Problem in User Creation

hi all,
"Could not create user" is the error when i want to create a new user in EP.
what is the correct procedure in order to create a new user?????

Hi Ajay,
First you should login as super administrator into portal. Because super administrator has the user administration role attached.
After you login as administrator go to
user administration --> users
here you can create the users.
You can also do it by logging in to the following url
http://<portalserver>:port/useradmin

Q3) For the Default Clients Like 000 ,066 there is no Default Users in SU01 like PISUPER....
How to Solve this Problem.

Hi Khanna,
These users are created as part of the installation. You have missed the step in which the users are created. I don't remember the exact step (did it a while ago)...
I think it was a report program you need to run... also, the XI related profiles/roles are created during the XI installation(it does not exist on the standard WebAS)...so please go through your installation steps once again, am sure you will see the missed out steps.

Portal User Creation Problem

While Creating user in Portal i am getting following error Please help
Current user has user creation permissions in the UME, but cannot create users in the back-end system (data source). The original and possibly untranslated message was: "No active writeable datasource found for user creation, check your Persistence Configuration.".

Hi,
If it is ABAP+JAVA stack, we have to create user only in ABAP stack only. We cannot create user in portal. Once we create user in ABAP stack , we can login to portal using that user.
If there is permission probelm, please assign the permission to the respective user that is " manage_all" action.

Problem with xellerate user creation

I have HRMS as trusted source in my mapping i havent mapped password field and i am able to create users. But the problem is user is not able login as OIM has created some Junk password for user. Now, is there any way i can give static password?
i tried to create one entity adapter and mapped it to Users Object. It works fine during reconciliation. but the problem here is when administrators create account directly on OIM istead of the password that admin feeds in it creates the static password which i had attached for user object.
How can i overcome this problem. Any suggestions on how to proceed with the implementation?

Ohh..
You have removed that adapter. I told you the solution as u have some other dependency also. So for you the below solution will work:
When u run Trusted recon then userid becomes password by default.
If you are using some entity adapter then it will work for both cases.
If u see then I don't think it is possible to overcome this problem.
You can create some UDF, if user is created through admin console then ask your admin to put some value in this User Defined Field.
In your entity adapter handle this case. If UDF value == null then return dummypassword else you return the same password which you are getting from password field.
In your entity adapter Java class you'll be having one method with one parameter password
In this case you can overcome your problem.

Multiple user creation in R12 and migration of users

I would like to know how we can automate a process of user creation in R12, or is there a way to create multiple users in Ebiz with respective responsibilities.
Second case is, migration of users from one instance to another. The problem out here is selective users not all?

Pl search the forums for FND_USER package - you will find several hits that show how this package can be used in a programmatic fashion to bulk create new users and assign responsibilities. Examples are also available on My Oracle Support.
To migrate user, use FNDLOAD. See this doc - you will also find hits in these forums if you search.

Problem regarding the creation of Table using CSS.

Here I have a Problem regarding the creation of Table using CSS.
In My Application i have a table with multiple rows(Rows are Dynamically added to the table).First i am setting the table with the following properties:
width:900px;
height : auto,
Overflow : visible,
Max-height: : 200px.
If I use above properties,I'm getting a table with 5 or 6 rows(height upto 200px).After that i am getting the Vertical ScrollBar.
The problem is when a table has many columns, Vertical and Horizontal Scrolls are coming at the time of setting the table. The table height is not Increasing dynamically.
How can i use "height" property in CSS? (I want the table height to be increased when the columns are more.)

Hey humble user. Errr I'm trying to understand what ur trying to do. U want to create a section of a region destructively from an existing region right? If so select the option convert to new region (opt-comm-R or selecting it by right clicking). Check your audio bin to make sure. Whats the "merge" function? Are u refering to the glue tool?

I see lot of people had probem while doing on windows, but no one tried on Linux.

New user creation in AE- user group not getting assigned

Hi All,
Here is a typical case, wherein when we create a new user with AE for the production system, the user gets created and the roles are also assigned but the user group is not getting assigned. The user group is being fetched from a table from the backend and all that is working fine. Infact in order to test the configurations we even created a new user in the production instance of AE giving the development system as the target system for user creation and in this case the user was successfully created and the user group is also assigned. The problem is arising only when the target system is production system.
Connectors are all working fine, but we are unable to think of a reason. Can somebody help us on this?

If you are provisioning the user group using user defaults, check that production system is selected in the user defaults configured. Configuration -> user defaults. You can define any user default system, but for perticuticular user defaults that is applicable define all the systems, in which you want user defaults to be provisioned.

WCS 4.1.91 Guest User creation error

When I try to add a guest user using my LobbyAmbassador operator account, I consistently get an error stating "End date can not be older than start date".
The user is a limited life time, and we are trying to set end time using calendar, setting life to 48 hours basically. Just this week I upgraded to WCS4.1.91 and WLC4400's wo 4.1.185.0.

Symptom:Cannot create scheduled guest users with the lobby ambassador because of error "the end date cannot be older than the start date"
Conditions:version 4.1.83.0
Workaround:Upgrade to version 4.1.91.0
Further Problem Description:The creation is failing because
of the difference between the server and the client times. Initially user UI's
are populated by considering server times and user selections are evaluated
against client timings. The lifetime calculated is invalid because of
difference between client and the server timings.
It looks like WCS 4.1.91 was supposed to fix this issue, so if it is still happening you should really open a TAC case :(

In your script, you need to edit the part where you select Dialog user type and replace it with User Type = A
You may need to re-record your script but this is what is causing the problem. It is expecting the single character, not the word Dialog. It's just a "feature" of CATTS/eCATTS

User creation in SRM-SUS

Hi
I am trying to use FM BBP_SUS_UM_API in SRM7.0 SUS for SUS user creation.
I am able to create user in both SUS portal and SU01 side without role selection.
If i want to assign role to user, this function module does not have input parameters to assign roles.
How to do this?
Seems like inside FM some role assigment code is done. but not from input side.
how to manage this.?

Slow user creation when an organization has approvers

Hello everybody,
Just before a month ago, I started having performance problems when I had to deal with user creation, edit and delete. Specially the user creation was extremely slow ( 7 minutes !!! ).
This "little" latency occurs only when I create users in organizations that have approvers. if there are no approvers then there's no latency.
By examining the machine perfomance at the O/S level the machine was idle.
I running idm 7.1 installed in solaris 10 with mysql 4 backened.
Any oppinion why this latency occur ?

Login to portal...
Navigate to User Admin -> Identity Management ...
search for your user...and select Account information...
there you will get "Date of Account Creation:"

If somebody can let us know...how to find "who created the user"...this will be informative for me as well......

Suddenly when I am login in Portal with J2EE_ADMIN or any user , I am getting error
You are not authorized to access this application; contact your system administrator
and when I am going to create user in identity management I am getting below error
Current user has user creation permissions in the UME, but cannot create users in the back-end system (data source). The original and possibly untranslated message was: "No active writeable datasource found for user creation, check your Persistence Configuration.".
I have searched all related treads in SDN but no success
Please help.

I was searching the community because I had this same error and there was no answer of how it was fixed. So I'm sending how I fixed today in a customer environment.
1. Go to portal http://<portal>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcsecumewdumeadmin/UmeAdminApp
- select configuration
- folder "sap system based in abap"
- do the conection test
If the test fails, log on in client 001 and change user SAPJSF:
- assign role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION (only this one) and one profile that has permission to RFC logon
- you can change the password too
STOP/START ABAP+JAVA
Go again to the portal above and test connection again. The tests should now be OK.
2. Go to portal http://<portal>/irj
- Log on with administrator user
Now you should be able to create an user.

New sap user creation

Hi All SAP experts,
My company has implemented 2 Systems SAP Landscape with one development and one production server which are running on R/3 Enterprise 4.7 (Kernel Release 6.20) with Microsoft SQL 2000 as database server.
I have the following questions regarding new sap user creation by using user copy function.
1.When I request to create new SAP User by using user copy function ,should I just create the user acct in DEV and transport it to PROD System? If yes, how could I do that?
2.When I request to create new SAP User by using user copy function, can I just create it on PROD System only? If yes, what is the impact?
3.When using User copy function to create new user acct, should I select all parts (like adress ,defaults,reference user, user groups.....) of the existing user to be cloned to new user acct?

Hi Leon,
Answer to your questions in their respective order:
1. You can create user in DEV and then make remote client copy to PRD system using scc9 t-code. Here you can choose user accounts and authorizations for the copy. ( Rem: Data will be overwritten in target system when copied).
You can also use client export/import(scc8/scc7)
But, When you do the client import from the exported files using STMS,you will have to select only one of the transport requests and then STMS automatically selects the other requests for you.
Then it will show you the different transport requests that you have created during your export, the client copy profile and the target system and client. The customizing and application data is deleted in the target client before copying for all profiles except SAP_USER. This is technically unavoidable (and hence the data will be overwritten).
So if you can afford overwritting of user data in target client , you can go with the above procedure.
2. Using user copy in su01, you can copy one user to another user only in that client and is confined to that system only. So yes, If you want 2 or more users to have same authorizations, profiles ,etc etc.. you can choose this in PROD system.
3. It depends.. If you want user to be in same group, then you can choose user groups. If you want them to have same authorizations , you can choose roles and profiles... If you want them to have same company address and others,... you can select address.. and so on.
