Problem in starting my j2ee application on SAP

Hi,
I have done a fresh installation of SAP NetWeaver, i deployed my application's .ear file through DeployTool.
Once deployed successfully, it asks to start application, and it shows started successfully.
Now when i access my application with its URL, it says, application is currently stopped, and status of application in 'Administration' is 'STARTING', it does not change.
Any guesses, what the problem could be, also I have just installed NetWeaver, do i need to install SQLDB as well.
Earlier it was working fine, but after reinstallation nothing seems working
Please suggest....
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Thanks for reply.
I'm not able to open this link, it asks for user name and password ..??
I'm using sql server for my application, i have not intalled SQLSB yet, I think installing SAP NeTWeaver installs MaxDB...
thanks

  • How to start a J2EE application in command line?

    Dear all,
    As known to all, in Visual Administrator we can start or stop an application in Deploy node easily.
    my question is - Is there any command can we use in command line to start/stop an application like 'startapp.bat sap.com/app1' or 'java xxx.jar startApp sap.com/app1'?
    Because we want to write a script to restart a certain application in schedule, any idea?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Problem in starting the J2EE server0 process.

    Hello Experts,
    We have EP 7.0 in our landscape, and when we try to start SAP J2EE engine.It shows the server0 process only for some time and later this process stops automatically. Even the WatchDog process stops.
    Is there is any configurations we need to do- or parameters or tuning that we need to do to keep the server0 up ?
    If there are post installation steps document which talks about these issues, it would be great.
    Thanks

  • SSO to J2EE application from SAP Portal

    Hi
    I am trying to do SSO from SAP Portal to a J2EE engine which runs on SAP Web AS.
    Here are my queries
    1. When I deploy a J2EE application on Web AS , I dont get any login screen. How can I make sure that if a user wants to access this J2EE application he should get a login screen and provide his login credentials first, only then would he be able to access the J2EE application.
    2.When I am done with Part 1. If a user tries to access this J2EE application from the Portal (asuming the user Id's in Portal and J2EE application are same and both are in the same domain) , I should not get any login screen and should be able to view the J2EE application.
    3.I want to use SAP Logon tickets generated by the Portal to enable SSO.
    I have done all the necessary configurations in the J2EE server.
    1. Imported the Portal's verify.der certificate.
    2. Adjusted the login modules stack for the application accordingly.
    Can anyone please help me out with this or throw some light.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vivek
    PS - Points will be definitely rewarded

    Hi Vivek,
    Let me give you the solution for both questions differently.
    <b>Ques 1. When I deploy a J2EE application on Web AS , I dont get any login screen. How can I make sure that if a user wants to access this J2EE application he should get a login screen and provide his login credentials first, only then would he be able to access the J2EE application.</b>
    <b>Ans:</b> For doing this in the code of your J2EE application you have to write a if statement which will check if the user ID is coming from the backend or not. If yes then you display that logon page else you just pass that username which is coming from backend and displ;ay the page accordingly.
    <b>Ques 2.When I am done with Part 1. If a user tries to access this J2EE application from the Portal (asuming the user Id's in Portal and J2EE application are same and both are in the same domain) , I should not get any login screen and should be able to view the J2EE application.</b>
    <b>Ans:</b> Yes, this is what I am explaining you. Even I had also made same kind of J2EE application in which if the user is coming from the backend then he/she will look the J2EE screen else if the username is not coming then he will se the Login screen. Exactly same as what are looking for.
    <b>3.I want to use SAP Logon tickets generated by the Portal to enable SSO.</b>
    <b>Ans:</b> I have used User Mapping instead of SAP Logon ticket. Well that is also the option for SSO but personally I think User Mapping is easy and better way for implementing SSO.
    I dont know whether this will help you or not. Please let me know. I can definately help if you want to implement SSO using User Maping.
    Regards
    Pravesh
    PS: Please dont forget to reward points.

  • Problem in starting services after rebooting the sap server.

    Hi ,
    I got a problem in starting SAP services files in SAP BI system on windows 2003 server. Whenever I reboot the system all sap services failed to start throw a message u201CCould not start SAPBDJ_00 service on local computer. Error 1069: The service did not start due to login failure".
    This is the common message for every sap service SAP<SID>_00,SAPOSCOLL,SAPCMSr.01,SAPSMD_98. Until unless I maintain   ./SAPservice<SID> password externally by going through service.msc and g to properties of particular service and g to logon option to maintain password manually to fix this.
    ./SAPService<SID> user is no locked and password maintained properly also I tried to change the service user to SIDADM user and restarted the server however getting the same problem.
    Could not find any fixes in internet so please help me to fix this issue.
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi Sunil,
    we are in midde of BI implementation. last week we built the DEv box and Updated kernel and suport packs and restarted then i observerved this issue. I have already tried to change the SIDADm user but intially after changing the user service will start and once you restart the server then the issues appear again.
    The password which i am using was the one set during the installation.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Vinod

  • Starting local J2EE engine from SAP MMC

    I am trying to start my local J2EE engine using SAP MMC.  However, when I select the start option, the DB no longer starts automatically.  I can manually start the DB, select start, and the engine will start.   Previously, I could select start and everything would just come up.
    Can anyone tell me where the disconnect is occuring?

    Hi,
    If you have an add-in installation then you can try to stop the java system by stopping the java dispacther by stopping the j2ee process.You can just try restarting the java system using SMICM.You can check whether the data base services are set to auto start or need a manual start.
    Reward points if helpfull.
    Regards,
    Vamshi.

  • Problem of start up J2EE server

    Recently, I installed the J2SE1.5.0. Unfortunately, I cannot start my J2EE server, and get an error message as following:
    Starting Domain domain1, please wait.
    Log redirected to C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\logs\server.log.
    Provider org.apache.crimson.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl not found
    Press any key to continue . . .
    Is there anyone can help me? Than you.

    This is a known issue with J2EE 1.4 Application Server and J2SE 1.5 - this is corresponding bug report:
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4967167.html
    Fix will become available in upcoming Application Server 8 PE release. In the meantime, you should reinstall J2EE 1.4 on this system in such a way that it uses J2SE 1.4.2 as its J2SE installation.

    I restarted the machine. And then suddenly it stopped working. It's failing to connect. What may be the issue and hoe can I solve it?
    Thanks.
    You have to start isqlplus and dbcontrol as
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/./isqlplusctl start
    export ORACLE_SID=<YOUR_DB>
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/./emctl start dbconsole

  • Problem starting CATS Notebook application with SAP MI

    Hi All,
    I synchronized my Mobile Infrastructure on my notebook with the backend server. I am able to download the correct application (CATS_notebook) but I'm not able to start this application. It redirects to localhost:4444.... and I receive a 404 (file not found).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    About the only thing I can think of offhand is that the application name as specified in the code may not be the same as the application name thats been uploaded to the webconsole.
    Also stop and restart your MI Client engine on your laptop and then log in again and try to open the app.  I'm not familiar with that application so I can't be of any help with that.
    I hope that helps.

    I still have this problem when I try to login to the EM:

  • Problem in starting Custom java application through opmnctl

    Here is the details of the problem that I am facing.
    I hava one self-executable jar file which I want to run each time the application server will start.
    I have taken this idea after getting info from iasdocs.us.oracloe.com.
    The name of the jar file is ClusterServer.jar.
    I have put it in the ompn/lib folder and edited the opmn.xml file with the following entry.
    <module path="ORACLE_HOME/opmn/lib/libopmncustom">
    <module-id id="CUSTOM" />
    </module>
    <ias-component id="Custom">
    <process-type id="Custom" module-id="CUSTOM">
    <process-set id="Custom" numprocs="1">
    <module-data>
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="start-executable" value="- Djava.security.policy=/home/oracleas/VSM/java.policy /home/oracleas/VSM/ClusterServer.jar"/>
    </category>
    </module-data>
    </process-set>
    </process-type>
    </ias-component>
    When I am starting the opmnctl startall , I can see the process as down.
    Can anybody help me if I am doing anything wrong.
    Thanks in advance
    Akshaya

    I don't have experinece with custom components in iAS but when you are starting this component via opmnctl then look at $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/log directory for reason of failure during starting that component.

  • Problem with starting Crystal Report document from SAP Gui

    Dear all,
    in Crystal Reports I created my first report (based on a BW query), which is executed successfully, when I run it directly from CR or from Infoview. The report is stored directly in BW and has been published successfulyl to BOE.
    If I try to run it native from the SAP Gui, the following steps happen:
    Internet Explorer is started with the following link:
    http://dtcmbbwp01.ctc.ch.rcc:1080/sap/bw/ce_url?(ce_protcl):(DS)(ce_server)/(ce_path_pr)/viewreport.csp(Q)bw_id=4I4B2HQG8KK2ICFPONVIG5D9Q&sap_sysid=(sysid)&sap_client=010&language=EN&sap-client=010
    this link is transcoded to the following:
    http://dtcmbbwp01.ctc.ch.rcc:1080/sap/bw/=ce_protcl)%3a//MONHAMBO020.world.mon:8080%2fSAP%2fviewreport.csp(Q&sap_sysid=BWP&sap_client=010&language=EN&sap-client=010&sap-language=EN&cmsname=MONHAMBO020.world.mon
    (I already entered /CRYSTAL/CL_BW_HTTP_HANDLER handler in the ce_url service)
    and afterwards I get an error 404 -> corresponding service not available
    which is obvious, as a service =ce_protcl is not existing at alkl.
    If I then execute my CR document again from SAPGui (without closing the IE), the standard BOE login page for the infoview is displayed, but I get an error:
    Account information not recognized: The credentials passed to secSAPR3 [] are invalid. Use the following format: sid~clnt/user
    I can logon with my BW credentials, and afterwards I can see my CR document.
    Any idea, what went wrong?
    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Dear Ingo,
    the basic installation of all BOE components was done by the SAP installation service and I checked several times your blog(s) and the corresponding parts on the BOE server and in BW. From my point of view we did all necessary configuration steps on BOE and BW (/CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN) which are necessary to setup the BOE software and the connections.
    I checked again the HTTP handler and it still says:  /CRYSTAL/CL_BW_HTTP_HANDLER
    I stopped and restarted the service, but with no effect at all -> I do not think that I need a restart of the server, right?
    My user is as well existing on the BOE server and I can logon to the BOE with my SAP credentials.
    I guess as well that the key to the success is the HTTP handler. The first link I provided is the link that is shown in IE, before I logged on to the BW server and I think this is correct, as the transcodification is done after(!) I logged on to the BW server.
    A part of the transcodification is as well working, as I can see the replacement of my ce_server, sysid, etc. But it seems to me that the first part of the string is crap:
    http://dtcmbbwp01.ctc.ch.rcc:1080/sap/bw/=ce_protcl)%3a
    Any further ideas?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Andreas
