Can any body tell me solution for this problem.
When installing EP6SP3 I have choosen Portal Platform option(where we have DQE schema installation and Portal Platform option) and then updated to EP6SP6.Is it rigt?
From SDN site I got WAS with SP7 and EP with SP6 , if any new stable versions available please let me know from where I can get them.
Regards
Abhilash

Try service.sap.com/sp-stacks. EP SP9 had just arrived and you can patch your installation to the final Netweaver version
For documentation about this version, I recommend a look at service.sap.com/nw04doc.
Hope this help

  • What is the best sequence to install EP6 SP6?

    Hi,
    We want to install a fresh installation of EP6 SP6. This requires a WAS to run on.
    What should be the exact SP of WAS & EP6 that we should start with? In other words, what should be the exact sequence of steps for this installation?
    It seems from the forums on SDN that using the Sneak Preview available on SDN has resulted in problems for many of them. Hence the concern.
    I will be most happy if someone from SAP/SDN can reply to this.
    Thanks 'n Regards,
    Sagar
    Can somebody please answer this ASAP? Time is short and we have to do this fast.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sagar

    Hi Sagar,
    the guide you are looking for is on http://service.sap.com/instguidesnw04. Browse to the operations section and download "support package stack guide - SAP Netweaver04 SP Stack 04". Since you are requesting EP SP6 this is part of Stack 4. The related WebAS SP is SP7 as you can read in the guide.
    Is there a particular reason to go to SP6, why not the latest version? The sequence of steps to install depend on whether you are also planning to install other components like KMC. The document to read is on the same page in SMP, under the installation section, SAP EP, contains "Install Guide SAP EP 6.0 on WebAS 6.40". The 1st chapter has a list of steps you can follow depending on the components you plan to install. The section is called "Major Installation Steps".
    Regards,
    Serge

    I also noted, that in a file "clodscape.LOG" there are messages "4.10.2000 15:12 Thread[JDBCStartupThread,6,main] Thank you for your interest in Cloudscape products. Your evaluation license has expired. Please contact Cloudscape sales at 1-888-59JAVA1 or [email protected]"
    Maybe this is the source of the problem, not NT SP6?

    Hi all,
    this issue is normal.
    I always got this error when installing/patching the J2EE and components.
    If J2EE is yellow, wait for it to be green and choose resume.
    If it is green, resume. If it does not work, restart the J2EE as stated.
    Note 739190 is supposed to be a solution, but it changed anything for me.

    hi,
    i suggest it's the space in your install-dir. copy the whole directory in a spaceless directory (e.g. d:\install)

  • Login Problem in EP6.0

    Hi,
    We have recently installed the EP6 SP2 (2-3times on the same machine due to some patch level problem).The problem is if I login on the server or on the client machines in the lab(which are on LAN), it works fine. However, if I login from laptops(either through LAN or VPN) it again shows the login screen on every page of portal screen. I tried deleting cookies, temporary files, restarted the laptop as well as server but nothing worked.
    Can anyone help that is it something to do with the laptop cache or the EP server cache or something else.
    Thanks,
    MS

    Hello Meenakshi,
    I am wondering if you ever resolved this issue?  I am encountering the same behaviour.  In my case it only occurs when accessing the portal through a firewall.  I had port 50 opened so I see the login page, but I suspect that more needs to be done.
    Any thoughts or learnings would be appreciated.
    Regards
    John Moy

    Hi,
    Thanks for your answer.
    We have checked all existing java version.
    The server has only the version jdk 1.4.2.
    So the java version is not displayed correctly.

    When upgrading your WebAS Java from SP16 to SP18, did you upgrade also all the Adobe-related components ?
    If no this could be the source of your problem...

  • Caching problem in EP6 SPS13

    Hello,
    I developed an iView (Eclipse + PAR) and I just would like to be sure that this iView would be really executed each time it is called.
    In order to see if the iView is really executed, I display a time stamp (with milliseconds) on the screen.
    When I call this iView very quickly several times from the browser, I get the same time stamp (same millisecond several times)!
    Nevertheless, I set the properties as follow:
    - Allow Client-Side Caching = NO
    - Cache Level = NONE
    Here is an extract of my code:
        public void doContent(IPortalComponentRequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response)
              Calendar now = Calendar.getInstance();
              int hh = now.get(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY);
              int mm = now.get(Calendar.MINUTE);
              int ss = now.get(Calendar.SECOND);
              int ms = now.get(Calendar.MILLISECOND);
              int mois = now.get(Calendar.MONTH) +  1;
              int jour= now.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH);
              int annee = now.get(Calendar.YEAR);
              response.write("<br>"+jour+" / "+mois+" / " +annee+ "   "+ hh+":"+mm+":"+ss+","+ms );
    It seems that the caching is performed at the server level...
    Do you have any idea?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thierry

    There is an additional property of the Cache called the Validity Period.
    More on iView properties here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/13/81a66d100011d7b84b00047582c9f7/content.htm
    Also, the Page itself can be cached, if the iView in question is within a Portal page.
    Additionally, try the different isolation methods for the iView to see if they'll make a difference.

  • Using the HTML collection for EP6 SP11

    I am trying to configure a custom interface using the HTML Collection.
    My problem is that the "How to " guide is for EP6 SP6 and I'm using EP6 SP11 which does not seem to have a place to attach the HTML file I have created to the layout set.
    Can anyone tell me how to do this?

    See How do you create a HTML collection rendered in EP6 SP11

  • Error in the standard htmlb.jar from EP6 SP9 (HTMLx)

    I've successfully migrated my custom developed applications from EP5 SP5 to EP6 SP9. I've used the well known 3rd party
    HTMLxframework for the DatePicker and Locale corrections only (I am a brazilian developer).
    In the org.sapportals.htmlb.rendering there is a class named RenderUtil.
    This class has two places with this specific code:
    ResourceBundle r = ResourceBundle.getBundle("java.text.resources.LocaleElements", locale);
    Which is very wrong as the "java.text.resources.LocaleElements" is available only until j2sdk 1.3. In the EP5 that runs under 1.3 there's no problem but EP6 uses j2sdk 1.4 and this packages has been relocated from the standard package to a "ext" (extension) package and been renamed as "sun.text.resources.LocaleElements".
    So, as HTMLx uses this RenderUtil class, I had to decompile the original from the htmlb.jar using JAD and corrected the above line with the following new line or code:
    ResourceBundle r = ResourceBundle.getBundle("sun.text.resources.LocaleElements", locale);
    More than that, I had to change several places of the HTMLx's HxInputFieldRenderer to reflect the class name changes made to the CSSs of the EP6. In the new version SAP does not open a pop-up window for the DatePicker. Instead they chose to rewrite it as a dynamic layer. So the HTMLx code has to change to reflect that.
    Here follows the workaround version of HxInputFieldRenderer.java (notice that some strings are not internationalized, I just copied and pasted the parts I needed, so it's not a definitive version, but will help you get a clue of what to do):

  • WebLogic 5.1 sp6 .. session in cluster not working properly

    It seems like there is a problem in Weblogic 5.1 with sessions in a
              clustered environment. The problem is immediately visible with sp3 but
              also appears in different form with sp6 . I discovered the problem is
              actually with session while testing the cluster with a Session servlet
              given with the Weblogic 5.1 kit.
              I regiestered the servlet as servlet/session.
              The environment is briefly as follows:
              Solaris 2.6
              Weblogic 5.1.0 sp3 or sp6 - 2 servers clustered and running on same
              machine with two multihome addreses like home1:7001 and home2:7001
              Cluster properties in mycluster/weblogic.properties are set as,
              weblogic.httpd.clustering.enable=true
              weblogic.httpd.session.enable=true
              weblogic.httpd.session.persistence=true
              weblogic.httpd.session.persistentStoreType=replicated
              and also started with required cluster properties in startup.
              iPlanet 4.0 webserver - obj.conf has entries like
              WebLogicCluster="home1:7001,home2:7001"
              All requests are made as http://<host>/servlet/session
              sp3 ) After both members are booted up, the first call to session
              servlet from any new browser session throws a NullException in server,
              but subsequent calls work fine. Single server works fine.
              After looking at sp6 release notes it appeared to me that it was a known
              problem with cluster.
              sp6 ) After both members are booted up, all calls to session servlet do
              not complete and eventually it times out. Other servlets work fine.
              It only works if we do these steps,
              - one of the member is booted up and then session servlet is called and
              response comes back.
              - second member is booted up and it works well if session servlet is
              called. Subsequent requests to both members work fine.
              Another strange behaviour:
              While running a snoop servlet in cluster subsequent requests show,
              Requested url :
              either http://<host>/servlet/snoop
              or http://<host>:7001/servlet/snoop alternatively
              which is strange.

    You are not using the same service pack on both the servers. let try do that and see how it goes.
              1. Also, if you are doing testing why do you so many threads.
              2. The servers are unable to open sockets to each other. Could be network related. Please check into that also, but first start the servers with the same service pack.
