Problem in creating New line in --File writing(Urgent)

Hi all
I am facing a tipical problem.
I am writing a Text file using FileWriter and i am using "\n" for writing a new line,
but when i open notepad all are falling on a single line with a special char
(if i open the text file in some other editor vie wis very fine)
C-0-1@C-1-0@ C-2-1
@ is where i am writing new line.
but this king of writing is not supported by my third party tool to which i am sending the text file
as parameter..
Kindly any one provide me a solution.

newlines differ between windows and linux/unix. Windows' new line character is somthing like "\n\m" where linux uses "/n". So to keep your program platform independent I would suggest using System.getProperty("line.separator") so your code might look like:
String s = "C-0-1" + System.getProperty("line.separator") + "C-1-0" + System.getProperty("line.separator") + "C-2-1";
//then write the string to the filethis will give you the appropriate newline character for the platform your program runs on.

We are having issue with Sales BOM. Once sales BOM is reconfigure, line item is automatically deleted and creates new line item. These changes are not captured by reporting tool. Is it standard SAP behavior? if its not standard behavior, how to fix this issue?

If i am not wrong, i assume you are using site instead of plant. If it is plant , then "yes", we can have a order with same material being line item 10 and 20 with different plants. Reg delivery, if the plants are configured to a same shipping point then you will have one delievery. if the plants are configured for a different shipping point , then delivery will be split up.

Problem with creating new user in portal = portlet is not visible

I've got a problem with creating new users in portal. In the Administer tab of the builder is the user portlet not visible.
How can I make this portlet visible?

Hi..my problem slightly similar.
I created one new user, and didn't select anything from "Public Groups Assignment" and "Privilege Assignment" for him.
I expect the user will be a public user.
But, when he try to logged in the portal,
He cannot see all the PORTLETS related to database values..
All he can see just LINKS -that all in my portal right now beside the report from database that the user cannot see :)
So, what did i do wrong?

Problem in creating new communication channel template in IR

Hi experts,
I currently have problems with creating new communication channel template in Integration Repository. If I choose the New-Context (Adapter Objects-->Communication Channel Template) the dialog "CREATE OBJECT" is shown. After I have inserted the Name of my template I push the create button.
Then the following error occurs:
STOP: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode
DETAILS: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode(CANT_SET_MODIFIED).
So can anybody help me. Thanks for your help.

            This is genral problem appearing in PI 7.0 with SP12.
            Previously, i have the same problem.
            i.e STOP: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode
DETAILS: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode(CANT_SET_MODIFIED)
            Regarding this we raise an OSS note SAP people.
            they gave the suggestion that update with SP13.
          i discuss with basis team and install the SP13.
           now the problem is solved, i can able to create the Communication Channel Template.

Problem in creating new versions for existing DIR using CV01N

I am working in SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 4.0 system.
I have problem in creating new versions for existing DIR using CV01N
I create a DIR version 00 with functional location and mpd cycles. Then when i try to create a new version by copying the contents created from already created document.I change the MPD cycles in the new version and save it.
once when i display the first document created the mpdcycle specified in version 01 is copied to the 00 version.
The document is inconsistent where versioning of document doesnot work properly wrt MPDCYCLE and MP HEADER.
The problem which i found was the document identification guid remains the same for all the document versions getting created.
The same is working fine in SAP ERP6.0 EHP3.0 sytem.
Please someone help me in resolving the above issue.

Created a custom enhancement point similar to SAP ECC6.0 EHP 3.0 system.
The reason was the buffer was not getting cleared previously.After inserting the above code the DIR's are getting created withot any issues.

I have problems with creating new projects. When i try, the mac says the following "Make sure there is enough disk space and that you have permission to write the projects to the drive." I have 8GB available, so its not that.

How to insert new line char while writing bytes into file

Is it possible to insert the new line character in set of String variables and stored them into bytearray ,then finally write into File?
This is the sample code which i tried:

how am i going to get the solution?:(Do not be afraid dear sir. You are obviously using a windows operating system or a mac operating system. On windows a newline is "\r\n" not '\n', and on a mac a newline is '\r', not '\n'. If you make that correction, dear sir, your program will work.
However, there is a better way. First, you probably want to buffer your output if you are going to write more than one time to the file, which will make writing to the file more efficient. In addition, when you buffer your output, you can use the newLine() method of the BufferedWriter object to insert a newline. The newline will be appropriate for the operating system that the program is running on. Here is an example:

New line character when writing to a file

Hi,
I am relatively new to the whole logging aspect in JDK1.4, so this is all what I am trying to do. I have setup a logger , using the standard FIleHandler. This handler is using a custom formatter which I have written.
My formatter is very simple and the method format returns

now my problem is that the File that all this gets written into does not get these new line characters, instead it has a weird symbol. I guess the \n is not being recognised correctly.
Does anyone know how to fix this.

Problem when creating new SO line

Hello Everyone,
Through form personalization I have made the sales order lines non-Updatable those having status as "Release to warehouse" and those are having other than this status then it is updatable.
Suppose, there are two lines already present and second line has status like "Release to warehouse" and if I create a new line and try to save this line then the error message come up i.e. "You attempted to update a record on a block that does not allow updates."
Please provide the solution.

Having problems PrintWriter and new lines in a string

I apologise if this topic is in the wrong place, but this is my first time asking on these forums.
At the moment I have a window with an output text area which I want to store the contents of into a file. I use getText() to store the contents to a string, and then write the string to a file using a BufferedWriter. the code is as follows:
BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(file));
String contents = output.getText();
out.write(contents);
out.close();The file-name is specified by a FileChooser. All of this works fine, and the text is actually written to the file ok, except that there are no line breaks in it (it's just one continual line of text). I have tried the same process using a string containing "test\ntest" to see if it is just a problem getting the contents of the text area, however it still gives me the same problem.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Take a look at PrintWriter.
o See if you can wrap it around a BufferedWriter. (It
may alrady BE one.)
o Use it's .println(...) method.That'll still make it appear as one line though. The one-and-only "line" will have the correct platform-specific line terminator (\r\n I suppose), but the string he is writing has embedded \n characters in it, which he is expecting to show up as new lines.
The OP needs to realize that there really aren't any such thing as "lines". It's all up to the software rendering the text to treat "newline" characters/sequences special. If you were to open that file with a different tool (not Notepad, which only recognizes \r\n as newline sequences), it may display it the way you are expecting.
Or, you'll have to parse the text and convert it to the proper newline sequences before you write it to the file.

STRANGE PROBLEM with "Create New Mail Account.scpt" when creating POP acct.

I am using "Create New Mail Account.scpt" to create a POP account. It creates the account successfully. It fetches the mails successfully. Now the problem begins. After fetching all the mails once if u click "Get Mail" in mac mail, it fetches all the emails again and has now 1 original and 1 copy of the email set which is on the server. I just need 1 copy of the mail set not multiple. Please give me a solution or direct me to a help.

Hi amiaba, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I can't quite tell what it's doing, but open Keychain Access in Applications>Utilities, click on your Keychain on the left, put .mac in the search bar, once you find it, double click on it and click show password.
If you have no mail in there try this with Mail quit.
Drag this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Start Mail & see if it steps you through it.
Not sure on the .uk thing, but is Date & Time>Time Zone set to the UK?

Problem in creating new row

I am facing a strange problem. i have created many new rows and inserted the data, but now i am facing a strange problem.

Above is the table structure for which i need to add another row
I have two page one results page and another create page
In Results page i will show the above table structure with table action button "Create" in order to insert new record to table.
When i click Create button it will navigate to create page
In Create page i will get the below data

Empnumber :10
Salary :1000
Instead of

Empnumber :
Salary :
suppose now if i change the jack to jack1 , 10 to 11 , or 1000 to 10001 and click submit

Problem in Creating new Essbase Connection in JDeveloper

I have formatted my machine and installed new JDeveloper in my machine.
I am trying to create New Essbase Connection in my JDeveloper..I am giving all the server details and I can able to test the connection and the connection test will be success. After Testing I am creating the Connection, the new connection window is getting closed but the connection is not creating/ not visible under Application Resources -> Connections.
When I try to run my old application..the old connection was working fine..I have issue in creating connection for new Applications.
Could any one of you let me know how to resolve this problem.

Thanks for the reply.. I am getting the below error when I try to create the new Essbase Connection. where this file (essbase.properties ) will be located in my machine.
WARNING: Error accessing the properties file. essbase.properties: essbase.properties (The system cannot find the file specified). Using default values

New Line with File Content Conversion

I have a interesting question, I need to add a new line in the middle of a flat file. I read an idoc and using content conversion I convert it to a flat file. Is there any way I can divide the idoc into 2 parts separated by a new line?

In my opinion using the regular FCC method I guess it will be not possible to create a new line in the middle of flat file. You can take the help of java mapping as described in bleow mentioned blogs to convert it into flat file. I am not sure but you can try with these options...

Problem to create "New Database Diagram" in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio for SQL Server 2012 SQL Express

Hi,
I have installed SQL Server 2012 Express edition (name of installation media: en_sql_server_2012_express_edition_with_advanced_services_x64.exe) from MSDN and I have installed the application on my pc with Windows 7 Exterprise.
Everything is working fine except when I am trying to create "New Database Diagram", where I recieve following error message:
TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. (Microsoft.VisualStudio.OLE.Interop)
BUTTONS:
OK
I have tried two times to reinstall SQL Server 2012 Express and I have installed Cumulative Update #3 for SQL Server 2012 and restarted the machine, but I have still the same problem with the same error message.
Installed the following fixes:
1) 2012_RTM_DAC_CU3_2723749_11_0_2332_x64
2) SQLServer2012_RTM_CU3_2723749_11_0_2332_x64
These files was installed successful.
How can I solve the problem?

Hi Jan,
Have you installed Visual Studio in your machine?
The problem seems to be related to installing and uninstalling the VS 2011 RC0 program.
The workaround involves copying the files from another PC with SQL 2008 or 2012 from one machine to another. Just replace this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\MSDesigners8
