Problem in installing Reader

I have a problem in installing Reader X.
Windows 7,  64 bit, and trying to download using IE8  (32 bit.)   I have checked that the Security options for Trusted and Internet zones are set to default   -  I assume that this would then not stop any ActiveX errors or suppress any ActiveX messages.
Have Norton Internet security. but to avoid any issues have turned off firewall and virus scan for the download period.
I go to the adobe download, and select reader X.   Then press Download - I get a warning screen that, depending upon my security settings, I may see some of the following steps.  (With a number of different scarios listed.)
But the process just stops here - I do not get any Information Bar messages coming up in IE8 that I can respond to.   Just stays at the prescreen, and cannot get any file to download.
I cannot find any way of donwloading and saving any installation file to the PC, which I can then run offliine.
Any help please???

Thanks - am downloading the file now!

  • I can't install Reader XI

Hi, I am having problems to install Reader XI, when I donwload the file, and executed it, it starts the proccess of installing it, when it seems that is finishing, suddenly shows an error in installation and shows me this message:
I tried everything I could find as guide here on adobe.com but nothing is working...
    What can I do?
    Thanks,
    Konrad

If you hsve tried everything I may be wasting my time, but you can try using this tool to remove all traces of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you may download the offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Problem in installing Adobe Reader X

I wanted to install Adobe Reader X on my notebook(with no internet connection).I copied the Adobe folder from my PC to the notebook and tried to install Adobe Reader X by clicking the related exe file, but it didnt help.
The exe file, which was AcroRd32.exe,when clicked says that "Adobe Reader cannot open in Protected Mode due to a problem with your system configuration.Would you like to open Adobe Reader with Protected Mode disabled?".
When I tried to open it with Protected Mode disabled,it gave a fatal error saying that "Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL".
No such error occured with earlier versions of Adobe Reader. There, the exe file automatically started the installation process.
Is it not possible to upgrade my Reader to X from 9.1?
(I saw a similr thread elsewhere but there the error was different and the solution talked of some whitelisting, which I am not aware of)

You cannot use Reader X until it has been installed. Installing means that the appropriate configuration has been entered into the Windows Registry. Copying a folder from another computer doesn't achieve that goal.
Here's what I suggest you do now.
Run this Microsoft fix first of all: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Uninstall via Reader via Add/Remove Programs
Download and install Reader X from here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/
P.S. There are some programs which are so called 'Standalone' apps. That means that the executable will run without using a system's processes. But Adobe Reader isn't one of them.

  • Problem with installing Adobe Reader.

I have just recently tried to install Adobe Reader onto my new laptop and it has Windows 8 operating systems. I encounter my problem when the installation tries to retrieve information from my laptop and an error saying, "Installation encountered errors, Actionlist not found." I've never really had any problems like this on the download and installation of a program, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I'm using Google Chrome as my browser, if that is of any weight or importance to this issue. Thank you.

Never mind, I found the solution in a troubleshooting page on Adobe.com It was very helpful and specific on how to solve the problem. If anyone else is having this problem here is the link (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-installing-reader-proxy-server.html). Have a fantastic day.

  • Problems installing Reader 10.1.3 via GPO from AIP

I have been using GPO to install Reader for a while.  Up til now I have not had any problems that I have not been able to resolve thanks to all of the posts I have seen here.
I have had Reader 10.1.1 install on all of the computers on the network using GPO.  I just went through the process of creating an AIP (upgraded from 10.1.0 with the MSP file) for 10.1.3 and setup a new package in my GPO for the 10.1.3 install (after using the Customization Wizard to modify it).  Everything appeared to be working properly.  I removed the 10.1.1 package and the 10.1.3 package seems to be getting pushed to the computers on the network.  Unfortunately many of the users have started reporting that they are unable to open PDF files.  Upon investigation the Add/Remove Programs show that the Reader 10.1.3 package has been installed on the computers, but when an Administrative user logs onto the computer and runs the Adobe Reader it appears to complete installation (installing settings or something else).  When the administrative user logs off and the normal user logs onto the same computer it then is fully functional.
    Have I missed something?
Most computers on the network are Windows XP (fully patched).  We are slowly replacing them with Windows 7.  Users do not have admin rights.
    Anybody else see similar problems?

    lrcjc,
Have you developed a solution for this issue yet?  I am pushing the installation with a Computer Policy > Startup Script and am having a similar issue.  When I log in as a user I can not use the program.  When I log in as an administrator it will work.  Then, when I log back in as a regular user I can see Reader 10.1.3.  I am in an enterprise environment with XP and 7 machines.  Here is my installation script:
    @echo off
    set server=leejsp-fs2
    set update=10.1.3
    if exist "\\leejsp-fs2\syncnet\Reader_Test\logs\%computername%.txt" goto patch
    echo Adobe Reader install started on %date% %time% from %server% >> "\\leejsp-fs2\syncnet\Reader_Test\logs\%computername%.txt"
    echo Installing Adobe Reader...
    msiexec /i "\\%server%\syncnet\Reader_Test\acroread.msi" /qb
echo Adobe Reader install finished on %date% %time%  >> "\\leejsp-fs2\syncnet\Reader_Test\logs\%computername%.txt"
    :patch
    if exist "\\leejsp-fs2\syncnet\Reader_Test\logs\%computername%_%update%.txt" goto end
    echo Adobe Reader %update% Update install started on %date% %time% from %server% >> "\\leejsp-fs2\syncnet\Reader_Test\logs\%computername%_%update%.txt"
    msiexec /p "\\%server%\install\syncnet\Reader_Test\AdbeRdrUpd1013_MUI.msp" /qb
    echo Adobe Reader %update% Update install started on %date% %time% from %server% >> "\\leejsp-fs2\syncnet\Reader_Test\logs\%computername%_%update%.txt"
    :end
This script worked perfectly with Reader 9 and update 9.3.2.  Could my parameters be outdated?  Am I missing a parameter that is stopping a non-administrator from finishing the installation?  Anything helps!

  • Problem installing reader

I'm using Win7, Kaspersky 2010av, and I made 3 attempts to download the latest reader (from Adobe site choosing win7 platform), all which resulted in providing Adobe Air listed on control panel programs.  The last attempt resulted in several other program files being corrupted and had to restore the computer from an image backup.  I am not going to risk an attempt at a 4th try, and though I am curious as to why Adobe reader and win7 are apparently not compatible, my main curiosity is why Adobe Air keeps being loaded instead of Reader and why it crashed my computer.
    thanks for any comments!

Thank you very much for your reply. This is a different download
source than what Adobe shows at their site:
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/thankyou/activex/?installer=Reader_9.3.3_English_for_Windows&p =Google_Toolbar_6.5&a=ARH&a=Air_Installer&d=McAfee_Security_Scan_Plus
(I didn't opt for the McAfee offer, and their was no choice on the "Air"
    download.)
I think the problem is Kaspersky 2010 and Adobe 9.3.3 on a win7 OS. For
some reason, Kaspersky / Win7 doesn't seem to like Adobe. Googling this
problem seems to indicate that I'm not the only one failing to install
    reader on win7.
Anyway, thanks again for taking time to reply.

  • Problem installing reader 9

    Hi,
Trying to install reader 9 on my laptop, I get a warning msg. that IE 7 stopped working and must be closed.
    OS: Vista home premium
    Norton Internet Security 2008 installed
I tried disabling NIS, didn't help.
    Any ideas?
    Tnx, Eli

I'm having the same problem, "Internet Explorer has stopped working and must shut down", I tried disabling all security settings to no avail. It downloaded version 7.0 for XP but said it had compatibility issues with Vista and didn't run, but did download. Version 9 won't download.

  • .tif files wouldn't open with Reader XI. It said  they weren't supported or were damaged. I uninstalled readerXI and installed Reader DC and it still doesn't work. When I send them to another computer, they open without any problems. What can I do next?

Reader XI would not open several files. It said .tif was not a supported file type or it was damaged. I uninstalled Reader XI and installed Reader DC with the same results. When sent to another computer, they open with no problems. What do I do next?

The other computer must have something that opens .tif files. Adobe Reader has always only opened .pdf files.
If you are double clicking on a .pdf and Reader is trying to open the file, you need to set your systems file associations for the proper program to open that file type.

  • Install problem 0x80070003 Adobe Reader XI

After I had to set back my windoiws 8.1 settings, I tried to re-install Reader XI (windows 8.1.) but without success. At the end of the installationproces I got the message: "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D} Hresult: 0x80070003". Looked on internet forums what I could do, but nothing worked. Anyone who can help me with this? Thanks in advance.

Restart Windows, then download and run the MSI installer http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi (English version).
If the installation succeeds, update to 11.0.09.

  • Problem with installing and uninstalling applicati...

    hi all,
I have a problem with installing or uninstalling apps on 808. When i try to install an application through Nokia suite or when trying to run the application file from the phone's memory the screen freezes and becomes unresponsive but the 3 phone buttons work just fine. I have to shut down the phone and the screen becomes responsive again. Anything available to help me wiith this situations as I cannot use any of the apps I have. Any help much appreciated.
    Regards
    Alex

You are not alone. Im also having the same issue because we do alot of install and uninstall apps. This is the bad point of symbian. But I tired to install the latest FP2 it will be slightly abit smoother now. So you have the latest version now but did you tired to restore any backup yet? It might be the setting on when you restore that affect it. The feezing should be shorten on FP2 but it will still remain there depending on the type of apps from what I experience.
I hope they will provide multiple function to uninstall apps since it will go through a long process to uninstall apps 1 by 1.
Reason is because some apps will go through process like preparing install, process install, finalising install which take away your control for that few seconds or a minute instead runnning in background mode. Its not convenient to uninstall more apps.

  • Problem with installing iTunes

So these are my problems with installing iTunes.
    At first it was :
A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes (-45019)
Then it got worse as it would not even open and these would appear:
The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
    and this would appear:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.
    Error 7 (Windows error 126)
I reinstalled maybe about 5 times or more...
If I thought I solved the above problem, this would appear:
iTunesHelper.exe is not installed on my computer.
I seen other people comment that you should unistall and restart the computer and install the setup again, but it does not work..
And others would say to repair the AAS or iTunes etc..
And after trying all these it does not work???
    What else works?

I also tried repairing the Microsoft NET.

  • Problem with Installing Nokia Ovi Store in E51

I am having problem with installing nokia Ovi store in my E51. Whenever I try to download Ovi store from my E51, it shows a error message that the component is built in and cannot be installed. I dont know wat to do now. Can anyone please give me some advice. Thanks in advance.

    Hi there!
This means that the Ovi Store is currently installed in your E52 phone, what I can suggest is try checking under Application Manager > Installed Application, check if the Ovi Store is there. If you can't see it, try to perform the soft reset (press *#7780# on the main screen of the phone and it will prompt you restore all original phone settings? phone will restart. Press YES and it will ask you for the lock code 12345.) If anything else please reply to this message.
    Hope tis' Help!

  • Getting error message when trying to install Reader 9 on Win 7 64 bit w/IE 9

I hope I can be concise and not have this all sound too convoluted but I am so confused by this time that I may not be able to hide it.   I have recently bought an HP Omni 220 PC, 64 bit, with Win 7, Intel Core i7, and IE9.  Reader didn't come installed and I have been battling for weeks now trying to get it set up.
I couldn't get Reader 10 to install so I installed Reader 9 thinking to update to 10.  While I can open and read PDF files beautifully on my desktop, Reader 9 allowed me to open .PDF files online only about 2 times and then stopped.  When I tried to open a PDF link my IE 9 would crash and recover and tell me some problem had caused IE to have to close and recover.  I tried 'repairing' the installation through the "Repair" option on the drop down menu which you get when you right click on the .msi installer.  When the repair is running I get an error which reads:
"Warning 1909.Could not create shortcut Adobe Reader 9.lnk.  Verify that the destination folder exists and that you can access it."
I have no idea what destination folder this refers to or how to fix it.
I uninstalled Reader 9, attempted again to install Reader 10.  I think I've figured out that the 10 installer (which disappears and nothing happens when I try to run it) is actually a program different from the actual installation program but I fear I'd just run into this same destination folder boo-boo with the 10 installation as I have the 9 installation.  At least the 9 will run without disappearing.
In short, finally, how can I fix this Warning 1909 to get Reader 9 installed so that I can actually read PDF files in IE9 and hope to update to 10?
    Thank you,
    SouthCountryMom

Ok, I have now gotten Reader 10 installed, can open files from my desktop but IE 9 keeps crashing when I try to open PDF files even though I exited and relaunched IE 9.  I did take ownership of all the folders containing Reader 10 and then clicked OK when I got the error notice about the shortcut being installed. I did make a copy of the crash error report and it reads as follows:
