Problem in Logon to Mini SAP
Hello,
I have installed the Mini SAP with WAS 6.20 in my system, which has Windows XP. I was sucessfull in installing the Kernel CD and SAP GUI. So now the SAP logon icon appears on my desktop and i want to login. I have given the following details on it:
Description: Mini SAP
Application Server: hostname (as stated in the CD demo)
Systemnumber: 00(as stated in the CD demo)
So now the system appears on the logon and when i double click to the system to logon, it brings me an error.
Please do find the error:

Yes I did, but any how I have solved this problem. In SAP Logon the host name was wrong, it is not identical with my computer name.
Now I have another question, is this Mini SAP useful only for ABAP or can we use for Best practices for example Customizing HR, MM etc etc.

I've installed SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 2004s & encountered a similar problem when starting SAP Logon.
But upon a close look at my system configuration it revealed that my Full computer name (or host name) was 15 character long as opposed to SAP's recommendation of 13 characters.
You should also check that by examining My Computer's properties.
Once you are done with that, uninstall & reinstall SAP (It worked for me like that).

What these errors means and how to resolve it.Did your installation go will, I feel they where not loaded properly, the system is check for work process for message & dispatch.
Option:
1.Try to re-install, and before installation, delete all the files created during the previous process.
2.Try to increase the work process for message & dialog. And for background and update process you can reduce the same.

it is known that Mini SAP (SAP Netweaver 7.01 for ABAP) is delivered only in languages german and english. I´d like to add spanish to it and would like to know how to do this.
In transaction SMLT I´m getting error message "NLS configuration missing for language XX".

Mini SAP 7.01 under Windows Vista
Hi every one,
I wanna share my experience with you for installing version 7.01 under Vista. This might help you.
I have installed the newest version ([Message from Klaus Keller| of Mini SAP under Windows Vista and, believe it or not, it all went correct. It is important that you download version Netweaver 7.01, since previous versions are not supported in Vista.
In the download section (http://www.sdn.sap.com/downloads/netweaver/abap/disclaimer.html) you find in file part 1 the description of process in a HTML & PDF file. You must pay much attention to what is described there; otherwise, it might happen that the installation process is not sucessful.
I´m not gonna describe the whole installation process. This is already in the download files. Just a reference of what I did:
1 ) make a backup of your information and have your Windows Vista disk at hand. It might happen that you have to format the computer´s hard disk if something goes wrong (this happened to me a couple of times in previous versions of Mini SAP and Windows XP). This is so, because it is impossible to erase some files and information in the registry (even with the Registry Clean Tool that is also downloadable in SDN). A new installation try was hopeless in those versions.
2) shut the firewall and antivirus off before you start.
3) don´t try to name your computer using special characters like - _ / & % and so on; additionally, name should be max. 13 characters long.
4) you need a user account for windows, even if you´re the only one to use the computer and you must assign a password to that user. You need it once you start the server through the SAP management console.
5) Install the Microsoft loopback adapter
once installed, system names it LAN-connection2 and you must asign a permanent IP address. Press button characteristics for its element Internet protocol version 4, where you enter:
IP-Address 10.10.0.10
Subnetwork mask 255.255.255.0
Don´t touch element Internet protocol version 6 !!
6) file hosts under c:windowssystem32driversetc --> add an entry for the host like this:

You must have administrator rights and change the status write-protected for being able to modify it.
7) Process takes less than 1 hour, mostly without user interference.
8) if desired, install Adobe LifeCycle Designer before starting with SAP GUI. It happened to me once (Windows XP) that the installed SAP GUI was erased during installation of LifeCycle. It all then turned into a big mess and I had better to format the hard disk.
9) install SAP GUI on your computer, which is part of the downloaded files.
If installation was sucessful, it might happen that you experience a problem when starting the application server (start --> SAP Netwaever 7.01 --> NSP --> Start application server). You get a red screen with a couple of error messages ([read my post|;). It is not a very serious problem, ´cause you can start the server with the SAP management console anyway.
Hope this helps you when installing Mini SAP 7.01 in your computer.I am having a heck of a time with this install. My OS is Windows Vista Ultimate.
I've read and re-read several forums and tried all the recommendations.
I've tried installing many time now and each time the install runs to 19% and I get a message " stopping Xserver".
Then it runs to 20% and I get a message "preparing packages for installation".
Then it runs for about 3 seconds and I receive the following:

Next.....
Form the start menu, choose run, type MMC and hit enter.
Now you should see an MMC, choose File --> Add/Remove SnapIn. In the "Standalone" dialog, click Add. Scroll down and choose SAP Systems Manager. Click Add. Next dialog, take defaults and hit Next twice. At the screen where it has "System" Enter NSP if not already there. Enter 'localhost 00' into the Instance field and click add. Now Finish. Close the rest of the windows and go back to the MMC, now you should see a SAP Systems node, with your NSP underneath, right-click it and "Start". You can then save this MMC and put a shortcut on your desktop.

I hope someone can help me with the question.
Ive bought the ABAP objects book called An Introduction to Programming SAP Applications from Horst Keller and Sascha Kruger (black color). There are 2 CD's to install the application Mini Basis SAP and work with the ABAP workbench. I was able to install that on a pc Win2000 and it worked and that pc had no sql server/database installed
But I've now another pc Windows XP and has has SQL 2005 Dev edition. I need to keep this.
My problem is when I try to install the Mini Basis I get error. Is it because of Ive already installed the Ms SQL 2005 dev edition?
Im using Windows XP prof edition. How can I install on XP pro this software on my pc keeping the SQL 2005?
I have tried resume_setup.bat and also enabled remote_services for the registry update. no hope.
Can someone please help?

That's exactly what I did. I bought the book and I try install on Win XP pro with SQL 2005 dev edition pre-installed.
I'm in possession of the Mini SAP, I own the book. I also looked at the site you suggested

It seems to be I should be able to install on WIN XP pro due to the site above.
This is how a work
1) CD 1 starts with home page
2) I choose REsume (because I have already pre-installed the SQL 2005)
3) Setup starts
4) asks me which directory, it proposes C:\MBS -- I accept
5) It asks me where is the DATA and the KERNEL CD --- it proposes D: ---I accept
6) at the mean time I click on switch view and I see the logs and this is finally I get (I just copy/paste below the errors no the whole log)
So I don't know how to proceed further. I contacted SAP and they propose me this forums.
Could you please advice?

Why in Min SAP, all the functionality is not working properly? Screen painter is not working. problem in creating new entries in tables and more. hav I missed something while installation or there is some setting to b adjusted. plz help.

This works the same way in the big SAP also. There is a MANDT field in every table. This field makes the tables CLIENT-DEPENDENT.
You might see the differences between cliet dependent and independent:
- for example a table is client independent, because only one table exists in the whole system
- but the contents of that table is client depepndent, because of the MANDT field (which is the first key field) there may be more entries with the same key, except the mandt field.
For example MATNR-s are the same but they can be located in different clients:
MANDT MATNR
010 1000001
020 1000001
If you log into the 010 client, you will see only the 010 1000001 entry, because the MANDT field is handled BY SAP automatically.

Sapgui 710/Vista problem (multiple logon pads open)
Running SAPgui 710 (pl3) on a Vista workstation.
When I open more than 1 SAP logon pad, then select a system from 1 pad, then try to select a system to logon to from the 2nd logon pad, I get the error:
(X) Internal Error: Internal Server Error, no more memory
component DPTM
This does not happen on an XP workstation.
Any suggestions?We reinstalled sapgui, same problem. We installed sapgui on 2 other vista machines - same problem. Is anybody else running Sapgui 710 patch 3 on a Vista machine, with this problem?
1) open a sap logon pad
2) open a 2nd logon pad
3) from the 1st logon pad select a system, get to the logon prompt, minimize the window
4) from the 2nd logon pad, try to select a system
this is where we get the "internal server error"
Anybody else seen this? Do you have a solution?

Mini SAP 6.2: Executing First BSP Page
Hi All,
I am trying to execute the first BSP in Mini SAP 6.2. Getting the following error : Business server PAGE (BSP) error BSP exception: The URL does not contain complete Domainangabe. Even i tried to configure domain using Tcode RZ10, INSTANCE PRofile. I selected the Radio buttong Extended maintenance. THere also i am getting another error (Server p72367_BSP_00 is not active - action cannot be executed). Could any please tell me how to configure the FQDN. I already gone thro "BSP In-Depth: Fully Qualified Domain Names". But i couldnt solve the problem.

Raja TSteps to follow for configuration
1) Transaction SMICM
2) Goto Parameters --> Display
There should be a parameter icm/host_name_full with value as <saphost.sap.com> not just <saphost>
That is ,the url should be specified as Protocol>://<Hostname>.<Domain>.<Extension> :<Port>/
If it is not there and host name is just <server name> then do following:
Transaction RZ10
a) View profiles ,if no profile then press Import .
This will generate the profiles available (5 profiles), namely :
1)Default profile
2) Instance profiles
3)Start profiles
In instance profile of sap system (SID>_<INSTNAME>_<hostname>)
in Extended maintenance option,
b)Copy Profile to new Version
c) Create a new Parameter in the profile.
Select the icm/host_name_full in the parameter name and put the value <servername.domain.extension>
d) Save parameter and the profile and then Activate .This will create a new version of the profile.
e ) Then restart ICM.
Profile creation requires Admin rights for user for profile to be generated correctly.
