Problem in Add/Delete fields in Extract Structure.

Hi All,
When I want to delete some fields from the extract structure it gives me " " error.
Steps:
1. In R/3, T-Code LBWE -> Browse till DS ( ex: 2LIS_02_ITM)
2. Inactive the DS by clicking on 'Active' under Update column
3. Click on 'Maintenance' link under Structure column.
4. Remove a field MCEKKO-KUNNR from left side to right side of the window.
5. Click on continue button.
It gives the below error while generating the extract structure.
"MC03BF0" must be a flat structure. You can not use internal tables, strings,references, or structures as components.-
Plz help how to handle this error ? The same error msg is displayed if I want to add few fields to the structure.

i'm using ds 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 in CRM to extract activities related data...
by standard this data source is not supplying some fields which i needed... but when i checked in 'roosfield' table and even in extract structure 'CRMT_BW_DS_ACTIVITY' it is showing the those fields which i required...
how can i get these fields to data source...
in LO its like...we can select required field from extract sturcture right???
is there any procedure do same with CRM data sources...

Hi,
If the fields are available in ES but not available in DS , then we can Modify the table ROOSFIELD. But, I think, this is some what rude mothod.
Before doing this, It is better to Raise a OSS. They may come out with some SP upgradation.
Search this forum with ROOSFIELD.

Adding one more field in extract structure maintenance

Hi Gurus,
I have already extarcted data to BW using 2LIs_13_Vditm datasource and the deltas are also loaded.
Initially when the extract structure(in LBWE) was maintained in LBWE, the field KTGRM-Acct.Assgnmt group was not selected from the POOL.Now there is a requirement to include that in the maintenance of extract structure.
My question is, can i directly add the field to the datasource in R/3,without any coding in CMOD like in enhancements, and replicate again to BW without disturbing the existing data? OR Do I have to add the field in Trans.Stru, Update rules and cube and goahead loading data.

You can add any field listed in the pool of available fields directly to your LO datasource without enhancing the extract structure and coding in CMOD. But be aware to empty the delta queue and the extraction queue before, otherwise you can't change the extract structure.
After replicating the changed datasource you have to update the relevant infoproviders, update rules and the infosource, because the new field was not known before.
It is also recommended to reload the data from the source system in order to populate the new field for all data.

Need to add one field in standard structure???

open the table in se11 and press append structure in application tool bar

we can enhance the standard tables by using Append structures and customizing includes.
Append structures allow you to attach fields to a table without actually having to modify the table itself. Table enhancements using append structures therefore do not have to be planned by SAP developers. An append structure can only belong to exactly one table.
In contrast, CI_includes allow you to use the same structure in multiple tables. The include statement must already exist in the SAP table or structure. Table enhancements using CI_includes do, however, have to be planned by SAP developers

I like to add PSTLZ field to stucture KOMGG.Is it possible to add table field with the existind structure.If yes how can I do this?kindly help me on this.

in change mode select the button append
create new append which starts from Zpstlz in this komgg structure and add data element and domain to this field and activate with request number
then in field catalogue this field should be visible ,here ends your append
now it is ready to use in condition tables.

Table of origin for a field in extract structure ??

Is there a way to look at the extract structure of a datasource and know the tables from which its pulling the data from ?
I know I can always get them from help.sap.com by going to datasources and can look at the table of origin for a particular field...
I was wondering if I can look at the same information on the system.

we can know get the tables in different ways, the best way and easy way to search the tables is HELP.SAP.COM as you said. you can use communication structure, ST05, SM50.

Adding a new field in extract structure

Want to include New field in the Extract Structure in the Standard Extractor.
Please let me know what are the steps are needed to bring the data for that field in the cube level.

Hi ,
if the data soource is belongs to LO extraction
Option 1- Enhance in LBWE
1. check in LBWE- Maintenance -> check if your required field is available in pool (right hand side).
2. If it is available then send it to left hand side.
3. Save and you will find the new field as part of your extract structure.
4. In LBWE go to datasource maintenance and uncheck the Hide check box for newly added fields and Save the data source.
5. No need to write user exit code for these fields.
after this replicate the data source
and activate the transfer rules using RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL

How to uncheck the hide field in extract structure.

I have enhanced (Appended) a field ZZVATREC to a generic data source created for billing data(A View). This field is as hide field in the extract structure.I am able to unhide the field in change mode but when saving an error is comming like still errors in OLTP source system.
This field is I want to populate by coding and done proper coding also.
I have tried with Roosfield table. but I did am unable to see my appended field in roosfield table for the datasource.
In Rsa3 this field is populated.
Could anyone help me to solve this issue.

Hi Nivas,
The probable reason could be that the feild being appended is either a quantiy or currency feild and hence the definition of the append is not complete.
This requires to mention the currency or unit refernce and then would you be able to unhide.
There are amny posts for this topic in this forum.
Try searchin it, if you have any difficulty making hte change.

Different number of fields in extract structure and Datasource

Hi All,
There is a data source 0FUNCT_LOC_ATTR, which are showing 16 fields in the datasource. But when i went into the extract structure, it shows 25 fields. Is it any kind of bug?

Thanks for your reply. I checked in ROOSOURCE and ROOSFIELD table and found that we activated the datasource somewhere in 14.08.2008 and the delivered version is in 18.11.2008. Now i reactivated the datasource in RSA5 and could see all the fields in RSA6.
Actaully we posted the issue to SAP and they have come back with the same reply what you have mentioned.

Problem in add new fields in xk01

i want to add new customer field in xk01,xk02,xk03, i have append new structure in lfa1.
i am using badi VENDOR_ADD_DATA & VENDOR_ADD_DATA_CS .
when i saved new additional fields using xk02 ,no additional fields values is coming in lfa1 structure .

Problem with EXchange rate field in MBEPOH structure

Hi Experts,
I am working on data transfer of POs from 4.6 to 4.7 using the standard extract program RM06EEEX and then loading it using LSMW.
Problem is with the exchnage rate field(WKURS). Length of this field in MBEPOH is 9 characters in 4.6 and it is 1 character long in 4.7
So the data is getting truncated becuase of this mismatch. Is there any sap note avaliable to correct the field length MBEPOH-WKURS or any other way to pass correct data to the strucure in LSMW.

Maybe you can use Idoc PORDCR1 (Create Purchase Order) as import method in LSMW.
Exchange rate field (WKURS) corresponds to field EXCH_RATE in E1BPMEPOHEADER segment.

Problem with add a field

We have a problem in the KE30. We copied a field but didn't appear the same options that in the original field. In the original appear a table with 4 options but in the field new only appear one and without a description. The table is PAPARTNER and the original field is VRTNR and the new field is inside of an include MCPARTUSR.
I hope someone can help us because is very wreid!!!

Is your new field using the same data element as the field VRTNR does? The VRTNR on the PAPARTNER structure is using the data element VRTNR which has a search help attached to it which is 'PREMV'. There is a search help exit in this 'HRMC_PREM_EXIT_A'. May be there is some code in there that is restricting the data.

Executing program /AFS/RMCSBWXP to fill AFS fields to extraction structures

Hi Gurus,
We are executing the report /AFS/RMCSBWXP in R/3 Prod to implement SAP note 458676 for AFS BW. It is running in background for hours from now (>2 hours).
Any Idea how long this program should be running?

Do we need to fill setup table if we change extract structure of D/S

Hello Experts,
as we are in need of adding new filed to existing delta enable Datasources.
Do we need to fill the setup table if we change the Extract structure of Data source which is already loading Delta data to bw system?
case 1) we are planning to add new field directly in maintain structure in TCode LBWE.
case 2) adding new field to Extract structure and writing relavent code in CMOD.

Hello Ravi,
If you are adding new field to a structure, even though you do not need historical data in the new fields it is a mandate that you have to replicate the datasource and then reinitialize the datasource, in both the cases you have mentioned. The reason for this is, the RSA7 contains your existing structure, as you are changing it, a new replica needs to be created in RSA7. You have to run a INIT without datatransfer, dont need to refill the setup tables for the INIT without data transfer.
After you activate the new fields and poppulate it using CMOD. First transfer all the records in SMQ1 to RSA7, using a V3 update. Then run a delta in BW, by this way you will load all the existing records from source system to BW. Then replicate the datasource and create the required InfoObject and mapping in BW (Please note that without deleting data, you wont be able to change the DataTarget structure unless you are using remodelling in BI 7.0). Delete the datasource entry in RSA7. Runa INIT without datatransfer.
