Problem in Index administration

i am able to add webaddresses in System Administration -> System Configuration ->Knowledge Management ->Content Management -> Repository Managers -> Web Addresses. But the same is not reflected in www folder of KM.
When i try to map datasource from the www folder under documents, its creating folder only for few sites.
Could anyone please help on this.
<i>Ponits will be rewarded for solution</i>

Hi Krishna,
Check the below:
1) Your TREX host name and index service port number in the trex service.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/46/bab1d48b0a1514e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm
2) Make sure also that your firewall settings are ok.
Hope that helps.

  • Index administration status

    Hello all,
    I have problems with my index administration status. Sometimes the status is green and sometimes red. But I do always the same things. I select all my indizes and click "reindex". After this process I select all indzes and click "incremental update". So, after that I go to Monitoring -> KM -> TREX -> queue status change and I let all indizes work out (in German it means "Abarbeiten" - I don't know if "work out" is the correct translation). The index monitor is OK and there are no errors.
    The application protocol in systemconfig -> KM -> index administration shows also no errors!
    If I go over the status icon I can see an error (something like a data source could not been correct indexed).
    Why have I such problems? What is my mistake?
    Kind regards and thanks in advance
    Susa

    Rani:
    the versions of the components are:
    SAP KM Rel. 7.00
    Support Package 09 (currently updating to 10)
    TREX 7.0.27
    I found out that there are really inconsistencies in index administration. The time of the index start is sometimes right and in next moment, when I refresh, it is an hour earlier... It's confusing
    Bettina:
    I looked for document status in trex monitor and all documents are OK. It's sort of weird... As I said sometimes the status is green and sometimes not... But I recognized that I shouldn't start reindexing and after that incremental update. I started so only reindexing and at the moment all indizes are green..... I hope that it is also so when I add a document.
    Kind regards,
    Susa

  • Problem with index in merged projects

    Dear Sir,
    I have a problem with index in the master project, I can only
    view the master project index keywords under the index tab. My
    master project contains 2 topics besides the other sub projects. I
    have created index for all sub projects indvidually and at the end
    I created the master project index.
    I made sure that the 'Binary Index' flag is ticked before
    compilation and stil the problem is on, do somebody know what could
    be the problem.

    Hi,
    Two points here.
    Firstly, you can duplicate SSL's. (Right click on an SSL in
    the projects sub-directory and select the duplicate layout option.
    This will give you a copy of the original SSL).
    I tend to have two SSL's - one is local and I use that every
    time I test compile the project when I'm working on it.
    The other is set to output to the master project. I use that
    once I'm happy with the sub-project and start working with the
    master project.
    Second point is to be aware of how RoboHelp treats the
    imported/merged .chm files from the sub projects.
    It imports them into the main project master directory - then
    when the master project is compiled it puts a copy of them into the
    master project SSL. However, if you re-compile it doesn't overwrite
    the files that are already in the master project SSL directory.
    This is why you have to be aware of where the sub project
    .chm files are going - you need to make sure that if you revise the
    sub projects, a fresh copy of the .chm files ends up in the output
    SSL directory of the master project.

    I guess you need a crawler to find out what you need to index. To find out what your crawler did, have you checked in the menu:
    System Administration -> Monitoring -> KM -> Crawler Monitor
    Maybe this will help you find out why your crawler didn't finish correctly.
    Hope this helps,
    Wolfgang

  • KM iviews, KM Content, Index Administration showed Portal Runtime error

    Hi Experts,
    We recently tried migrating our BI production portal to new hardware. The Portal version was not changed just it was migrated from one server to another. After migration the portal restarted properly but the KM iviews, KM Content and Index Administration showed "Portal Runtime Error".
    We restarted the portal several times but still the same. Also the KM services were running.
    We had migrated the BI development portal in similar manner couple of months back but it did not showed any such error. It was successful in first attempt.
    Can anyone please suggest what must have gone wrong and how can this be corrected? Is there any monitoring or tracing tool we can use to check this. Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Will redeploying the com.sap.km.applications.par file help?
    Please provide some solution so that this error will be resolved without effecting the KM Content.

  • Problems with Indexing and Classification

    hi KM Gurus,
    We faced some problems in Indexing and Taxonomies for which I would like to know the solution/reason.
    (1) We tried providing query based classification in which the query condition which is based on the "Content" alone worked for us. Whenever we tried specifying conditions based on "file extension" or "title", it didn't work out. Did that work for anybody else?
    (2) Also we are not able to get any proper info about the various options that are available while creating a query based classification. For example, there are two options like "title" and "string title". But we donno the difference b/n the two. If it works out we can find the difference. But it is not working too. So we are not able to find the difference between the two.
    (3) And I tried setting the crawler parameter of my own instead of the standard crawler. But the index was found to be inactive when i set that to my crawler and it worked fine with the standard crawler. I am not able to make it active. Any clues behind this?
    Expect all your guidance and help.
    best regds,
    alagammai.

    Hi Alagammai,
    concerning issues (1) and (2).
    Normally the mentioned properties are displayed as 'Name' and 'Namme as String'.
    These two properties are(in most cases) the title of the document.
    One is indexed  in 'Text' format. The other one in 'String' format. That results into different opportunities within the query based classification.
    'Displayname as String' can be used to sort documents alphabetically: A, B, ... into categories.
    'Displayname' allows you to do a linguistic scan on document titles.
    To separate file types I would use the property MIME-Type.
    But you may try to define a query *.doc for the property 'Name as String'.
    Regards Matthias

    I would really appreciate any help here!
    thank you very much and greeting from germany!

    Hmmm,
    You want to create a tablespace in a Java program?
    I would not think this is recommended practice. This is typically done by a system administrator. If your database configuration needs change (or if image comparison software tablespace needs change due to an upgrade), it would be great for the system administrator to be able to configure the tablesppaces without the application having this hard coded.
    That being said, I would try this in PL/SQl first. The user who performs this tablespace function must have sysadmin privleges (which more than suggests the database tablespaces should be set up by the system adminstrator).
    The typical database user is not allowed to make tablespaces.
    I would create the tablespace as system (or sys)first... Perhaps you did this? I think 1 meg is a bit small as well for an initial size...
    Are the tablespace files created at all?
    Can you do this in PL/SQL and post the results of creating the tablespace (as user sys or system)? and then creating the index?
    Thanks,
    Larry

  • Problems for ora9i administrator

    hey
    could you see this administration problems, and tell me how to solve it
    the problem is :
    At the end of the day one Monday, DB administrator tried to run an application working against Oracle 9i database, he got following error message:
    ORA-01115: IO error reading block from file 13 (block #66771)
    ORA-01110: Data file 13:'/ndxs/oradata/Prod/df001.dbf'
    Where df001.dbf is one of the Index tablespace files.
    Q1: what do these messages indicate and what are the possible causes of this problem.
    Q2: what actions you will do trying to solve this problem, given that the database is running in archive mode.
    Q3: To enable fast failover when a production outage occurs, oracle has a feature called DATA GUARD.
    3-1 Describe briefly how can you use this feature and what are its benefits.
    3-2 Make a list of the steps you should do to run this feature on your database.

    Why does this have the smell of a homework problem?

  • Problem with index of numbers in BSP Front end

    Hello All,
    I am facing the below problem. Request your help.
    Scenario: When I am trying to add the projects in the Front end , I am facing the problem with the index of numbering of the projects.
    Example: If I am adding 6 projects ( at the max only 4 on each page i-e there are 2 pages ), then the index is wrongly numbered and the arrow (for direction of the pages) are wrongly displayed. The direction of the arrow is pointed to the next page rather pointing to the previous page and the index of numbering of the pages is wrong.
    Request you to please suggest if this is any code fault in the table maintainance activity in the backend (BSP).

    Hi Irina,
    If you mean the number range is skipping 10 numbers in between runs then its because of the buffering in the number range.
    To avoid the buffer influencing the number range, pass
    'X' to the function module parameter: IGNORE_BUFFER.
    This should resolve the problem.
    Cheers,
    Aditya

  • Problem generating index with 2th level in cs4

    Windows XP sp 3 - Indesign CS4 601
    When generating an index with a 1st and a 2th level, in the 2th level the entry of the 1st entry is always repeated.
    E.g. the index should look as this:
    text     75
         capitalized     76
         import     78
    word     105
         language     108
         meaning     109
    But actually the index looks as this:
    text     75
         textcapitalized     76
         textimport     78
    word     105
         wordlanguage     108

    Is this a bug, or is there a solution for it?

    Oops!
    Just tested the script.
    I run it, and I get the script alert 'All Done' at the end.
    But nothing happens.
    This is what I do:
    - I generate the index.
    - I select the index with the text tool (select all or just put the textcursor somewhere in the index makes no difference).
    - I run the script
    - I get the message 'all done', but there is no difference. The problem persists.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks anyway.

  • Problem setting Index value on ComboBox

    I am running into a problem with setting the index on a
    dropdown box. I will try to give as much detail as possible. From
    what I can tell, it should be working and does, but only for one
    item. If anyone can suggest a different group to post to, let me
    know. I can not find a solution anywhere.
    I have the following code to show a combobox. The data is
    derived from a XML config file. The combobox itself works fine and
    does in fact show all of the data from the XML config file.
    <mx:HBox>
    <mx:Label text="Status" width="55"/>
    <mx:ComboBox id="uxstatus" dataProvider="{_xmlVulnStatus}"
    labelField="status"/>
    </mx:HBox>
    The part of the XML config file that is used to populate the
    combobox.
    <mainconfig>
    <vulnstatus>
    <status>Open</status>
    <status>In Progress</status>
    <status>Closed</status>
    </vulnstatus>
    </mainconfig>
    Now, when a user selects an item from a separate datagrid, on
    change I have it run the following function. The function reads in
    the data, parses it and compares the "status" value from the
    datagrid info with the "status" options in the XML config file.
    When it matches, it sets the index number for the combobox so it
    shows the right data. My problem is below the function.
    public function parseMSVulnStatus(evt:Event):void {
    var xmlMSV:XML = XML(msdetailed.selectedItem); //the host
    dataProvider item
    //trace ("MS Vuln status = "+xmlMSV.status);
    for ( var MSVi:Number=0; MSVi<_xmlVulnStatus.length();
    MSVi++ ) { //loop over the items in the dataProvider
    var sDataValueCurMSV:String =
    _xmlVulnStatus[MSVi].valueOf(); //get the current item.data value
    if ( sDataValueCurMSV == xmlMSV.status ) { //compare desired
    value to current item.data value
    mx.controls.Alert.show("match found - MS Vuln status =
    "+xmlMSV.status +" and MSVi = " +MSVi);
    msstatus.selectedIndex = MSVi; //set the seletedIndex of the
    combo box
    else {msstatus.selectedIndex = -1}
    if (msdetailed.selectedItem.falsepos=='Y')
    {msfalsepos.selected=true;}
    The problem. If the value from the datagrid is "Closed", it
    shows the index as being "2" and sets the combobox index
    appropriately and displays "Closed". The alert box is displayed
    (for testing) to show the values.
    If the value from the datagrid is either "Open" or "In
    Progress", it does show the proper index as being either 0 or 1,
    respectively and shows the alert box. However, the combobox appears
    to be set to -1. I have verified the data is set properly in the
    database (which is what populates the datagrid).
    Any thoughts on this? Based on my alert box, it appears that
    the data is seen properly and that it knows how to set the index of
    the combobox.... it's just not happening (unless it's "Closed").
    Thanks in advance.
    Chris

    you could force a selected index using something like
    mydatagrid.selectedIndex=0 or 1 try this pos i made for someone
    beacause if you want to cange the value of field based on selection
    this could be simpler by using an xml file with all the value for
    each record in one object

  • Problem with index.jsp and JSF

    hi all
    I have an index page "index.jsp" in the root directory of deployed project and in that page there is just a <jsp:forward> tag:
    <jsp:forward page="pages/mainPage.jsf" />I am using facelets and I have a template.xhtml
    when I run the browser nothing will be desplayed. by looking at Tomcat console, it seems that it renders the template.xml. if I place the path of the page directly in the address bar of browser, everything is OK
    http://localhost:8080/myproject/pages/mainPage.jsf
    but if I put following, it doesnt work.
    http://localhost:8080/myproject/
    I set the welcome-page to index.jsp in web.xml, and my pages are located in a directory namely "pages"
    any help will be appreciated.
    regards
    Mohammad

    I'm not sure what the problem is exactly. This topic might help though:

    Be sure to read right to the bottom. You may be able to try a couple other things.

  • Problem with index markers and importing MS Word 2007 files

    This was ugly in that it wasn't caught until after a book had been typeset and the index was being finalized. I'm now having to go back and manually insert a zillion index markers. Not fun.
    This was my first project since migrating from FM 7.1 to FM9.0.3.
    Source documents are Microsoft Word 2007. Am working in Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit.
    When the Word files were imported into FrameMaker, only SOME of the index markers were imported. The difference between those that were imported and those that weren't was seemingly random.
    I did some testing and found the problem and a solution.
    Looking at the source Word .docx file, and displaying hidden text shows two types of index markers:
    1. { XE "word to be indexed"}
    2. {xe "word to be indexed"}
    Note the difference in case and the extra space after the opening brace in #1. Markers of type 1 were imported fine. Markers of type 2 were stripped by the import process.
    The solution:
    Backsave the Word file to Word 2003 format (.doc) before importing into FrameMaker.
    I backsaved to Word 2003 and imported using both the "Microsoft Word" and "Microsoft Word 2007" filters and both filters imported correctly. It's only when trying to import a Word 2007 .docx file directly that things run amok.
    Grr...

    Thank you for posting your solution, Dan. It's cold comfort, but I've also ran into this issue in the past, almost certainly well before Word2003 though, probably as far back as Word2000 or earlier.
    In your testing, did you try saving as RTF to see if the markers were homogenized, by any chance? In my simple testing just now, Word itself recognized the index field correctly no matter whether I changed the field to "xe" or "XE", but FM's import of the .docx file format wouldn't recognize "xe", only "XE". But importing an RTF file handled both upper- and lower-case entries.
    Ah, yes, that's it -- saving the Word2007 file as RTF (with 2 fields, one caps, one lower-case) changed cap field to lower-case when the RTF is opened in Word again, so saving as RTF does homogenize the fields to lower-case. Is it possible that your file(s) were changed to or saved as RTF at any point in their life-cycle? I believe some older versions of Word were actually RTF under the hood, too -- if you do Save As in Word2007 you can scroll through the File Type entries and see "Word 97-2002 & 6.0/95 - RTF (*.doc)"  I believe some doc management systems change binaries to RTF too, or conversely some apps create RTF but they name the files as doc.
    So Word itself recognizes either lower- or upper-case, and FM's RTF import handles both, but not the .docx import.
