I M GETTING PROBLEM IN INSTALLING AUDIO DEVICE ON HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO BUS
i have tried sp39671 which was sugges in that tutorial but that not work

The other sound driver is Intel HDMI driver, it is bundled in Intel GMA driver.
Update your BIOS to the latest one and do a clean instalation of XP-SP3 then you dont need devcon utility.
See XP downgrade guide for futher detail, here

  • T61 - No sound - Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus with yellow exclamation mark

    Hi,
I am not sure when it started but suddenly my T61 has no audio/sound. I checked the Device Manager and did see the Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus with yellow (big) question mark with yellow exclamation mark superimposed on it. I downloaded, from Lenovo Support site, the 7ka114ww.exe , hoping to fix it by un-install that device, reboot it,  and re-install using the download exe file, but to no avail.
Any suggestion or help is really appreciated. Many thanks in advance
PS. I also see the Base System Device pop up after a reboot and ask to be installed ?!? That pop-up had been there for a while before the audio/sound was lost.
    Solved!

    Hi Maliha,
I followed your instruction to execute the exe file under C:\Drivers. After that, I rebooted the system and no more error pop up for the missing audio device. I checked the Device Manager and the Audio Device on High Definition Audion Bus disappeared and the SoundMax was shown. But again, still no sound. I clicked on TroubleShooting on that SoundMax and followed that instruction. I found out the default Sound device was erroneously pointed to BlueTooth. I made the change to SoundMax and voila ... the sweet ding sound came back.
That was a wonderful feeling to be able to fix  this nagging problem that my company HelpDesk could not help me. All thank to this forum and particular Maliha. Again, my appreciation to the valuable help.

  • Problems with sound drivers - audio device on high definition audio bus

i turned on my computer one day and the sound was gone. no "speaker" icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen; no choices available via the "control panel: sounds and audio devices" icon. when i went to device manager, i saw "audio device on high definition audio bus" had a yellow exclamation mark. i saw some sites suggested downloading the realtek high definition audio, but that didn't seem to work -- and now i don't see the audio device on high definition audio line either.
any ideas? from what i've read, i gather this is a somewhat common problem but no solid way to fix this. i know something similar has happened to me a year ago but i was able to fix it somehow.

    Hello,
Have you tried installing the latest audio device drivers for your ThinkPad?  If so, did that solve the problem?

  • Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus Prob

I installed a Sound Blaster Audigy SE and it's drivers, but when I restarted my computer Windows told me?that it'sdetected even more hardware. (Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus) I tried using the drivers included with the Sound Blaster CD for it, but they didn't work. Regardless, my sound works and I can see "Sound Blaster Audigy" under sound, video and game controllers in Device Manager; however, I also see "" listed under other devices with a yellow question mark next to it. Does anyone know what's wrong?
Thank you for your time.Message Edited by YSM on 02-7-200804:33 PM

    Hello,
I have a feeling that this device refers to your onboard soundcard. You haven't mentioned which motherboard you have, but I suppose it's one which features a high definition audio codec, probably a Realtek one.
So, the solution to your problem should be the following:
If you have english windows, put the motherboard's CD into the dri've an go to the "sound" or similar named folder and look for a "microsoft UAA something" folder, containing a KB888.exe file. Install this hotfix and then install the audio drivers of the motherboard (you will have 2 operational soundcards afterwards).
There is a small variation to that, if your windows are non-english. Motherboard manufacturers usually include only the english version of the UAA hotfix on the CD. In that case, you must download the multilanguage package of the hotfix. Unfortunately, microsoft doesn't offer it for download, so go to www.gigabyte.com.tw and look for any motherboard with onboard HD audio. Gigabyte offers the multilingual package for download.
Alternati'vely, you can disable the onboard audio from your BIOS and use only your Audigy

  • XP 64 Bit - Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus - Driver needed!!

    This concerns a Macbook Pro
Hi, I have followed many tutorials on the internet to help install XP 64 bit on my bootcamp partition.
I know this is not advised due to the lack of driver support but I have 8GB of RAM and want to utilise it all on my favourite OS.
Things have gone well and almost all devices have the correct drivers installed.
There is one exception to this:
I installed the RealTek drivers from the high definition setup exe and Device Manager simply tells me I have codecs installed for audio and video etc. the problem is that under 'Other Device' I have 'Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus'
Due to this, my speakers do not function and no sound tray icon exists. I have tried many, many different drivers so far and have had no luck.
My macbook is a 2.26GHz model and I think is known as the 5,5 model of MBP.
If anybody could offer assistance it would be widely appreciated.
    Thanks, Chris

    I just solved the problem
The four devices are NVIDIA High Definition Audio that the driver is included in NVIDIA Display Driver installer from lenovo.
I should install Microsoft UAA High Definition Audio driver first before installing the NVIDIA Display Driver. What I did before was I installed the NVIDIA Display Driver first before installing UAA High Definition Audio driver, that's why the four NVIDIA High Definition Audio driver weren't detected, hence the drivers weren't installed.
So the solution for Windows XP SP2 users is just simply reinstall the NVIDIA Display Driver. If you install SP3, it already has the UAA Audio driver.

  • [P965 Neo-F v2] Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus

    Hi,
I've some problem installing the onboard sound card (Realtek).
A first part of the driver is installed correctly but a second part is always detected (Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus) and failed to install.
    I've processed as followed:
1 - fresh installation Windows XP
      - install INFfrom CD
      - install network from CD
      - install sound from CD
2 - fresh installation Windows XP
      - install INF (latest driver on USB Key)
      - install network  (latest driver on USB Key)
      - install sound (latest driver on USB key)
I think the unknown detected peripheral has to do with microsoft (there's a patch included with Sound Realtek drivers)
    Any help is welcome
    Thanks

Yes its the Microsoft UAA High Definition Bus driver. how are you installing yoiur sound driver are you running the realtek setup?  If so it should install the ms patch.
I'm using the realtek setup and yes, the patch is installed.
I've also tried to force the microsoft bus driver (by choosing manually the driver) without success

  • Win 10 update error: 0x8007001f install fail of IDT High Definition Audio Codec.

There is an 'x' on the little sound icon on the task bar and when I click it and run troubleshooter I get no joy. when I hover over the X it says 'No Audio Output Device is installed. In Device Manager there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark.  I've tried uninstall/reinstall of the driver but it doesn't work and it says 'hardware changes may not have been detected' 'fixed', but still no sound. I have been to HP site and tried the windows 8 and 8.1 versions but message says not compatible. Most of the solutions are for windows 10 preview and don't work either. I teach and really need this fixed asap if possible please it's my job on the line. No sound is a disaster. Oh, when I instal a webcam the sound indicator things go up and down so maybe there is sound input but no sound output? I use headphones but nothing shows up in 'Playback Devices' Thank you to anyone who can help someone with no clue.

I have a similar situation,  Nearly all the sound options work except the Scanner (police and that) kind I had plugged into the mic jack (in the back) which worked prefectly fine with Win8.1 (and previous releases)  I have tried other jacks/ports, ie Line in and the front mic jack (changing the options on the IDT control panel)   I get the same error about an audio device not being installed....   I went to the support site to look for updated (Win10) drivers, and none were found...

  • Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver for Windows 7

I have been trying to find a driver which will work with my new Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installation, but I haven't had any luck.
    My laptop specs are:
    Brand: HP Pavilion DV6208nr
    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-57 (1.9 GHz)
Graphics Card / Motherboard: NVIDIA GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M
    RAM: 2.0 GB DDR
    The audio device:
    Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_103C30CF&REV_1000
The original OS that came installed on the laptop was Vista Home Premium x64, and I later upgraded to the Ultimate x64 edition.  I managed to find drivers that work in Windows 7 for everything except for the audio device and the quick launch buttons. (the graphics display driver was the hardest to find until now).  I already tried the vista drivers as well as a driver update from microsoft updater, but they both failed.
Edit: I uninstalled and reinstalled the vista drivers and the device appears to be working now.  I'm not sure what went wrong the first time.  Maybe it was the update from Microsoft that crashed it.  There wasn't any problems in device manager with the audio until after the update.
However, if there are some drivers specifically designed to work with Windows 7 I'd still like to have them.  I guess I'll make a post for the quick launch buttons in the proper forum.
    Thanks.
