I am new to netbens 6.1 JSF application . while learning through tutorial I have encountered the following line but it is not given how to add it.I am not able to understand how to add "answer" property please tell me the process how to add this "answer property".

As the exception stack clearly mentions that the endpoint is moved, it is up to the users to make use of any other webservice.trace says link is moved i know.

Problem with tutorial; "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using "

I've got a rather new installation of Vista Business x64 on my developer rig, and last week I installed the new JDeveloper 11g version. The installation was all-inclusive, no customization on my end.
In addition I've got a test installation of an Oracle DB 11gR1 on an available server here.
To familiarize myself with the new JDeveloper I decided to spend some time with the JDeveloper 11g tutorials found here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/index.html.
I've started twice on the second tutorial, "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces", and find myself repeatedly stuck at step 19 in section "Creating the Data Model and Testing it".
It seems impossible to deploy the application to the default application server. The server starts fine on its own, I can access it via the admin console on port 7001 and it looks good. However, when I try to run the HRFacadeBean funny things are happening, symptomized by the following error messages seen in the IDE log-area:

I'm not that familiar with these things but it seems to me that there is an issue with port numbers here. The application seems to expect a app.server service at port 7101, but does'nt find one.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated?

It fails in a similar way.
What I did was; create a simle 'Hello World' html file, saving it with the jsp extension. In Jdev11g i made a new application and an emtpy project, then loaded the jsp file and made it the default run-target. This compiles nicely.
When running the project it first attempts to start the WebLogicServer (WLS). After a few minutes it is started as seen in the "Running: DefaultServer" pane:

The WLS is still running though as I can still access its adm console.
To me it seems that it is attempting to start a separate instance of the WLS for each run attempt, but then I could be wrong.....:(
Later I'll try to change the default WLS port from 7001 to 7101 as suggested in another port here.
I must admit that I'm a bit surprised that the JDev11g doesn't work fine at this very simple level when performing a default install.

Problem with jMaki + NetBeans 6 Visual WebPack

I need some jMaki components in a VWP project. I've found some tutorials on google but any of them worked with NetBeans 6.
Has anyone got this working?

Problems with tutorial: Building an Application

Hi,
I made the step by step tutorial (Building an Application Part 1: Application Objects,
http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/new2java/divelog/part1/page8.jsp)
There is a problem. If I compile the DiveLog.java Code as it calls on page 8 at the end of Part 1. Errormessages appears as follows:
DiveLog.java cannot resolve symbol
symbol: class Diver
location: divelog.DiveLog new Diver()
The same messages appear for the classes: Dives,Welcome,Statistics,WebSite and Resources.
I have followed the steps on page 7, but it didn't work.
I mean, I wrote the classes Diver.java, Dives.java and so on. Then I saved them in the divelog directory (and compiled them).
Has somebody an idea?
(I use a Win 98 platform)

i think it is because you wrote wrong commands.
the right is :
javac -classpath h:\ DiveLog.java
i have put the DiveLog.java in h:\divelog\DiveLog.java

Problem in build netbean projects with jaxb

Hi, I encounter the problem which I dont' know if it is due to my pc memory insufficient or other reason.
In my netbean projects, I add a Jaxb binding with a local xsd file, but when I try to clean and build the project, each time I have to wait for around 25 minutes, i think it is not make sense to build in such a time. As if I want to debug/run the project each time, it is impossible for me to wait like this.
However, I have to use the xml file in that way, if I can't solve this problem, i have to write / use other method to "eat" the xml file for myself.
Any suggestion or help is appreciated, thx.....

My problem is whenever i do a little modification in the code, even if i just do some chanes & undo it then also i need to rebuild the application.
There is a single project in my workshop which is pretty huge.As per your reply i am getting only two parts to check & uncheck i.e. If the project is "A" then i am getting A.work & project:A in the build box.
The most important question: Do i need to shut down the server each time i make a small change?Even i have tried this by restarting the server,but every time i get the message that "the Controller.jpf could not compile."
Any idea is most welcome.

Problems migrating from Netbeans 4.0 to Netbeans 4.1

Hello,
I've got a few small java servlets which were originally compiled using Netbeans 4.0 and JDK 5 update 2. Tonight I upgraded to the latest java bundle which includes JDK 1.5.0_03 and Netbeans 4.1.
In order to get servlets to compile properly under nb4.0, I needed to go into the project properties, click on Libraries, then add the Servlet 2.3 Library to my compile-time libraries list. This API was automatically installed as part of the nb4.0 installation.
When I started Netbeans 4.1 for the first time, it asked me if I wanted to import my old nb4.0 settings, and I clicked OK. The IDE then displayed all of my existing projects.
However, I'm getting a reference error on my servlet classes. When I went into the project properties to add Servlet 2.3 as a compile-time library, the IDE did not have it listed as an option. I searched and found relevant JAR files in the Netbeans/enterprise1/modules/autoload/ folder, but none of the servlet APIs appear to be available in the nb4.1 IDE.
Does nb4.1 no longer install the Servlet APIs, and if that is the case, can someone instruct me as to the correct procedures for setting up the nb4.1 IDE correctly? Otherwise, can someone tell how to get nb4.1 to recognize that those APIs are already out there?

I was doing those steps exactly. The problem seems to be the servlet-api-23.jar file that came with netbeans 4.1. It was acting kinda flakey.
I went to the Sun Website and downloaded the APIs I needed (zip files) and pointed the IDE to those files instead. Problem solved.

Problem running outside netbeans

Part of my application uses the poi project to extract text from a word doc file, this works fine when running from within netbeans, but as soon as i run it from outside, like from the command line, it crashes. I was wondering if anyone knew any common problems it could be for me to try as i can't seem to find the issue here....

No i dont think that's my problem, classpath contains all relevant jars etc, I've had it up and running fine previously but now when it runs it basically just freezes my computer and needs to be closed from the task manager(sorry don't know the proper term hence my general 'crash' description), so I'm not getting any clues from error messages and the like, but being a bit inexperienced I just wondered if there were any other obvious problems that would cause this that i can look at

JDeveloper - problems with Tutorial for Java EE Developers

Hi,
I am trying to start learning Oracle J2EE technologies, and I am using the Oracle "Tutorial for Java EE Developers (10.1.3.1.0)" listed in the Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.3) page: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/how_to/index.html.
I am having problems in chapter 2, at the creating EJB 3.0 Persistence Entities stage, when using the Create Entities from Tables Wizard. Basically, when I select all the tables from the SRDEMO schema and attempt to create the Java classes, only the first table objects are created - ExpertiseAreas.java and ExpertiseAreasPK.java. I do not get any error messages, so I am not sure why the other table objects are not created.
If I then use the Wizard to select tables individually, the objects are created. However, they appear to be missing some details - specifically the @OneToMany annotation.
Has anyone encountered this same issue, or are there any known issues with this tutorial.
I am using version 10.1.3.4 of JDeveloper, on a 10g (10.2) XE database. I installed the version of JDeveloper without JDK included. I have a Sun Java EE 5 SDK Udate 5 (JDK 6u7) install of JDK.

Problem with tutorial:Creating a dynamic playlist for streaming flash video

hi, anyone tried the tutorial: creating a dynamic playlist
for streaming flash video?
i follow the instruction exactly as stated in the tutorial
and test the fla file, it worked perfectly well when i open the swf
using the macromedia flash 8. Everything look fine. Nothing is
changed except the url is changed to "rtmp://localhost/videosource"
in the xml file.
after i publish the file using the setting: access network
only, i try to open the swf and html file from the folder, the
thumbnail did not appear and there is no way i can click on any
videos. What i see is only the list, and there is no response from
the flash media server 2. All the files is in the same folder.
Anyone please help with this problem???? thanks

authoring tool and your users will not.

to do final
debugging.
In this regard you may need to debug the movie while running
in real time
mode in a web browser with
http:// A technique to trace I suggested is to
create a temporary TextField perhaps named out_txt and send
trace message to
it such as out_txt.text += "My Trace Expression".

If part of a layer seems hidden behind another layer you may have to move it up in the layers panel or change the blend mode. In the layers panel you can move the position of the layers by dragging and dropping them into position. If you post a screenshot of your layers panel someone may spot the problem you are having.

64 bit is the way forward. In 32 bit only around 4GB of your 12GB memory will be used.
The switch, from 64bit to 32bit, will depend on your licence. I think that in some countries the W7 retail pack includes both. Some however do not. For example, because I have children in full time education, I am eligible for the student discount scheme in Britain (around £60 / $95 for W7 Ultimate and £35 / $55 for Office 2007 Enterprise) - however the W7 disk contains only the 64-bit version
Loads of people on this forum are having dreadful troubles with PRE8. While some may be because they have W7-64 there are just as many with problems on W7-32 as well. I suggest you scan the forums to see what troubles people have had - in some cases Adobe have let them downgrade to PRE7. I run PRE7 on W7-64 with very few problems (but my projects are all SD). Unless PRE8 has some 'must have' features for you, you may be better off with PRE7.

Problem in tutorial "Integrating RESTFul Web Services"

JDeveloper/ADF downloaded March 2012, JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.2.1.0 and full ADF download bundle.
I have run through the JDeveloper/ADF tutorial titled, "Integrating RESTFul Web Services". When I get to Step 3, "Test the Web Service" the application fails to deploy. The essential error is, "Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ws.rs.ext.RuntimeDelegate". I done it from scratch 3 times to make sure I was not missing any steps.
An clues would be appreciated.

- including JAR files under lib directly
- including the JAX-RS libraries from the Libraries selection.
Still getting the error about not finding javax.ws.rs.ext.RuntimeDelegate.
I downloaded the finished project from the tutorial (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_53/labs/restsolution.zip), did a rebuild and tried the "Test Web Service". I got the same error. I'm wondering if it is a problem with my environment.
