Problem in Lock entry

I am using an transaction which do some 5 process and show the status of the process in a screen. When any one of the process stops in middle the object's (like material no. etc)which are locked are left locked. But i have to change that material using an another transaction and continue my transaction with the 5 process.
I tried to dequeue it using lot of function module but couldn't do it.
Could anyone help us ....

  • Lock entries making problem

    Hi Experts,
We are facing one problem durring updating the records in background 'Z' transaction. It will update the a record in mm02. The updated record will store in a Z table.
But while executing mass records(multiple records) its getting error as lock entries. This error also coming after 1000 records. Upto 1000 records we are not getting any error. After this lock entries error comming.
Can any one pls guide me what will be the reason behind this? Even while updating the 'Z' records we are added the commit work also . Still the same error comming. Kindly guide as.
    Moahana.

    Hi
I hope you are using ENQUEUE_E_TABLE and DEQUEUE_E_TABLE FM while updated the tables
Yes Commit statement is very important while updating the records in Tables

  • Unalbe to delete lock entry table using Dequeue function module

    Friends,
I display a base ALV list with custom app. tool bar. When i click on a button, i submit another report which updates a z-table for that corresponding row. I create a lock object for this entry before submitting the report. After updating the table, I try to delete the lock object using dequeue function module in the called report, but though the subrc is 0, the lock entry is not getting deleted in SM12. The called report, after dequeue, again submits report 1 (the caller). So, when i try to do some operation for the same row which I first selected, it triggers Foreign_lock exception. When I completely go out of the base list, only then the entry is deleted. Can anyone tell me the reason? I have tried with parameters _SCOPE & _SYNCHRON, but same result.
    Regards,
    Sathish R

    Hi,
The triggering of the dequeue is not in the proper position as it need to be placed.
Thats the only problem as per u have described the issue.
Place the deque as soon as the report is return the value.
I hope it may work ur issue.

  • Lock Entries - How to unlock

    Hi Gurus,
I have an ID locking the Interactive Planning --> Demand Planning Area, this is not showing up in SM12,
but showing up from the menu --> Edit --> Lock Entries.
What do I do to unlock these?
    Thanks
    JS

    Hello all,
Thanks for your time and response. But there has been an abrupt shutdown of the system, and there is nothing in SM04, SM12, SM66 SM50 running as suggested by all of you. And the locked planning areas are getting unlocked after certain period of time. This is a recurring problem happening to Planning areas.
I am trying to see if I have to patch my system, this is new dev installation SAP SCM version 5.1
    Any ideas would be helpful.
    Thanks

  • Lock Entries are having the false time

    Hello!
I've a problem in the lock table.
When I look at the status screen there is standing the right time.
But the lock entries are listed with a time which is 10 minutes in the future.
Can somebody tell me where this field gets his values? The lock table is in the shared memory I think, but I can't understand why there is the false time.
    Thank you for your answers!
    Florian

    Hi,
do you mean the time of my system?
    This time is correct.
The system time of the ERP Server and my system is nearly the same and the time of the lock entries not.
At our CRM system it is correct.
And at our Test-Systems it is also correct.

  • Too many lock entries on BUT000 in SRM7

    Hi,
When we are trying to update attributes of Org units through FM BBP_UPDATE_ATTRIBUTES, there are so many lock entries created for different values on table BUT000.
We are calling the said FM in loop becasue this FM has the capability of updating just one ORG unit at a time. So while the loop runs, there are a lot of lock entries created on BUT000 which are just not getting unlocked automatically.
There is a huge performance hit due to this. We are not sure how and why BUT000 entries are getting locked while updating org unit attributes.
Please suggest what should be a remedy to this.
    Thanks,
    Tirth

i dont know BUT000 table and have no idea what it does, but i suspect that it works like with every other thing in SAP system.
In DEV you mostly have not much data. E.G. in your case lets say 200 BUT000 entries.
200 lock entries aint a problem for the system.
In Quality you SHOULD have more data, up to number of data in production. If you have nearly same amount of data in Q like in P the problem should have existed in quality as well.
Another thing is that in productive MORE people work.
See there is a table where your lock entries get stored, if that table exceeds some certain amount of entries your system is going to slow down up to dumping or timeouting.
So in production system there are probably other people as well creating lockj entries with various transactions, while when you tested it in quality you were probably not much users on the system.

  • How to check the Lock Entries Dynamically

    Hi
I have a list of Objects in an internal table and i want to know which one of these objects are locked by another users.
I am using SAP standard Lock object 'EPNODE' and its FM 'ENQUEUE_EPNODE ' to Lock the entries.
Please suggest how i can find among a list of objects, which one are locked.
Please suggest any transparent table which hold lock entries or any Function Module which check for lock entries.
    Thanks in adavance

    Hi
Just double click on the FM, it will take you to SE37
click on IMPORT tab there you find import parameters against which there is the associated type
you need to declare your variables(parameteres) according to these associated types
whatever the FM it may be, the process is same
Hope this would solve your problem

  • Other solution for locked entries in smq2

    Hello everyone. Good day!
I have two entries in smq2 that are not moving. However, the status text indicates that they are running. 2 hours has elapsed since the entries started not to move. I have tried unlocking the queues and resetting the message causing the block. After resetting the message, the status text became Object Requested is Currently Locked by User. Thus, I deleted the locked entry in sm12. After deleting, I reset the entries again, then the status was changed to running but the entries are still not moving.
It seems that the steps I performed above do not work. So, my next step is to look at sm37 if there is a failing job. But I found none. I also checked sm59 to see if there is a connection problem with our Java server. But the connection is fine.
Do you have other ideas on how to solve this?
    Thanks in advance!

Me too not sure, how to check in SMQ2.:-(
We ca do this in SXMB_MONI. Here you will find your msg with green flag.
Here there will be a column for queue name. If you click on this it will take you to the screenyou see from SMQ2. In SXMB_MONI, there will be a column which says PE/AE. If it is PE then the msg corresponds to a BPM. Click on PE to know about the steps completed in the BPM.

  • ITS Session produces lock entry in SM12

    Hi
I'm new to the ITS technology.
I have to integrate a Dynpro into a WebDynpro.
Me was told to use the Iframe component in WebDynpro to integrate the "normal" Dynpro via ITS.
In a prototyp I have a WD-View, let's call it View1, where I can press a button to navigate to a second view (view2) where my Iframe is included. The Transaction is called automatically.
That works fine so far. The dynpro is visible in the webdynpro.
    Now to my problem.
If I navigate back with the WD-Navigation button to the view1 and then with my button to the view2 again, the Transaction (that is called autom.) says that the data is already locked by me.
I assume that the first session is not closed with using the webdynpro button.
(A lock entry is listed in SM12)
How can I tell the ITS-Server explizit to end the session?
    Thanks for your help!
    regards, Tom

    Hello Tom,
what type of ITS service are you calling? It sounds as it isn't a SAP GUI for HTML (~webgui=1) service. What does the service looks like? Which ITS parameters are defined?
I wonder why the ITS service does not use the Distributed Session Management provided by many of the SAP clients. However, SAP GUI for HTML brings its own client session management with it. Though it is not supported by SAP, the parameter ~disconnectonclose (that is responsible for that client session management of the SAP GUI for HTML) also can be turned on for so called EWT or IAC services of the ITS. You can find more information in note 689291. Please attend to the notes!

  • About lock entries

    hi all,
I have seen lock entries in sm12. tables are ATPENQ,VBAK. so what should i do?
    please help in this regard.
    regards
    praveen

The purpose of lock management is to monitor the lock logic of your system. You can determine the locks that are currently set. Locks for which the backup flag is set (because they have already been transferred to the update task) are highlighted.
This enables you to detect and rectify problems, for example, by deleting locks that are no longer required.
You can display lock entries according to the following criteria
Table in which rows are locked
             Lock entry argument
            Client
            User who set the lock
This corresponds to the entries in the lock table.
The lock entries are shown in different colors:
Blue means that the locks have already been transferred to the update task, with the result that the backup flag is set. These locks are also rewritten to the lock table when the enqueue server is restarted.
Black means that the lock (still) belongs to the dialog owner. The backup flag is not set.
By choosing Edit - > Sort by, you can display the locks according to user, time, table, or host system (host).
By double-clicking a lock entry, you can display detailed information, including the host name and number of the SAP System in which the lock was generated.
What should you do first if a problem arises?
    Use the diagnosis functions:
    sm12  Extras - >Diagnosis and then
    sm12 Extras - >Diagnosis in update
If a problem is reported, back up the trace files dev_w, dev_disp, dev_eq and check the Syslog.
Hope this would help you in understanding SAP lock management.
    Pls Reward points if useful.
    Regards

  • Release of lock entry when external window closes.

    Hi
I have created a external window for some URL which is created for VF02 transaction.
SET PARAMETER ID 'VF' FIELD lv_drftno.
CALL TRANSACTION 'VF02' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN .
Now my problem is regarding lock entries.
The external window which is created is having a by default close button in upper right corner like explorer.
and if the user use this button to close the window in middle of the transaction the entery get locked.
So there is any method to release that entry on closure of window?
or can we get the event when user press that close button?

If you are using it in TEST MODE swtich on the flag TESTRUN of the BAPI and after that even if you COMMIT the changes will NOT be there in the DATABASE.
Then the locks will be released and changes are also NOT committed to DB if you have the TESTRUN flag on.
Its not recommended that you unlock the locks manually.

    Ravi

  • How to delete lock entries generated by the function module "BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE"

    Hi experts,
I'm now trying to make an add-on program
which updates material master information by the background job.
To update the "Classification" view of material master,
the program calls the function module "BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE".
If the "RETURN" information is valid,
then the program calls "BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT" (with the "wait" parameter 'X').
    Contrary to my intention,
lock entries generated by the function module "BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE" remains after "BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT".
As a result, the material updated remains locked until the add-on processing ends.
To shoot this trouble, I read some SCN discussions below:
    <<lock unlock record>>
⇒ As I wrote above, I checked the parameter for "BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT".
    <<BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE Lock Error !>>
⇒ I cannot call the function module "BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE" with "IN UPDATE TASK" option
    because of "BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE" attributes.
("BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE" is not a "Update Module".)
How can I delete lock entries generated by the function module "BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE" ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Tom

I quess/hope you want to remove locks in you caller program and not locks required by the update task processing to insure database consistencies...
Did you use the WAIT option in the commit FM, else if there are no other locks in your called program a call of FM DEQUEUE_ALL could solve your problem.

    Raymond

Somewhere on other forums, one's talking about Configuring locking: sizing the system & DB_ENV->set_lk_max_locks(),
but how can I my environment the same way with a perl script?

I'm configuring my environment in my Java application via this DB_CONFIG file, and it definitely works. When I had problems like you have, I just increased the number of locks, lockers, objects and everything started to work just fine. Are you sure that you have put DB_CONFIG into environment home directory. Did you increase the number of locks, lockers, objects sufficiently?
    Vyacheslav
UPD. Does your application have enough permissions to read DB_CONFIG file?
