Problem in ACS5.1 : "EAP session timed out", "RADIUS Request dropped "

Hi .
Part of my access points do not want to authenticate wi-fi users (through Radius server and Microsoft AD) .
The scheme is: wi-fi PC-access point -ACS server 5.1 (Radius)-Microsoft AD
After I  configured some AP, next logs we can see :
EAP session timed out (many)
RADIUS Request dropped (many)
Could not establish connection with ACS Active Directory agent
User's Groups retrieval from Active Directory failed
The user is not found in the internal users identity store.
Another part of devices (AP) works well.
Anyone can help me to solve this problem please?

Hi Nicolas.
In logs usually we see some steps of beginning relations between devices. But here we see only one log line:
What can it mean?
The other messages seem to indicate that there is a problem with your AD. Did you test the bind ? Can you retrieve the AD groups list from ACS ?
Yes, we tested relations between AD and ACS, AD groups list retrieve fine from AD. In addition half of devices in network works fine: wi-fi devices authenticates excellent .
Do you use AD with the ACS for another part of your network that would be working fine ?
Yes, there is single AD and ACS.

  • ACS 5.1 Failure: 5411 EAP session timed out -- Wired 802.1X, machine-authentication

    Hi guys,
I have a strange error here and I`m really disappointed.
We currently try to do "Wired-802.1X" with our Windows XP SP3 Clients with EAP-TLS and "machine-only" authentication.
We use ACS5.1 to authenticate the clients. At about 50% of the clients authentication works fine.
At the other clients we can see a strange error at the ACS.
At the Reports page --> "Authentications - RADIUS - Today" we see that a client is trying to authenticate, but this fails with the Failure Code: 5411 EAP session timed out.

    Hi @all,
I have this issue too. It occurs in our wireless environment. The problem for me is that I don't know which client (or clients) causes the error. The error occur many times per day.

  • ACS 1121 error 5411 EAP session timed out w/Peap Wireless logins

I am having issues that came up in the last month where all of my wireless client devices (using 4400 WLC and AC 1121 Appliance w/Active Directory integration) using PEAP MSCHAP2 are being prompted multiple times one after another for their userid/password.
This is very intermitant with clients sometimes being able to authenticate on the first try and later in the day getting prompted 20 times for authentication before it works.  This affects all brands of laptops/tablets/smartphones and other devices.
My ACS log files show an error of 5411 EAP session timed out.
I have had a TAC case open for over a month but they still haven't found a solution.
Has anyone run into this and have any thoughts?  I have already increased my timeout on the controller from the default 2 seconds to 8 seconds but the delay between prompts asking for authentication credentials on clients is less than a second.
    What do you think?
    Jim

We are running 5.2.0.26.11 on the ACS engine and 7.0.240.0 on the WLC's.  The certificate on the ACS was expired, but for over a year without issues prior to about a month ago (our clients do have the verify certificate box unchecked).  I did renew the certificate on the ACS (self signed, just told it to renew) but that didn't help.
The only thing the clients get are multiple prompts for authentication usually a second or 2 apart even though my timeout on the WLC is set to 8 seconds.  A debug on the WLC shows the following.  Any ideas on what could be the issue?

  • Is anyone else having problems transferring their digital copy of "Haywire"? Session Timed Out?

I recently purchased the Bluray for "Haywire" that included a digital copy.  I have followed the directions for download into iTunes included w/ the Bluray that directs me to www.lionsgatedigitalcopy.com/redeem.  I have entered the code on multiple occasions w/ the same result - Session Timed Out in iTunes.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  I have contacted Lionsgate support and they say they are not distributing "Haywire" in the US and therefore cannot help.  Very odd.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Found the Solution:
I actually figured it out.  If you just go directly to iTunes, open the Redeem Code page, and input your promotional code without ever going to the website it tells you to, it works splendedly.  Not sure why letting the website open iTunes screws it up.

  • Application Server Session timed out (-11) (lack of debug in internal ITS)

    Dear Sirs,
I get the error message below, when I try to run a IAC through internal ITS. The IAC worked for a while (<30 minutes), and then suddenly this error appeared.
I can see that this error message has been asked about previously, but then in connection with statefull/stateless BSP applications (e.g "Session timed out thread", on this forum May 31 2005).
In this thread the solution is apparently to alter the 'rdisp/plugin_auto_logout', is this the case for us as well?
I have read Error handling using the ICM , but not able to actually beeing able to pinpoint the problme.
All our other IAC are working it is only a problem with one of them. The problem is still valid even if I log on with different user, and the error is still there now even after two hours. The problem transaction is a altered version of the WSTA, and I am able to get the first screen where I enter the store number.
Any tips or suggestions to pinpoint the error?

    Dear Sirs,
The error has been solved. It was a matter of an illegal input sendt to the RetailHeaderFunction.
However, this makes way for another question.
On the standalone ITS, it was possible to get error messages which indicated where the code contained errors, when it was runned.
How is it possible to make the internal ITS gives better feedback (errors?), and show where the error is?

  • Redeem itunes card due to session timed out?

unable to redeem itunes card due to session timed out?

I had the same, frustrating problem, then happened onto a process that worked for me. I wrote it up in the following post: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3541003
Hope that works for you, too.

  • I'm trying to redeem my itunes gift card and i get the message "session timed out".  does anyone know why i'm not able to redeem my card and why i get this message?

i'm trying to redeem my itunes gift card and i get the message "session timed out."  does anyone know why i'm not able to redeem my card and why i get this message in stead?

I've been having the same issues too, and thought it was just my outdated computer or account?!
Every time I try to purchase a song, "session has timed out" shows up after I click "agree" to the terms!? I seem to be in the exact same scenario as 'SportsBarn' above:  Itunes support have replied repeatedly with the same "solutions" but nothing has helped or even been applicable.  I have an older laptop, 2005 Powerbook running OS X 10.4 Tiger so it's not compatible with the latest iTunes 10.5.2 which requires minimum OS X 10.5. I've been using the balance already in my iTunes account (from redeemed giftcards over the past few years) with no problem, until recently (my last successful purchase was October 2011). I wonder if it's the older OS or just a redemption glitch even with newer computers?

  • Why do I keep getting a session timed out message?

Mac OS 10.4.11, iTunes 9.2.1(5). I successfully ordered two iTunes gift certificates the other day, but now when I try to place an order for another gift certificate, complete the info and click continue, the session timed out message appears. This has been happening for several days. I have emailed iTunes support, my account is valid, but support has no answer for the problem. I am able to download and play free music, etc.

Disable your firewall and any antivirus and similar software.

  • Why do I get a session timed out message?

Why do I get a session timed out message in iTunes when I try to redeem a gift card?

I had similar problem. My old Mac (also OS X (10.4.11) was out of sync. The reset clock strategy I read about elsewhere did not work for me. But, selecting Manage > Change Country (at the bottom of itunes window) and selecting (reselecting?) my country did correct the problem.

  • Session timed out

Hi, I am trying to load a Podcast from Podomatic to iTunes.  I have followed the Help instructions but when I try to submit the RSS URL I get a message saying "Session Timed Out, try again later" ..... any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

This may mean that the server holding the rss feed is responding too slowly for iTunes. You could try checking how it works in iTunes by subscribing manually. From the 'Advanced' menu choose 'Subscribe to Podcast' and enter the feed URL. If all is well the podcast will appear in the 'Podcasts' section, listing all the episodes and downloading the latest one.
If you get an error message, or if the podcast takes a long time to appear, then you may have to chase up a problem with the server.
If it's OK, and you still get a problem when submitting, I should leave it for a few hours and try again - there may be a hold-up of some sort at the Store end (perhaps if too many people are submitting at the same time).

  • Itunes keeps saying session timed out

I am trying update an one of my iTunes accounts. When I trying to deauthorize all computers (because I no longer have most of them), I am repeatedly asked to login. My account says that there are 4 Downloads pending, but when I click Download I get a screen that says "session timed out".  I have reset the Internet time which one page said might be the problem to no avail.  I am working on a PC laptop.

Possibly your server is responding too slowly. In iTunes, from the 'Advanced' menu choose 'Subscribe to Podcast'. Enter your feed URL. See whether you can subscribe there, and whether there is an appreciable delay.

  • Try to update my iPhone 4 but after download it says error session timed out any ideas how to fix it

When I try to update my iPhone I get error message session timed out can anyone help

I had the same problem! I don't know what caused it, possibly slow Internet but I suppose my antivirus or other software could have affected it. Maybe it's an iTunes problem.
After restarting the download at least 5 times in iTunes after it timed out, I found this website. I didn't know this before, but you can download the update in your browser and then apply it to your iPhone in iTunes once it finishes. I used Firefox 4 and it downloaded without timing out once. All you have to do is hold down Shift and then click on Update in iTunes and it will prompt you to select the update that you downloaded and it will apply it.
Try this and let me know how it works!
