Problem in B450 Lenovo

Guys, I am having problem with Lenovo B450 Laptop...
1. Display is not coming in BIOS Setup or in DOS. However when Windows Logins, then display comes and Laptop Runs perfectly. We can change any display settings then, no issues. ( Display comes after 1-2 minutes)
2. If External Monitor is attached then Display is OK and showing BIOS and DOS screen.
Any Solution ?

Problem Alerts with Lenovo Solution Centre (Thinkpad B50-30)

Hello All,
I am experiencing problems with the Lenovo Solution Centre on a brand new Lenovo B series laptop B50-30 Windows 8.1.
First off upon booting the laptop for the first time I was getting an alert message for the warranty saying. it was not available.
I thought this may have been due to the fact that on warranty status, the start date was incorrect. I did email a copy of the receipt and the date has now been corrected. However, I am still getting an alert in the Lenovo Solution Centre saying warranty not available (please see first picture).
I looked around the web and found one solution that involved uninstalling Lenovo Solution Centre, rebooting, reinstalling Lenovo Solution Centre and rebooting but that hasn't helped.
In fact now, I am getting two alerts. The same warranty alert again and one about storage devices (please see second picture).
The Lenovo Solution Centre is saying that a partition on the hard drive has less than 9.5% available (third picture) but as you can see in the fourth attached picture there is plenty of space. I have only had the laptop a week and there is hardly anything on there.
Can anyone help?

The alerts about low available space in a partition showed up with the latest version of LSC.
There are 2 other posts here with the same type alert message.
Maybe the next release of LSC will address the issue (bug).

Network connectivity problems on a Lenovo ThinkPad T60p

Greetings,
I am having connectivity problems with my Lenovo Thinkpad T60p. And I would really appreciate some help.
I know both ethernet connectivity and WiFi connectivity work because if I boot with different OS, I can access the network. So this is not a hardware problem. It is a software problem...
I have uninstalled the existing Ethernet and Network drivers by removing them from:
1. The Control Pannel -> Add/Remove programs
2. The Control Pannel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager
3. The directory level in C:/devices/win/ethernet etc.
I have downloaded the drivers again. Re-installed. Same issues.
I see both card in The Control Pannel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager . The Wireless card is
ok. The Ethernet card shows a yellow alert sign.
At boot time I get a message indicating a service cannot be started but the the system logs show no related errors.
As far as wireless, the network card appears, in the Network tab of the Windows Task Manager, but the status
is "Non Operational". I can see the networks around me, but I cannot connect, even when there is no encryption. This might be the first one to fix, since it will give me mobility even if I sacrifice speed and open myself to hacking.
As far as ethernet, I see the network card DOES NOT appear in the Network tab of the Windows Task Manager, but as I mentionned before, I know that there is a problem with that.
I hope someone can help me with this. The only other options I have are re-install the OS, install another one, or take the machine in for service, something I am reluctant to do, as I claim to be an IT professional for 30 years and that I can fix other people´s machines...

The ThinkPad T60p (2007-8EU) looks like a decently-configured ThinkPad:
2700(2.33GHz), 1GB RAM, 100GB 7200rpm HD, 14.1in 1400x1050 LCD, 256MB ATI FireGL V5200, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Cingular WWAN, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ether, UltraNav, Sec Chip, FPR, 9c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro
The TPM driver is used to communicate with the T60p's integrated security module. You can download the latest version of the device driver from here on Lenovo's support site. Although listed as being for Windows 2000, XP and Vista, I believe it works just fine under Microsoft Windows 7 as well.
My working hypothesis is that removal of the third-party firewall damaged the network settings in Windows. That's a problem that periodically comes up with the various security software packages from different vendors.
What I would suggest at this point is the following:
Check with the third-party firewall vendor to see if they offer a manual uninstallation program to uninstall the software. Download that and run it per their instructions, booting into Safe Mode, if necessary.
When that process is complete, try resetting the network stack by issuing a "NETSH INT IP RESET RESETLOG.TXT" command per Microsoft Knowledgebase Article # 299357 "How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)". The article is applicable to Microsoft Windows XP SP3 and later.
At this point, you should be free of any services, device drivers, NDIS intermediate drivers, WinSock LSPs or other objects from the third-party firewall software, and all network connections should be restored to their default values.

Problem with notebook Lenovo B450

Hi all, sorry if i wrote to not special category, but im not find my notebook in you forum lines....
i have a problem : Notebook Lenovo B450 when insert usb 3G modem him power down, when switch to power on keyboard not work, and don't see battery, in to Bios, in version list, KBC version have a unread symbols...
and now when switch to power off notbook not power down, him turns off the monitor but cooler working... power to down only disable AC and remove battery... How i can a by this KBC controller? or how i can a flush bios without battery

Flash tools have settings file, in file find param Battary = 1 (true) im set to (0) false, and bios will flush =)) keybord work, battery charging

Memory problem on a Lenovo 3000 0769-BAG

Hi !
I own this nice machine, and put into it a Linux 64 bits OS. (Fedora 7).
Everything is working fine, but I needed more memory to be able to scan/process large images.
So I went to Lenovo web site and saw I needed PC2-5300 Sodimm memory. For a maximum of 4GB.
I've bought 2 Sodimm labelled like that : 2GB DDR2-667Mhz-CL5 based upon 16 chips labelled PR128MB-3 "Made in Taiwan" ...
So I removed the 2 512MB modules and put the 2 2GB modules. The BIOS see them and count up to 4096 GB. Fine.
But after POST, Nothing happens. No beep no disk activity, no nothing. The message "Press F1 to enter BIOS or F12 for boot menu " disapears, the cursor goes on the upper left corner and that's it.
So I removed the first 2GB module and put an original 512 MB instead. The machine boots fine, I'm able to successfully test the RAM either with the Vista boot menu option or the Memtest which came with Fedora.
I've swapped the 2 GB module and done the very same test. OK. So I'm pretty confident on the operation of the 2 2GB modules. Vista and Fedora proudly announce near 2.5 GB of memory (depending of the shared memory assigned to the Intel Graphic card)
If I put the 2 GB module on the first slot, and the 512 MB atop, the machine refuses to boot.
So, Either there is a problem with my memory modules, or there is a problem accessing the maximal capacity using 2GB modules ? What do you think and what should I do ?

You mention you have BIOS V1.05, the latest on Lenovo is V1.02 but with the same number 68ET21WW that you have. Typo?
Are there any memory settings in BIOS that you can play with?
Put in a 512/2GB combo, go to this webpage from Crucial, scroll down and have it scan your system.
Repeat with the other 2GB. What are the results?, are those 2GB sticks what they are supposed to be?
As you run Linux, I am at a dead end here, no knowledge.
I assume you have installed (not just downloaded) all the Lenovo updates for Windows?
A 32-bit OS can only address 3GB, so 4GB would be a waste.
A 64-bit OS (both Linux and XP or Vista) should be able to work with 4GB.
Can you borrow a 1GB stick and see if it works with 3GB?

After hunting around on the web, it seems that there is a RAM limit for the Lenovo 3000 N100.
Also, Lenovo says this on their website:
1 GB (footnote 4) (2-512 MB DIMMS) PC2-5300 DDR2 667 MHz memory, expandable with optional SDRAM SO DIMM module to a maximum 2.0 GB (footnote 5)

5: Memory options up to 1024 MB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM SO DIMM can be added for maximum memory expansion.I picked up somewhere that some BIOSes test for an original Lenovo RAM stick, but could not find this reference again.
If you get that 1GB + 2GB working, that will be the max, otherwise hope for a new BIOS that will allow for 4GB.
On Buy.com (sells Kingston RAM), several users reported success with 2x 1GB Kingston RAM.

Severe problem while starting Lenovo 3000 N200

I am using Lenovo 3000N200 0769BDG laptop. I have following problems while starting the system.
Recently my system was hacked against which I installed an Anti-Malware software. It showed that the system was free from any Malware.(But believe me, it is true that the system was hacked.). But each time on starting the system, a black and white window is being displayed which contains the following message:
We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows didnot start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.
If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose Last Known Good Configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked.
If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the Power or Reset button was pressed , or if you aren't sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows Normally.

After 30 seconds, the Windows logo is displayed immediately followed by a Blue screen which lasts for 1 second and the system restarts. I tried all the options listed above-- from Safe Mode to Start Windows Normally but the same problem recurrs. And the system doesn't shutdown until I press the power button.
I have a licensed version of Windows Xp SP3 as OS. I tried to repair the system using WinXP CD but I found the following message:
Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.
Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.
Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3.
A point to be noted is that earlier, I removed the Rescue & Recovery from my system thinking that it might not be of much use and now, I lament for it.
When I press F3 the same window appeared and the same problem recurred.
I tried to access the files in my hard disk using Ubuntu CD and it was successful. I used Lenovo hardware quick test to check for any hardware faults, and my system passed all the tests.
I request you to help me in solving this problem so that I can continue my studies peacefully.

First off, being "hacked" and having viruses/malware are two different things. Someone hacking your computer doesn't really mean you have a virus/malware, it means an actual person gained access to your computer remotely and did something to it.
More than likely you got a virus that corrupt your Windows System directory and/or registry. Anti-malware software won't necescarily detect all viruses, especially executable that run commands to simply delete files.
The blue screen you're seeing is what us technicians call the BSOD (blue screen of death), it's an indication that there is a direct corruption with the core files that Windows requires to function properly.
As an IT Technician, if this were one of my laptops or one of my end-users, I would simply reload it with a fresh copy of Windows XP. There's a possiblity that all data you had on the laptop is gone because if the Windows core files are corrupt/missing, then that could very well mean your system was wiped completely but the boot table is in tact, hence the fact that you even have the option to boot Windows XP.
One other option I would suggest is try to reinstall Windows XP. Sometimes if you have the right copy of the install, it will let you reinstall the Windows XP core files, leaving your programs, files and directories in tact.

Problema para arrancar lenovo b590 (UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME)

de buenas a primeras, mi lenovo b590 no arranca, ayer funcionaba perfectamente, y hoy al intentar iniciar me ha salido un error de un "servicio" que apenas me ha dado tiempo a leer cuando se a reiniciado el portatil. Tras esto al intentar arrancar el sistema operativo el lenovo se quedaba colgado apareciendome la pantalla azul de la muerte con el siguiente mensaje: "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" (windows 8.1)
Tras esto el PC se ha quedado pegado (ya van 6horas) en la pantalla de "Intentando realizar reparaciones".
He buscado información sobre el tema pero no veo nada que se asemeje a mi caso, ya que la verdad, ni siquiere se porque aparece este error de la nada, tengo miedo de perder datos importantes ya que la ultima copia de seguridad la hice hace 1mes. Destacar que estoy de exámenes y necesito el ordenador para realizarlos.
¿Algun usuario de este foro me podría aconsejar sobre este problema o que debería de hacer?
Si conoceis algun hilo de este tema se agradecería que lo compartieseis.

Claro puede conseguir la imagen de Windows 8.1.
Usar el recovery es una especie de formateo te deja el ordenador como si fuera la primera vez que lo enciendes, pero te dejaría con Windows 8 y eliminaría todo en C, a través del botón Novo, el proceso de recovery se debe realizar con mas del 50% de carga y conectado al cargador.
Punto anterior en Windows es el que tu has creado puedes volver a el desde el disco de rescate de Windows, desde Windows 8 en adelante también podrías regresar a Windows de fabrica.
Instalación limpia me refiero a una nueva instalación de cero en la que cargas un dispositivo extraible con la instalación de Windows.
Puede ser sobre lo de la descarga esta era un archivo que necesito algún parche?
Entiendo suele suceder el problemas relacionados a mal arranque con Windows.
Inicio seguro sigue disponible solo se debe usar un USB de rescate y realizar ciertos pasos, lo ideal seria utilizarlo no desde Windows si no como esta disponible antes y no como esta configurado a partir de WIndows 8, pero en tu caso no creo que sirviera de mucho.
Sobre la opción de BIOS me puedes comentar que has echo hasta ahora? si se podría entrar pero ver que sucede pero no se mas detalles.
Para cargar algún disco de Windows 8/8.1 presionar F12 o Fn+F12 y escoger tu lectora, para entrar a BIOS a través del botón Novo o F2,Fn+F2 al encender el ordenador.
Esta disponible lo de rescatar tu información con Linux no es complicado y proceder a realizar una nueva instalación.

Problema al iniciar Lenovo B50-30 Checking media...

Hola!
Hace tiempo que tengo este Lenovo B50-30 (80ES) que me venía con Windows 8. Lo pasé a Windows 7 de 32bits, lo cual tuve que volver a cambiarlo por el de 64 bits esta mañana. El error viene cuando después de pasarlo al formato de 64 bits que era el indicado, al terminar el formateo todo normal, el fallo comenzó cuando empecé a instalar los Controladores, al intentar instalar "BIOS Update Utility exe" (O al menos pienso que este pudo ser el último que intenté instalar antes del fallo) La cuestión es que la aplicación me pedía que no utilizara la batería para ejecutarla y que conectase el cargador. Hecho esto, comenzó a instalarse hasta que me apareció una pantalla negra con unas letras en rojo, tras cargarse por completo, lo siguiente que apareció fué:
El logo de Lenovo y después una pantalla negra que dice"Checking Media..." Tras esto, una ventana azul que dice:
"Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed.
Insert recovery media and hit any key
then select "boot manager" to choose a new boot device or to boot recovery media"
Seguido de la opción [OK], al presionar me lleva a un página de fondo blanco que pone "BOOT MANAGER" debajo; Boot option Menu y solo a poder elegir una opción: "EFI PXE NETWORK", pulso Select y: de nuevo "Checking media..." Solo que ahora en una ventanita azul dice:
"EFI network 0 for IPv4 (F0-76-1C-19-33-D5) boot failed, Y después este mensaje se repite si sigo presionando [OK]
Llegué a deducir por lo de IPv4 que necesitaría conexión a internet, por lo que cunecté el cable al ordenador y esto solo cambió la respuesta del cuadro, supongo que dando otro fallo, pero ninguna otra opción que no sean las que ya he dicho.
La cuestión segun he leido parece fácil de solucionar, pero mi verdadero problema recae en que no puedo acceder a la BIOS de ninguna de las maneras. Mi portatil no tiene ese botón para acceder a la BIOS, supongo que hay que hacerlo mediante F12, aunque los he probado todos, y al salir el Logotipo de Lenovo intento acceder a la BIOS y no me deja.
No sabría deciros si instalé el controlador de la Bios, si era el controlador propio de la Bios el que me ha dado este fallo, no sé. No estan todos los Drivers instalados, ya que este era de los 3 primero que me descargué por orden de la página y me salió el fallo este que no me deja acceder a Windows.
La verdad es que estoy un poco desquiciado con este error, asique agradecería muchiiisimo una ayudita. Y aunque no se supiera solución, otra duda es que si podría Re-formatearlo para solucionar el problema. La cuestión es esa, que no puedo Acceder a la BIOS y no se siquiera si lo podré formatear.

Para el caso 2 en el que que modificas la BIOS a legacy el disco duro aparece para el orden de arranque, con esta configuración Windows no carga normalmente verdad? mismo mensaje mostrador desde un inicio, recomendable en la pestaña exit verificar que en las preferencias de sistema operativo, este para Windows 7 en el caso de no estar este parámetro colocar en otros.
Si con esto persiste el mensaje problema, intenta arrancar el instalador de Windows 7 y verificar si el disco duro, para intentar verificar si es que el problema es debido a error en el arranque de Windows o de plano no tienes ningún sistema en disco que arrancar.

Problems with the Lenovo Vibe x S960

I had bought Lenovo vibe x Almost 1 month ago and I am Experiencing lot of problems with this phone.
Although having a 1.5Ghz processor it lags in many apps and games like asphalt 8, fast n furious, robocop etc.
experienced lot of problems especially with the battery and earphones.
The earphones button doesnt work to pause/play music.
It says "try again when you're online"
Why do i have to be online to Play/Pause music.
Btw my earphone had also screwed up.
After using it for a while the right side had stopped working.
Once i had charged it to 100% and then i removed charger and locked screen and then it stopped working.
Didnt switch on again.
Sent for repair and they tell me its working.
After receiving from service it stopped working again.
When connected to wifi or data usage, it restarts automatically sometimes.
Cannot boost wifi usage well, slows down wifi speed if others are using the wifi on their phones. My phones wifi slows, but others' phones still work.(embarrassing).
Takes long time to turn on data and get connected to cellular networks.
Dont feel like buying any lenovo product in future.
Also it was very difficult to find support for lenovo phones.
Take my advice DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

I own a Lenovo G50 AMD A6 Win 8.1 ever since November 2014, and have had display problems ever since the first day, be it while using internet (Firefox or Explorer) or various software (Text editors, etc.). Many dialog boxes, including colour settings and controls (open, close etc.) either have an inappropriate appearance or even do not appear at all! I manage to "click" on the right places using memory: most areas are INVISIBLE! Another example would be that I do not see any backround colour or image on most webpages such as this one). I find it quite disrespectful to NOT provide customers with EASY support, as well as avoiding to answer their requests for further help when some simplistic "assistance" that one can find almost anywhere on the web leads to no further solution. I shall not repeat the problems I have faced till now: vide supra. The problem, however, is NOT just with browsers.I simply cannot see any dialog box content and colour in MANY software programs, such as OPEN OFFICE; for instance: PRESENTATION colour dialog boxes show BLANK squares instead of squares filled with different colours. This has occured AVER SINCE DAY ONE! Finally, a new bug has appeared: Windows 8.1 keeps popping up some email program to which I am invited to register - I never created a Windows email account, and certainly don't intend to do so.NOR shall I accept some "Lenovo Service Bridge", however "discreet and inoffensive" it might be. I don't know if there are any legal grounds for customers to complain for all these problems. I DO know, however, that I shall NEVER buy a LENOVO device ever again. Huge problem on my lenovo G400s please help, i am sick and tired

I really need help, my friend own a new g400s and i used the laptop for like 3-5days, my pictures were saved on it and now he added his new pictures and he used 1 one them as hes account pictures, the problem i am having here now is how do i delete my old pictures that was already used as an account picture? my pictures was deleted from the laptop but the account pictures are still there please help me.

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Recently used account pictures are normally stored in this path:
C:\Users\(user-name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures
To delete the recently used account pictures, check this guide.

Problemas Batería Lenovo Smartphone S660

Hola. Compré un lenovo S660 smartphone nuevo en San Andres, Colombia. Anda súper rapido y me encanta pero la batería NO dura más de 5 (cinco) hs. Lo llevé a la tienda donde lo compre y me dieron una bateria nueva (la abrieron delante mio). Qué solución tiene este problema? De q me sirven los 4 núcleos si se me descarga tan rápido?. Con ambas baterias se comportó de igual manera. Al terminar la carga completa empieza mostrando el 100% de carga y en menos de una hora ya esta en 80%. Se come (devora)la bateria literalmente hablando. Alguien puede respindwrme? Muchas Gracias.

Hola Buen día Jorge. Te cuento que he solucionado el inconveniente con algo sencillo. Primero respondo a tu pregunta. El cellular NO se me descarga en modo reposo, sólo al estar conectado a internet. No lo utilizo mucho con juegos, pero por ej para ver videos o fotos ya descargados, eso no afecta tanto a la batería. Lo que pude hacer es algo simple y que ya había leído. Disminuí el brillo de la pantalla (sin ponerlo en automático). Ahora me dura 1 día entero usándolo bastante y a veces hasta 2 días. He mirado las aplicaciones que se ejecutan en segundo plano y hay una herramienta de seguridad contra virus, spyware, que en este momento no recuerdo bien su nombre pero tengo entendido que viene incluída de fábrica y otras más. Lo que sí me mejora notablemente es una utilidad que trae esa herramienta de seguridad llamada "Limpieza" que lo que hace es liberar aplicaciones innecesarias que están en ejecución en la memoria RAM de 1 GB del cel. le corro seguido esa utilidad y el % de batería disminuye más lentamente. Apenas termino de cargar el cel y lo enciendo, puedo ver ahora, desde que he bajado la intensidad del brillo de la pantalla, que disminuye rápido sólo desde el 100 al 80%. Al ver esto corro la utilidad Limpieza y se empieza a frenar. A partir de ahi, me dura un montón, incluso mirando videos online de youtube. Muchas gracias por tu respuesta. Problema con mi lenovo A916

El movil funciona bien y no se atasca, pero no me deja reproducir videos desde la aplicacion de android de Youtube, pero si entro desde el navegador del movil a Youtube si que puedo ver los videos. Por favor, que alguien intente ayudarme porque es el unico problema que tengo. Gracias.

Estoy en la misma situación, no consigo que los videos de youtube funcionen, solo puedo verlos desde navegador, he instalado flash player a ver si con eso se quitaba el problema pero tampoco sirve de nada, este teléfono me está defraudando porque le estoy encontrando muchos fallos, no tiene LTE en 800Mhz, el sonido no es muy bueno, viene repleto de programas basura, no es sencillo de rootear, no hay actualización a Lollipop, Las aplicaciones no se pueden pasar a la tarjeta SD, que me parece gracioso, te ponen ranura para SD para aumentar la memoria hasta 32 GB y luego resulta que se te crea una partición dentro de la propia memoria del teléfono emulando a la SD en vez de pasarlas directamente, eso es una porquería, apenas tengo 4 programas instalados y ya me está diciendo que mi teléfono no tiene memoria para instalar mas cosas y aparentemente tengo mas de 5GB, entonces donde está el chiste? creo que no me volveré a comprar mas Lenovos, me he comprado 2 y estoy decepcionado con esta marca...

Problema disco duro lenovo y50

Hace 2 meses compre un lenovo y50 y hoy al encenderlo arranco muy lento
le pase el crystal disk y me da un problema de sectores reasignados

Al ver el indicativo no detectado en BIOS puede ser un problema que indique que el problema sea directamente del disco o de la placa, lo recomendable es contactar al centro de llamadas Lenovo para que el problema sea revisado y diagnosticado en el centro de servicios de tu país.
Solo necesitas el recibo de compra y verificar que si el modelo que comentas cuenta con garantía internacional dentro de tu país, https://support.lenovo.com/es/es/iwslookupidea si no cuenta con garantía internacional una manera es hacer la efectiva en el país de procedencia, lo siento quizás no es las mejores de las respuestas pero solo trato de dar opciones.
Lamentablemente no veo otra solución, puedes esperar mas respuestas que den mas luces sobre este problema.
