  • Problem while Scheduling Archive Jobs from SXMB_ADM

    Dear all,
    I am using this blog to delete and archive messages.
    /people/deepak.shah/blog/2010/04/22/archiving-deletion-of-messages-in-pi--part-2
    I have configured Retention periods from SXMB_ADM and there by scheduled Archive Jobs through SXMB_ADM itself.
    Now when i check in SM37, after Archive jobs scheduled , i am not able to see 2 jobs as described in this Blog.
    i am able to see only one Job with name "SAP_BC_XMB_ARCHIVE200"
    Please assist me what might be the problem
    Regards

    Hi Ganesh,
    Thank you for replying. Once this SAP_BC_XMB_ARCHIVE200 is finished, one more job has been generated
    ARV_BC_XMB_WRP20100602112115. But this is not for deletion . it is doing archiving
    When i check the log, SAP_BC_XMB_ARCHIVE200 contains the program as RSXMB_ARCHIVE_PLAN
    and ARV_BC_XMB_WRP20100602112115 job contains the program as RSXMB_ARCHIVE_MESSAGES
    There is no job generated for deletion of Archived ones.
    >>Deletion job starts automatically if in archiving setting u have selected START AUTOMATICALLY option for deletion .
    Could you please let me know where this should be done while doing Archiving jobs??

  • Problem in Scheduling a job with IF condition

    Hi All,
    We have list of jobs running everyday through shceduler. All jobs are running successfully.
    But one job is behaving strange.
    The Job has been running before the trigger file is received. This has caused a lot of pain since Everyday the users are pointing it and I’m loading it again.
    When I add the condition for the job, the job does not run.
    We need to be able to add the if condition exists to avoid this situation.
    Please let me know if you have any idea on this issue.
    I am using Arcana Scheduler, Windows 2003 server, Version of Hyperion 7.1.2.
    Thanks,

    Hi Siva
      Just tested in my syste with <b>AFTER JOB</b>, and it works fine for me.
      Please check that naming conventions are same when you define the first job and use in second. Also please make sure that you have removed the values from other tabs.
      General mistake that we do is, when we define two jobs immediately i.e one after other we overlook values from the previous one. Please check the same as well.

  • Problem in scheduling a Job after a Job is completed

    Hi All,
          My requirement is to run a job say <b>JOB1</b> on a per minute basis and after finishing it I need to start another job say <b>JOB2</b> automatically.
          I have configured JOB1 to start and run on every minute (i.e)in start condition <b>'periodic values'</b> is marked as one minute and configured JOB2 in such a way that it starts after JOB1 is successfully executed (i.e) in start condition of JOB2 <b>'After Job'</b> is marked as JOB1 and <b>'start status-dependant'</b> checkbox as 'X'.
          JOB1 is running successfully for every minute.
    The problem is JOB2 runs only for the first time when the JOB1 is successfully executed and doesn't start for the next minute after JOB1 is successfully executed.
    Ex :
    for Time 6:0:00 JOB1 Successful & JOB2 status Successful
    for Time 6:1:00 JOB2 successful & JOB2 doesn't start
    for Time 6:2:00 JOB2 successful & JOB2 doesn't start
              And goes on.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Problem submitting RFEBKA00 via Job

    Hi experts
      I have a requirement to create a Z program to upload 3 different files by using RFEBKA00.
      For this purpouse, I have created a Z program which creates 3 Z jobs (ZA, ZB, ZC one per file) using JOB_OPEN / SUBMIT program VIA JOB / JOB_CLOSE.
      Once every job is finished, I need to read logs using BP_JOBLOG_READ,and if there are no errors, move files to other folder.
      My questions are:
        1.- When using JOB_OPEN and SUBMIT VIA JOB name NUMBER n, as far as I know n is the number returned by jobcount parameter from JOB_OPEN and should be the same for both jobs (the Zjob created by JOB_OPEN and the one created by program RFEBKA00).When I debbug the program, it is OK, but when accessing table TBTCO sometimes there are 2 different jobcounts. Seems that jobcount is created based on sy-uzeit and sometimes there is some delay between JOB_OPEN and SUBMIT. Is there any way to ensure both jobs have the same jobcount?.
        2.- As I need to read the log for each file, and because of the fact that the job created by submitting RFEBKA00 has always the same name, if the answer to my first question is NO, how can I link each of my Z jobs with its corresponding RFEBKA00 job?.
    Many thanks in advance for your answers.
    BR,
    Carlos.

    Hi Thomas
      Thanks for your answer.
      For your first question, there is not BD key problem beacuse of my job is ZJOB and the one created when doing submit via job is RFEBKA00-EXTR.CTA.EL. (standard job) have different names.
      But job number should be the same, because I'm using JOB_OPEN (which return the job number in parameter jobcount) and SUBMIT VIA JOB .
      For the second question, and based on SAP documentation about SUBMIT , when submitting a program vía job, the submitted program is executed as a background task, which means creating a new job, so the answers is yes, the standard program schedules a new job.

  • Creating a job and scheduling a job error in OEM

    Hi, Everyone,
    I am trying to create and schedule a job thru OEM. In the the pl/sql block provide i have given my code like this
    begin
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON;
    SPOOL C:\RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.LOG APPEND;

    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL;
    SPOOL OFF;
    end;
    i have created the job and scheduled it but i am getting this error:
    Error # 6550

    could anyone pls help as this is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance

    Ah, the problem is you are confusing SQLPlus commands with PL/SQL.
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON; -- This is a SQLPlus command, not necessary here.
    SPOOL C:\RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.LOG APPEND; -- This is a SQLPlus command, in PL/SQL to write out to a file you will need to call the UTL_FILE package to open a file for writing to. Except that the file you write to will appear on the database server, not your workstation, when the scheduled job runs.
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL; -- In PL/SQL you need to SELECT columns INTO variables FROM tables. But in fact I guess you want to write the time to file using UTL_FILE again. However, you don't really need to do this, since scheduler will log the start time and run duration itself.
    EXEC PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910); -- This is the SQLPlus equivalent of the PL/SQL command:
    BEGIN
    PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    END;
    SPOOL OFF; -- This is a SQLPlus command, not necessary here.
    So to summarise, all you really need is:
    BEGIN
    PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    END;
    And the scheduled job will log the start time and duration in the database, which you can find here:
    SELECT * FROM USER_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS

  • Schedule background jobs which run only on Thursdays.

    Dear Friends,
    We are using ECC6.00. I have a requirement whereby a specific job (background) should be executed only on Thursdays. I searched in this forum but couldn't get anything related to my question. I tried the options present in the SM36 transactions (scheduling options).
    Is there any way of achieving my requirement.? Experts help required.
    Regards,
    M.M

    Hi Magesh,
    I am not sure if this would be the right approach. But if you are really sure that there is no way to do this using SM36 settings,
    you can schedule a job to execute daily, which would be a custom abap program.
    This program would check the day and if it is a thursday ,will schedule another job for the day(programatically).
    This can be a way around to solve this problem.

  • HOW TO SCHEDULE A JOB TO RUN EVERY 30 MINS WITHOUT USING SCHEDULAR?

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where i need to schedule the job to run every 30 mins for 10 am to 10 pm. I ran into problems using odi schedular. Let me tell you what i did..
    i have chosen the active mode between 10 am to 10 pm
    selected on startup/simple.
    and on the repetitions tab selected many times with 30 mins duration.
    the problem was-----
    a)it was not stopping at 10 pm but continues after 10 pm
    b)randomly picking up more times than the 1/2 hour duration.
    looking for---
    a solution that runs my scenario every 30 mins from 10 am to 10 pm without using the schedular...which i cannot trust.
    Regards
    Venkat

    Venkat,
    Here is an alternate solution that i can think of:
    create a package with the following components:
    Variable(Refresh) -> OK -> Execute StartScen(YourJob) in Asynchronous mode -> odiSleep(30 mins) -> Loop to Variable Refresh
    Variable (Refresh) -> KO -> odiSleep(30 mins) {if the refresh of the variable fails to get any value then skip the Job execution}
    The Refresh query should be
    select 1 from dual where to_char(sysdate, 'hh24mi') between  '1000' and '2200'

  • How to schedule a job which needs to run evry day 1(AM) o clk?

    Hi all,
    i want to schedule a job which needs to be run every day one o clock early morning i haven't set the job_scheduler before this. by searching thru net and prev scheduler coding i have written the above code here for running evry day early morning 1 o clock i m little bit of confused in the time
    repeat_interval=>'FREQ=DAILY;BYHOUR=01'; whether is is correct one or wrong?
    and also there are some other job is scheduled in the same time . will it create any problem of executing at the sametime or we need to change the timing of 1:15 like that?
    please advise me..

    Thanks a lot so it will be executing every night 1 o clock am i right?
    It should.But I shall say that schedule it and than only we can be sure about it.About the timing part, its correct syntatically.
    i saw that job_priority column in dba_scheduler_jobs table but dont know what it does?
    and also how can fetch this job scheduler sid,serial# i checked v$session but how to correlate this ..
    please explain me
    In schedulerjobs,there is a column ,client_id.You can map it to the sid from the V$session.I don't have a box running Oracle at the moment so I wont be test it for you.Do it and post feedback.
    what will happen if more than one job is scheduled in the sametime
    i think for this only we set the priority on the two which one needs to be first exec(depends on the high priority)
    let me know about this.
    Jobs are prioritized by two parts,within the class they are a part of and individualy.If you have two jobs in the same class than they can be make run with a different priority with the priority clause set within them.This has a number which start from 1 meaning highest priority.So if there are two jobs scheduled for the same time,you need to check which job class they fall into. If they are in the same class than you have to change the priority of them.
    I suggest you read the books,they cover all these topics in much more detail.
    Also there is a dedicated forum about Scheduler.In future for Scheduler regarded questions, you can visit there.

  • How to schedule a job for transaction CG36, incl. variant?

    Hi all,
    When you enter transaction CG36, you need to select a User Exist (EHS_DXSDB). After that you need to define a file path.
    I would like to schedule a job for transaction: CG36 > Define User Exit: EHS_DXSDB (Import Dok-X material Safety Data Sheets) > and define a path. With transaction SE93, I found program name: RC1RIMPS (program is allowed to be job scheduled), only I can't create a Variant (to define the user exit and file path, no selectionscreen), how to create a variant?
    The following programs can't be scheduled either (as they are not of type 1 or J):
    SAPLC131
    SAPLC1EO
    SAPLC3G
    Thank you in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Roy Derks

    Hello Roy
    I am sorry. To my knowledge up to ECC 6.0 Enhancement Pack 4 there is no SAP EH&S process available there you can do what you are requesting. The "problem" is that you need to "answer" the user dialog. Therefore you can not generate/prepare a variant which could be processed as a job according to my knowledge.
    Therefore in my opinion you have this option only: prepare a copy of the transaction (or only the report) using either "Z" or "Y (customer reports). Then you need to exclude some line in the code (which gives rise to the user dialog) and prepare some customer specific coding so that the resulting report can be used in such a way that a variant is possible, but you must make sure that the process later (the real upload process) is processed too in this "job" queue. IN any case: you need to check the log of the report and this must be done by an user. Therefore an automatic process does have some "risks"
    The topic of import of reports is used in most cases during a set up of EH&S, because of mergers/acustions but not in the daily work with EH&S and there I believe that SAP does not support this demand.
    With best regards
    C.B.

  • Problem with Crystal Report Job Server Destinations

    I am using Crystal Reports XI Server and I am having problems with scheduling.  I believe that the problem is that I have not enabled any destinations under the Crystal Reports Job Server.  The following is an observation list:
    -Enabled and set up all destinations for other servers, such as the Destination Server.
    -Have been able to use Infoview to directly email, inbox, and file save reports in different formats (I believe the Destination Server controls this, right?)
    -All servers are enabled in the Central Configuration Manager
    -Have been able to go into the Crystal Reports Job Server within the CMC, but I DO NOT FIND ANY destinations to enable (why is this?)
    -Have not been able to schedule an instance of any report (neither email, nor inbox, nor file, ...nothing)
    Could somebody please help me with this?  Is this a limitation to the Crystal Reports XI Server vs the Enterprise edition?  Is there something else I am missing?  I have never been able to successfully schedule a report.

    Thank you for the input, but I have not yet solved my problem.  Please allow me to provide some additional information which may give more hints:
    I have Crystal Reports XI Server R2 installed as 5 named user license (version that comes with developer)
    The following servers are enabled in CMC (which is all of them)
    -Input.DomainNameSQL
    -DomainNameSQL.cacheserver
    -DomainNameSQL.cms
    -DomainNameSQL.destinationjobserver (has all destinations enabled)
    -DomainNameSQL.eventserver
    -DomainNameSQL.ListofValuesJobServer (no destination tab)
    -DomainNameSQL.pageserver
    -DomainNameSQL.programjobserver (has all destinations enabled)
    -DomainNameSQL.RAS
    -DomainNameSQL.reportjobserver (has destinations tab, but there are no destination entries to enable! Object type is: CrystalEnterprise.Report and detail: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/UserException:1.0
    . Details: %2.'
    These are the ONLY two event IDs that appear after I schedule the report instance.  No other events occur.
    Are there any other logs that I can check?  How do I look up what event ID 45387 and 45385 are?
    Thanks!

  • Problem in scheduler - Oracle 10G

    I have 2 databases connected through a connected user link.
    Example:
    1) TEST schema in db1 and TEST schema in db2 connected through DB link LINK1 which is through connected user (Username and password not provided while creating DB link since they have same username and passwords).
    2) I create table T1 in TEST@DB1 and synonym T1 in TEST@DB2.
    3) I create a procedure P1 in TEST@DB2 which inserts into T1.
    4) I run the procedure P1 in TEST@DB2 and it successfully inserts into T1.
    5) I create a job through dbms_scheduler.create_job and schedule P1 to run every 1 minute
    6) Through the scheduler it gives an error saying "Invalid username/password" while accessing T1.
    7) Without connected user it work fine.
    Any idea anyone?

    it might be a requirement. To be able to use db_links in stored procedures ab/or scheduled db jobs you need a db_link with a defined user/pwd.
    You already found the workaround for your problem. Just set up the db link correctly. Is there a reason to do otherwise?

  • How to maintain LCM job integrity while promoting?

    Hi
    Question/Issue:
    We are trying to find out how to maintain job integrity while promoting using LCM? This is from a process security perspective that "only tested and approved items should move from QA to PROD"
    Use Case/Scenario:
    We are using BO in a three scale landscape (Windows Server). DEV, QA and PRD are all are in a same network. LCM is installed on BO DEV.
    I create a job having report objects to move from  DEV -> QA. This job can have multiple iterations ie. to incorporate changes in the DEV and move to QA for testing. Once the final version is tested in QA, only the "tested" objects should move from QA -> PRD.
    Two ways to do the above is:
    1. Copy the existing job which promoted items from DEV to QA and then change the Destination to Production. This will ensure object integrity because only initially packaged & tested objects will be present in this job (and no new untested QA objects can be added and "piggy backed" promoted to PROD)
    Problem with this approach:
    When i make a copy of the existing job, it does not allow me to change the source system but only the destination. Which means I'll essentially be moving DEV objects to Prod. However, we should not move objects from from DEV -> PRD. Ideally, LCM should allow to copy the original job and also change the source system to QA so that the original job is just "updated" to pick originally promoted DEV equivalent objects from QA).
    2. Create a New job in QA and manually choose equivalent DEV objects that were originally promoted using previous DEV -> QA Job.
    Problem with this approach:
    This breaks the "promotion process" from a security perspective because we cannot ensure "only the tested objects are promoted to production". There is a chance human error or malicious intentions that the new job can be modified to include untested items or different version items.
    So, would like to know from LCM Product Management whether:
    - Is it possible to change the source system of LCM jobs?
    - To maintain the interity, is it required to create two jobs
    DEV -> QA - Job1
    QA -> PRD - Job2 (With same objects as in Job1)
    Please suggest. This is relavant from ITIL Security Management process point of view. (Information Security Management System)
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
    @Maheshwar: I am afraid, you can't change the source only the destination when you copy a promotion job.
    I have a problem to understand the underlying issue fully. How do you - let's say - mark the reports which have been tested (successfully?) in QA? And also how do you know which haven't been tested yet? You cannot see that in the LCM nor in the CMC, am I right?
    One option would be to create a new folder in QA where you save the tested and approved reports and you only promote that folder into PROD. Ultimately this would change the folder structure between DEV and PROD but this wouldn't be a problem at all. The approved documents would have to be saved into the new folder whereby they get a new CUID. Hence from DEV to QA the report has got CUID = ABC and after testing it would be saved into the new folder and its technical name changes to CUID = DEF and you transport that one from QA to PROD.
    You would have to create a new promotion job in to accommodate that. No copy of your first promotion job would be possible in that case. Also you would need a good naming convention to separate all your promotion jobs because they are all on the same BO server.
    Does that make any sense to you?
    Happy to hear your thoughts on that!
    Cheers
    Sven

  • Schedule a Job

    Hi,
    I have followed the following <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1515">blog</a> and inside the run method I have written a code which accesses user data and calls a Remote FM using JCA.
    The same code works when I execute in Abstract portal component.
    I have scheduled the job but the FM I wanted to call is not getting triggered at all.
    Can some one give me some idea of where should I look to solve this problem.

    You will want to have a look at the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/d2/5c830ca67fd842b2e87b0c341c64cd/frameset.htm">Logging and Tracing API</a>.
    To get started, you'll want to have a static variable in your scheduler task:
    static Location _loc = Location.getLocation(<classname>.class);
    and then you can make calls in individual methods like this:
    _loc.debugT("It's running!");
    In order for this method to work, you'll have to make sure that the location for the class in question is set to output for the "Debug" level.
    So if your Java class is "com.acme.example.MyClass", then you'll want to create a new location in Visual Administrator's Log Configurator with the same name (or any "parent" of this name, like "com.acme") and then make sure the severity is set to "Debug" to see the messages.
    Also, there used to be an issue with scheduler tasks where it was necessary to browse down through the entire configuration tree in the KM config iView and click on your task to get the KM runtime to load the task. This was in older versions.
    Do you see any errors in your logs?
