Problem in Installing 9i Enterprise Edition

Can Someone help me with installation of 9i Enterprise edition. Whenever I run the setup it Asks the oracle home path and then gives installation successful in just 1 minute but actually it does not install anything nor does it asks for other directories and parameters given in the installation documentation of forms server. I am installing Forms and reports server from enterprise edition on an NT, 128 MB machine.
Are there any other prerequisites for installation of forms server.

Ensure that your $ORACLE_HOME environment is properly set. It shoud be different than where you installed the database. Ensure that you have write permissions to the directory you are trying to write to.

Delete the old database with the help of the dbassist.
run dbassist again and create your custom database then at the end do not run the scripts - Save it to batch file.
run the batch file.

Problem Installing Oracle Enterprise Edition 8.0.4.0

Hi All,
While installing Oracel Enterprise Edition 8.0.4.0 on win 2000 server. I am getting following errors.
1. The memory could not be "read". (Application Error)
2. Unable to delete the NT service for the SQL*Net V2 Listener.
3. Failed to Create Windows NT service.
Again somehow I manage to install it, It won't work fine. Everytime I run Oracle Installer or Enterprise Manager it gives me an application error.
Pls. help me.....

De-install oracle enterprise edition 11g

Hello, I was installing oracle enterprise edition 11.2g and my pc shuted down. It installed but I don't know if I should have done any other setting, so I want to de-install it.
I run the command Deinstall in the command prompt and it asks me to write : Specify all Single Instance Listeners that are to be de-configured [LISTENER]:
Can you tell me how I can find which listeners I should write on ? Thank you.

Hie the "Enter" button to accept defaults - the default listener name is LISTENER, so this should suffice

Problem install 9i Enterprise Edition

Hello I am installed Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition about Windows 2000 sp4. In the option 'configuration of database', i set Personality.
In Database Creation step I get an error:
Ora 01041 the hostdef extension does not exist and the error 0ra-24324, or the error
'oracle not available'
What is the problem?
If I install Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition in the same machine and in the option 'configuration of database' I set 'USE GENERAL' I donÂ´t have any problem.
I need the personality option because I change some parameters and the option archive log.
What can I do?

I am installing Oracle 816 on Win 2K Server. Its installing everything except I am getting error while in the
process of creating Instance and Initializing it.
I am getting
Oracle Database Configuration Assistant Alert
"ORA-12638: Credential retrieval failed"
while in the process of copying database files and initializing database. And the process is halting
at this point with showing 85% completion. Do you think any conflict between OS files between Win 4.0
and Win 2K?
What do I have to do to resolve this.
I tried to Install on 3 machines and I get this problem on all machines. But, when I Upgrade to Win 2K from NT 4.0 and doing the Oracle 816 Installation, I am succesfull.
This is happening only on fresh Install of Win 2K.

Problem while installing discoverer desktop edition

I find few error messages while installing discoverer desktop edition..
When i give oracle home as
name:OracleHome92
Location: DiscovererDesk
it gives me a error
" oracle discoverer doesnot support multiple installations thus it cannot be installed on oracleHome92.It can only be installed on 'OraHome92'"
When i give oracle home as
name:OraHome92
It automatically takes my 9i oracle home path i.e E:\oracle\ora92 and gives me a error like
"The location specified 'E:\Oracle\ora92', is already used an oracle home for an
'Oracle 82 beta'.It cann't be used as an oracle home for nt."
I have oracle 9i and form6i,report 6i installed in my system.
Please suggest me ..

The easiest way to get a fully working TNSNAMES in a version 4 environment is to use the Net 8 Configuration utility.
Here's a workflow:
1. From the Start button, select Start | Oracle for Windows NT | Oracle Net8 Easy Config
2. When it starts, check Add New Service and in the little box to the right type the name by which you want this connection to be known
3. Click the Next button
4. Select TCP/IP (Internet Protocol) and click the Next button
5. Enter the fully qualified domain name or IP address of the server that contains the database
6. In Port, enter the port number - it defaults to 1521
7. Click the Next button
8.In Database SID enter the name of the database, then click the Next button
9.Click the Test Service button
10. Provide a username and password for an account on the database, then click the Test button
11. If you see: Connecting.... The test did not succeed you got the username/password combination wrong or some other part of the setup
12. When you see: Connecting.... The connection test was successful click the Done button
13. Click the Next button
14. Click the Finish button
You should now have a valid TNSNAMES connection for use by Discoverer 4

Problem in installing 10g express edition on windows 8

I have installed oracle 10g express on windows 8.it was successfully installed.when i try to make a qurey it says data not found.Though table is successfully created.But when i try to fetch the data from table using "select * from table_name" its says data not found.i dont no what is the problem..if anyone has the solution please mail me at [email protected]

Said that XE 10g is not certified for Windows 8 (Oracle&reg; Database Express Edition), please post the exact commands you executed and error(s) you got.
Did you insert data in that table ? and did you select from the same session, or another one ? if another one, did you commit after inserting ?

Error while installing 8i enterprise edition

While installing 8i (8.1.6) on NT it is showing error like this
Java run time enviornmet not found at
../stage/Components/oracle/jre/1.1.7/1/Datafiles/Expanded\win32\bin\jrew.exe
I installed JRE version 1.1.7 on my machine.
But still showing the same error!!!!!!!!!

I try to create one new ldap istance from web dscc but i have the same problem. I try to register the ldap instance directly from dscc but i have the same problem
With other ldap version I don't have problem.

We have found DSCC in 11.1.1.7.0 is much more sensitive to SSL cert issues. Make sure your Directory Server SSL certificates are set up correctly and then remove from DSCC and add again. Then click the "refresh" button in DSCC. You may also want to double-check your dsccagent installation and make sure it is properly registered.

Problem during install Adobe digital editions 3.0 setup

my dears,
my ADE 3.0 does'nt run now, after a half jear!
A new installaton is'nt possible, because the same mistake-info is coming: Mistake on overwriting the data file D:\Eigene Dateien\My digital Editions\welcome.epub...see image:
The delete of the program data and all other data files and a new install was also unsuccessful! The same mistake-info was shown!
Have anybody an idea or a sulution?

Install SP2013 Enterprise edition in Windows 8.1

I am trying to install SP2013 in my LAPTOP 8.1 and i am getting error while running the Pre request. The error is
The tool was unable to install Application Server Role web server IIS Role.
Kindly help me to resolve this.

SP2013 installation is not supported on a client version of windows OS. So you cannot directly install SP2013 on your windows 8.1.
Since hyper-v is now an integral part of windows 8.1, you should use hyper-v to create a VM environment. Then you should install windows server 2012 or windows server 2008 R2 SP1 as a minimum, as guest OS. Once the guest VM is running with windows server
OS, you can then proceed to install SP2013 inside it.

Problem about Install 10g Express Edition on my Debian 3.1 system

I've recently downloaded the oracle-xe-universal deb file from oracle.com.
I installed the deb file on my system and it seems successful.
But after I configured oracle with "/etc/ini.d/oracle-xe configure"
I can't view the webpage on my firefox browser.
It replied connection refused.
And I tried sqlplus like this:

Problem installing enterprise edition 10.2.0

I have a problem when I try to install oracle enterprise edition 10.2.0.
The installation ends and when I try to connect to the em I get no respnse from my explorer. I opened the emca log file and in the last lines it has :
SEVERE: Error starting Database Control
Refer to the log file at C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\cfgtoollogs\dbca\orcl\emConfig.log for more details.

I got the same issue with Windows XP then sometimes the same exe worked. But I tried the other way, you have one more setup file in install directory. Try to run that and see. It may be silly but it worked.
