Problem in Delta update

Hai friends,
I have an Infocube that gets data from 2LIS_13_VDITM datasource. For some reason the data pull had not been successful on 11th of october. And we found it only on 1st of November. So we deleted all the requests from the IC since 10th after setting the QM status in RSMO to RED. Now when I repulled the data on 4th November, it has pulled only November's data and not data from 11th to 31st October. The data also goes to 2 other infoprovider. What do i do get entire data. Kindly help as soon as possible. Its urgent.

Hi ,
as akash said either you can fill the set up tables selectively
or follow the step by step procedure:
(benefit setup tables will contain the all historical data till do date(we are not missing any data)
1.deactivate the aggregates(as they donot contain the data after 10th oct,we need to load them freshly)
2.delete the data in cube
3.delete the init flag
a.infopackage - Menu -> Initialization parameters -> delete the init request
r/3 side
1.delte the setup tables
2.re fill the setup tables it will load all the historical data till to date
bw side
run the initialization with data
use delta Ip to run delta load
fill the aggregates

I am also having a problem with datasource 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 - when I do a full load, it works, but when I try to do a Delta load, it does not bring across any data. In transaction RSA7 on the CRM source system, the entry looks like this:
Green: Delta is recorded 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 BWQCLNT320 0

Problem with delta update on customised export data source.

Hi all BW gurus,
I have created several customised export data sources in the R/3 system. And I have made use of the utility program <Z_CHANGE_DELTA_PROCESS> to update the ROOSOURCE table.
While this can result in being able to do initial update (instead of full update), the subsuquent delta update is not working.
In RSA7, the datasource is with green light and in RSA3, the extractor can extractor data out of it.
Does anybody have some idea on this?
I heard that there is a way to change the Business Transaction Event (BTE), but I don't quite understand how this is performed. And wonder if this is the only way out. To me, the triggering point would be the same, meaning the InfoPackage would be executed, then call the extractors in R/3 to extract the delta update in order to load into the InfoCube.
And how do others do for executing delta update of the customised data source?

Data upload problem in delta update from 1st ODS to 2nd ODS

Dear Friends,
I am loading data from one ODS to another. The update mode was full upload. Sometime back an error occurred in activation of the first ODS. The error was: Full updates already available in ODS ,Cannot update init./delta. So currently daily records are pulled but not added i.e. transferred recs = 4000 but added recs = 0.
When I looked for a solution in SDN I found that using program RSSM_SET_REPAIR_FULL_FLAG for 2nd ODS will reset all full uploads to Repair Full Request which I have already done for 2nd ODS. Then initialize once and pull delta.
But problem is that I cannot set update mode to delta as I am pulling some 80,000 records in 2nd ODS from 1st ODS with around 14 lacs records daily based on some data-selection filters in infopkg. But do not see any parameters for data-selction in delta mode.
Please suggest.

Dear Sirs,
Due to this error in activation in 2nd ODS daily data upload is failing in 1st ODS.
To correct this I converted all full upload requests in 2nd ODS to Repair full requests.
But now when I scheduled the infopkg today with full upload again data was transferred but not added.
I know I cannot have init./ delta so what possibly can now be done in this scenario. Please help.

Delta updates whith mistake

Hello everybody!
I have a problem whith delta updates in a meta-chain of.
The data source is 2LIS_03_BF
The data is updated to PSA but not to the infocube.
The mistake is: The info-object 0SOLD_TO contains the value 5405 do not agree with the rules of update.
The mistake is produced because the user of R/3 enters a value in a field that should be empty.
The field in R/3 is: MSEGK-WEMPF and in data source is 0SOLD_TO
What can I do to arrange the load?
What can I do in order that this does not happen again?

Hi,
This issue can be resolved by correcting the error records in PSA and updating it into the target. for that the first step should be to identify if all the records are there in PSA. you can find out this from checking the job log in source system, details in RSMO etc. Once its confirmed force the request to red and delete the particular request from the target cube. then go to PSA and edit the incorrect records (in your case blanking out the particular field) and save it. Once all the incorrect records are edited go to RSA1>PSA find the particular request and update to target manually (right click on PSA request > Start update immediately).
This should solve your problem for now.
As a long term you can apply some user exit in source system side or change your update rules to ensure that this field is getting blanked out before getting loaded in cube.

Delta update - delete material documents

Hi,
We have some problem during delta updates for 0IC_C03 (material movement).
In the source system, we have deleted the material master, but its material documents and accounting documents still exist.
The delta updates shows error saying those deleted material doesn't exist while loading the material documents.
please help.
we have problem deleting the materials document and accounting documents in the source system.
In BI side, how to enable the delta updates?

Problem with masterdata delta update

Hi,
Iam facing problem with 0material (masterdata) delta problem i.e. I have already uploaded all the transaction and master data of a infocube. To day when Iam checking all the others working properly but only 0material master data (attrbutes and text) is not scheduling, when Iam trying to schedule it is giving the message like
The last delta update was incorrect !
Therefore, no new delta update is possible.
You can cancel the request or:
Attempt to load the data of the last delta update again
Could you pls tell me how to solve this.

Hi,
After your last failed Delta Request, where is the request ? is it in the Request Tab ? or is it in the Reconstruct Tab ?
Just make sure that the request was marked as "RED". If it is so, then the next Delta should be a REPEAT Delta.
Thats it will re load the request again.
You can delete the request from the REQUESTS tab and put it in the RECONTRUCT Tab. And then attempt a load.

Delta Update Problem when loading to Cube

Dear all.
Scenario:
DataSources 2LIS_18_NOTIF and 2LIS_18_I0TASK are extracted to ODS Daily which is a Delta Update.Weekly once they are updated to cube which is also Delta Update.This is automated by a process chain.
DataSource 2LIS_18_NOTIF failed on 27.07.2005 which we did not notice.Datasource 2LIS_18_IOTASK is fine.I did a repeat delta for 2LIS_18_NOTIF which is successful.Data upto ODS is fine.
Now the problem is loading data from ODS to cube which is Delta Update to be loaded every week.There are some Update rules written in which sy-datum is used.
Proposed Solution:
Change sy-datum for every monday date and do the delta update for 7 2LIS_18_I0TASK requests and 1 2LIS_18_NOTIF request.Delete the request from Cube,to remove delta management for 2LIS_18_NOTIF request.Now load for second week with 7 2LIS_18_I0TASK requests and the same 2LIS_18_NOTIF.Do this for all weeks and finally reconstruct all the requests which are deleted from cube.
if i follow the above approach can there be any Data inconsistency?
please help me to resolve this issue.

Hi Ravi,
If you are going to make a code change, which it looks like you are going to do, then I would suggest the following:
- Create an InfoObject called ZMondayd. Define is a type date, and allow master data.
- Input in the date you want your update rules to use
- In the update rule, change the code to read the value from the InfoObject, not sy-datum.
- Load your data.
I would also set up a process to update the InfoObject on a weekly basis to hold the date that you want. By using this method, if for some reason or another this process fails, you do not have to make any code changes, just maintain the InfoObject with the correct date, and reload the data.

Get back the Data mart status in ODS and activate the delta update.

I got a problem when deleting the requests in ODS.
actually there is Cube(1st level. it gets loaded from an ODS(2nd level). this gets loaded from 3 ODS'S( 3rd level). we were willing to delete recents requests from all the data tardets and reload from PSA. but while delting in the request in ODS(2nd level), it has displayed a window, showing as follows.
- the request 132185 already retrived by the data target BP4CLT612.
-Delta update in BP4CLT612 must be deactivated before deleting the request.
- Do you want to deactivate the delta update in data target BP4CLT612.
I have clicked on execute changes in the window. it has removed the data mart status for all the request which i have not deleted.
in the same it happened inthe 3 ODS's(3rd level).
I got clear that if we load further data from source system. it will load all the records from starting.
so to avoid this can any body help me how to reset the Data mart status and activate the delta update.

U have to make the requests RED in cube and back them out from cube,before u can go for request deletions from the base targets(from which cube gets data).
Then u have to reset data mart status for the requests in your 'L2 ODS' before u can delete requests from ODS.
Here I think u tried to delete without resetting data mart status which has upset the delta sequence.
To correct this..
To L2 ODS,do an init without data transfer from below 3 ODS's after removing init request from scheduler menu in init infopackage.
Do similar from L2 ODS to Cube.
then reconstruct the deleted request in ODS.It will not show the tick mark in ODS.Do delta load from ODS to Cube.

How can i correct a delta update?

Hi ALL,
i have a delta update in an InfoCube that is failed the 28/07/2007 the processing is a procedure to load data from yesterday (27/07/2007) (after that date all deltas was finished correctly) i don't have an error message, in the status tab of the monitor i have: short dump in the warehouse, diagnosis: The data update was not completed. A short dump has probably been logged in BW providing information about the error.
my problem is: there is a query bex based on a multicube that return no applicable data found and this cube is a part of the multicube.
when i click on the manage menu on the cube in the Requests tab on the second column i have: Request for Reporting Available and in this column i have the query sign that request is availble for reporting until the date where i have the failed delta load. (i don't know if there is the problem affected my query Bex)
one time i have seen somebody that was corrected a delta fail going in the monitor status tab clicking on the red light and after he set the set Overal Status to red (status not ok) but when you click save you get another popup ask you: set all updated requests in the ICs to this QM status?
i'm blocked in this step because i'm afraid to make a many troubles in the Cube and i don't know if i choose yes if it will affect all the requests after my failed delta request.
can Someone help me please???

Hi Amit,
1) the datatarget is being feed by one datasources.
2) after the RED request in the data target i have 5 green requests, they use PSA and update subsequently in Data targets, but when i have checked the PSA today
i see that i have only the data for yesterday and today.
i don't have reference in PSA for the load that have failed 28/07/2007
About the RED request:
1) i don't have reference in the PSA for that request
2) in the monitor of that request i have 661682 from 661682 Records
when i check the Header tab in the monitor i have the processing: From PSA into data targets and the update mode: Full update
when i click on the infopackage i have the processing tab: Only PSA and update subsequently in Data targets, the update tab is full update...i don't know why they give the name MA DELTA for the infopackage.
i have deleted the RED request and the system had put automatically the next green requests like available for reporting ....i execute the query in this time return data but without value for the june's months ...i don't know if i have make a mistake to delete the requests or no!!!

Delta Update in data Target Must be Deactivated Before deleting the request

Hi Experts,
I got an error while deleting a request from an ODS target. In breaf Let me explain..
Today one data load got failed. The data source 0CRM_SALES_CONT_I ( CRM Sales Contract : Item ) is updating data to 4 ( Four ) ODS targets.
So I forcefully made the request red to delete the request from the targets. But I unfortunately deleted another request without making it RED, I reconstructed it. Everything is looking fine.
   But the thing is , when I tried to Delete the ERROR request from the other two related Data Targets ( 0CRM_CN2P and   0CRM_CNT1) , I fount these warnings..
                --> Request 140522 already retrieved by Data Target BWPCLNT600
                --> Delta update in Data Target BWPCLNT600 must be DEACT. before deleting the request.
                --> Do you want to DEACTIVATE the Delta Update in the Data Target BWPCLNT600   ?
   I clicked on YES.
I am having doubt, will it make any problem in future ? Or How Can I Resolve this problem   ?

Deactivate delta update before deleting the request from ODS

Hi all,
Happy New Year wishes to all.
I have a scenario, where I am feeding the data to ODS from flat file and from ODS to Cube. Here ODS is a Data mart. Flat file to ODS full update and ODS to Cube First Initialization and Delta.
I deleted the latest request from ODS, at the I got the message dialog box and it is saying that
Request 98888 already retrieved by data target BWVCLNT
Delta update in data target BWVCLNT must be deactivate before deleting the request
Do you want to deactivate the delta update in data target BWVCLNT?
So I pressed Execute changes, then after I loaded the data in to ODS and when I am trying to load the data into Cube, once I pressed execute button it is displaying the message dialog box like
Delta request is incorrect REQXXXXXXX in the monitor
A repeat needs to be requested
Data target still include delta request REQXXXXX
If the repeat is now loaded, then after the load
There could be duplicate data in the data targets
Request the repeat?
After execute changes it is showing only zero Records only.
What is that mean and why zero records it is displaying instead of delta records.
Anybody faces this type of problem please let me know. This is somewhat urgent to me

Hi Satish,
First Switch off the ODS ( automatic Update of Datatarget ) , though not really necessary. delete the Req from the Infocube, then delete from the ODS . Now delete the Init Req from the Infopackage for datamart infopackage.then Do an Init without datatransfer into Infocube. Later load data into ODS and then go for delta update to Infocube.

10.10.2 will not install - tried Mac App Store and Delta updater

I'm trying to install the 10.10.2 update on a 15" MacBook Pro (Mid 2010) which currently has 10.10.1 on it and its not going well!
The Mac App Store shows the 10.10.2 update, I click Update and dropdown says "Some updates need to finish downloading before they are installed. Your computer will restart to complete the updates." with the options "Not Now" and "Download & Restart". Doesn't matter which one I choose, after a click the update progress bar appears for a few seconds and then reverts back to displaying the Update button again. Have restarted, fixed permissions etc and it makes no difference.
So I downloaded the Delta update (not the combo) and go through the install steps and the system restarts to compete the installation, but the system simple restarts and does not update to 10.10.2, its still at 10.10.1. Have tried a few times, always the same.
One slightly odd issue is that the Apple remote Desktop update 3.8.2 appears to have been installed 5 times in the "Updates Installed in the Last 30 Days" section of the Mac App Store and yet it also still appears in the updates available section below the 10.10.2 update.
I've repaired permissions, restarted, checked Activity Monitor for any non responding services and checked disk space availability - 170GB available. Can't see anything obvious.
Anyone else having trouble installing this OS update?

I have the exact same problem. Tried to install the normal and combo update. Nothing happens.
I tried the repair permissions and even the reset password method. Nothing.
Did the system restore help ? did you try to re-install yosemite first keeping your files and applications ?

Problem with delta load urgent!!

I have a problem with delta load
We have an IP, which loads data from R/3 system daily, its a delta load to the ODS and it updates to the cube with the selection on Company Codes and 0FISCPER
we are in 3.5 system
For a couple of company codes A & B, the init was done for the period 07.2010 to 12.2099 and after tht the deltas are loaded from 07.2010 till 12.2099 and there's no pblm with tht
Now, there was some updation in R/3 system and the data was maintained for the company codes in A& B for the FISCPER 001.2010 to 006.2010, for which init wasnt maintained...
now how shall we need to load the init in this case? dnt ask me how the postings was done in R/3, but my pblm is purely related to the loading data in BW from R/3, as its very imp for the customer to see the data from 01.2010 to 12.2010 in reports, but the data was only available in reports from 07.2010 onwards
do i need to create another IP and maintain the init for 01.2010 to 06.2010? so tht this selection will automatically appear in the ODS delta loading infopackage

Hi Prince,
No need to maintain any Init for this data, It will be enough if you can load the data from jan 2010 to jun 2010 into your Info Cube.
Follow the below steps:
1)create full load IP for this data source.
2) give the selection as A and B company codes and 0FISCPER as 001.2010 to 006.2010
3) in menu bar, click on scheduler --> select full repair request
4) In the next screen check the check box and save
5) Now execute the IP, it will the data with out disturbing your daily delta.
follow the same procedure to load data till to your Info Cube.

Time consuming problem in Self update rule

Hi all:
We have time consuming problem in self update rule.I have ODS ZOMS001,for this we created self update rule.In process chain we include this self update rule and during delta update,it takes 20 to 25 mins even if there is two records or 10000 records.In delta for this self update rule,it takes the whole records in ODS
EX: If i have 10000 records during initialise and 10 records in Delta update...For the delta self update rule it takes 100010 records..But it only update delta records values.
we have to reduce the total time consuming for this self update during delta..

I think retransporting is the only option available to you. You cannot modify anything in your production system.
IF you have a chance to speak with basis people,ask them to open the system status to modifiable for few minutes.
and make necessary changes in production and bring it back to normal (This is not a best practise in all situations).
