Problem in opening the package indesign

Hi guys, need help one of my client having problems in opening the indd package I have sent to them via ftp, the files are compressed in a zip file. Then I try to download the zip package, it opens and works well. I'm using CS3 windows base by the way.

Just to fill you in, the client and I have the same version of Indesign CS3 only I’m working on a PC platform and the client on Mac. The indesign files we have been working is been updated monthly, on the previous months of exchanging files we did not encounter this problem only now. I already check the file that is been upload and open it on my Mac the indesign file work fine at my end, but on the clients it does not open and the indesign application closes. We did come up with a temporary solution which exporting it in INX. On the clients end this works. But we want this out in our process to cut time and I want to know how this happen and how to avoid.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select
/var/log ▹ install.log
from the hierarchical list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

Mac OS 10.7.4, installing Microsoft Office 14.2.7, error "The Installer can't open the package. There may be a problem with file ownership or permissions."

The Apple Installer version is Version 5.0.1 (537).
When I check the Installer Log, I find only these two messages that I do not understand.

I changed all the permissions for all the Microsoft Office Folder users to Read and Write.
Restart, same error

I had identical Installer Log failure notices: I used Houdini to view the invisible files and per Limnos' suggestion cautiously dragged
user > library > preferences > com.apple.installer.plist out of that folder onto my desktop and double-clicked on the .pkg file again and it opened and installed properly.
My Installer now works properly on all .pkg files.

Hi there,
I have created an InCopy package file from InDesign CS3 (Mac). I am able to open this package file in InCopy CS3 (Mac) without error. However, two editors working in InCopy CS4 (Windows) on different machines receive the following error message when trying to open the .incp file:
"An error has occurred opening the package file"
I have read AnneMarie's excellent cautionary tales about working in a mixed CS3 / CS4 environment, but my understanding was that simply opening the initial .incp file was unlikely to produce an error.
Can anyone suggest what might be causing the error? Should we conclude that the error stems solely from a CS3 / CS4 conflict?

Great tip about the masked filetype, I hadn't realized these packages were so easily extractable.
However, the error message you're receiving is adding a new layer of complexity. A quick search on these forums reveals this thread:

That thread suggests to me that the error may be related to Snow Leopard. We're using Mac OS 10.5.7 here at work. Could I trouble you to open the file on your Windows machine to attempt to replicate the same error we're receiving in Windows here?
And are there any known issues that could prevent a user from opening a package file?

Hi, everytime I try to install Final Cut Studio 2 on my Mac Book Pro (10.6.2), I get this message:
The installer is damaged.
The installer can't open the package. There may be a problem with file ownership or permissions.
When i run Disk Utility, the package seems to have no problems. I'm sure the dmg is not corrupted since I was able to install this on my iMac G5 (10.5).

Locate the original disks and make a new dmg. I've had to do this occasionally. Not sure why the installer disk image breaks, but it does. In fact, I've had more problems with the Adobe disk images I've made. They seem to install once, and then break, which totally defeats the purpose of making them. The FCS dmgs I've made have lasted a while, and I've used them about 6 or 7 times. But I did have to recreate them twice in 3 years.
If it says the installer can't use it, best bet is, you won't be able to fix it. One thing you could try though, copy them to a desktop and then run them. It could have to do with trying to run them over a managed network.

I am using a MacBook Pro (2010) with 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB, 1067 MHz, DDR3, Startvolume Macintosh HD.
After downloading the package and starting upgrading it asks acceptance of the license-agreement. After that it asks for the volume were to install. And when I click on the Startvolume Macintosh HD (which is the only available on the machine) it says: "The volume is already being used for Time Machine-Backups".
It doesn´t offer to skip that point or to reconfigure the Time Machine settings.
The point is that my Time machine is not and has never used the Mac HD for Backups. In the past I have used an external drive and since 05/2014 I am using a Time Capsule which is appropriately addressed in the Time Machine settings.

I meant holding the "option" (or "alt") key on your keyboard as you click the Outlook icon on the Dock, and continuing to hold it until you see the Microsoft Database Utility come up. Alternatively, you can open the utility by navigating to Applications/Microsoft Office 2011/Office and then double-clicking the Microsoft Database Utility app.
When you rebuild your database using that program, a backup copy of your original database (containing your account info, contacts, mail, calendars, etc) will be created. As a security precaution, you should also ensure you have a backup of your database (which you can find by going to Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities/ and copying the contents of that folder onto an external drive).

There is no "Add-on" that I'm aware that will allow you to EDIT .pdf files for FREE. Editing .pdf is using a Paid Feature in pdf programs (Adobe Acrobat ProX & FoxIT PDF.)

Problem of openning the queries.

Dear experts,
I have a problem in openning the existant queries.
The BEX analyse shows the infomation as "No entry" when i tried to open a query.
And then i did some tests. I found that
when i delete a query, (ex:
Name: BtoB: Search for the new materials
Technical Name: BPS_Test_V001.)
And I then open another query and modify it and to save it again as
(BtoB: Search the new materials
Technical Name: BPS_Test_V001) . The system allow me to save it like that(i changed a bit the query's name). But after i close it, i could not open it again.
Did anybody also meet such problem? And why?

we have been facing such kind of issues that were caused by technical names / descriptions that were too long. Please try to save with short description / technical name, maybe you can now open your queries. This issue can be fixed with some additional .dll...

[4.0 EA2] - Shift + F4 does not open the package specifications

Hi,
I tried opening the package specifications by clicking on the package name in a worksheet and then doing a Shift+F4 but it did not work.
This used to work on 4.0.0.12.27. Is this a bug?

Problem while executing the package

Hi Guys,
I am getting the problem while executin the package for 1 of the interface named PRE_SYNC_EX_ARMY_VEH_DEL.
The source tables are EX_ARMY_VEH_TMP and CONTROL_DEL & target table is CONTROL_DEL
All the three tables are in the same schema named RTO_STAGE.
I am looking in the operator as at the first session is in the process(running mode) with "DROP FLOW TABLE" as the message while all other sessions are in the waiting mode related to that interface PRE_SYNC_EX_ARMY_VEH_DEL.The previous interface before it ie PRE_SYNC_AXLE_DEL & PRE_SYNC_AXLE_DELNR is running okk(with all succesful session).
**In one statement I can summerize that execution of package is halting/stopped at one interface & not showing error in operator(showing running)**
what would be the problem?

Hi,
You didn't mention the exact error.
Did you check if your interface succeeds outside the Package?
If yes, have you included any odiFileWait event which's why other tasks are kept in Wait mode?
In any case, if there's an error, the task with the red-colored icon shows the one with problem. Double-click it & go to the Execution tab to get the exact error

Why are my earpods only working on one side while i just opened the package?

Hi, I just have a question about these earpods. So I bought my new Iphone 5 almost 2 months ago and they were shipped with the earpods and all the usual accessories so I thought it was fine. But I already had other headphones that worked great so I decided to save my earpods an use my regular headphones. So like an hour ago my normal headphones broke and I thought lets try my earpods. I plugged them into my laptop but I only heard the music out of 1 earpod, the left one. I thought maybe there's something wrong with my computer and I tried them in my Iphone but it stayed the same. So I was like is this normal and i searched for a review on them and I found out that it wasn't. Is it possible to recieve new ones or do I have to buy new ones? Thanks for that. Yes, the ipad was purchased recently. I called Apple last Friday and they ask for the receipt. I wonder if anyone were able to swap their ipad for a larger storage in the past at the apple store without a receipt? 16Gb is such a small storage.
