Problem in installing 9i Application Server

Hi,
I have got Windows 2000 Professional (not server) installed on my machine. My machine configuration is PIII, 800MHz, 256MB RAM.
I have installed oracle8.1.6 database. When I try to install Oracle 9i Application Server on that, it continues till 58% and gets hang while accessing discoverer4web properties. I had waited for another 60 min, but it didn't proceed further.
I am using Developer2000 ver 6i. My main concern to use application server is that I want to create form using Developer2000 6i, data is at Oracle816 level, maintain form at application server level and to host it on web so that I can access it through HTML page or through any other way without installing any thing related to Oracle. The client machine should be the ordinary machine not having anything related to Oracle on it.
My customer wants to run his D2K application through web.
Kindly, let me know whether it is possible or not? If yes, then what is the procedure of that?
Again, kindly let me know what could be the probable reason and the solution of my Oracle 9i Application Server installation process?
Is my Hardware configuration is sufficient? If no, suggest me for that as well.
Thanks.
Regards,
Mihir Agrawal

    Hi again,
Port and OID password info, it's same you entered during Infrastructure installation.
    Information required from Infrastructure.
1.How to find non-ssl OID port in Infrastructure home?
go to infrastructure home and open => $ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.ini. Search for Oracle Internet Directory port.
Usually, non ssl OID port is 389.
    2. OID password
    3. SYS password of Infrastructure database is required during Midtier installation.

    Hi,
Java ES 2005 Q1 is not supported on Windows 2003.
Please use Java ES 2005 Q4 release.
If you still encounter problems, please provide the following details
    - What type of configuration did you choose?
    - Was there a Summary.txt file created where you installed Java ES?
(need to see contents of that)
    - JDK1.5.04 is required so it is correct behavior that installer is placing that on your disk - further installation will not do this.
    - Installation log can be found at

  • Install Oracle Application Server on same as database server

How to Install Oracle Application Server.
Can I install on the same server as database server
Can some body provide a simple tutorial for Windows Installation.
    Ss

If there is no licensing issues - then I could advice SOA Suite installation - there should be AS as well and many other features (BPEL e.g.). Personally I cann't see any need for installation manual as all the installation and configuration assistance poceeds automatically. Documentation can be found http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver.html - usually zip contains large library of pdf, installation manual including.
Well - my problem is that I have installed partially SOA Suite (configuration assistants failed at web services) on machine without DB server, then I installed DB server and now I am trying to deinstall SOA Suite - but now for some days machine shows 100% CPU consumption and no any visible actions (no new errors as well)... What should I do? Kill the process and try to manually remove SOA? I plan after make another SOA installation after removal of this one.
Thanks in someone can help me!

Could it be workable to install Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2 (Itanium version) on

Note that (as it is stated in the above certification matrix, point #19), you can only install a mid-tier instance there. Infrastructure installation type is not supported on it.

  • Install Oracle Application Server

I have an Oracle 8i database running. Now I want to install Oracle Application Server 9i in a new home, as the installation guide says.
When doing this another 8i database is installed. Is that necessary or can it be avoided???

It shouldn't be installing another database. Where in the installation steps do you see this happening? The install guide may provide some help. It contains a section that shows you each screen you should see during the installation process:
