Problem in adding voice over presentation

Ok so I want to do a voice over narration on my keynote presentation
I go through the steps of adding audio to my presentation, on the recording screen
the red button is not blinking and my voice is not recording onto the presentation can anyone help pls

This is my recommendation.
Step 1) Create your Keynote presentation.
Step 2) Record your speaking part (separately) with an audio recording program.
I recommend Audacity. It's a great free application. You can download Audacity from www.sorceforge.com among other places. You'll also want to get the Audacity LIB file that is needed to export your audio recording to .mp3.
3) From the Keynote Inspector, under the Document tab, go to the audio section and add your new voice recording file to the Soundtrack.
4) From Keynote, go to File, Record Slideshow.
While the audio plays, click through your slides. This is getting the slide change time down.
5) From Keynote, go to File, Export. Make sure to have the following settings:
Playback Uses: Recorded Timing
Include audio (sound files, movie audio): NOT SELECTED
Include the slideshow soundtrack: NOT SELECTED
Include the slideshow recording: SELECTED!!!
Click next and your Keynote presentation should export to a .mov file (keep in mind, this .mov file has no audio. we'll take care of that in the last steps).
6)Open the new .mov Keynote presentation in Quicktime Pro.
7) Open the original .mp3 sound file in Quicktime Pro.
8) Select All of the .mp3 file and then click CTRL + C to copy it.
9) Go back to the .mov Keynote file and Select All. Then go up to Edit > Add to Movie.
This adds your sound and movie file together.
10) Finally click on File > Save As. Select, Save As A Self-Contained Movie and you're done.

Video jerky after adding voice-over

The video imports nicely, but when I do voice-over using a Logitech headphone, the video portion becomes jerky. Something similar was discussed in the forum about a year ago, but it appears that nothing was resolved? Would appreciate help on this. Thanks

No. iMovie converts MP3 format to AIFF anyway. Some have found more stuttering problems with voice-overs.
I'm stuck right now with a half hour video that i managed to finishe editing but can't play or export to tape without terrible stuttering
If you have enough space on your hard drive, you can 'share' your finished movie as QuickTime Full Quality. Import this QT movie into a new iMovie project. It should now play without stuttering, allowing you to export it back to DV tape. If the QT movie plays fine, you can delete the original iMovie.
You can add chapter markers and use this version for iDVD.
I use this method all the time. Sometimes I have had to create QT movie version three times when editing a long or complex iMovie. Even before adding audio, my movies will skip/stutter on playback if I have lots of transitions/effects/total clips. I have learned to edit the movie by cropping the video clips first, adding stills, doing transitions and titles/effects, and adding the audio last. If it starts to skip with the addition of the first audio clip, I delete that clip, share as quicktime, and then work on the quicktime version in a new iMovie and go ahead with adding the audio to that.

Adding voice over

I have been using i-movie for about five years and never needed to add a voice over but I now need to do this on a sports training video where a coach wants to make a training video and then mute the sound and dube his own instructions into the video..so that his voice would be heard and no background. I am using 6 HD and wonder if anyone else has done somthing similar. I assume I might could use a tape recorder and extract the sound and input it into i-movie, etc. Anyone been here before....tks /ej

Another thing to look at in this process is to enable the timeline viewer (the little box with the clock face on it at the left just below the large view of the current clip). Then you can Show the Clip Volume Levels on the View Menu and you will see the volume indicators in each of the video clips. You can now select clips and go to the Advanced menu and Extract Audio. this brings the audio markers down on one of the audio tracks from which you can select one, several or all and delete. The effectively gives you a silent video of the clips you have selected. Now use the suggestion of Rich839 to do the voice over. The advantage here would be that you can preserve the sound of sections of the video either as background or to avoid complete silence when the narrator is not speaking...

Adding voice over to after effects project

Hi,
I'm very new to after effects and so far am mastering the basics and introducing keyframes to adjust opacity, position etc. I'm pretty happy with what I have created thus far on my project, but now I wish to record a voice over on my video. I know I can create a voice over track in audition, but I would like to see the preview of my video while I speak to I can time myself right etc. I have always done this very easily in iMovie.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please even if it means having a preview of my video in audition.

The way you want to do this is a little bit backward for AE. The most common way to work is to import an audio file of the voiceover, and then animate using the voiceover as a reference.
So I'd recommend just recording the voiceover, importing it into AE, then adjusting your AE animation. It shouldn't take very long.

Problem with TTS voices over 8kHz...

When I use the Neospeech voice that comes with Captivate CS6 for text to speech, which is 8kHz, it sounds fine, but when I use the premium voice for the same character from Neospeech, whih is 12kHz, I get some kind of feedback and it sounds awful. I spoke with Neospeech and they tested it ad had the same results and suggested I contact Adobe. Anyone else had this issue?

Actually, it started working fine when I told it to capture
sound at 11kHz.. I should have tried that first, before making a
fuss here, sorry. Looks like some weird glitch, a driver problem
maybe, but anyway, switching to 11kHz seems to have solved
it.

Problem with adding voice track to video podcast

I am working on a video podcast,adn to my horror, if I add extra voice tracks to the imported movie, the frame freezes on whatever was showing when my V/O began. Can this be corrected? another problem, is that the m4v file will not open in Quicktime pro but will open in VLC...

It appears that the Amplitude of the two Audio Clips differ. When you play the Timeline with the Audio Mixer open, do those two Audio Clips show the same Levels, on the VU Meters?
To expand the upper Audio Clip, you can go to the Audio Track Header, and hover the Cursor along that line between the Audio & Video. When the Cursor changes to an equal sign with up/down arrows, click+drag up, to zoom vertically, until the Waveform of that Clip expands, to see it more clearly. Finding that exact spot, where the Cursor changes can take some hovering, but when you see the Cursor change, you know that you are there.

Premiere Pro Voice Over Problems

Hello
I am having problems recording a voice over in PP6.
I am using an external mic via a mic amp and into the line in socket on my mac.
The problem is I can't set any levels as there is nothing showing on the level meter.
I can actually record the VO no problem but need to see and preview the mic level before I start.
Any help appreciated

To add to this post...now when I record my Voice overs, when you playback in the timeline they are running at twice the speed and other times they are very distorted...

Voice over vpn-call not completing

I got a problem,where with voice over vpn. So far my voip calls were running purely on shared IP internet. Today we had tried to make two side a vpn site-to-site tunnel and send traffic thru.vpn is working. (md5,des)
The problem We faced is when i dial a number, the other side party's phone rings for 6-8 seconds and the call gets disconnected.Whether or not the called party answers the call gets disconnected after 6-8 secs. Iam not getting any ring back, while actually other side phone rings. No voice is going thru.
my network is normalpbx--to--Cisco3800 to--Pix--to--QuintumGateway
isdn debug shows Cause code18-no user responding.

No voice over carkit CK-7W bij using Nokia E7.00

this one is new for me.
When using NokiaMaps i can't get voiceguiding over my carkit CK-7W in combination with my E7.
When using a C6 an a N97 i dont have the same problem, an get voice over the carkit.
Anyone?

I was told that in the case of the N8 a similar Symbian S^3 that it was a technical trade-off in Bluetooth implementation, prioritizing optimal use of Bluetooth headsets rather than enabling voice instructions through the carkit.

'Voice Over' Keeps Listing Audiobooks?

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone else experienced this problem. The Voice Over will keep listing my audiobooks if I do the following:
1. Pause the book I was listening to
2. Let it turn itself off
3. Turn the device back on using the center button
By "keep listing", I mean it will continually say the book title and author then the next and it will repeat until I restart.
I love my pod, its just the Voice Over is too annoying to justify being left on. When and if Apple fixes this, I might turn it back on.
So, does anyone else's Nano have this problem?

I just try the log out and log back in thing and it did not turn back on. I then tried restarting all together and it did not turn back on. So i guess it is fixed. I wish i knew what happened to have it turn back on though. I'm really sure how i could have accidentally hit cmd & F5 to turn it on but i guess i must have. I was probably adjusting the volume and some how had my finger on the cmd button instead of 'fn'. Another I D 10 T error lol.

I HAD A PROBLEM WITH ITUNES VOICE OVER ,IT WOULD NOT DOWNLOAD ,IT TIMED OT EVERY TIME . I AM OPRATING FROM A WINDOWS VISTA HOME BASIC SERVICE PACK 2 [32gb]

Adding a voice over on a stand alone presentation

I have used Keynote quite a bit for presentations with a lot of success. I would like to record a voice over for a new presentation and place it in the file. Has anyone had any experience with this?
The presentation should run about 15 minutes max.

Be aware that straight recordings will make your presentation huge.
You can make recordings with *QuickTime Pro* (the registered version) and then convert those to 32kbs AAC or MP3 files (perfect for voice recordings) which bring the file size down dramatically.
If you record those in snippets for each slide, or cut them up using Fission or *MP3 Trimmer* you just drag them into each slide and set them to play on opening or cue.

After upgrading to ios7 I can't open email attachments when I turn on voice over in accessibility. How can I solve this problem??

With the new ios7 upgrade I have noticed that some accessibility features are not as strong. In emails I am now unable to open attachments as although I can see them at the bottom of the email when I touch on them voice over reads the paragraph above and does not allow me to open the attachment. Is this a glitch still to be sorted or can someone help me solve it??

Voice Over Audio Problems

Hey! I've been working with iMovie '08 for just short of a month now, and I've never had any problems; until now. I want to create a Voice Over, which I know how by clicking the Microphone button and then selecting the clip. I did the first one, which worked successfully, I could hear it completely fine. However with the second it recorded, and it showed the waveforms there in the Time Line. Which means it has recorded the sound, however when I go to preview the sound I am unable to hear it. I can hear all other audio (including the previous V.O) and audio from the clips I've filmed, but these. Please can anybody help. Here are my Voice Over statistics:
Clip:
Volume: 100%
Ducking: Unticked
Fade in, Fade Out, Equilizer and Enhance: Unticked
Voice Over:
Built In Microphone ( The little green bars move when I make a noise so it's picking up something)
Input Volume: 100%
Noise Reduction: -45db
The other 2 are both unticked.

Problem with Decklink card during voice over

Hi,
i have PMG5 2.5 GHz with FCS & Blackmagic Decklink extreme card.
all these days i had a great time working on FCP . till i faced a peculiar problem
when i am capturing video from Beta or DV 50 , i am able to select video Only or Audio only , or Video & Audio .
but when iam trying to capture Audio Only option through the the Mic which is connected to the mixer, i am not able to capture audio.
even i have noticed one more strange thing, i have tried Voice Over tool in FCP 5.04 with Decklinik card and i am not able to grab any audio through the Decklink card.
but i can use built in audio for my voiceover.
has anybody come across this kind of problem,
can somebody help me .

your questions is marked as solved, but I haven't seen your question answered, so I might be wasting time. Anyway.
I bumped into the same problem not long ago. I'm using a Multibridge, but the problem and solution are the same. Here's the reply I got from Kristian Lam over at Blackmagic:
In order to get vo tool in Final Cut Pro HD to work, these are the
steps to follow:
1) Video Input in Blackmagic DeckLink preferences is set to match the audio input type. For example, if you're recording via the XLR connectors of your card, then then 'Inputs' under 'DeckLink Video Connections' must set to analog. It doesn't matter if it's component or composite analog video.
2) In the View menu of Final Cut Pro HD, set External Video to “Off”. When finished with the Voice Over tool, set External Video to “All Frames” to use the broadcast monitor.
3) You must have a stable video signal going into the card when using the vo tool or Final Cut Pro HD will not see the audio. (or use a Blackburst generator)
4) Use the Displays menu to set the DeckLink desktop to the same format as the video source, eg. NTSC 720 x 486.
Well, then select your Decklink Card in the Voiceover Input selection. Even after I had done all that, I couldn't see any audio coming into FCP. The solution to that was to raise the Trim at the top of the mixer. I got a nice signal into the Mackie and voilà also sound into FCP.
