Problem in activation of datasource

Hi ,
when Iam trying to activate the Datasource from RSA5 , It is asking for TR .When i created my Own TR and saving the object under the Created TR , it is showing the following error . Can you please help me out in this regard .
Error -- SAP names file for XXXXUser locked by another process

Hi,
its already present in another TR or is already active??
Go to the object directory for this data source by selecting it and on the top got->object directory entry->Lock overview.
This will show if its currently locked by some one....delete that TR or assign it to the same TR.

Hi guys,
I am getting this error while activating BC datasources...it is only with my login, rest of the users can work well.
Error:
DataSource 0BP_ACTITLE_TEXT; switch to package BUPA_CENTRAL_DATA_BW is off
this happened with all DS in the BC, the problem occured because while activating initially my connection got disconnected and then this problem started.....
how do i rectify this? any help would be highly appreciated.....

2LIS_04_P_MATNR - Prob in activating the Datasource in R/3

I am trying to activate datasource 2LIS_04_P_MATNR in r/3 in Tcode : rsa6/rsa5 and I am getting a warning that says
The even-numbered length of the DEC field I_DLZ_EX can lead to problems
I serached and found that note : 641744 is applicable.
The solution in the note says that there are 3 options to rectify this error as below:
If the field is not manipulated in the customer exit or elsewhere, no processing is required.
If you change the field, the following possible solutions are available:
You can make sure that the number of the characters does not increase after the manipulation.
If you can change the extract structure of the DataSource without affecting other scenarios (for example, if it was generated in transaction RSO2), you can increase the length of the DEC field (or CURR, QUAN) there to the next odd character (in the example above: from DEC 4 on DEC 5).
If neither of these solutions are possible, you can use a customer append that contains a relevant DEC field (or CURR, QUAN) with the next highest odd length. This can be used for the result of the calculations. This means that you do not have to manipulate the previous field.
I am opting the 3rd option i.e. to use an append structure with a field QUAN(in my case) that has next highest odd length
I am using the field BDMNG(length 13) from table RESB. The feild mentioned in the warning have length 12.
The problem is still occuring.
Am I able to understand the note correctly or am I missing something?

Thanks Deva. I ignored the warning and went ahead with the enhancement.
After the activation of datasource I deleted and filled the setup tables, but the NPRT log showed 0 records.
Then after reading few threads at SCN I came to a conculsion that my setup table is refering to view CAUFV which does not contain data for order category AUTYP 10(PP Production Order) and therefore the data extracted is 0.
There was a thread mentioning the same problem that said (steps to fill the setup tables for 2LIS_04_PECOMP(Repetitive manufacturing Component view)) that the solution was to run OLIFBW Tcode after completing OLI4BW setup. So i did the same. But still my NPRT log still shows 0 records.
Also I checked AUFK table. It does not contain any data for AUTYP 10.
Please advise what should be the correct way to solve this.

Problem in activating 0sd_c03 IC

Here i am facing problem in activating BC IC 0sd_c03 .I have installed the IC with data flow before and when i migrate from 3.5 to 7 . here for the datasource 2lis_13_vditm , the transfer rules are migrated successfully but here i am getting problem when i create transformation on update rule . The problem is with the routine net weight kg,gross weight kg and with the volume . here that infoobject has some routine in update rule and when i created the transformation , in that transformation there is no routine for that infoobject and also there is no mapping present for that infoobject . plz help me in solving this.

Hi Ravi,
If you any start routine written on your Update rules or transformations, then when you open that one you will have Display start routine.
If you don't have any routines, then you will have create start routine which implies it doesn't contain any start routine.If you want you can create start routine by click on create start routine.
Creating routines is purely based on business requirement.
when we go for creating routines:
1)If you want to populate some new filed in target based on 2 or 3 fields from source.
2)If you want to delete some records based on certain condition
there are few more scenarios

If it is enough of one to one mapping for you business, then no need to use any routines just do one to one mapping in transformation

Activated all datasources by mistake

Hi all,
I have the following problem - while I was trying to activate in RSA5 an FI data source, by mistake (I didn't click on the Select the Subtree +/- Button) I Activated ALL datasources (around 1046) which were added in a request.
In order to solve this I compared the Development with the Production, and deleted all the Data sources which were not in Production, and also deleted all the objects from the request.
Everything seemed ok. But, now that i did the replication of Data Sources from that system, in the BI system, I encounter the following problem: no data source has "arrived", other than the ones already existing, but for the ones already there, it has added a modified version (by me).(status changed from active to modified)
How can I undo this? It does not bother me, but the next time someone does a change here, problems may occur.
Please help!!!

Hi
Use the program RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL to activate the data sources.
now goto R3 system --> RSA6 check the data source which you want are active or not.
If not activate them and replicate them into BI system.

Activation of datasource :Error modified version

Hi All , Change icon is greyed out is there any program that i can run to activate the real estate datasource. or what is the other way to fix it
1. i activated the datasource in rsa5
2. it comes in rsa6
3. then in bi 7.0 i replicate the datasource but it shows modified version and change and activate button is greyed out.
please help me asap since its a BMW first deliverable and all my datasoources are in modified version. Kindly help

There are issues still pending in our report design. Besides the above issue, we have also got another issue related to Absenteeism column.
Example:
The report needs to show the absenteeism column on a monthly basis. If an employee goes on a unscheduled leave for 10 days which are scattered in two months (Ex: he takes leave from 28th April till 7th May), then if the report is executed for April, for that Employee, it should show only 3 days, i.e. 28th, 29th & 30th. The remaining days have to be displayed in the Absenteeism column of May report, i.e 1st, 2nd...till 7th.
There is one record whenever an employee goes on an unscheduled Leave.

Hence this record has to be split into two, based on the no. of days the employee has gone on an unscheduled leave in both the months like below.

Error while activating the datasource during migration

When we were trying to migrate the datasources from 3.x to BI 7.0, we are encountering an error with the activation of the datasource. The datasource itself has been migrated but the ativation log gives and error

Problem while activating message mapping

I am facing a problem while activating message mapping in IR.It says Object being edited by XXXX and cannot be activated.It's giving my user name itself and even it doesn't allow to go to edit mode even.But I am not opening it twice.How to monitor all the XI users logged into the XI system and find the users using IR and ID objects.Please help in this regard.

Suddenly when I am login in Portal with J2EE_ADMIN or any user , I am getting error
You are not authorized to access this application; contact your system administrator
and when I am going to create user in identity management I am getting below error
Current user has user creation permissions in the UME, but cannot create users in the back-end system (data source). The original and possibly untranslated message was: "No active writeable datasource found for user creation, check your Persistence Configuration.".
I have searched all related treads in SDN but no success
Please help.

I was searching the community because I had this same error and there was no answer of how it was fixed. So I'm sending how I fixed today in a customer environment.
1. Go to portal http://<portal>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcsecumewdumeadmin/UmeAdminApp
- select configuration
- folder "sap system based in abap"
- do the conection test
If the test fails, log on in client 001 and change user SAPJSF:
- assign role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION (only this one) and one profile that has permission to RFC logon
- you can change the password too
STOP/START ABAP+JAVA
Go again to the portal above and test connection again. The tests should now be OK.
2. Go to portal http://<portal>/irj
- Log on with administrator user
Now you should be able to create an user.

Regarding Activation of Datasource error

We have replicated datasource from R3 source system and while trying to activate it was posting error
of while activation of transfer structure with conversion exits., We are using 7.0 datasource only.
We checked at RSA3 of datasource and data is coming successfully., we tried with program transferstruc activate program
and rsds-datsource program but couldnt able to get rid of error.
Can you please help me to resolve the issue of what to be done for activation of

error while activation of datsource: Generation of conversion exits and PSA update...
