  • Problem with Application server

    Hi All,
I'm facing problem with Application Server. When I installed the appserver and started it.. It started with the message " server has been started and some services will run at back". But when I tried stopping it using the stop default server i got the message that there is no server running but when i saw in the task manager i cud see two process running 1) appserver.exe and 2) imqbroker(something).exe so eventually I had to kill it.
Now when I'm trying to start the application server again its giving me this message "CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1" and below is the log file attached if its of any help

    Thanks in advance
    Ajay

The VERY FIRST message in the server log gives you a hint as to what the problem might be. The server thinks you have spaces in your PATH to the application server. Therefore, the solution is to kill the server however you need to (task manager, whatever) and then reinstall it in a path that doesn't contain spaces. That's the low-hanging fruit here; if that doesn't work, well, then we will have to find some other solution.

  • Problem with Application Server Portal 9.0.2.0.1.

I have a problem with Application Server Portal and Wireless 9.0.2.0.1.
Firstly I've installed the infrastructure on a Pentium 3 866Mhz 512Mb of Ram, with Windows 2000 Server (Italian) service pack 2.
I've maintained all predefined settings and I've chosen the UTF8 character set.
After installation, my infrastructure and OID works fine. The OID has port 4032 (as set by Oracle Universal Installer) instead of predefined 389.
After this I've installed Application Server Portal and Wireless on another host: a Pentium 3 733Mhz 384Mb of Ram, with Windows 2000 Server (Italian) service pack 2.
I've also maintained all predefined settings and automatic configuration of Portal and Wireless. I've pointed to my Infrastructure.
Try to test the Portal demonstration but an error occurred:
"SERVICE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE. The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."
On my EM Console I see: component instances 'OC4J_Portal' and 'OC4J_Demos' are UP, instead 'Portal:portal:7777' is down.
On the component lists I've clicked the link of component instance Portal:portal:7777, the 'control services' and 'Accessible Server SSO' are started, while 'Accessible Portal Repository' is down.
What can I do to get my portal started?

    hi,
i have exactly the same problem. did you solve yours?
any suggestions or help how to do it?
    thanks
    erik

I think the installation of planning on Vista is difficult. As some of the files doesn't support even i am tired of doing that.
But tell me one thing have you installed all other products , I mean Essbase, (server, client) , AAS and Shared services.
    Are they working good .
I have formatted my system to XP and installed everything , but the problem is when i install planning it prompts me that IIS 5 should be greater other wise EPM will not install...
there are lot of things with planning 1) i can't datasource as it is not highlighting when we configure with Shared services
    2) It does not create product instance .
If any one can fix this thing by giving me a suggestions.
    Advance Thanks

  • Problem with Application server 8

    hi guys ,
i am using Application server p.e 8 and i'm not able to start the default server it gives the following error:
    Starting Domain domain1, please wait.
    Log redirected to C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\logs\server.log.
Domain domain1 failed to startup. There is a conflict on port 8080. Please check
the server log for more details.
CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1.
Press any key to continue . . .
i use Oracle 9i and i have also stopped the apache server which comes with oracle.
Application server log is as follows :
[#|2006-05-17T23:34:59.562+0530|WARNING|sun-appserver-pe8.2|javax.enterprise.tools.launcher|_ThreadID=10;|LAUNCHER005:Spaces in your PATH have been detected. The PATH must be consistently formated (e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin; ) or the Appserver may not be able to start and/or stop.  Mixed quoted spaces in your PATH can cause problems, so the launcher will remove all double quotes before invoking the process. The most reliable solution would be to remove all spaces from your path before starting the Appservers components.  |#]

It seems that something is still running on port 8080 - you should double check that your Apache server is indeed shut down and maybe reboot the system.
Alternatively, you could change the value of this (HTTP) port in <installdir>/domains/domain1/config/domain.xml file.

  • Problem with application server shutdown when connecting

    Hi Friends,
I am new to J2EE applications.
I developed a web application that uses jxl and mysql for reading excel sheets. The host I am working on is supposed to be the server. The application I am running is working absolutely fine, by creating a directory and saving the excel file in my webapps folder and inserting the data to the database. But the minute I send the file from client system, there is a sudden shutdown in my server.
I am sending the jsp and java code related to this application and related log file..
I guess the main problem is with sending the exact path from the remote client, rest all is fine including excel and database interactions.
I commented the database interaction class just for now as I don't think there is a problem with it.
    I am using Tomcat 4.1, MySQL 3.23

    Regards
    Vasumitra

The VERY FIRST message in the server log gives you a hint as to what the problem might be. The server thinks you have spaces in your PATH to the application server. Therefore, the solution is to kill the server however you need to (task manager, whatever) and then reinstall it in a path that doesn't contain spaces. That's the low-hanging fruit here; if that doesn't work, well, then we will have to find some other solution.

  • CLASSPATH problem with Application Server 8.2

    Hello everyone.
i am new to using the App server 8.2 for deploying a web application. we decided to use it because we were having too many problems with Web Server.
We successfully deployed the application and it runs. however, when accessing a page with database connectivity, we get the following error:

  • RMI of EJB Problem Sun Application Server 8

I have an application that tries to invoke a remote ejb. If the client is on the same box as the ejb then everything works as expected. If the client makes the call from a different application server, then the errors listed below are generated CONTINIOUSLY UNTIL THE CLIENT APP SERVER IS STOPPED.
Although I specify a hostname and port of the desired server, the error in the server log displays the hostname as localhost (which is incorrect, with the correct port) :
    locahhost:hostname: 127.0.0.1; port: 33702.
I know that client is communicating with the app server where the ejb reside because the other log messages show the other iiop ports of the ejb app server:
Connection failure: socketType: IIOP_CLEAR_TEXT; hostname: 127.0.0.1; port: 33702"
Connection failure: socketType: IIOP_CLEAR_TEXT; hostname: 127.0.0.1; port: 33822"
Connection failure: socketType: IIOP_CLEAR_TEXT; hostname: 127.0.0.1; port: 33922"
I use the following code to point the remote server:port:
    env.put("java.naming.factory.initial", "com.sun.jndi.cosnaming.CNCtxFactory");
    env.put("java.naming.provider.url", urlString);
The value of the urlString is extracted from a properties file and
contains the server and the port information.

  • Cross-application sharing problem in Application Server(OC4J)

    I use OC4J 9.0.3 version.
    Cross-application sharing.
The "parent" declaration is made in the <application> tag within server.xml.
    these appear as follows:
    <application name="A" path="a.ear" />
    <application name="B" path="b.ear" parent="A" />
The structure of an a.ear file is:
    a.ear
    - META-INF
    - a.war ---- a.jsp
    ---------- WEB-INF --- web.xml
    ------------------------- classes
    ------------------------- lib ---- util1.jar, util2.jar
The structure of an b.ear file is:
    b.ear
    - META-INF
    - b.war ---- b.jsp
    ------------ WEB-INF --- web.xml
    ----------------------------classes
    ----------------------------lib --- util3.jar, util4.jar
    when b.jsp call b class in util3.jar and b class call a class(PosFinexMonitoringMgr) in util1.jar
    I have following error :
    "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/.../.../.../.../app/tasks/PosFinexMonitoringMgr"
Has anyone else have solution to solve this problem?
maybe, must I declare Class-Path attribute of manifest.mf in util3.jar?
then, how to declare Class-Path attribute?
    like this ?
    Class-Path : ../../../../a/a/WEB-INF/lib/util1.jar
    Thanks,
    Taihoon Lee

    Hello,
I was just wondering if the approach mentioned above is the correct one for sharing libraries across different applications.
Very similarly, we have more than one ear modules in our project. (up to 10 or more) These ear's contain web and ejb modules. Since libraries used for any web application (i.e. jsf implementation libs) are included in every ear, our goal was to put them in a common ear and point web application's class loader to this directory.
However, I couldn't make this happen, with adding them to manifest file of war, or assigning the common ear as the parent of other ears.
Although it's for oas9i, I read the whitepaper, it's ok with adding the common libraries to one ear and share libraries across different war files under this ear, across the applications, I couldn't make it possible.
The application server version we use is 10.1.3.3. I can give you more details on our implementation, if you would approve that such an approach like this is acceptable.
    Many thanks & regards,
    Ece

  • Problem creating Application Server Connection

    Hi,
I am experiencing some problem in getting the connection to work right after I install the JDeveloper 10.1.3, the following is the configuration I used, please help me on this:
    Connection Type: Standard OC4J 10g 10.1.3
Host name: localhost , RMI Port: 23791
Firewall for port 23791 is turned off for both UDP and TCP.
When I test for connection, I got the following error:
Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://localhost:23791/default:
Error reading application-client descriptor: Error communicating with server: Connection refused: connect; nested exception is:
javax.naming.CommunicationException: Connection refused: connect [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect]
I do not understand why this happen. Do I need to turn on any server to get this to work? Please help me. Thanks.

    Hi Timo,
Thanks a lot. After doing much research here and there, I managed to get it work. I think it would be better that I shared my experience with everyone and this is how I get my first JSP on JDeveloper (OC4J) to work:
    - Start the OC4J server by running [Where you installed your JDeveloper]/jdev/bin/start_oc4j.bat
    - Create an application server connection. [For username: admin, password: welcome, URL: ormi://localhost:23791/]
Just wonder if anyone can give me a clue on how do I change my port to 80 instead of the default 8988 and also how to change the context root?
