Problem in printing OCR B font.

Hello All,
We are trying to print text in the font OCR B , we are gettting the correct output in the spool request but the print output is not exactly matching the spool output.
The text which is printed in font OCR B is getting shrinked in size in the print output.
We have installed the correct printer driver . Could you please us on the same.
Regards,
Murugan.

Hi,
It depends a bit on the device type and printer. When you print from SAP via e.g. a PCL device type, the actual print depenmds on the fonts installed internally in the printer. The size of the OCRB font can be seen in SE73 -> Printer Fonts -> <Device type>. But SAP just sends a command to the printer to select ths font internally in the printer.
If you upload a true type OCRb font via SE73 -> button 'Install TrueType Fonts' and use this font for printing the OCRB characters, then the preview and print should look the same.

Aidan

  • Getting font problem for printing form in Production server.

    Hi experts,
We are getting problem while printing form in production server. As it gives no problem in Quality server while printing the same, the print is fine. We applied packages from 26 to 28 level for version 4.7. When we moved this packages to Production server we got problem of font while printing the form for some of scripts. But the surprise is that in Quality server the print is fine, no problem at all.
Can any one suggest me on this issue.
    Regards,
    Sagun Desai.

    Hi sagun,
Please check the spool request generated on production server using tcode SP01.
Goto dispaly spool request and check the spool. If the spool too displays your script correctly then there is a problem in printer connected to production server.
The printer connected to the test server  might be rightly conffigured to print the output. Please check the settings of the printer connected to the production.
    Hope this helps.

  • OCR B Font Issue in prinitng

    Hi Friends,
We are trying to print cheques using OCR B Font.
When I try to print any of the cheque from SAP the font is not displayed in OCR B fromat.
Please let me know if any one has worked on OCR B Font.
    Thanks,
    Naresh

    Hi Naresh,
we worked with OCR-B font on cheques with SAPscript (on 4.6c and on 6.0). The bank was not completely satisfied with the result but they finally accepted it (they told us that it was not exactly 12 point large although we set it to 12 point in SAP).
Have you checked the print preview in SAP? Can you see OCR-B there? Maybe your printer has problems with this font.
Please try the following: Set one paragraph to ARIAL or TIMES (for example) and one to OCR-B and print the cheque. Check if you can see a different font for both paragraphs. If no, please check again the settings for the used paragraph format.
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • How to print true type font in smartform with ECC6

    hi,expert:
I want to use true type font "Comic Sans MS.ttf".
I upload this font file by SE73 named ZTT2I.
In SE73.. select the Radio button "Font Families" And click on the "True type Font Installation" button. click the font attribute ITALIC。
Our print device is LP01 and driver is CNSAPWIN
when I create a new style in smartform using the font ZTT, in preview window the font still like other font.
    Our system is IDES ECC6, SAP_BASIS SAPKB70014
Now when I create smartfrom in language EN adn logon with language EN,it can print correct style of that font.
But if the smartform is base on language ZH or logon with language ZH, the output is not correct.
    why? How to solve it?
how can I solve this problem?
    thaks a lot

    Hi,
Is the problem that uploaded true type font ZTT is not used when language is ZH? Did you update the chinese version of the style associated with the smartform? There is a separate style for each language version. So you need to log on in Chinese language and update the style with new paragraph, character formats. Then you need to activate the style and smartform for ZH langauge also.

  • HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP printer cancellation of fonts

I have a technical question.  I developed my own word processing and printing programs starting with the original IBM and epson dot matrix printer and then the HP Laserjet printers.  Students a University of Pennsylvania and Princeton used my programs
to write their Ph. D. theses.  Now there are plenty of programs do to this but I have  kept my current.  Everything was fine until the printer listed in the title.  My program loads fonts in the printer.  The font # are 7000,7001,7002,7003,7004.
I choose these numbers so as not to interfere with other fonts.  My program runs in DosBox and sends data to the printer by writing to the file TRASH789.PCL in the directory C:\SPOOL and the program printfile (downloaded from the internet) spools the
file to the printer.  When my program begins it sends the esc sequence that selects the fonts.  Also I set the  line feed to be 1/2 a line feed.  (My programs works like a typewriter and subscripts and superscripts are just a 1/2 space
up or down.)   On all other HP printers for say 20 years everything is fine but with the printer mentioned above my font selection and 1/2 line feed are canceled.  Various sequences of character will cause this to happen.  It is pretty
random.  One sequence I have isolated is below.
                        a3  a3  a3
The a's can be upper or lower case.  There can be other characters between then etc.  But if the first few lines that at printed contain these characters the fonts and 1/2 line spacing are canceled.  If you put a paragraph before the a3,a3,a3
it will not happen.  It the a3's occur at the top of a new page it will happen.
I have tried various things to fix the error like repeatedly telling the printer to select my fonts, or loading an empty rasher of graphics a the top of the page but nothing works.   Fortunately for 95% of what I print it is not a
problem.  I have work around solutions, making a PDF file using GHOSTPCL, or using another program that uses rasher graphics.  (I wrote this some years ago when I bought a DESKJET printer.  Now computers are so fast that the time delay with
the rasher graphics program is hardly  noticeable.
I realize that the number of people with my problems can be counted on one hand so there is no great motivation for fixing this problem but given the other problems with this printer (I have seen mentioned on the web) it seems
to me there may be a connection.  (I only bought this printer, scanner, fax, etc)  because I had a grant that was expiring and I wanted to spend the money.  My guess is that will all the functions of this printer, probably set up by different
groups of people, the printer has glitches.  As someone who has spent years on my own programs I know it can take months to figure them out.  My only hope is that maybe this might help someone.
       Thanks for your attention.

    Hi treborpowers,
According to your description, you developped a program which runs in DosBox. When this program running, it sends request to DosBox, then DosBox sends request to Windows to call  Microsoft font 7000,7001,7002,7003, 7004, then Windows responds
this request, however, the program could not print the font in DosBox correctly. Right?
Since it is difficult to narrow down the issue is cause by Windows, in order to resolve this issue effectively, please get help from the professional forum about the programming language.
    Thanks for your understanding!

  • When I send an email in Thunderbird it looks fine, but when the recipient tries to print it, the font is unreadablly small. Is there a setting I need to fix?

I have Thunderbird version 24.3.0 downloaded to my Windows 7 computer.
When I send an email in Thunderbird it looks fine and when the recipient receives it, it looks fine on the screen, but when she tries to print it, the font is unreadably small. This happens on every email I send her, but not other people's emails she receives. It has happened on some of the emails I receive back from her that contain the information I sent her.
Is there a setting I need to fix or something I can do on my end to address this so this doesn't happen. She is receiving email through AOL online. I believe she is viewing it through either IE or Chrome.

I recently tried sending myself an email through Thunderbird to another email account to see if that was the case, but the email came in with a font so tiny that it was unreadable. I had chosen a font type and size (arial 10) and just coming into my outlook inbox was virtually unreadable.
And referring to the person I work with, she doesn't have problems getting anyone else's emails, just ones I send from Thunderbird.

  • Problems with print to pdf with Acrobat Pro 9 and FireFox 8

***The page I am using for my base is: http://blogs.adobe.com/digitalpublishing/2010/12/google-ebooks.html
***I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and FireFox 8 installed.
The problem with FireFox is when I select a part of a web page and try to print that selected text the first line gets chopped, if the text is small the first line might even be missing completely.  Perhaps it is a margin issue but not sure how to modify this.
I know I am not being very clear but if anybody has any ideas or would like further info please let me know.
    Thank you.

I suspect if you do the same process with a print to paper, you will get the same result. I got the same result with SeaMonkey, but IE8 printed the full font to a PDF. That would suggest it is not Acrobat, but the browser. As I said, suggests, so be careful about drawing your conclusions.

  • I had a problem with print preview of billing document.

    HI all,
I had a problem with print preview of billing document which contains two output types ZR1 ZR2..
For the footer text of billing document I maintained the font size as 7,5 pts, But when i go for print preview from output type ZR1 the font size of footer text is very small and looks good for output type ZR2.
If i change the print options-->logical destination of output type ZR1 same as Output type ZR2, the footer text looks good.
I think there is some issue with logical destination in print options for the output type ZR1, how can i resolve  it.

    hi,
for both the output types , r u using same sapscript or smartform?
if yes then, u can control it in output options of smartform and also in sapscript , you can control through if condition.
and if differect sapscript or smartform then you should not get such problem.
you can check the sapscript or smartfrom in TNAPR table.

  • Problems when printing help topics from OHJ

We have encountered some persistent problems when printing help topics from Oracle Help for Java (Ice Browser).
NOTE: When we print the same source files from Oracle Help for the Web, the printing problems are gone.
    (1) Spacing Errors (all printers had identical results)
Text with special formatting (<b>, <i>) often has either too much space or not enough space.
Links often have extra spaces underlined before or after the link, itself.
    (2) When printing multiple help topics from the TOC (an entire branch in the tree):
On some printers, no graphics print correctly, but instead print as one of the following: 1. empty box the size of one character, 2. black box the size of one character, 3. black box the size of the original graphic. We could not detect a pattern that caused 1, 2, or 3.
NOTE: all graphics are bit maps (screen captures) that were generated in the same manner.
NOTE: if these same help topics are printed one at a time form Oracle Help for Java, the graphics print fine.
Is this a problem with the Ice Browser?
    Thanks for the help,
    Wendy Studinski

There are a known issue with the ICEBrowser printing in some circumstances. The laying out of text by the ICE Browser relies on font metrics (being able to measure the width of a run of text in a given font). On screen it looks great, but when printing, even though the GraphicsConfiguration for the printer is being used, these widths are sometimes off, which can result in text running together at boundaries between text styles. We're not sure what to do about this problem, and we've reported it to IceSoft.
Not every font has this problem, so varying the font you are using might help the appearance when printed.
The other problem you report, problems with the images when printing multiple topics, is something that we will look into.

  • Problem when printing JTreeTable

    Hi,
I've datas wich i display in a JTable or in a JTreeTable (see http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/treetable1/ ).
Now, i'd like to print the JTable or the JTreeTable, i use the code i've found here : http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Programming/JDCBook/advprint.html .
    There was a bug ( see http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=57&thread=263303 ).
The JTable prints itself very fine but i've two problems with the JTreeTable :
    1) I've always some last rows on a page and on the next page, even if i include the table.getRowMargin() or not.
    2) Almost all the node are printed with "...", for instance : TRES -> TR... although they are well displayed on screen.
It doesn't depend on the width of the column and i can't know how Swing decide or not to display the "..." (for instance, i've "C..." and "CR..." but they are at the same x-location with the same icons, the same font and the same font's size; just not the same number of caracters)
I don't post any code because it's long, it's just a mix between the links.
Any help would be great before i kill hundreds of tree.
    Thanks in adavance.
    Fade.

    Hi Fade,
I am having the same problem in printing a JTreeTable. The nodes of the JTree are getting clipped and are followed by ellipsis(...). A similar problem occurs for the other table columns, if the column separators(borders) are closely aligned with the text. It seems that the space required for rendering the components within the table, is more while printing. The problem is more prominent in case of the tree nodes. In case you have found a solution for the same, it would be nice if u could help me with it. Or if there's any one out there who could be of help, pls. reply.
    Thanx.

My documents are printing in Asian font. I have HP officejet6310 all in one.   When I go into properties, then advanced, "Download Asian Fonts" is checked, but I'm unable to uncheck.
    Any ideas?

    Hi there cobb,
To check for any software problems lets try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.
