Problem in istalling Oracle DB 11g r2 in windows 7 home premium 64 bit

Hi All,
i am trying to install Oracle DB 11g r2 in windows 7 home premium 64 bit.
when i come to the step Select "Typical Install as the installation type from the following options, and then click Next:"
i am not able to the window itself , when i checked in the task manager , the setup.exe is not running in the process list ...
why its happening .. did i made any mistake.

This forum is specifically for XE (the 10g/11g Express Editions). From your post it seems your product of choice is a non XE edition.
See Database - Installation forum instead, {forum:id=64}.
Note that no Home or Starter editions of Windows are on the requirements list of the installation guide. Make sure all pre-reqs are followed, thoroughly.

From where I can download Oracle Client 11g R2 for Windows 7 64bit? Thanks in advance.

    Search engine broken?
Just search for Oracle 11g download and you get this link on the very first page
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html
Then select 'See All' from the Microsoft Windows (x64) in the Oracle Database 11g Release 2 section
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/112010-win64soft-094461.html
Can we assume you know how to search that web page for the word 'Client'?

  • Install oracle db 11g r2 on Windows 7 Error

    Hi,
i install oracle db 11g r2 on windows 7 ultmate and founded error :
    file not found orandce11.dll.dbl
    and
    file not found orancds11r.dll.dbl
    how to solution ?
    thanks,
    Khun

Coincidentally, I installed the 11.2 client myself this morning and got the same result. In my case, I'm loading to Windows XP Pro. I have no solution, but I can add a bit of detail in case it helps.
I'm installing from a file I downloaded last week. There is only one zip file, so your suggestion doesn't apply Werner. I did a search through the entire directory structure, and these files don't appear at all. Of the two files orandce11 and orancds11r, there is nothing closely resembling the former, but there is the similar file orancds11.dll (same right up to the trailing 'r').
In both cases, I selected to continue with the install. It finished sucessfully and works, but I don't know what these files are for. I did a Google search, and the one and only hit was Khun's post.
Here are the log entries, I included a few of the preceding lines in case the context helps.

For windows, first step ensure the services got created.
Start/Run/services.msc and click on the Standard tab (for slightly less clutter).
There should be 4 or 5 oracle entries, only two matter. The database instance service, ...ServiceXE and the listener ...TNSListener the others are not relevant for an XE install.
If the user that ran the installer program is not in the local administrators group, as stated in the install requirements documentation, more than likely the services did not get set up and the database won't exist.
If the services are there, try connecting and check the instance status. In a command box (Start/Run/cmd):
    sqlplus /nolog
    connect system
Password: <the system password entered in installer dialog ... >
    ... Connected.
    select status from v$instance;
    ... OPEN ...
If you get that far, might be something not quite right with the networking configuration, several things can prevent the Apex web pages (http://...:8080...) from working.
As far as your configuration files, the client (tnsnames.ora) has a different value for the host than your listener.ora. So one, or both, of those could be incorrect. Check the command box hostname output, ipconfig /all, a few things might need adjustment.
The tnsnames.ora only matters for making sqlnet connections via a tnsalias. The tnsalias could be anywhere, including on your local hostname. To use a tnsalias, add it to the a connect after the '@' symbol, i.e. connect system@xe to get a connection to your XE specified in the tnsnames.ora file.
If you want to change the listener configuration, the first thing to do is stop the listener, then make adjustments in the listener.ora, start the listener, and sqlplus ... connect system .... alter system register; to get the instance registered with the listener.

  • Problem in installing oracle database 11g express edition

while installing oracle database 11g express edition during product specific prerequisite check, checking for oracle XE service instance is failed, what to do ?

Hello, and welcome to the OTN forums,
the prerequisites are documented quite well. I'm not sure about the actual error message, but from what you write it sounds like you already have another Oracle XE install on your machine, possible the Oracle 10g XE. As mentioned in the Installation Guide, you may have only one instance per server, so the installer fails.
If that's not the reason, can you please post the exact error message you receive?

  • Oracle Client 11g R2 in Windows 7 connecting a RAC server

I have the following setup in my laptop
    Windows 7
    Oracle Client 11g R2
I'm trying to connect "SQL plus" to a load balanced server (RAC) configured as below
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    CORE 10.2.0.4.0 Production
TNS for HPUX: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
The problem is, the connection creation is not consistent. It is throwing the following error randomly.
ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
I'm able connect to another server (not RAC) without any issues. Even TOAD is giving the same error. After few tries, it works.
Anyone facing the same problem, got any solution???
    Thanks

    Hi all.
I've done all the checklists suggested but I'm still getting the error. The problem is not with the network and the servers cos I'm working in a Company and when I had Windows XP SP 3 and Oracle Client 10gR2 all was working fine. I'm with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit now. I'm almost sure the problem is with Windows 7 x Oracle Client but it's hard to figure out what's going on. Does anyone have idea what could it be ??I would generate a client side sqlnet trace, then go on a fishing expedition. There's a lot of dense stuff in a full trace, but if you don't panic and just try to make sense of what you can, you'll probably flush it out.
To enable the trace, go to your sqlnet.ora file and add these lines:
    TRACE_FILE_CLIENT=clientsqlnet.trc
    TRACE_DIRECTORY_CLIENT=C:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\trace
    #TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT=off
    #TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT=user
    #TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT=admin
    TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT=support

  • How to remove Oracle 11g client from Windows 7 64-bit workstation.

When the Oracle 11g client was installed on a Windows 7 64-bit workstation, it was mistakenly installed as "Administrator".
We do not wish to do this; instead we want to install this client as a user with Administrator privileges.
PLEASE NOTE THE DIFFERENCE BEFORE REPLYING TO THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!
When I try to install the client, I get a message sending me to this directory:
    F:\app\Administrator
I do not know why this message is produced; the directory it refers to DOES NOT EXIST.
My suspicion is that there extraneous entries in the registry which have not been removed; the obvious ones such as HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE have been deleted.
What I believe I need is a COMPLETE list of entries placed in the registry upon installation of the Oracle client.
The obvious problem is that the Uninstall feature of Oracle client does NOT FULLY remove all of the above entries.
As a side note, the Oracle client software installation needs to be revamped to detect situations such as this and provide a course of corrective actions.

I've not done it yet with 11g, but prior editions, there are 3 things that have to be done to eradicate an oracle client installation from Windows, after running uninstaller
    1) delete the registry key HKLM\software\oracle
    2) delete the ORACLE_HOME directory from the file system
    3) delete c:\Program Files\oracle

  • How to install Oracle Developer Suite 10g on Windows 7 (64-bit)

    Hi,
I have windows 7 (64-bit) installed on my laptop. I want to install Oracle developer suite 10g R2 on this machine but when I run the Oracle Universal Installer, it gives me error stating "operating system version: must be 5.0, 5.1, 5.2. Actual 6.1 Failed<<<<
    Exiting OUI.
Can anyone please help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

Be aware that Developer Suite 10gR2 is not supported for use on Windows 7. Installing it on this platform may result in undesirable behavior.

  • Running oracle form builder 10g in windows 7 64 bit

i am working in windows 7 64 bit
oracle db 11g enterprise edition 11.2.0.10 64 bit
    form builder 10.12.0.2  32 bit
my default browser is Google Chrome
    i have java 6 standard edition  1.6.0_34
when i am trying to run any form this message appear " java (TM) is required to display some elements in this page"
what can i do to run those forms?

You can also refer to this OTN reference:
Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2) Certification Matrix
    Other comments:
    1.  I would not recommend using Forms 10.1.2.0 with Oracle DB 11.2.x.  Patching Oracle Forms to 10.1.2.3 would be recommended.  Using version Forms 11 would be better.
    2.  Attempting to use the Developer Tools on Windows 7 is not a great idea although it can be made to work.  Developer Suite 10 is no longer supported and was never really intended for use on Win7.  Again, patching to 10.1.2.3 is recommended and required if you plan to follow the Oracle instructions and certifications.
    3.  Installing the Forms Builder (Developer Suite) on Win7-64bit is not at all certified and was never supported.
    4.  Using Java 7 was not certified and therefore not supported for use with Forms 10.x
In general, Forms 10.1.2.x has been desupported.  Customer using this version or older should be working on a migration plan for getting to the latest supported version which is 11.1.2.1.

  • Issue with Oracle service bus installation on Windows 7 64 bit machine

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle service bus 11.1.1.4 in Windows 7 64 bit machine for which i have downloaded the generic installers of both weblogic server and Oracle service bus. As per the instructions -
    1. Install JDK 1.6
    2. Install Weblogic server
3.Install Eclipse separately (In my case Galileo 11.1.1.5 64 bit) - Just unzip the contents in the home directory where weblogic server is installed
    4. Install OSB
I have installed all the above 1,2,3 in the same folder as per the instructions. But when i try to install OSB which asks for eclipse home location. But when i give the eclipse home location, it gives an error ""Home location is invalid" and i am unable to proceed with the installation.
I have tried this with OSB 11.1.1.5 as well and have the same issue.
Does anyone has any links which provides the steps to install OSB in Windows 7 64 bit machines or if someone can help me to resolve the above issue ?
I really appreciate any information on this as it is urgent.
    Thanks

I have installed OEPE 11.1.1.6.1 now in the same middleware home as weblogic server but when i try to install OSB 11.1.1.4 in the same middleware home, it asks for OEPE home location. Even though i provide the OEPE home location , it displays as "invalid oepe home location".
I have been struggling to get this sorted out so that i can carry out IDE development in OSB 11.1.1.4
Below are the paths where sfotware are installed -
    JDK - C:\Oracle\Middleware\Java\jdk1.6.0_21
    Weblogic server - C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3
    OEPE - C:\Oracle\Middleware\oepe-galileo-all-in-one-11.1.1.6.0.201007221355-win32-x86_64
    Thanks

  • Problem with HP 6500-E709n Wireless software on Windows 7 64-bit

How do I, or should I, uninstall Microsoft xps printer before installing HP 6500-E709n software on Windows 7 64-bit?
I have tried installing, uninstalling & reinstalling the software twice now and am preparing for a third installation. I inadvertently left the wireless printer on during the first installation & eversince then, I've had to physically unplug the printer to get it to shut off. Now, the printer will only shut off with the power button if I hit it before the wireless light comes on.  I cannot get the printer key pad keys to function at all, other than turning the power on & off as described above.
Up to now, I had been using a wireless network flawlessly with a NETGEAR router, untill I tried to install the HP software on my Windows 7 64-bit unit. Now my other computers no longer find the printer....I get the message the printer is off line.
I have currently unistalled all the HP software and rebooted for the third time. The Microsoft XPS printer now shows as the default printer...& I can't find it in the add-remove program list. Do I need to uninstall it before installing the HP software, or is my problem with the eprom firmware?
