Problem in HFR
Hi All.
There is small issuee with my report
Grid:-
I had taken Accounts Dim in row and periode and Year in col and other dim as user POV
There are other DIM like A1, A2 and etc....
Now the issue is user wants A1 and A2 Dims as multi select, when i checked for members of A1 i don't see any PROMPT option i can only see user poit of view and dim name, same issue with A2 dim also.
So,how can i make A1 and A2 as multi select.
its really urgent case.

You can select those two dimensions also in the rows.
You can set prompt for the two dimensions as the prompts are multi select.
If you dont want those two dimensions in the Report display you can hide that Report columns.

Having problems with HFR/Planning Classic Aplication Workspace
Guys,
I'm getting two problems here with Financial Reports:
1) The row autosize option works in web presentation mode but when i change to pdf it doesn't work.
2) The task with the smartcut url (the one that have workspace launcher) works fine in my browser but in the user browser it requests another login, do you know how to solve this problem? The single sign on option is checked in the task. I tested the user login in my browser and it worked fine. Probably a browser configuration issue.
The hyperion version is 11.1.2.1.

Financial Reporting Expansion Problem
Dear All,
I have this problem with HFR I hope you can help me solving it.
I created a report that contains a grid and a pie chart based on it. grid has Accounts as rows.
when expanding accounts, all descendants of accounts are shown but accounts member still exists.
Pie charts displays accounts portion = 50% and all its descendants the other 50%.
How can I change this behavior? I want accounts to be suppressed after expanding it.
Your help is very appreciated.

HFR Range from and to - Not working correctly for hierarchies?
Hi All,
Can anyone help me with my below issue relating to ranges in Oracle’s Hyperion Financial Reporting Studio tool.
The issue I’m experiencing is that when I create a report and use the ‘Add Relationship’ -> ‘Range’ option for my month dimension, the correct months are returned as long as the start month and end month are not the same.
In our setup we have 2 month hierarchies, one for the fiscal year (July to June) and another for the calendar year (January to December). The problem that I’m noticing in the report, is that when I enter a range from July to July, that instead of returning July, it returns July, August, September, October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May, June, July. My though it that it is looping through both the fiscal and the calendar hierarchies to return the range, instead of only the fiscal hierarchy. Both these hierarchies have the same members, however ordered differently.
Does anyone know of a way to resolve this within HFR?
I noticed that when creating the range, there is an option to ‘select a hierarchy’. At the moment there is only 1 choice ‘ Period’, however I’m curious if I could create and link a hierarchy to the fiscal hierarchy, that this might resolve the problem?
Any ideas?

IIRC Range uses the first (main) hierarchy - so you'll need to move the Fiscal year one to be first in the outline.

Problem With Chart (Members Name)

We are facing the one new issue in FR as well as HFM. we are using the data bast to HFR is HFM.While we are creating the HFM application Profile we used the Period's Lables as January ,febuary.....,.we catching the same in HFR also it good.
But at one stage (trend reports) we have to generate the reports including with charts and both (*grid and Chart should be in one page only*). here we are facing the problem the report made up two col's (year & Period) and one row(Scenario).If we check the chart to show the Horizontal value like January 2007,February2007 and so on . so that the system will covers morespce and grid will moves next page but we need both in one single page.
Any suggestions on this Its cery Urgent

RaoThere are several options:
Try formatting that axis to have the month names at an angle.
Use the member name instead of description for months.
Don't show the year.
Change the axis that months are on, or pivot the grid (rows to columns). -
Logo image not displayed in PDF preview in HFR Studio reports
Hello All
I need to display a logo image on every page of an hfr report. The logo is visible in web-preview and print preview. But when the report is run in PDF preview, logo is not visible.
A header text box is also used which visible in all formats but not the logo.
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

NehaThe image is a jpg image. I have also tried using and image already saved in hfr's repository.
But still I'm not able get the image in pdf format of report*
The same image is visible in web-preview and print preview*
I don't think issue is because of position of image because I tried including the image in an empty report as well.
The problem is still there with the pdf preview*
Is there something else that could be done to display the image in pdf preview of report????

Can anyone tell me how to increase the width of the designer page, it always show me up to 8. I guess we can extend up to 10, Can any one tell me how to increase the designer page width.in HFR 7.3

We can do page protection functionality inside table of main window using Folders option. Follow the below steps,
1. Assume rows are created inside table in a main window, with corresponding line types.
2. Create a folder named PROTECT inside table, for example in Main area of table.
3. Just drag and drop your Row(s) into folder PROTECT and simply click page protection check box of the folder PROTECT.
4. This will help you to add the required functionality using Folders option in smartform.
Try this and update me in case of any concerns. Hope this will solve your problem.

HFR - Tried to create a bottom line / border line on EVERY single page
Currently deal with this issues -
Trying to make my report in HFR to perfect.
I have a report created in HFR. It vary, can run from 2, 3, 4 ,5 pages.
The PROBLEM: at the bottom of each page, there is no line (go across the page) to close that page.
example: __________________________________________________________
It looks...not too good now.
1. Page break : not working
2. Separeate Grid: Not working
3. Condition formatting: not working
What i have to do is manually output the report into excel and re-formatted it.
Then add the line from excel.
Is there a way in HRF to help this issues resolve??Please select the Grid in FR Report and you will see the Grid properties on your right side, then you can see the check box of "Auto Size"
If it is selected already then un check it. -
Error in db conn using HFR Studio
Hi Folks,
I'm getting the following error msg while trying to establish a new db connection on HFR Studio:
*"Error connecting to database connection Sample: Sample"*
I'm using the following values in DB Connection Properties:
DB Connection Name: Sample
Type: Essbase
Server: axe
UserID: hypuser
Password: password
Application: Sample
Database: Basic
I have made sure that my Sample:Basic application is started using EAS. I am also able to access Sample:Basic fine via Excel Addin and Smartview, but when I try to create a new db conn. using HFR Studio or Workspace and the above conn values, I get either the +"Error connecting..."+ msg or a +'Null'+ error msg in case of Workspace.
Could this problem have something to do with user privileges? I have one Admin user that I've provisioned on SS for all available roles, including all Hyperion System 9 BI+ roles. Also my hosts file has proper mapping between +'axe'+ and host IP address. I even tried using localhost instead of axe, but to no avail. Do I need to specify a port number following the server name? I have also tried re-starting all Hyperion services in the prescribed order, but this doesn't help either. Fyi- my db is Oracle 10g XE.. and I have given +'hypuser'+ all possible privileges
Appreciate any guidance. This is the first time I'm working w/ HFR.

AkshayI get the same connection error even I try using admin / password instead of hypuser / password. Could my problem be due to not having externalized 'hypuser' in EAS? Does HFR need Hypuser to be externalized and provisioned in shared services in order to use Hypuser in a db connection ? I know this isn't true for Excel Addin or Smartview, but may be HFR works differently in this respect?
Look forward to your response. Sorry for the novice question, but I just started learning Hyperion a month ago.

The problem is that you don't have the option 'Annually', 'Quarterly' or 'Monthly' anywhere in your database so the only way you can achieve this is to use some Member Sets to create this for you. Try the following, it seems to work for me:
for the Period dimension select OfSameGeneration from the functions tab of the member selection box and then for the member within that function select Current Point of View.
When a user selects any month on their POV it should return the 12 months, if they select a quarter it should return the 4 quarters and if they select YearTotal it will only return 1 column (If you are using Planning you may need to use the advanced options or conditional suppression to hide the BegBalance column as this will be the same generation as YearTotal.

Rolling months in HFR ---- Really Urgent

We are using HRF to generate Reports connecting to and Essbase Database 11.1.2 Versions,
in HFR we need 12 rolling months as per user request,
User will select one Period and he need previous 11 months information...
I tried to Period -1 to Period -11 function period is changing fine but problem is with Year Dim.. how Year will change
Here user may select DEC of current Year and he need information of previous 11 months which falls in previous year...
How the Year will change this is Big Challenge we are facing ......
It would be grate help..... we have to present to client by today EOD........

so that you have:
- prior year with month (from POV to Dec) hiding POV
- current year with month (from Jan to POV)
(assuming you run a Jan to Dec year in your month outline/financial calendar) -

If you get that error after installing the client and starting it up then you will need to run the hyperion configuration utility.
It will be accessible from the start menu, start it up, choose financial reporting and apply and the client should be ok to use.
