Problem in integrating FlexUIStroke sample in CS4 SDK with Indesign CS6

Hi all,
I want to add a flex panel to the adobe indesigner using a indesigner plugin. For that I used the FlexUIStroke sample project in the CS4 product SDK. But I have adobe indesigner CS6. I successfully built the FlexUIStroke project and created a plugin file and added to the indesign plugin folder. But when I try to start the indesign it display error message that the plugin is not a valid plugin. I need to know what can be the cause of the message. If that approch doesn't work what are the alternative approaches that I can take to integrate a flex panel to the indesigner using a indesigner plugin?

Thanks for all your suggestions. Unfortunately the form still returns the 'no matches found for [email protected]' I've changed the URL field on the submit button to mailto: xxxxx@xxxx and I've also tried it with no space after the mailto:, unfortunately both these return the above error message. This is the same whatever email address I try. I'm starting to tear my hair out with this one. I've tried it on my home PC arunning Norton Internet Security and on my works PC running Avast. Same problem on both.

My Fonts change when opening an InDesign CS4 file with InDesign CS6

I've been experiencing strange behaviour when opening a InDesign CS4 file file with InDesign CS6: the kerning and spacing is all off:

Is this a conversion error? Is there a setting/pref I've got wrong?

It's more than a year ago since this issue was reported, but at this time I'd had the same problem when opening a CS4 document in CS6/CC.
I was amazed that a header, placed in capitals, looked different in CS6/CC. But at last, after several tests, i've came to the conclusion that "forced" capitals behaving different than "real" capitals. In others words: when you forcing text to capitals the kerning would be different in CS6/CC. When you place text in real capitals (Shift + text) the kerning is the same as in both InDesign versions.

As you can see: in CS4 there's no difference between real capitals en forced capitals.

Activating CS4 products with a CS6 Serial

I have a CS6 serial key but only have a 32 Bit PC. The trial of photoshop worked as CS4 and I presume that I can only use CS4 products as these only require 32 Bit. I am aware that some CS6 products require 64 bit and I was wondering if I could use my Serial to activate CS4 products. If so, then I can use the serial fully.

No. Serial numbers are version specific. There is no way to activate CS4 products with CS6 serials, but I don't see the problem, at least where PS is concerned - Photoshop CS6 has a 32bit version. Similalrly, Dreamweaver, Illustrator and InDesign are 32bit/ have a 32bit version in CS6. Only the video products liek Premiere or After Effects require 64bit. There's no way around that.

Problems with InDesign CS6

Today I have installed new version of CreativeSuite-Master collection. All programs are working, I have problems just with InDesign. When I tried to open it, there is a window, where it tells me, that the program isn't working any more. The details about problems are:

Problem with InDesign CS6 start (without internet)

I have a problem with the start of InDesign CS6 linked to the presence or absence of internet.
I need to set an IP without internet on the Mac where I installed InDesign, but when I do it right after the splash screen the program freezes for a few minutes, after which starts.
With internet this problem does not occur.
I have already activated the CS6 both online and offline, but the problem continues.
I need to open something on firewall?

You need to tell us more about what you are doing. Once activated, ID should not require internet access to run unless it needs to verify the subscription status.

InCopy CS4 ok with InDesign CS5.5?

I work at a small newspaper using all Macs and CS4. The writers use InCopy as their word processor, and the designer links their IC files in her ID document. Sometimes an IC linked file will require further editing in IC, but they never use IC to open an ID document.
We want to upgrade the designer and copy editors (who all use InDesign) to CS5.5. I'm wondering if we can squeeze another year out of the writers' PPC Macs, which will not run IC CS5.5, by having them stay on IC CS4. Having to upgrade 15 Macs will be pricy.
I've seen several questions here about using InCopy CS5.5 with older versions of InDesign, but not the other way around. Can InCopy CS4 be used with InDesign CS5.5 in the workflow I have described?
Related question: if InCopy CS5.5 opens an InCopy CS4 doocument, does that change the document so that it can't be opened in InCopy CS4 again? (in case we upgrade the writers incrementally).

The compiling command is

Extraction Pack Problem in Integration of DataStage 7.5.1 with BI 7.0

Hi,
I am facing problem in loading data using DataStage Extraction Pack. I am using DataStage version 7.5.1A and BW pack 4.2.1. The Load Pack is working fine.
In Extraction Pack properties, The InfoSpoke "xxxxxxxx" is appearing in the search, while trying to select the InfoSpoke the system is showing 'The InfoSpoke "xxxxxxxx" was not found'.
Can you please help me in over coming the issue. Any input is much appreciated.

But the problem is that when I close the terminal all connection are lost and given error "The requested URL could not be retrieved" That's not very surprising, as APEX Listener is running in Standalone Mode in your current scenario. If you close the terminal session that the JVM is running in you kill the JVM and hence APEX Listener.
You could use a tool like "nohup" to detach the process you start from your terminal session. But using the Standalone Mode for a (long running) production scenario is not recommended anyway, and...
I want to configure listener with EBS .When I start instance automatic start apex listener... obviously not your actual aim.
So, EBS shall be your target. Shoudn't be a huge problem, as EBS comes with an OC4J Container and OC4J is one of the Containers officially supported by APEX Listener. I'm not sure if your EBS already ships with the JDK version needed, but as soon as it runs at least 1.6.0_20 it should work.
As I've already replied to your question in {thread:id=1118604} there is a working approach described in {message:id=10069317}.
Did you try that one? If so and it didn't work out, could you please describe the problems you've encountered?

Printing problem with InDesign CS6 Trial version

I have the trial CS6 InDesign. Began printing my doc but when I got to page 81 I got an error: "Printing Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem". Have NO issues in preflight check.It printed fine but suddenly stalled and have tried many things in cluding skipping pg 81 to no avail. Help, please! thanks, Paula

Thank you so very much for your help. I have solved the problems. I did discover there were more errors. Using your method, I did find the offending page but then other pages emmerged. After the first fix, the other errors showed up in the lower left of the page so I could open the window for easy access to the pages. All the fault of a rank novice using the program but I have to wonder the following:
If the Pre-Flight check shows no errors, why are there still errors? Shouldn't the Pre-Flight find and report them all?
Well, on to the next waiting project and hopefully now that I know so much more I won't make so many mistakes! You and Bob were GREAT! Without you two and the Forum I would still be mired in my own unknown mistakes. Thank you so very much! If I ever see you at the InDesign User Group in Seattle will be sure to say hello.

Problem with InDesign CS6

I downloaded CS6 InDesign, but when I open it and attempt to use it, the program won't let me choose the Select arrow by clicking. Instead I have to use V or Escape. Also I can't switch beween the Paragraph Formatting Control and the Character Formatting Control. I can't access or change fonts through the Character option. The only way I can see a list of Fonts is by clicking on Type and then Font. I have a Windows 7, 64-bit HPTouchsmart computer. What is wrong with this program? At this point the program is useless to me.

Problem enabling Extentions for InDesign CS6

I've been going through some of the answers to similar posts, but have not found an answer to my particular problem.
I am running OSX 10.9.5; InDesign CS6 version 8.0.2 and Adobe Extension Manager Version 6.0.8.28.
I have been having problems with InDesign going unresponsive also.
I went to check to see if a particular third party extension was installed and when I opened EM I found a whole bunch of yellow triangle warnings i front of a lot of the extensions. I have tried to enable some of them and have gotten some to come back on, but there are still a good many that just refuse to enable. These are: Assignment UI, Book Panel, Book (this has a greyed out check mark in the enabled column), DynamicDocuments UI (this is also has a greyed out checkmark), Font Usage Dialog (greyed out checkmark), Graphic Panels (greyed out checkmark), Indexing (greyed out checkmark), InXCore (greyed out checkmark) ... and many more. The ones that I have not listed here seem to be the ones the these are dependent on, however they are checked as being enabled.
I have tried enabling as many As I can and then re-booting InDesign and during the boot I get a notice that says "Cannot open resource file." I have no idea what that means but I click OK and it finishes loading. But the Book is not available to create and there is no book palette.
I cannot find a "Library" file as referenced in one of the solutions, so I'm pretty well stuck right now. I just do not know what to do to fix this.
Please can someone give me a hand with this?

I am new to Indesign plugin development.
I have downloaded Indesign CS4 SDK Products version for Windows.
I have downloaded Adobe Indesign CS4 trial version.
I have Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 . I want to build sample SDK examples given
in SDK. But when I open them from visual c++ /prj folder the project is not
getting opened.
I want to load Dollyxs and build it and using that develop some projects.
Also want to build and run the SDK examples .
So can anybody help about what software I need n which version of visul c++
is needed for this.And how to Install
them.

Can a CS3 plugin be built with Xcode 3.1 and the CS4 SDK?

My goal is to build a plugin that loads in CS3 and CS4 on both the Mac and Windows platforms. For the Mac development I have a machine with Xcode 3.1. When I try to build the automationfilter/hidden plugin sample I get a compiler error in PIDefines.h because some typedefs conflict with Apple headers. The CS4 SDK seems to have corrected these issues so I am now trying to build the samples from CS4SDK. The build is successful, but when I try to load the plugin into CS3 I get an error that causes Photoshop to abort (after a friendly dialog box telling me it is going to abort).
I am wondering if the mix of tools and SDK versions that I am using would be expected to work, or if what I have done is known to fail.

I found a solution to the question. The CS4 sample I was building (Automation/Hidden) was causing PS CS3 to fail when I tried to launch the plug-in. It turns out that the failure is due to one of the suites having a different version in CS3 than CS4. The sample was from CS4, so it was requesting a version of the suite that did not exist in PS CS3.
To fix the problem I made a copy of the samplecode/common/sources/PIUSuites.cpp file. I placed my copy in the samplecode/automation/automation/common directory and modified my Xcode project to use it instead of the one from common/sources. In the file I changed this line:
AutoSuite<PSActionDescriptorProcs> sPSActionDescriptor(kPSActionDescriptorSuite, kPSActionDescriptorSuiteVersion);
to be like this instead:
AutoSuite<PSActionDescriptorProcs> sPSActionDescriptor(kPSActionDescriptorSuite, kPSActionDescriptorSuitePrevVersion);
Doing this causes the plug-in to load and execute just fine in CS3.
