after rebooting VM, the first backup is made normally, but every next has described problem again.
    It shouldn't happen .
To narrow this issue down , Please try to backup an Gen1 VM and check the result .
    Best Regards
