Problem in updating delta from cube to cube

Dear experts,
I created an delta upload from CUBE A to Cube B. I initialised it yesterday and did my first update. Today I did the second update from Cube A to B.
But then i found there were some problem in my CUBE A. After I reload data into Cube a. I would like to redo the delta.
I deleted the request of update load of today in CUBE B. And relauch the infopackage. But there was error message. System said the data is not coherent between datasource and target.
What could be the problem?

So u want to reload delta from Cube A to Cube B right?
The load is successful in Cube A?
Then u need to reset the delta mart and force the request to red in cube B and delete the delta request from cube B and then retrigger the delta load

Doubt on Deltas from ODS to CUBE

Hello Experts.
I have few Questions on Deltas. from ODS to CUBE
I have 3 Cubes ( X, Y, Z ) which gets Deltas from ODS ( A ) . i have extended the cube X so i have deleted data and Reloaded it. I have to do Deltas from ODS to Cubes from now on.
in the ODS manage ( there is Tick all connected data Targets to this Request is been Delted now ).
if i reinitalize the delta with out Data Transfer. will only the data which come now on to ODS( A ) will be going to cubes( X,Y,Z ) are all the data in ODS will go to Cubes.
Please Advice me.

Hi,
When you are loading the delta from the ODS, the data is taken from the changelog. These records are the + and - records generated as a result of the new data loaded and activated in the ODS. So, if there were any changes made to the existing records these will flow to the cubes as well.
If you do the init without data transfer, you need to couple that with the full load to create the initial status of data in the cubes.

What is the exact problem or error message?
If you're having issues connecting to the app store, is this the only connection issue? Can you connect to itunes store?

Try rebooting your ipad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
Go to settings/itunes and app stores, tap on apple id and sign out. Reboot the ipad and the sign back in the same way.

Updating data from PSA to CUBE

Hi Experts,
i got a mismatch between R/3 and BW reports, one document number value has not updated in PSA and INFOCUBE, that's why it is showing wrong value in BW report, i know which value and in which field it has missed.
I want to enter that field value in PSA and again i want to load the data from PSA to CUBE.
is it possible or not,
shell i do like this.

It is very much possible In PSA.
But it is not the best way to do.
Maintain that in PSA and do a delta load to the cube.

Delta from infoobject to cube

Hi All,
I need to load a cube from an infoobject. I know it is a wierd requirement. But if i create a transformation from infoobject to cube, is it possible to have a delta load from an infoobject to cube using transformation ?

Hi,
Yes, this is possible. What you should do is:
Select the InfoObject. Right mouse click and select Additional Functions -> Generate Export DataSource
Go to datasources and select the material datasource. Right mouse click and choose Create Transformation and choose the InfoCube as target. Create the rest of the rules.
Go to infoproviders and select the InfoCube. Right mouse click and select Create Data Transfer Process. On this screen you can choose Delta.

Restore failed delta from ODS to cube

Hi All,
I have started a delta load from ODS to cube but it has failed abruptly, for some reason, with out extracting even a single record.
I want to restart/re-schedule the load but I am confused how to do that(just a delta or repair/repeat delta).
Can someone please suggest how to proceed.

Error in updating data from ODS to CUBE.

Hi,
I am tryin to load data manually from ODS to CUBE in NW2004s.
This is a flat file load from the datasource to the ODS and then from the ODS to the CUBE.
In the CUBE, I am trying to populate fields by using the ODS fields.
For eg.
In the ODS, a CHAR Infoobject has the data in the timestamp format(i.e. mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm ). I need to split this data and assign them to the two individual DATE and TIME Infoobject in the CUBE.
For this, I have done the coding in the Transfer Structure in the Rule Group.
The time field is gettin populated , but the date field is not getting populated.
I get an error as Eg:
Value '04052007' for CHAR 0DATE is not plausible
Due to this, the corresponding records is not getting displayed
Also, the records where the time id displayed, the date is not getting displayed inspite of the date being correct.
Please help me with a solution for this.

SAP accepts the date format in YYYYMMDD, so in the routine where you have concatenate the day month year...just do it in reverse order.....

Problems with updating iPad2 from 4.3.1 to 5.1

trying to update ipad2 from 4.3.1 to 5.1, which is offered on itunes when I connect to my desktop computer. I keep getting message to check my network settings or try again later. My settings on ipad2 are wifi off (since I am now hard wire connected to the internet), and I checked to see if safari works, and it does, so I have internet connection. Also tried with wifi setting on ipad2 as on, with same problem. I've now tried repeatedly for over an hour, so I have a hard time believing that the server is never available. Do I have a problem with some setting? This is my husband's ipad I am trying to update --- I never had this problem when I updated my own ipad.

I'm wondering if your iTunes software is up-to-date have you checked for updates to iTunes?
Also, as iOS 7 is the latest update I'd have presumed it should be wanting to install that rather than an earlier version?

Mixed Full and Delta from ODS to Cube

Hi,
we're facing the following problem:
We're loading data from an ODS to a Cube via Delta, every night. Due to reporting needs it's
nessesary we have to write some Infoobject-attributes to the cube.
This attributes will change sometimes. To display the current truth, we have to delete the old
assignments from the cube and update them with the new attribute values.
My idea was the following:
1. Identify the lines in the cube with the old attributes
2. Delete them via "selective deleting"
3. Load the lines with the new attributes from the ODS to the Cube
4. Proceed with delta upload from the ODS.
Is it a possible way or any better ideas.

thanx for your reply. Of course we update the attributes:
For example:
Today Infoobjekt IO (Value IO-Value) has Attribute A with the value B.
Row in Cube: IO-Value, B, Keyfigure.
Tomorrow: Today Infoobjekt IO (Value IO-Value) has Attribute A with the value C.
So I have to correct the value of the attribute in the Cube.
Navigation Attributes can't be used.

I am doing delta Load from ODS1 to Cube1, delta got failed. and in the ODS we have data. i want to reload it or i want to do repeat delta .
Problem is in the ODS its Marked that request as updated to data targets. in this case how should i proceed to repeat delta. i need steps to do this.

Hi Sharp,
try to remove the mark (via ODS - manage - remove the 'mark' and update the data from ODS to the target cube again (ODS - right mouse click - check delta update option).

Data is not coming correctly through delta from DSO to Cube

HI All,
When there is change in Org. Unit, Job or any characteristic of employee then the the delta of data source picks that change records.
I have used DSO before Cube. Now in DSO active table have one record against the Employee and same Schedule hours as ECC have.
But while loading to the cube, this data of schedule hours will get added to existing schedule hours of Cube , which makes the schedule hours double for that Employee. For exmaple.
DSO Data.
Emp NO.     Date Org. Unit     Sch. Hrs
1                    ABC                              16
CUBE Data
Emp NO.     Org. Unit     Sch. Hrs
1                    ABC               16
Now Employee Org. Unit get changed to XYZ.
DSO Data.
Emp NO.     Org. Unit     Sch. Hrs
1                    XYZ               16
CUBE Data
Emp NO.     Org. Unit     Sch. Hrs
1                    ABC               16
1                    XYZ               16
I need data as it is in the DSO.

Hi Arvind,
DSO and Infocube works different for char values......you can define Key Fields in DSO...
whereas in Infocube each Characteristic value work as Key Field.....that's the reason if there is any change in any characteristic value ...
DSO Active data will not change if Key field has not change..... the newly updated Data field value will be available in DSO Active Table.....whereas in Infocube... it will create a new entry......
In order to get the updated value each time you need to explore some other options .....like complete deletion of Info cube data and full load everyday.......
Other options depends on design and data volume and other parameters.

Problems in BW Report from a Transact Cube feed from SEM BPS

Hi,
I created a Transactional Infocube in BW with 5 characteristics and 2 ratios. After that in the Planning Workbench, I Created a Planning Area, Planning Level, Planning Package, Manual Planning and a Delete Planning Function (That erase the selected register with 5 variables that are defined in the Planning Area). After that I created a Web Interface with the Web Interface Builder and everithing is working fine!!! When I execute my FunctionButton in the Web it erase the register.
The problem is that it creates another register in the InfoCube with the oposite values in the ratios and the same caractheristics instead of really erase the register. When I execute a BW report it shows registers with cero (0) in the ratios in the registers that i have deleted from the Web Interface in BPS and I want that these registers don´t be shown.
How can I do for not showing these registers in the BW report?

Luis,
When you delete in BPS, BPS does not delete the record but creates the offsetting entry as you have found. If you do not need to know if a value had been there before, you can also compress the cube with zero elimination as well as suppressing the zero record in BEx.
If you suppress zeros in BEx, the records still exist and if you further process the data/package, it will loop through all the records which may zero out and have zero effect but still take time to process. If you compress the cube, it would compact it down to 1 record or no record at all for the sum to zero scenerio. This has less records to process.

Updating data from ODS to Cube

Data is getting poppulated in ODS but when the data is being loaded to the cube there is an error which says error when generating the Update Program..
So can anyone help to solve the above problem.. its urgent...

Repeat delta from ODS to Cube.

Hello All,
The data is coming from ODS to InfoCube...
Load for 24.05, 25.05 and 26.05 is successfully uploaded in ODS (full Upload) from R/3 system.
But the load for date 25.05 failed in InfoCube due to invalid chs. in one of the field.
The infocube is Z_CAD (Delta upload) and is fetching data from ODS Z_AD.
How do I make sure that I delete the request in InfoCube. and repeat the load from ODS for 25.05 and 26.05.
Kindly explain step wise.
I also have to make sure that the data mart status is set for further loads.

Hi,
Since your data is available in ODS.
Delete the request for that day from Cube by making the request red in both Manage and Monitor screen.
Then rectify the invalid characters issue either by maintaining it in Tcode RSKC or by writing routine for it.
Then you can do a reconstruction as the reconstruction tab will available in the manage screen.

Cannot update data from DSO to Cube with further update in process chain

              This is the message am getting when am trying to update to cube by process further update with process chain.Process fails at further update with the following below message.
However at DSO level i can see the data mart status but no request at cube level.
Error Message:
Cannot update request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR in data target
    Message no. RSM1523
Diagnosis
    System checks show that request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR cannot be
    updated to a data target.
    The system checked whether
    o   request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR is already in the data target
    o   the data target has active update rules for the InfoSource
    o   the data target was selected for updating
    o   locks exist
    o   for a DataStore object as a data target, that the request was
        updated in the correct order, if the DataStore object stipulates
When i check the monitor screen under status tab it says "A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage" and under details tab "Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Data packet not yet processed "

It seems you used infopack when you select update data inot datatarget then system prompts you a infopack.That's the infopack which is generated by system being used in process chain variant to update data into datatarget.
Create new infopack/ DTP manually then use that infoapck/DTP on the process chain variant then try.
