Problem in CO No range (KANK)

Hi
In KANK, I have inserted 4 groups like Primary Postings, Planning, Actual posting, Other Transactions and also assigned no ranges in each group.
Now the objects like COIN, KOZO which should show by default under not assigned - not showing here. Under 'Not Assigned' - its showing blank, no objects are here.
Can you please tell me is it any kind of problem or is their any settings so that it can come by default.

Hi i got the same problem where i can create the groups but i dint find any business transaction in quality client like RKP1,COIN etc there is totally blank where i check the programme and i found the table TKA04 where there i can find in the development but not in quality client can you help me on these

Problems using writeXML on Range Paging ViewObject

We have a ViewObject configured to work with Range Page feature (it has up to 150 thousand rows), it works very nicely, fast and fine.
But the problem appears when we try to use the writeXML functionality on this Range Paging ViewObject, and exception is thrown, seems that writeXML calls any other rowset method than next().
Any suggestion about how to solve this problem? (without disabling range paging feature on the ViewObject).

I had created number range (KANK) in development server. But I am not able create a number range in sandbox and quality becoz there no element to aasign its just showing the element group. There is no list in not assigned creteria...
how to get those i.e. like COIN element in sandbox and quality....

I had faced a similar situation and I solved it by transporting the number range from the development system using transaction code OKE5 (do not use KANK to transport) within the transaction input the controlling area number in the first tab tick
Business Trans > Number range group assignment
Intervals and group assignment
You should not use this transaction for transporting this to a live system.

External Display Problem - Frequency out of range with lid closed

I have read this - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86286 - it should work, but it does not.
I have a black macbook, an apple usb keyboard, a usb mouse and a19" gateway lcd display (max resolution 1440x900). Everything used to work great. Now for some reason no matter what resolution & mhz I set the external display and the macbook to it will not work with the lid closed, I can set bot to the lowest settings (640 x 480) and when I close the lid and wake the mac the message on the external display says "Frequency out of range." I will work fin in either mirror or extended mode with the lid open. Any suggestions? I've tried resetting the pram already and run the disk repair on the start up disk.

I never did figure it out - but the problem has been solved..
I did tried to trash a bunch of preference files - no joy.
I fixed it the old fashioned way - I installed a fresh system (don't waste your time with an archive and install - it just imported the corrupt files). Works fine now..

Problem in adjusting the range of long value

I have problem
I have application running in C language which sends data to other application which is running in java .. Its through socket communication
My doubt is in C the size of long is 4bytes and in java 8bytes
my C application is sending a negative long value
so with C long has 32 bit in which the last bit is for signed/unsigned
but the value when i convert in java will i get postive value or negative value
In java long is 64 bits and last is for signed/unsigned
So when i convert that C long value which is a negative value to Java long value it come under the range of postive java long value
How to solve this

Well I think you need to make up your mind what the problem is. In your OP you said this:
my C application is sending a negative long valueand now you're saying this:
but C is sending only positive long value.In any case all you have to do is convert the 4 bytes to a Java integer correctly, which is just a few shifts and masks.
But it would be both easier and clearer to use the methods of DataInputStream directly on the input stream to give you the appropriate datatypes as they arrive, without using the byte[] array at all.

For LIV document, maintain number range number, year (may be till 9999) and from & to number u=in transaction OMRJ.
Maintain the number range number for the transactions RD & RJ.
Path: IMG--> Matl mgmt --> LIV --> Incoming invoice --> Number assignment --> Maintain Number Assignment for Logistics Documents

Packing instructions - problem with external number range

Hi Gurus:
I have a problem with configuring packing instructions. I have created a number range entry with external numbering (tx. OPIN), but when I want to create a new packing instruction in POP1, I get an error message: Manually-entered packing instruction ID cannot be checked (Message no. VHU01116). Can you please tell me how to avoid this error message?
The system works fine if the number range is set to internal. As a matter of fact, initially I did create a setting with internal numbering and conducted a couple of tests, but I had to change the "external" flag in the number range to meet business requirements. Is it possible that somehow the system does not recognize that I have changed the flag and I need to run some generation program or something similar?

For further records:
we have found the problem after debugging the function. In order for the system to accept the external number range, a second number range object with ID 02 must be maintained in OPIN. Then you can use this number range as external and keep the first as internal.

Problem when define Value range for data element

Dear
When I define a new data element in ABAP Dictionary, for example, ZDATA_ELEMENT_TEST.
I use domain ZDOMAIN_TEST.
(Data type is DEC, the length is 10, and decimals is 2 with sign.)
Now, I want to restrict that, user can ONLY input the value from 10 to 100.
From ABAP course and the Internet, I switch to "Value Range" tab, and define 10 for Lower Limit, 100 for Upper Limit in Intervals section.
And write the simple program.
PARAMETERS test TYPE ZDATA_ELEMENT_TEST.
WRITE: test.
And run it.
Line: -
But, there is a problem.
When I input 200 for test, the program still run and display 200 to screen without any error report or notification. The ABAP runtime system doesn't check the input value.
I want to config for the domain that can satisfies, if the user input the wrong value (e.g: 200 in the previous case), the program will auto raise the error report, or exception, or sth like that.
Any help is welcome.

Try to attach key word VALUE CHECK to your PARAMETER statement.
I.e:
PARAMETERS test TYPE ZDATA_ELEMENT_TEST VALUE CHECK.
Note: The addition VALUE CHECK cannot be used together with the additions AS CHECKBOX, RADIOBUTTON, or NO-DISPLAY.

Problem printing my time range

I'm trying to print my iCal weekly view for the range of 10am to 8pm, but when I print it prints the whole day (12am to 10pm!). In the prefs I have "day starts" and "day ends" to the proper times. And if I set view to "Day" it prints the right range. Any reason it would be doing this, or does anyone know of a workaround so I can print just the time range I want?

I don't see any problems with your permissions.. it is showing read and write for everyone.
But the TC trash works differently.. and can cause issues.. all of this is the reason you should not be using the TC as a NAS..

Also your TC name is too long.
See C9 for why you should keep you name shorter..
In fact under Mavericks.. I would stick to SMB standard .. 2-20 characters.. less than 10 even better.
No spaces
Pure alphanumeric.
Much pain when Mavericks is involved.

Remember also if you move this data to the TC it cannot be backed up by Time Machine in the computer.. and you will have no backup of your files.

Problem in assigning number range to support desk messages

we are in the process of configuring service desk in solution manager
7.0 .
so far the following steps were done ,
- implemented note 898614
-Activate Solution Manager Services via SICF
-activated BC sets for service desk
-Fetched SAP components vis DSWP
-Assigned number range for ABA notification via DNO_CUST01
but while assigning the support desk for service messages via ,
SPRO--> SAP Solution Manager --> Basic Settings --> SAP Solution
Manager System --> Service Desk --> Number Ranges for Notifications.
Then press the execute icon ( ) next to Assign number range for Service
Desk Messages.,
when assigning internal number as '01' and external number as '02' and clicking on save button we
get the error as "Enter valid number range interval '

A number range is a range of numbers which are assigned to objects uniquely.
Such numbers are some kind of identifiers (which may be used to describe obejcts). In your case the ABA / Basis notifications are identified by those unique numbers.

Number ranges are not meant for initialization.
you need to use subobjects which allows you to create number range values for example based on the month.
you need not to increase the number every time.
the FM gives you increased number every time.
as i said earlier create entries in SCARR table. carrid values like 01 02 03 04 -- 10 11 12 ETC.
12 sub objects for 12 months.
then go to SNRO tcode and create the values for each month.
in the program
data date type sy-datum.
month(2) type c.
month = sy-datum+3(2) will give you the current month.
pass this to the FM NUMBER_GET_NEXT
along with other parameters.

I have assigned internal no range for applicants in NUMAP feature.
But in PB10-Initial data entry, SAP system does not assign a no from no. range automatically rather says no range is external, enter a personnel no.
Please help me. It's urgent.

check once again in PB04 NO for ur number range and see if it is marked external or internal and also check yet again if u have assigned correct return value in NUMAP.
Although very basic...sometimes if u forget to generate the feature in which case the changes u made may not have taken affect..

Problem exchanging partitions using range partitioning

I have a range-partitioned table. Here's a cut down version....
CREATE TABLE MY_TABLE
   (     VALUE           NUMBER,

(PARTITION "P1" VALUES LESS THAN (2),
PARTITION "P2" VALUES LESS THAN (3),

PARTITION "P5" VALUES LESS THAN (6),
PARTITION "P6" VALUES LESS THAN (7),

- create a table as a copy of one of the partitions
- do some processing on that table
- exchange the updated table back into the partitioned table
I can achieve this as follows....

... do processing ...
ALTER TABLE MY_TABLE DROP PARTITION P7;

If I try do take out one of the middle partitions, then add it back I get an error:

Actually, you can do the exchange partition thing with 8i and over. After creating my_table from your script, I did:
SQL> INSERT INTO my_table VALUES (1,7.5);

SQL> INSERT INTO my_table VALUES (2, 7.2);
1 row created.
SQL> INSERT INTO my_table VALUES (3,7.7);
1 row created.
SQL> CREATE TABLE my_tab_tmp AS
2 SELECT * FROM my_table
3 WHERE 1=2;

SQL> ALTER TABLE my_table EXCHANGE PARTITION P7 WITH TABLE my_tab_tmp;
Table altered.
SQL> SELECT * FROM my_tab_tmp;
     VALUE PARTITION_KEY
         1           7.5
         2           7.2
         3           7.7
SQL> SELECT * FROM my_table;
no rows selected
SQL> UPDATE my_tab_tmp

        60           7.7You will, of course, need to re-build any global indexes on my_table.
When you first create my_tab_tmp, you should also create indexes to match any local indexes on the partitions, then do the exchange partition using the INCLUDING INDEXES clause. You could also skip creating the indexes and then re-create them after exchanging the updated table with the partition.
Note that none of this will work if you are changing values of partition_key so thatthey fall out of the range for the partition.

Error : Message no. F5695 number range problem

hii all
i am facing a serious error. my 'SA' document type has picked up maximum number from the assigned no range. and so that i have assigned a new no range in SA document type
but when i am doing a new doument entry in Tcode - FB50 system pick the maximum number for the newly assigned no range and getting error messege
"Number range 6000 in year 22 has been used up for company code 2011"
Message no. F5695
Co Code = 6000
No Range = 22
Fiscal year = 2011
also when i am doing vendor invoice tcode = FB60, my system also shows the same error related to that document type. please help to resolve

This is for SA document type. also when i make entry with different document type such as vendor Invoice (DR), it also picks the maximum number from the no range
You can I adjust my counter in BKPF? and how can i use the remaining no range?? in FBN1 all the no range in internal, not external
i am also facing this no range problem in CO also (Tcode = KANK).
