Problem in publishing master catalog
Hi,
I am not an SAP expert. I would like to ask your help about our current issue at hand. I need to publish the master catalog but I dont know how to do it. We have installed SRM 5.0 and CCM 2.0. Can you give me a detailed steps on how to do it? And also, i dont know how to create nor upload a schema. The only type of schema that the system may accept is in csv format because xml format will be applicable because it is a stand-alone system. It is not integrated yet to EP or XI.
Hoping for your apt reply. Thank you.

Charm

Problem with publishing catalog in another language
Re: Master catalog schema.......
Catalog item not found during publication master catalog
The Master Catalog in CCM is never manually created by an administrator, the catalog is generated upon entering the CDC (Catalog Design Center) {Edit Catalogs}. Providing the CCM system has been initialized using the report /ccm/initialize_cme the catalog will be automatically generated as described above, even if deleted upon next entry to the CDC a new Master will be created again.

Hi All,
Can anyone throw some light why master catalogs get locked while publishing - the main cause; & how one can avoid getting them locked?
Thanks in advance!
RamanHi Raman,
In a nutshell, the main reason for catalog locking is due to unfinished/cancelled processes during the publication.
There are several stages of publication, the are primarily ~ Initiation -> Content Aggregation -> Indexing and Optimization -> Rule Execution (if required) -> Catalog Activation. Then as a seperate process we run the DELETE_OUTDATED_CATALOG process to remove the old SE version.
Sometimes what happens, particularly where people use parallel processing/large amounts of rules and views/have very little memory resource available to the catalog we see failures. Sometimes, people cancel the jobs because they feel publication is not doing anything, i.e. they look in SM37 and just see the job running for what seems like forever. We tend to see this when the publication is on the Rule Execution phase or activation phase. Cancelling the job now leaves the catalog in an inconsistent state which will certainly require manual intervention to 'Cleanup'.
When experiencing issues with the publication you should always analyse the underlying cause, i.e. if the problem seems to be in Rule Execution, maybe 80% of the runtime is spent here, then can you reduce the amount of views used or the amount of contained rules in these views? Would it be easier to limit the access by creating different procurement catalogs with different call structures rather than having lots of views ?1?!
Parallel processing is also an issue occasionally, mostly, it is very useful and improves the runtime, but from time to time especially if your catalog is already problematic, it can make things much worse .... where you had a process which was possibly problematic with sequential processing, now with multiple processes, this is simply going to be a problem!!
Best always to switch this parallel processing off until the catalog is returned to a healthy state again.
I hope this provides some help ...

How to upload Master Catalog Schema in Catalog Content Management SRM
Hi All,
Please provide the solution as we are in real trouble.
We have to delete master catalog and upload it again. Deletion is done because the mapping and all are being corrupted. SAP has suggested to delete the catalog and again upload it and do all the mapping again related to supplier and procurement catalog.
Can all of you guide us what to do:
1. How to delete a existing Master catalog (can de-publish will do it?)?
2. We have the master catalog schema with us. Please tell how to upload this schema. Which link we have to follow?
3. After uploading the master schema how we can check that master catalog is working fine.
The answers will be rewarded with valuable points
Regards
Praveen K GhoshSridhar,
I am contacting you regarding the same problem with the CCM MASTER CATALOG, as Praveen said, SAP has suggested to delete the catalog and again upload it and do all the mapping again related to supplier and procurement catalog.
I have read the documents that you refer to at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm50/helpdata/en/7f/9b62405c910272e10000000a155106/frameset.htm.
In this link I found information really useful, however according to the document the CCM MASTER CATALOG should be created automatically by the SAP Catalog Authoring Tool, this happends the first time that you are using the system.
Catalog Creation
You use this function to create catalogs in SAP Catalog Authoring Tool.
You can create the following types of catalogs:
Supplier catalogs
Procurement catalogs
Model service catalogs
Note
SAP Catalog Authoring Tool creates the master catalog, the SRM product catalog, SRM contract catalogs, and the contract catalog for service specifications automatically.
When SAP Catalog Authoring Tool is used for the first time, you must open the Edit Catalogs application once, before you create any catalogs. Choosing Edit Catalogs triggers the creation of the master catalog. If you do not do this, SAP Catalog Authoring Tool outputs an error message when you try to create a catalog.
We have already the Master Schema and we know how to map the CCM MASTER CATALOG to the supplier and procurement catalogs. The main problem is that we need to delete the CCM/MASTERCATALOG and created again.
1. How delete the CCM/MASTERCATALOG?
In a Test enviroment I have delete the CCM/MASTERCATALOG using the "Edit Catalogs" mode then choosing the catalog and confirm the deletion.
Once this has been done, all the catalogs has been erased including the CCM/MASTERCATALOG, so now we have the system in blank. I am not sure if this is the correct way to delete the catalog or there is an easiest way where the Procurement and supplier catalogs dont dissapear once the CCM/MASTERCATALOG is deleted.
2. Once the CCM/MASTERCATAOG is deleted how to created again?
According to the instructions the SAP Catalog Authoring Tool should created this automatically when is used for the first time, however how we can created the CCM/MASTERCATALOG again if the SAP Catalog Authoring Tool is not used for the fist time.
Is there a way where the system can create the CCM/MASTERCATALOG for a second time?
I follow the steps to create the CCM/MASTERCATALOG for the first time however i didnt get a positive result.
Any help provided will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Upload categories master catalog
Hi to all,
- I am working in the extended classic scenario
- release 5.0
- file .CSV 2.0
I have a problem uploading the categories of the master catalog:
when i go to edit the master catalog, the system doesn't permit to see the categories and i can read the following error message:"not category in the master catalog".
The master catalog is in error.
I can see that it has no category (it is empty) and there are two red dots, one under "published" and one under "uploaded".
So I want one of the following:
1.To create a new master catalog, can you help me step by step?
2.Is it possible to have a general file in format .CSV to upload my master catalogin error?
Best regards.
thanks a lot.
DaviMarcHi DaviMarc,
Which version and SP of CCM are you using? if you have problems to edit your master catalog you can check OSS Note 1024002 (depends of your version)
On the other hand I have an example of the file to upload the schema to the master catalog, give me your ID and I can send you

(CCM2) Error when edit Master Catalog
Hi,,
I have one problem
Hi,,
I have two problems with the catalog
1.- After I uploaded some content in a supplier catalog, I was not able to do any mapping. I think the problem is in the master catalog. Now suddenly I can't edit it. A error message is displayed. I saw the dump in the system but I don't see any SAP note related.
the message say
"RAISE_EXCEPTION" C
"SAPLSYGU" or "LSYGUU03"
"GUID_CONVERT"
or "SAPLSYGU" "PARAMETERS_ERROR" or "SAPMHTTP " "PARAMETERS_ERROR"
Our level of patch is

CCM 200_640 0002 SAPK-26402INCCM
SRM_SERVER 500 0008 SAPKIBKS08
ThanksYou should check if you have two different master catalogs in your CCM system itself, not only in your web frontend (e.g. Internet Explorer). One master is probably active and one master is set to inactive. Delete the inactive master and you are able again to do the mapping between supplier catalog and master catalog and to edit the master.
@ R.Janke: Independent of the problem in this thread. Is it really necessary to publish the master schema only? In case you want to work with purchasing catalogs you wouldn´t publish your master catalog at all. Is your proposal related to any SP or is it already solved with a new SP?

Master Catalog is locked!
Need you help!
Our master catalog is locked and I'm trying to unlock it. As I read some of the postings in this thread, I checked /CCM/D_CTLG_REG and I see two versions of our master catalog. However, both versions are inactive (there's no x next to either one).
To unlock or delete inactive catalogs, there's /CCM/CLEANUP_CATALOG. Since our master catalog is inactive for both versions, if I delete 'inactive' version, would that delete both of them? How do I set one of these to active and delete the inactive one?
Please help.

No entry was generated in Master catalog after contract upload by PI...
We use CCM 2.0 as percurment catalog in SRM 7.0 server.
1.I finish the basic configuration and tranfer the product catalog to the CCM.
2.Then I do the mapping of product cat to master cat.
3.I finished the PI scenarios for upload contract.
4.When I publish a contract in the potral, I check the PI monitor is fine.
5.I check the CCM log more, but there is a warning message 'No original catalog item found for contract catalog item 1'.
6.The contract upload successfully and it occurs in the ccm cataloags.
7.The log showed that
19.09.2010 16:09:01 (CET): Starting mapping
19.09.2010 16:09:01 (CET): Starting mapping analysis for catalog 4400000049 -> /CCM/MASTER_CATALOG

19.09.2010 16:09:04 (CET): Mapping completed for catalog 4400000049
But unfortunately, there is no entry in the master catalog for this contract.
Could you give me some suggestion?
Much appreciated~~~Looks like the catalog was unable to be enriched from existing data - does this contract item exist in the SRM product catalog or a supplier catalog for enrichment to take place?
Regards.

CCM 2.0: Status of items is not changed in Master Catalog
Hello all,
when I upload the same items in Supplier Catalog in Master Catalog and Procurement Catalog for items status is not changed from "Approved" to "Not Approved".
Funny thing is that items need to be approved to go to Procurement Catalog from Master and to publish Procurement Catalog.
What to do?
GordanHello Gordan,
do you mean that in CAT customizing you have your /ccm/master_catalog with "approved" value and the name of your procurement with "To approve" value?
Best regards

How do I merge external drive images to desk top drive within the same master catalog?
I have about 900 raw files on an external drive. I edited those files using my master catalog using a laptop while still travelling. When I got home, I copied the master catalog from the external drive to the desk top, then opened the master catalog on my desktop. I can see the edited images on the external drive. So far so good.
I want to copy (add) the edited images to my desk top. I tried to export the images as a new catalog and then import it into the desire location on my desktop drive. However, LR5 does not allow that. I get this message: "There is nothing new in the catalog you have selected. All of the catalog's photos are up to date in this catalog." Yes, but the edited images are not on my desktop.....
I also tried to Import from the external drive and then Copy the files to the desktop, but then I lose all of the work done in the develop module and the keywords.
I watched Kost's LR 3 video on merging catalogs, but she dodges the question of how to deal with this issue since the "merge" is within the same catalog.
I'm using LR5 with Windows 7.
Any suggestions would be immensely appreciated as I've spent hours trying to resolve this problem.Okay, so I would copy (not move) the folders/photos to the internal HD, keeping them in the same folder hierarchy as they are in now on the external HD. Yes, of course the drive name will be different, but other than that the folder path and file name should be the same.
Then, open the LR catalog that indexes the files and Update Folder Location (details are here: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm, scroll down to the "Update Folder Location" section)
Then, once that is complete and everything is working in your LR catalog, with no question marks on the photos or folders, optionally delete the photos on the external HD. -

Any help provided will be really appreciated.Hi,
Generation of the /CCM/MASTER_CATALOG is automatic and does not require any additional effort from a catalog admin other than accessing the CDC (Edit Catalogs).
If the catalog is not regenerated at this point it is likely that you then receive an error like 'Error reading catalogs, error reading Master Catalog' or something similar which would indicate that the previous deletion of the master from either table /CCM/D_CTLG or /CCM/D_CTLG_REQ was not successfully completed or that the update operation in table /CCM/D_UPD_STATE remained in update status and never for some reason completed (status 03).
Deletion of the Master catalog should not cause the deletion of any other catalog, unless you have chosen 'delete all catalogs'! Choosing the Master and delete should result in only a deletion request for the master catalog, be aware however that all mapping records between Supplier -> Master -> Procurement catalogs will be destroyed and cannot be 'rejoined' but only rebuilt from scratch. It is also advisable after the Master deletion to chcek with report /CCM/CLEANUP_MAPPING which orphaned items and mapping records require cleanup as it is better to remove these before proceeding with the new mappings.

Publishing Product Catalog without Images/Documents
Hello Experts
I got a nice write-up ([link|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/PublicationofCatalog+Content]) mentioning that the web server is not required while replicating the Product Catalog and when no images are required.
But still for the activity - Setting Target for Publishing Catalog Contents, I would like to know the entries to be made when we do not need any document to be uploaded with product Catalog.
SPROCustomer Relationship Management Master Data Product Catalog Set Targets for Publishing Catalog Contents
Publish. target

HTTP directory
RFC destination

Regards, VishalHello Vishal,
There are two process at work usually when you mention product catalog replication
1. The Replication (creation of the TREX index)
2. Publication of the catalog content this uses the function module COM_PCAT_IMS_PB_PUBLISH to publish the catalog content to a webserver.
If you do not wish to publish catalog content all you need to do is leave the "Publishing Computer ID" field blank during the replication process and the publication will not take place.
The configuration in Set Targets for Publishing Catalog Contents will be checked and used if you have decided to use the Publication.

It seems like master catalog got locked. When I tried to map few supplier catalog to master catalog, I could see the message "Master catalog is locked" in SLG1.
I noticed two things which could be a reason:
1. There are two entries for the master catalog in the
table: /CCM/D_CTLG_REQ. Two versions are there 109 and 110. For the
version 109, field REQ_SENDER is showing the value FILE UPLOAD. Seems
like the master catalog is locked.
2. In the table /CCM/D_CTLG, for the version 109 the value for the
field Operation is showing as blank (undefined)
In SLG1 - when we tried to upload data in other supplier catalogs, we
are getting the message "Master catalog is locked".
I ran the report /CCM/CLEANUP_CATALOG to unlock the master catalog. But
it is not unlocking the catalog.
Also I ran the report: /CCM/CLEANUP_UPDATE_STATUS which changed the
status of the catalog from 03 to 05 in the table: /CCM/D_UPD_STATE
Please advise.

I create a LR catalog for each client which works great as I have many repeat clients and can easily access all of their images. However, I want to have a master studio catalog that includes the edited images from all of the
jobs. When I have imported these images into the master, the lightroom adjustments are lost. How can I import import the edited images showing LR adjustments?I can answer your question literally, exactly what you have asked.
Or I could suggest something else, more elegant, which may address your real needs better.
Let me do the first:
Use the command "export as catalog" for the new delta of the current job of that repeat client. For the first job you do not need this, as the total catalog is just about the portion you want to have in your master catalog.
Then open your master catalog and use the command "import from another catalog", select this exported portion, and you are done. But caveat: now the same image file is referenced by 2 catalogs, which may lead to,problems, e.g. If you move the image within Lightroom.
Alternative suggestion: just work with 1 master catalog and use a collection set per each of your clients, one collection per job underneath. If appropriate, create more collections in that client's set, e.g. only for images he/she bought actually.
So far I have not understood what an individual catalog per client gives you, what a collection (set) would not?

Requesting master catalog location be selectable at install. I try to keep all data off of system drives. (Expect I an not the first to request this.)
tnemgif had this to say:
You recommend that I just let the install catalog 'lay fallow' and
populate others in locations of my choice.
Exactly.
Perhaps not so eloquent but certainly a workable solution. In fact, I have just renamed the install
catalogs and LR3 took no notice.
Correct. LR pretty much only knows about the catalog that's currently
open. If you go and delete another catalog that you are not currently
working on, LR won't mind, as it knows nothing about other catalogs. You
might mind, if it turns out you need it later.
Thank you.
No problem.
