Problem in Workflow for Cat2 time approval

Hi All,
I am new to workflow, We need to trigger a workflow when employee fills time in Tcode CAT2. Standard workflow WS40001001 is working fine.
Here in workitem text it is displaying Approval for 00000000 instead it should display (Approval for Personal no and Name) which is assigned in standard task.Kindly let me have some idea on this

There is no standard flow for the down payment request generally in many projects down payment requests are rarely created process starts with Down payment request F-47 then Down payments F-48
then clearing of Down Payment f-54
Down PAyment request is just a template.If you want to use then use then u can skip this step.

Daily problem starting workflow for the first time

Hello,
for one of our clients we have configured an OOTB workflow which handles the routing of incoming post on a daily basis using Kofax as scanning client to to release the incoming document to SP using a workflow for routering to the proper department. The problem
we experience is that after every restart of the services, the first workflow is not triggered. After the first time, all workflows started after that are running fine.
We already tried plaing around with the SP workflow timer job, but so far with no results. Does anybody had a similar experience? If yes, what's the cause of this problem and even better, what can we do to fix this? Customer is running on a SP2010 platform.

Mitigated risks workflow for SoD detour approval

Hi All,
Please assist. I have configured a workflow for requests as follows:
Super user submits request - Workflow to Business Analyst (if there are violations they can assign an existing mitigation control) - Auto Provision
If no existing control is available - Detour to SoD officer (to compile a new control with Business Analyst) - workflow to GRC administrator to capture new control on the system - Auto provision
The problem that I have now is with the first part of the workflow wherein there are violations and there is a control in place that can be applied to mitigate the risk. If mitigate the risks associated with the request, the worflow still goes to SoD officer in spite of all risks mitigated.
Is there a way I can set this to enforce the assigned controls? Checking from RAR, the user is only linked to the control upon closing the request.
I have set Risk Analysis defaults on CUP to "Consider Mitigation Controls"
GRC 5.3 SP13
Any help will be appreciated.

For Access Request workflow, we generally use GRAC_MSMP_DETOUR_SODVIOL to implement routing rule(based on detour condition - risk found). Purpose of same (if I am not mistaken) is to through the request to another level of approver wherein mitigation monitor agent reviews the mitigation performed by role owner stage and approve/reject the request.
But, when we create a role same is not the condition as we do not mitigate role level risk thus no need to go for mitigation monitor stage. May be you have some business scenario, if you can let us know will be gr8.
For the rule ID, did you try adding the rule ID ?(you may already know, still would like to cross check with you).
GRAC_MSMP_DETOUR_SODVIOL under list of rules for "
Role Approval Workflow" In the screenshot you have shown, just click on ADD feed -
Rule ID -GRAC_MSMP_DETOUR_SODVIOL.
Rule description - same as Access request.
Rule type - Function module based
rule kind - routing rule.
Add this and check if it works and let us know the result too.

Workitem Lock problem in workflow for leave request

Hi Experts,
I am facing the strange problem in the workflow of the leave request.
We have implemented the two level approval for workflow. For the first level approval we have created custom WebDynpro application where approver approves the request and selects 2nd approver for the workflow. Here we are calling method initiate_state_transition of class/interface if_pt_req_request to change the status of workflow from sent to approved in custom WebDynpro application .
For the second level approval we are using standard approval application.
When 1st approver approves the request, workflow moves to next task, but this task gives error "Work item 000000605682 locked by user SD21690 (enqueue error)".
I am not getting why this is happening?

Hi
As you have developed a custom application for first level approver where the status of record is being changed from sent to approved.
please check what is the workitem number that is initiated. If its 605682 and the first approver is SD21690 then please make sure you release that workitem in your webdynpro application.
You must have customized the workflow to add the first approver step. Where you would be mentioning the name of the custom application in SWFVISU against your custom task.
The problem is with the workflow so please check the workflow. Your first approer is not releasing the workitem post approval and that is the reason for lock.
Vivek - this lock is not enque lock its a workitem lock.
Please revert with further questions if required.

Custom workflow for Over Time

Hi All,
I have a requirement for Over time workflow. There is no standard workflow is there for this. FC asked me to develop a screen for over time in which Reporting manager will enter the employees overtime details, when he clicks on submit button it should go for approval to DGMs inbox. If DGM approves the OT then it go for Time office where they may change the OT data or they may approve the OT.
My issue is I have created the entire flow through modulepool. I have developed the screenand program etc.,. when RM submits I am triggering an event and then WF starts. Now when the DGM receives the workitem how can I display the second screen which are having the approval Rejection and Change buttons appears, how can I write the logic inside the BO Method to call the 2nd screen?.
Can anybody please guide me how to complte this WF.

We also had the same requirement, we handled the same using Module Pool Programming and Workflow.
My Understanding: Imagine you need to call the Module Pool program to get approval for the OT.
Steps:
1. Place one work item in DGM's Inbox, when DGM double clicks the work item, write a method to call the same module pool in display or Change mode as per your requirement.
2. Now, in Step 1 use Import / Export Memory ID's.
In BOR Object Method, before doing CALL TRANSACTION <ZXYZ>. You need to Export one Memory ID say M1 with value "X"
In PAI of the appropriate module pool screen you need to IMPORT data from Memory ID into one variable say WS_M1.
3. Create two buttons on the screen keep them in invisible mode, (just check the property of the button element).
Now, write the code like IF WS_M1 equal to 'X', loop at screen, and make the two buttons visible, if control coming from workflow task, if there are more elements to control it is easy to use groups for screen elements.
4. Now, in PBO of the same screen, capture the ok_code of the Approve or Reject button, raise appropriate events, update data base.
5. Make sure your BOR method is asynchronous, other wise if the manager clicks cancel or F3 then task will disappear.

Hi Jaya,
I haven't used this particular workflow but hopefully the following is of use:
- Email to initiator- the likely explanation is that the workflow has not identifed the recipient's email address. Follow steps 4 & 5 from the Blog and this should resolve the issue.
- Cancelled Event - The wait step listens out for the triggering of the corresponding event on the BOR object.
i.e. for this workflow wait step 164 is listening out for CANCELLED to be raised on that particular instance of BUS2010020.
If this is triggered that branch of the fork will be triggered.
- Locked/Rejected - There is no step (that I can see) that notifies the initiator that the campaign has been locked.
However you can add your own Send Mail step(s). An alternative approach would be to have additional branches that listen for the BUS2010020.locked and the rejected events and then have your Send Mail steps, however this is probably overcomplicating the solution.
- Schedule condition and start condition - Again I haven't used campaigns yet but in the Blog they are using the Marketing Project Campaign BOR Object status profile and status table - look at object BUS2010020 in SWO1.

Workflow for Work Contract Approval

Hello everybody,
I need a Workflow for 2 level of approval of work contract.
Whenever a user make a work contract it requires approval upto two level.If Authority1 approves the contract it will go for the 2nd level approval to authority 2.If Authority2 reject that then it will come back to the creater to change it or withdraw the contract.If authority2 approve that then the work contract will be finally approved and complete the workflow else it will return back again to the creater.
Can some one tell me whether any standard workflow is available in SAP for Work Contract approval? Which BOR Object will be useful If I have to made custom development?

OIM 11g r2: SOA workflows for two level approval.

HI Experts,
I am using SOA workflows in OIM 11g r2. The requirement is to have a two level approval for a role (which provisions Oracle DBUM connector at present) : first for Manager and second for the Role owner.
I have created and deployed the composite with name AddAccessApproval but need to find how to use this for two level approval.
There is option for serial approval but how to pass it to Role owner.
Any help in this regard is appreciated.

App tries to send mail via Thunderbird, "PostMail error# 2" is shown. All my collegues with the same installation do not have this problem. Thanks for your time

When a external application tries to send an email via Thunderbird i get an error message, roughly translated it says: "Something went wrong with PostMail, error number 2"
My collegues have the same setup, they have no problem what so ever when sending mail via this way. Any tips would be most welcome. Thanks for your time.

PO Workflow for release strategy approval process (BUS2012)

Hi Experts,
I have configured a workflow that should get triggered by the event "RELEASESTEPCREATED" in the Business Object BUS2012.
The workflow is triggering perfectly and is working exactly as per the requirement, but the problem I am facing is the event "RELEASESTEPCREATED" is getting triggered twice.
I went to SWEL and saw that the above event is getting triggered twice by the system. I am not calling the event in any user exit. I have de-activated the event linkage in the standard workflow. Only my custom workflow link is active.
Due to this all my workitems, mails are getting duplicated as the workflow is being called twice.
I just need to know, why the event is getting triggered twice in the system.
If you need more details in the issue, I will provide that.

First off a small comment on terminology because a lot of people say this:
Events are not triggered, they are raised or published by the application (regardless of workflow). An event is the trigger for a workflow.
Now we have that cleared up, have a look at the workflows that are triggered by your events and check the container to determine the release codes for each workflow. It seems to me like you are probably processing two different release codes at the same time. This could be perfectly normal (e.g. you may want to perform two approvals at the same time) and is controlled by the MM config for the release strategy. If this is not what you want then this should be adjusted by your friendly MM people.
