Problem in substitute

Hi all,
I am facing one problem in my workflow. Please help me.
If user substitute another user (user on the higher hierarchy) document is sending to substituted user twice for approval. ( 1 for user substitue him, another is at his level). That case user dont want twice. He needs once only.
If the user is defferent (substitute and next approve person) client wants to send two persons (one by one - normal procedure).
This case what i have to do. Give some sol

This is more of a question at business process level.
Short answer, don't susbstitute your manager if he/she doesn't want to approve things twice.
Another solution could be to check in your workflow if the person who previously executed the workitem is the same as the next step for approval, you can assume that it was the manager and therefor automatically approver the workitem and go to the next level.
But before you do this ask the business how many times this situation occurs, only if it s on a regular basis you should change the workflow.

Facing a Problem in Substitute a User in PRD system

Dear All,
I am facing a problem in User substitution in Business Workplace(SBWP), the following problem is occurring for four different user and they are falling under Three different categories in the same system.
Problem:
User_1 is taken leave for two days from 05-May to 06-May, then substitute for User_1 is assigned to User_2 for these two days, but the problem is after two days also the User_2 receiving the emails. I cross verified the table 'HRUS_D2' also, the date matches 05-May to 06-May for user 'USER_1'.
Category 1:
In PA000-STAT2 Field for the User 'USER_1', It is showing as Inactive.
Category 2:
In PA000-STAT2 Field for the User 'USER_1', It is showing that the User is currently active but after 31-May, the User Withdrawn the Job.
Category 3:
In PA000-STAT2 Field for the User 'USER_1', It is showing that the user is currently active.
All the above problem is occurring in Production system.

CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE problems

Hi all,
i have a problem with BP creation using bapi CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE: in a custom bapi, i use CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE bapi to create a BP and everything goes well !
but, in following scenario i have a problem:
1. substitute old BP's BUT000-BPEXT value with a costantvalue (DEL_(BUT000-BPEXT)_'n') by bapi 'BAPI_BUPA_CENTRAL_CHANGE';
2. delete all bp's addresses by bapi 'BUPA_ADDRESS_REMOVE';
3. make a logical deletion of old BP
BP using 'BAPI_BUPA_CENTRAL_CHANGE';
4. try to create a new BP with bapi CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE where BPEXT value is old BP's BPEXT value: bapi's return table returns an error messages:
bpext value is just used for another BP !
and BP value is my old BP value !
This happens also if i make a commit by bapi 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT' after deletion of old BP !

- If you change the fields in online, other fields are determined in the background as well which trigger the send to R/3: you can verify this by checking the generated bdocs to see whether they contain additional changes.
- What happens when you enter additional changes in the XIF-function (like BP general data)? Is this data sent to R/3 ? And if it is, is the sales organization data send along with it or not?

Preview shows some text incorrectly in pdfs

I have recently had problems viewing pdfs in Preview. This applies to new pdfs that I have downloaded as well as old ones that were already on my computer. I am a graduate student in biology, so I download and read many scientific articles as pdfs on my 2.4 GHz MacBook.
I think the problem may have started when I did the 10.5.6 system update.
Here's the problem:
Preview substitutes incorrect letters or symbols for some letter combinations. It seems to have particular trouble with the letter 'f' with other letters. For example in one pdf...
"field" becomes "Weld"
"difficulties" becomes "diYiculties"
"configuration" becomes "conWguration"
"flightless" becomes "Xightless"
"flat" becomes "Xat"
"effective" becomes "eVective"
In another pdf...
"flow" becomes "£ow"
"floral" becomes "£oral"
"field" becomes " ¢eld"
These errors were also present when it printed.
And finally in another...
"field" becomes "Æeld"
"influence" becomes "inØuence"
"fig" becomes "Æg"
This happens if I view the pdf in Safari using Preview or in Preview itself (Version 4.1 (469.4)). Suggestions?

sounds like a font problem. open Font Book and validate all fonts and resolve duplicates. also, clear Font caches using a3rd party app like Font Finagler or Onyx.

Workflow applet in approval preview (shopping cart) changed in SRM 5.0

Hi,
we have upgrade from EBP 3.0 to SRM 5.0.
The approval preview in the shopping cart transactions (f.e. BBPSC03) now shows only the approval state (in grahpic mode), not the step description from the workflow definition.
In EBP 3.0 was showed the step description.
How can we change the applet output ?

Deploying on a standalone OC4J everything works.
Is there some configuration to add to the web.xml file or somewhere else? I tried also on Tomcat 4.0.3 with same results.
I added this lines in web.xml to avoid the problems descripted in thread BC4J entity objects vs EJB2.0 entity beans

I looked better at my page and it has been modified from that produced by the wizard. In fact, the problem arises substituting a DataTable tag with a RowsetIterate in which I put a DataRecord.

Where can I download the working jdbc for JDev-10.1.2?

Hi! I've read a lot on this forum about the bug in JDev-10.1.2 - there are errors ora-00604 and ora-12705 in establishing connection with Oracle DB by using own jdbc. The solution of this problem is substituting jdbc from previous release JDev, for example, JDev-9.0.4. Does anybody know where I can get ONLY correct jdbc-drivers from JDev-9.0.4 without downloading ALL release? This driver is not very big (I think about 4-5 MB) while the whole release is about 130 MB.

I've got a sad news - the latest jdbc (from Oracle DB 10.2.0.1.0) didn' fit, the error remained. Moreover, the earlier established connection (in 'Connection navigator') was broken - it failed 'Test' with the sooner errors. I have Oracle 9iR2 DB for Linux FC3, the kernel is 2.6.9, I don't use kde and don't remember the version of gnome, it's from the distributive. Having replaced JDev's jdbc driver by Oracle's one from DB I obtained the passing test connection between JDev and Oracle DB with success. But in ADF-applications there were the well-known errors - ora-00604 and ora-12705. My applications on OS Windows which are written with C# are working with Oracle 9iR2 on Linux without any problem. So the matter is in JDev.

Any way I've got a decision - to download previous release JDev and take jdbc from there. :-/

N Step Approval BADI - BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI

We have implemented this BADI and are having problems with the agent determination.
When creating and ordering the cart the approval preview shows the correct approval agents.
When clicking the 'Agents' button within the workflow log via SWI1, the message 'No selected agents' (Message no. WL795) is shown.
The buffers have been refreshed via SWU_OBUF and the indexes and organisational environment have been refreshed.
Has anyone had this problem before, and if so what steps did you have to undertake to cure it ?

Removing before/after spacing on h tags

I have had h1 and h2 tags working fine (that is, with space removed before and after the tags), using this code:
h2 {color: #000000; padding:0px; margin:0px; font-family: century gothic; font-weight:normal; font-size: 17px;}
h1 {color: #FF0000; padding:0px; margin:0px; font-family: century gothic; font-weight:normal; font-size: 20px;}
But when I added an h3 tag using the same code:
h3 {color: #FF0000; padding:0px; margin:0px; font-family: century gothic; font-weight:normal; font-size: 14px;}
normal H tag spacing re-appeared after the h3 tag.
Code for the table following the h3 tag is as follows (in case this is somehow throwing things off):

Only other change I made to coding since the h1 and 2 tags were working without spacing between them was to add css coding to address a border issue, now resolved:

Can't see how the code in the table following the h tags or the css coding addition effects the h3 spac issue (if I delete both codes I still have the h3 space problem).
Substituting 'display:inline;' coding for 'padding:0px; margin:0px;' doesn't make any difference either.

I changed the code for all the font names which included spaces as you advised (see below). This includes the "Times New Roman", font which is included as you see with other fonts in a given span class. This multi-font nomenclature was set by someone who initially developed our site many years ago. Is this multi-font span declaration legit and executed correctly: {font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; ...} ?

If numbers are null

Hi Friends,
We are migrating our forms application from 6i to 10g and we have some issues here.The one is ,if numbers are null we have handled that as mentioned below
IF NVL(l_numb1,' ') = NVL(l_numb2,' ')

This works fine in 6i , when migrated to 10g it shows error.
But when both the values are VARCHAR2 then no problem.
So I need to handle this in the entire application.I think the only problem
is substituting space(' ') for NUMBER variables.
Do I have any other alternative for this.
Note : It should work for both VARHCAR2 and NUMBER variables.

MB Serial Slave Demon & Box dialog

Hi,
I didn't get an answer on the french forum. I try here.
I have a problem with the "MB Serial Slave Demon vi" (NI MODBUS). In fact, when I open a dialog box (file or message) in a loop parallel to "MB Serial Slave Demon.vi", the "MB Serial Slave Demon.vi"stop communication with the Master (read / write registers). The problem is that the ExecVI method (sorry i have french version) in "MB Serial Call Wait on Query.vi" (see picture below) does not give the hand until the dialog box is displayed. Why?:
Attached "MB Serial Example Slave.vi" example modified, i added in the event structure an Add button to see the problem. This example can be tested with "MB Serial Exemple Master.vi".
Any idea?

I don't understand why the method does not give the hand. But, to solve the problem, I substituted "MB Serial Call Wait on Query.vi" by "MB Serial Wait on Query.vi".

Which Mac Mini Configuration Recommended for Leopard??

I'm about to purchase a new Mini to replace my (beautiful!) G4 Cubes, and would appreciate any comments/recommendations on which configuration to order. I'm planning to get the upgraded 2GB of memory (more is always better!, and my guess would be that the 2.0 GHz processor with a 120 GB HD + SuperDrive should be a nice ticket - or would you recommend a bigger HD? (I don't do intensive graphics or any gaming, but I want to be able to run OS X and MS Windows simultaneously (with Parallels?).
Also... I currently have 2 G4 Cubes networked to run on a single DSL service using a FriendlyNet Ethernet Hub and 2Wire modem. Any problems simply substituting the Mac Mini for one of the Cubes in this network?
Final question, please: With Leopard plus Parallels on the new Mini, what is the minimum Microsoft package I would need to buy in order to open and work with basic Excel, PPS, and Word documents?
With your comments/recommendations, I'm ready to add my contribution to Apple's gross and net income for the current quarter!!..... Thanks!... CaptDenny

The requirements for Leopard are sufficiently low that even an old Mac mini should run it well, let alone one of the new Core 2 Duo models. As such, the 2.0 model with 2Gb RAM should be more than adequate. Leopard's only notably heavier demand is drive space, now requiring close to 10Gb. Clearly the 120Gb drive standard in the 2.0 model would be adequate to that task, plus allow for use of Windows also. As such, a larger internal drive wouldn't really be recommended, though you may wish to consider adding a good sized external, preferably a firewire connected drive, for extra storage and backup.
Where running Windows is concerned, Leopard comes with BootCamp, so you could use that as opposed to Parallels. The downside is that while BootCamp is free, it doesn't permit the running of MacOS and Windows side by side. At boot, you have to select one or the other. If that meets your needs, then it's a better bet in many ways, since it allows the entire system, memory and processor to be dedicated to whichever OS you need at any given time, rather than shared.
On the other hand, if you need or want to run both MacOS and Windows simultaneously, and switch between them, Parallels is the option that would allow that, though both MacOS and Windows will suffer in terms of absolute performance since RAM and CPU are shared between them.
You should have no problem substituting a new mini into your home network using the same setup as you presently have on the soon to be retired Cube.
To run Excel, PowerPoint and Word, you'll need a copy of MS Office. The current version for Mac is still 2004, which is not Intel native. The updated version to closely match MS Office 2007 for Windows will not be out for Mac until 2008. If you buy a copy of MS Office 2004 for Mac however, you'll get an upgrade to the new version when it is released. Upgrading at that point would be advised since while the current version is not Intel native, the new version due is. If you are a student or teacher, you will qualify for the Academic version at around $150, otherwise it's a little expensive $400 list price.

The message that you received is a sign that you need to delete the backup again. I copied this from a thread that I posted in yesterday and the OP was able to use the instructions to solve the problem.
Substitute PC anywhere that you see a reference to a Mac.
+This is copied form another thread. Here is the thread. The instructions in parenthesis are my instructions. The point is that you have to delete your backup.

Launch iTunes with your iPad connected to your Mac. Make sure the iPad is listed under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window.
From your iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Devices tab.
If there is more then one backup available, delete all but one. (If you only have one backup delete it.)
Restart your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Restart your Mac.
Try to sync now.
If that doesn't work, try deleting the iPod Photo Cache Folder. Instructions can be found here.
