Problem in tracing session using ORADEBUG utility?
I want to trace a session using oradebug utility.what i have done is
SQL>oradebug setospid 25807
SQL> oradebug set ospid 27441
unknown command beginning "oradebug s..." - rest of line ignored.
How i can race another session using oradebug utility.

The correct syntax is
oradebug setospid <Unix pid>
You can 'attach' to one process only.
You have two oradebug setospid commands issued, the latter one is wrong, but wouldn't have worked anyway.
The usual method to trace a session is
oradebug setospid ...
oradebug event 10046 trace name context forever, level 12
This should work.
Note you can accomplish the same using dbms_system.set_ev

The rep felt is was a problem with the two older USB 2.0 drives compatablility with the Retina Macbook Pro's USB 3.0. He kindly offered to send me a Compatable USB 3.0 Drive, but could not offer a solution.
FYI, I tried using different cords and both USB 3.0 ports on my Retina MacBook Pro and both are self powered.

Problem in Creating a jar file using java.util.jar and deploying in jboss 4

I am facing this peculiar problem. I am creating a jar file programmatically using java.util.jar api. The jar file is created but Jboss AS is unable to deploy this jar file. I have also tested that my created jar file contains the same files. When I create a jar file from the command using jar -cvf command, Jboss is able to deploy. I am sending the code , please review it and let me know the problem. I badly require your help. I am unable to proceeed in this regard. Please help me.

I have gone through your code and the problem is that when you create jar it takes a complete path address (which is called using getAbsolutePath ) (when you extract you see the path; C:\..\...\..\ )
You need to truncate this complete path and take only the path address where your files are stored and the problem must be solved. -
Time machine backups are failing. I've followed the instructions I found on the Time Machine troubleshooting page (http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html) but have gotten to where I don't know what to do next.
Sequence of events:
The main error message is always:
An error occurred while copying files. The problem could be temporary. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk.
Yesterday, I opened Disk Utility and verified the disk. Got this error:
Error: This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer, holding down the Command key and the R key until you see the Apple logo. When the OS X Utilities window appears, choose Disk Utility.
I ran Disk Utility and repaired the hard drive. Then I manually started the backup before going to bed, figuring it was going to take a long time to run. When I got up this morning, the backup had failed with the same "could be temporary" error. I checked the log, which says:

TeryYou have repaired your boot drive (which is good) but have you repaired your time machine drive? I don't own a Time Capsule so I don't know if disk utility can operate on it. If it can, you should repair it as well. You may need to erase it and start a new backup. That happens to time machine volumes from time to time and is why people who are serious about their data never rely on a single source of backup.

I recently starting receiving the error message "Time Machine couldn't complete the backup to... An erro occurred while copying files. The problem may be temporary. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk. I have had no problems backing up my MacBook Pro 2011 to my Western Digital My Book Live through a Linksys EA4500 router until recently. I've made no major changes. I've ran a diagnosis on my back up drive with no problems. The Time Machine back up starts, but about after about 5 to 10 minutes I get the error message. I can see the shared drive in Finder. The light on the drive blinks while it starts the back up. I can see the shared folders on the networked drive. The backup process starts but for some reason it just stops. Can anyone help?
You can't repair a network volume in Disk Utility.
Backing up to a third-party NAS with Time Machine is risky, and unacceptably risky if it's your only backup. I know this isn't the answer you want, and I also know that the manufacturer says the device will work with Time Machine, and that it usually seems to work. Except when you try to restore, and find that you can't.
If you want network backup with Time Machine, use as the destination either an Apple Time Capsule or an external hard drive connected to another Mac or to an 802.11ac AirPort base station. Only the 802.11ac base stations support Time Machine, not any older model.
If you're determined to keep using the NAS for backup, your only recourse for any problems that result is to the manufacturer (which will blame Apple.) -

Second - DSA is a Digital Signature Algorithm. The error tells you exactly what the problem is - DSA is not an encryption algorithm, and can't be used as one.

Problems erasing window bootcamp partion using Disk Utility
Hi guys, ive removed my windows partion before in the past without any hiccups, but this time i seem to have run into some problems.
If i go into boot camp assistant, it wont let me proceed beyond the start menu. When i click continue it says
"The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.
Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again."
So i went into Disk utility to erase the Windows partion, only now i get this message
"Volume Erase failed
Volume Erase failed with the error:
MediaKit reports checksum operation failure."
I dont have any other programs such as diskwarrior, and in the past Disk utilitiy served me well. Im just wondering whats going on here, and if anyone is able to help fix this problem? If i go into the partion tab i see my two partions under the Volume scheme... but i cant do anything as it is all greyed out. Problem calling SOA Gateway Webserivce using JPub Utility.

Using Integrated SOA gateway, we have exposed the following PL/SQL API 'WSH_DELIVERY_DETAILS_PUB' as a webservice.
And using JPublisher we have developed java Proxy classes and PL/SQL Wrappers and loaded them into Database. Now we are tring to execute a call to the following end point 'UPDATE_SHIPPING_ATTRIBUTES'

Not sure what the problem could be. Could you please give us some pointers to solve the issue.
Also as an alternative, can i use UTL_DBWS utility to submit a SOAP request. I have seen some examples that use UTL_DBWS for executing call to webservices, but none of them include any samples on submiting a SOAP request. Can i get any samples on submitting SOAP request through UTL_DBWS.

Multi-Session CD Burning using Disk Utility v 11.1
I am trying to burn multi-session disk images (*.dmg) to a DVD-RW disc. I am using the Disk Utility which is supposed to do this. You first create a disk image using the utility, then you burn each one to the disk using its Burn tool function. I have followed all the Help directions.
The issue is that you need to check the box "Leave disc appendable" so that multiple sessions can be burned. When I try this, this check box feature is grayed out and I can't enable it.
I have repaired the permissions and the disk, this does not fix the issue.
Any help would be appreciated...It appears that multisession DVD's are not supported properly through DIsk Utility.

However with a DVD-RW you can erase the disk and reuse it with Disk Utility. Just click on your DVD drive in the left hand panel of Disk Utility and follow the instructions.

Problems burning disks using Disk Utility

I am trying to burn an disk image onto multiple DVD's. I manage to sucessfully burn to DVD twice on the third burn I get a message telling me that disk verfication is not complete. I am wasting a lot of discs here.
I don't seem to be able to reduce the burn speed (it is set at x4) I have tried turning the mac off and on and it still happens. I had similar problems in iDVD hence why I am using Disk Utility.

Problems transferring Backups to new External HD using Disk Utility restore
I'm having issues using Disk Utility to transfer my backups to a new disk.
I am transferring data from a 250GB external harddrive to a new completely zero'ed 1TB Iomega external harddrive. Both Harddrives are connected via USB. On my old 250GB HD i have a few folders containing about 100GB of data (raw video footage) that are not in the "Backups.backupdb" folder.
I follow the tutorial in item 18 of the FAQS on this forum exactly (except i didnt check erase destination) but i get an error message each time after about 3 minutes:
"Could not restore - Operation not permitted"

I can see from this that it is having issues with a file in the destination:
/Volumes/Untitled/Backups.backupdb/Mac/2009-04-15-054708/Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional/Acrobat Distiller 7.0.app/Contents/Frameworks/AdobeACE.framework/AdobeACE
This file is in the first Backup i ever made and all subsequent backups. So i went and looked at this backup through the time machine application and deleted this file from the backup and all subsequent backups. However when i then did the restore again i got the same error message and when i looked at the log it was identical except it had issues with a different "AdobeACE.framework" file from another Adobe CS3 program. I dont want to go through and delete all these types of CS3 files from my backups for obvious reasons, i would much rather understand what the issue is and know whether there is a way round it.
It may well be simply because i have not checked the "erase destination" box before restoring but somehow i doubt this is the issue as the new 1TB HD has already been "zero'ed" as explained earlier.
Any help would be appreciated guys.check the box to erase destination. the fact that you zeroed it out makes no difference. this is a known issue and checking that box was recommended for a reason.

I am trying to use disk utility to verify/repair my hard disk. Every time I choose either verify or repair permissions, it starts a progress bar that says "less than one minute" but then nothing happens for much longer than a minute. I tried clicking on "verify disk" and it froze and I had to restart (what is the difference between verifying the disk and verifying the permissions? Also, is it better to choose 111.8 GB Hitachi whatever, or to choose Macintosh HD as the volume to repair? I've tried both.)

So far, what you are seeing is normal behavior. Repair Permissions has long had a "wonky" progress bar. As long as it does complete its task, it is working correctly. This routine consults a database of proper permissions for critical system files and folders (and the same for a few applications), then compares this database to the permissions on your startup volume. If it finds any discrepancies, it attempts to "repair" them.
"Verify Disk," on the other hand, scans the directory structure on whatever device or volume is selected in the "source list" to the left, looking for disk errors. This routine pretty much "takes over" access to the drive in question, and precludes most other activities while it is running. You are likely to see the spinning "SBOD" during this time. It does not mean that your computer is "hanging," but rather that it is very busy doing what you have told it to do. This is one of the very few things that makes multi-tasking nearly impossible, so just wait for it to finish (it will usually take only a minute or so, if you let it).
If disk errors are reported, you must boot to your Leopard Install disk to actually make any repairs. When the installer loads, you choose a language then open Disk Utility from the "Utilities" menu. From there, you can use Disk Utility just as you would when you are booted normally, but you have the additional option to make repairs. Quitting Disk Utility, then the Installer, will restart your Mac normally.
In order to use "Repair Disk Permissions," you must have your startup volume selected ("Macintosh HD"). You can use "Verify Disk" on either a volume or a "device." When you have a volume selected, the routine only looks at the directory structure for that volume, but when you have a device selected, it also checks the "partition map" that is in place on the device.
Non-startup volumes, like a secondary partition (volume) on your internal hard drive or an external drive/volume, can be repaired without booting to the Leopard Install disk.
