Problem in audio conferencing using Flex and FMS3.0

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to achieve audio conferencing using Flex and
FMS3.0
Currently I am following an approach where all the persons in
voice conference publish their voice on flash media server using
NetStream.Publish() function and all persons listen to the streams
published by all other members in the conference using
NetStream.Play() function. I am using a shared array on server side
to keep track of all the persons present in the conference. The
problem I am facing is that sometimes all the persons are able to
hear the voice of each other but other times audio of some persons
is not audible to others. Even if voice comes then there is echo
and one can hear the sound 3-4 times depending on the amplitude of
the sound. I have also used Microphone.setUseEchoSuppression(true)
to suppress the echo but it is not effectively suppressing it. If
someone has faced similar problems in past please let me know the
solution. Thanks in advance.

I know.. but it was wrapped as jar or war files..
I searched all over my harddrive to find something named like org.apache or jdbc.clientDriver...and so on..with no result.
and I unziped derby.jar or derbyclient.jar etc.. also with no result.
It's like the driver has hiden somewhere like viruses...at least to me..

    I am having a similar and more serious problem. It takes a
    long time to execute, but even attaching a small image balloons the
    pdf to 6MB plus. After a few images it gets up to 20MB. These are
    100k jpeg files being attached. The resulting PDF is too large to
    email or process effectively. Does anyone know how to reduce
    size/processing?

    Well, I've been trying this for a while. By my calculations, at this rate, installing all the applications one by one and trying to restore all the data manually will take me about six years. I would finished just in time for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
    The main problem is, I don't know where all the bodies are buried. Just one example, I'm using Cornerstone for an svn client. I have working copies of multiple repositories on my computer. I really don't want to set them all up again, and I can't figure out where the Cornerstone preferences and all settings are stored. I couldn't find them in the Library anywhere.
    And that's just one case.
    I haven't done much with my MacBook Pro yet, I think in retrospect the easiest course of action is to reinstall OS X as though it were new MacBook Pro, start from scratch, and use my Time Machine backup with the migration assistant and go from there.
    And that's what I'm doing right now. I'm in the middle of reinstalling OS X.
    Afterwords I'll use a clean app uninstaller application to get rid of all the applications that I'm not using. And I'll just hack away at directories that I know I haven't looked at for years, with the confidence that I have a backup both in Time Machine and in CCC and also on my iMac. That's three backups.
    I would rather start out "light", but I can see it's just going to take forever and a day to get it done. Anyway, fortunately nothing is carved in stone, and I can always try again if I want to. But dealing with all the documents and all the applications one by one separately was just obviously going to take too much time.
    I'll report back on my results. And I appreciate your suggestion.

    Here I am expecting some clarifications from you. Before that let you my environement.
    My working environment :
    Eclipse tool and added jmf jar to my project I did not do any thing more.
    If any thing I need to do just let me know. My target platform is MAC & UBUNTU.
    Please bare with my questions.
    1) I am not able to recognize any video/audio devices using jmf and java sound APIs on My system.

    Do we need any administrives rights for our working PC.
    What is the procedure/ setup I need to follow from a java application to enable particular audio/video device since I dont about end-user system setup right.
    If possible send some sample code to recognize /r detect audio device ( voice input ). It should run on both MAC and UBUNTU.
    2) I run the one sample audio recording application of this link (http://www.jsresources.org/examples/SimpleAudioRecorder.java.html) which is provided by YOU.
    I got output audio file and able to hear voice on UBUNTU system but not able to hear voice on MAC system.

    Team, iTunes 10.2.2.12 has just been released. I installed it and checked, and BonJour's been updated to version 2.0.5.0, and there's a new 2.0.5.0 version of dnssd.dll on my system. So I reckon it's worth a try updating to that to see if it's of any help with your trouble.

  • Audio Conferencing using Cirrus?

    I'm interested in building a small website for my company's development team.  This is the scenario that I would like to achieve:
    1.  Colleague enters website
    2.  Colleague presses "Connect"
    3.  Colleague is connected with any other colleagues that have pressed "Connect"
    4.  Any colleagues Connected can chat using only a microphone I do not wish to support video feed
    5.  Full duplex communication is supported between all colleagues
    Is this something I can achieve using Cirrus?  If not, do you have any idea what technologies exist that could make this achievable?

    My ReelPortal app does just that, except it also have video (which you don't have to turn on).  Here's a short description:

    You can run it directly from the web browser on the PC/Mac/Linux, at www.reelportal.com.  You can even download the server, and run it within your own intranet.  But if you don't like it, you can certainly implement your own via Flash/AIR.
    As for audio quality, using headset is probably the best, but if you really need speakerphone, I'd suggest get a decent Bluetooth Speakerphone, like the Motorola EQ7 or EQ5, at a very affordable price.

  • Cfc error when using Flex and RemoteObject (cross post)

    I have Flex 3.0.214193 and CF 8,0,0,176276 and Oracle
    10.2.0.3.
    I've been search for several days for an answer to this one.
    There is very little out there about this type of error, but then
    there is very little about any problems with Flex and ColdFusion.
    In Flex, I have two comment fields. the .cfc has two update
    functions that update the comments, because they are in two
    different tables. The first update works like a champ. The second
    one consistantly shows this error in the CF application log: The
    NEWENGREMARK parameter to the updateEng function is required but
    was not passed in. I've used the Alert.Show to verify that Flex
    does have a value in that variable when it calls the .cfc. I've
    even tried passing the first variable that worked in the first
    update, and even a litteral value. Everything yields the same
    cryptic error message. I must be looking at the wrong thing.
    The only things I've found on the web about this, say the
    variables should have a scope (is that a scope in Flex or in the
    .cfc) and the column names should be in upper case (because it's
    Oracle).
    Here's the .cfc code (is that where the error is, or is it in
    Flex?). The UpdateDescription function works, but the UpdateEng
    doesn't.

    tried adding the newENGRemark parameter to the descriptionUpdate
    function call, I didn't do anything with it is the .cfc just
    declared it as required. In that case the parameter exists and
    everything is fine. But in the call to the UpdateEng, it doesn't
    exist.
    I changed the .cfc so that the newENGRemark was not required
    or had a default. In both cases the .cfc just skipped to the next
    parameter and said it didn't exist. But I was passing a litteral,
    it wasn't even a variable.
    I created a .cfm page that did a cfinvoke on the .cfc, and
    passed it two litterals. That worked fine. So that makes it look
    like some sort of syntax error in the Flex. So I deleted the call
    to the UpdateENG, copied the UpdateDescription call (because it
    works), changed just the minimum to make it work, but it didn't
    work.
    I think I am going to restructure the database so that I can
    do what I need to with just one update function, that seems to
    work.
    It still doesn't make any sense.

    Hi Chris,
    You cannot access the methods of the Flash 8 movie from Flex.
    And you can't do it the other way around either.
    The only way to communicate is to create a LocalConnection on
    each side.

    No MBox, but I just patch my turntable into a phono preamp I bought at Radio Shack about 25 years ago (in order to have RIAA equalization) and the preamp outs into your interface and you can record like normal.

    I followed this tutorial from adobe http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/Flex/Creating+a+BlazeDS+messaging+application+in+Flex+ Builder i installed tomcat server and set the path.I am unable to open server like this http://localhost:8080 but i can able to open that in this way http://127.0.0.1:8080/   .... When i create my new flex project in flash builder 4 i am getting this error
    You do not have write permission for the project output folder. Specify another location.
    can any one help me in how to get rid of this problem.I hope this forum helps me in finishing my flex project..

    Hi,
    Need to use a scrollable resultset and depending on the need to have a stateful connection or a stateless connection you may need to query the table for every request(for stateless connection) and use the same result set for(stateful connection). and depending on the no of records in a page and the page no do some simple arithmetic and move the resultset.   • Problem with audio quality using Record Audio Comment

    I am recording audio comments in Adobe Acrobat Professional using the "Record Audio Comment" tool. The sound quality is bad--very scratchy and has a noisy hum. I am using a good USB headset/microphone. Recordings outside of Acrobat are fine, e.g., in Audacity. I have tried two different microphones with both Acrobat 8 and 9 on two different computers (a desktop and a laptop) with similar results.
    I have not found an audio quality setting in Acrobat. Is there some way to improve the audio quality when recording comments? I suspect Acrobat is compressing the audio so much in order to save file size, however, the poor quality makes it almost unusable.
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice. I know I can record outside of Acrobat and then add the pre-recorded audio as a comment, but that defeats the purpose.

    Sorry to hear you are having problems. 
    A few things you can try: 
    1. Turning the volume of your TV up too high during a call can cause the kinds of audio problem you describe. Try turning the TV volume down and this should stop the 'feedback' problems you are having. 
    2. If you are using external speakers, then try switching these off and using the speakers built in to the TV. The TV was originally tested for Skype using the TV's internal speakers, so if you have a soundbar or other external speakers connected, the audio performance may suffer on Skype calls.

  • Problem with audio quality using Vizio WebCam on V...

    I'm using an Vizio XCV100 Internet Apps TV Video Camera connected via a USB port on a Vizio model E401I-A2 to Skype with my daughter.   The audio is terrible.  The audio is broken up (comes and goes) and lags behind the video.   Sometimes there is feedback and an ongoing wind noise.   I tried the Skype Echo/audio test and I get some wind noise but nothing like what happens when actually Skyping to daughter.   We have ruled out the other end (daughter's eqmt) which happens to be a Vizio TV and Vizio Camera.  she has no problems Skyping with others or with us using our laptop.   We returned our first Vizio Camera and got another camera and have the same problem!   Very frustrating.  Someone mentioned we may need a filter, etc.   Any and all support greatly appreciated.

  • Problem with Join Queries using PHP and an Orcale Database

    Ok, I am trying to build a simple php querying tool for my oracle database and for the most part it is working however I am having a problem getting data from my join queries. If I run the following query :
    QUERY:
    SELECT lastfirst,EnteredBy,Debit FROM students sts JOIN GLDetail gl ON gl.studentid=sts.id
    RESULT SET:
    Lastfirst     EnteredBy     Debit
    caiu, test      204     1
    But when I run the query correctly I get no results
    QUERY:
    SELECT sts.lastfirst,gl.EnteredBy,gl.Debit FROM students sts JOIN GLDetail gl ON gl.studentid=sts.id
    RESULT SET:
    sts.lastfirst     gl.EnteredBy     gl.Debit
    and if I run the query combining the two above methods and adding a field (schoolid) that has the same name on both table I get the following result sets

    SELECT lastfirst,EnteredBy,Debit,sts.schoolid FROM students sts JOIN GLDetail gl ON gl.studentid=sts.id
    RESULT SET:

In addition, I had to phrase out the column headers there for when you write the column headers you have to use ~ instead of , as the separator and then I turn back into the correct format for sql.

    This looks more like a SQL question than a PHP issue. There are a couple of JOIN examples at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_10002.htm#i2066611 that might you work through the problem.

  • Urgent: Performance problem with where clause using IN and an OR condition

    Select statement is:

    If I modify the statement to remove the "or (:1 is null))" part at the bottom of the where clause, it returns in .16 seconds. If I modify the statement to only contain the "(:1 is null))" part of the where clause, it returns in .02 seconds. With the whole statement above, it returns in 477 seconds. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks for the reply, but I have already checked what you are suggesting and I am pretty sure those are not causing the problem. The hr2.full_name column has an upper index and the (4) line of the explain plan shows that index being used. In addition, that part of the query executes on its own quickly.
    Because the sql is not displayed in an indented format on this page it is a little hard to understand the structure so I am going to restate what is happening.
    My sql is:
    select a_column
    from a_table
    where ((:1 is not null) and a_column in (sub-select statement)
    or
    (:1 is null))
    The :1 bind variable is set to a varchar2 entered on the screen of an application.
    If I execute either part of the sql without the OR condition, performance is good.
    If the :1 bind variable is null with the whole sql statement (so all rows or a_table are returned), performance is still good.
    If the :1 bind variable is a not-null value with the whole sql statement, performance stinks.
    As an example:
    where (('wa' is not null) and a_column in (sub-select statement)) -- fast
    where (('wa' is null)) -- fast
    where (('' is not null) and a_column in (sub-select statement) -- fast
    or
    ('' is null))
