Problem in iSqlPlus

I am New In Oracle 10g Try to Connect in isqlplus ....
When I Start iSQL plus by Using isqlplusctl start it Started.
But Cannot Connect With isqlplus...
C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1\BIN>isqlplusctl start

5560 is my Port Address I know it from Portlist.ini file
pls Some one tell me what is the problem.

Check the port that you where isqlplus is running.
And make sure you are using the same port in ur URL.

Problem with isqlplus (10.2) on Windows XP

I have just installed Oracle 10.2 on XP and I have checked isqlplsu to be installed. This machine. When I try to connect to isqlplus I have the error message :
The connection was refused when attempting to contact "machine_name":5560
When I try to do "isqlplusctl start", I have the following error :
Failed to start the service Error 203; the system has not found the specified environment option.
The italic portion above is translated from french.
Same thing when I try to stop it (just replace start by stop). In the two cases it says that isqlplus started (stopped) in spite of the error message.
When I check Windows services I find that isqlplus service is running but without any possibility to change its status (all options are not available). The start/stop buttons from Windows are not active.
Any ideas?

It works now!
The only thing is that I reinstalled jdk.
In fact, I had jdk on my machine and I removed it a time ago before installing Oracle. I reinstalled it without any modification to environment variables and isqlplus works.
But I am surprised because AFAIK, Oracle installs its own jdk. so what could it be?

Isqlplus environment

hello,
i am facing problem with isqlplus environment. i.e., whenever we use plus(+) operator in the enviornment it is discarding the operator thereby producing an error. also if we use substitution variables with %TYPE atttribute it is replacing the %TYPE with some junk characters. what could the problem for this. is it a bug with isqlplus environment or do we have to change the settings. please let me know about the error.

It looks like a local firewall policy. Check with your network administrator.

Cannot start isqlplus

I just installed Oracle 10g (Enterprise) on a Windows XP Professional system. Everything seems to be working OK, including SQLPlus (which I can access with System/manager) and EM (Enterprise Manager) (which I can access with Sys/Manager).
However, I have problem accessing iSQLPlus. When I key in "http://my_computer:5560/isqlplus" (where my_computer is the name of the computer the 10g is installed) in my Browser (IE version 6.0), I got a page with the message "The Page cannot be displayed", and a message at the bottom saying "Cannot find server or DNS error".
By the way, the Services (Local) window in the Control Panel shows that the service "OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus" has been automatically started.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Thanks in advance.

I answered this in another thread of yours.
Try rebooting your computer and see if that fixes the problem. If not, I'd suggest uninstalling the iSQL*Plus Windows service, then reinstalling it.
%ORACLE_HOME%\bin\isqlplussvc -uninstall
Reboot
%ORACLE_HOME%\bin\isqlplusctl start

How to re-install isqlplus?

I have a problem with iSQLPlus recently. I have oracle 10g installed and running fine, but the iSQLPlus has some problem when starting. It says: "Failed to start the service Error:203 The system could not find the envirment option that was entered". Since I could not solve the problem, therefore I uninstall the iSQLPlus. How can I re-install the iSQLPlus on my original oracle 10g?

You will have to install it from the Oracle Installer, as you first installed it. I think the Custom install has this option.

Isqlplus login problem

I have just intalled Oracle 10g. I set all the password as same. But I am not able to login into isql*Plus. I tried different ways via EM, Command line and Windows mode. But no one take the password. Is there a default login username password for iSQLplus?

Tell the error code of ur problem. it will be easier to understand.
One more thing, don't mention the host string any value then try once again. This is because explicitly u r mentioning the location where one instance is available. If more instances in same pc then u use the host string.

ISQLplus install problem

I am trying to install iSQLPlus on a Windows 2000 server. I have 8.1.7 enterprise edition installed currently with just the sample database. The oracle http server seems to run fine and loads the iplus signon form. When I try to enter the login info it either gives me a "server contacted, waiting for response" and stops functioning or it gives me a 404 not found.
I followed the install instructions carefully and rechecked them. There was one point of concern. The doc says to copy plus.dll to the oracle home bin dir. I did not see this file anywhere in the zip but there was a plusdll.dll file. I assumed the doc was a misprint so I moved this file. After the problems were apparent I created a copy of the plusdll.dll file as plus.dll. Still nothing.
Any ideas?

You're right about the dll name. There was an error in the documentation. It should be plusdll.dll as delivered in the zip file. You can delete the copy you made called plus.dll.
Try these and let me know how you go:
1. Make sure you've entered the full URL in the browser, eg, http://mymachine.mycompany.com/iplus/index.html. Don't use /iplus/index.html.
2. If you use a proxy server or firewall, make sure your browser is set to avoid using it (proxy exception) when accessing iSQL*Plus. See chapter 2 of the iSQL*Plus doc for details on doing this.

problem in starting isqlplus.
when i run this command ./apachectl start
it gives me this error
Syntax error on line 159 of /u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0.1/Apache/Jserv/etc/jserv.conf:

./apachectl start: httpd could not be started

Problem in jazn shell to setting up isqlplus for dba access

my problem is whenever i'm going to setting up isqlplus to login to isqlplus dba and configure jazn shell ,access to it and start to add sys as webdba using the following command
the prompt command show me this error message
JAZN:> listusers "iSQLP*PLUS DBA"
The specified realm does not exist in the system.
trying to add but the same message
JAZN:> adduser "iSQL*plus DBA" sys sys
The specified realm does not exist in the system.
i'm sure that i'm prepareing of oracle_sid and oracle_home and java_home
i don' know what to do

Refer the note
"You perform these actions from the $ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/isqlplus/application-deployments/isqlplus directory."
in the SQL*Plus® User's Guide and Reference.
Otherwise it will not find the iSQL*Plus DBA realm.
You can connect using
-user admin -password welcome
but this will load the jazn.com realm which does not contain the webDba role.
Nb. JAZN is case sensitive.

SQLPlus and ISQLPlus Problem

I am new to Oracle in Windows platform.I want to connect sqlplus in windows gui form not from command prompt.For that from start manu I go to sqlplus option and I put user and password but i am not able to put host string as i am not clear about host string.Please let me know what will be the host string for connection.In ISQLPLUS is also not started from web.How I check this.

To open ISQPLPLUS

where port is the port where the http server is running
If you want to know the port go to /oracle/SID/102_64/oc4j/j2ee/isqlplus/config and open the file http-web-site.xml

IF iSQLplus isnt started start it using the following command.
orasid > isqlplusctl start

ISQLplus U/I language problem

I inadvertantly installed Oracle9i on Win2K machine with Regional Settings in Control Panel to Slovakian language and I got iSQLplus app in web browser U/I on Slovakian language. Later I changed Reg. Settings to English but iSQLplus U/I is still on Slovakian. How to change iSQLplus U/I language and not to install Oracle from the beginning? Maybe to set some option in iSQLplus web app. in Apache configuration.

Isqlplus configuration problem

Please help. I have been trying to configure isqlplus and have been able to. I am able to access the apache server but when I try to access isqlplus I get a 500 internal server error. The error log shows the following message:
FastCGI: comm with server "c:/oracle/ora92/bin/isqlplus" aborted: protocol error: invalid version: 60 != FCGI_VERSION(1)

Lorraine,
Do you have another version of FastCGI installed? It looks like there's a conflict of FastCGI versions. iSQL*Plus should be configured correctly during the installation and there isn't anything you need to do to connect to it (apart from setting up DBA access to the isqlplusdba URL).

I would suggest using the JRE that ships with the Oracle Database installation. So, try setting JAVA_HOME to %ORACLE_HOME%\jdk.
You can use any username/password combination you like for setting up the iSQL*Plus DBA URL. This is not related in any way to the Oracle Database logins.
