Hello,
A search through this forum (you did search, I hope) reveals this answer, which I haven't tried myself:
transaction SNRO
object SWW_WIID
Anyway, please let me know which error message you're encountering.

  • Problem in Purchase Requisition Number Range (Skipping)

    Hi,
While creating the Purchase Requisition, the PR Number is skipping by 10, for example, first PR is 10000000, send is 10000010 and so on.. on the Quality Server
The same is OK in Development Server. Pls. note that I have used the Standard Number Range.
    Pls. guide.
    Regards,

    Hi,
To add on Arun's answer. The setting in trs SNRO is client independent. You should press the "display" button there (the glasses) and check the field "No. of numbers in buffer". The standard SAP setting is 10 and changing this setting is a modification to standard.
The scenario is as follows. Each time your application server needs to allocate new number to a PReq it contacts the database server, which keeps track of the number range. Even if your system (Q) is a single server system, the principle is still the same.
The point is that the application server doesn't take one next number from the database server, but 10 numbers. Next time it needs to allocate new number to a PReq, it doesn't have to call the DB server again - it merely takes the next number from the "bundle" it already got. The reason is to save time.
This works fine as long as the application server is up and running all the time - no "holes" are generated. It can however happen that the application server "forgets" the buffer, e.g. when the server is taken down (this is however not the only way). In this case, all the numbers it got from the DB server get lost and the application server takes out new ten.
As I mentioned above, this function is impossible to change without modification to SAP standard. Please consider well your business need to have the consequent numbers. Most of the companies manage with this setting.

  • Number range of manual check

    Hello Experts,
I have ordered new manual checks. The new manual check range should be 10000 to 11000. I want to know whether I can change check number range in FCHI if there is setting before, or is there another transaction to set the number range of manual check in SAP? Could anyone help me?
    Thank you in advance!
    Maria

    Hello Reg,
Thanks for your reply, you mentioned "define check number ranges" that it seems to be FCHI. My problem is the check number ranges have been defined in FCHI before, if I can change them to another ranges.
    For example:
    Now the setting is:
         Lot number:1
         Check no from:0000001
         Check no to:9999999
So, can I change them to Check from: 10000 and Check to 11000 in FCHI. If I can not change, is there any another configuration for the Manul check number in SAP?
    Thank you,
    Maria

why i am facing this unusual situation plz guide
    regds

    Hi Rishi,
This is a problem of buffering the Number Range. Go to the transaction SNRO, selecting object RV_BELEG and check whether the number range object is buffered or not. If it is buffered you will miss the numbers and it should not be the case, because the billing documents should not skip as they have got legal complaince. if the number range is not buffered and still the number are missing, it is a bug and raise a SAP note for the same.

  • Incremental number range in non leading ledger

    Hello Experts,
I have a serious problem with regard to number ranges in non leading ledger.
I have defined number range from 8000 to 8999 for document type SA. When I do a posting in FB50L, document number for non leading ledger is created as 8001. I am OK with this. But system is showing current number in use as 8099 instead of 8001. I have changed manually the current number as 8100 and posted one more document. Now document number is 8002, but number in use showing as 8199. If I post now document number will show as 8003, but number in use will show as same 8199.
Please advise me how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

Check in SNRO for numbe range object RKE_BELEG if any buffering has been set.
If yes, then go to Edit-Set up buffering and set to No buffering.
Also check in FAGLFLEXA on the last document number posted and maintain that number as the current number in number range in FBN1.
    Thanks and regards

  • How to transport number range group Configuration in Material Master

    Hi,
I have this query regarding how to transport number range group in material master from one server to another.
Problem: There was no number range assignment done for a particular material type. So, i assigned the particular mat. type to a group which had some number range intervals with the help of T-Code MMNR.
But when i want to transport this config. to other sever, it is only transporting the interval but not the assignment done to that group. In the menu bar only Interval transport option is there.
Can anybody help me with this I hope the query is clear.
    Regards
    Vivek

    Hi,
Number range objects can be transported using Workbench requests.

  • Must I open the system to setup number range buffering ?

    Hello community,
Number range buffering is disabled for DIM IDs on most of our InfoCubes, but we would like to experiment with turning it on according to the recommendations in this SDN blog :
    /people/vikash.agrawal/blog/2006/04/05/load-lots-of-data-147faster148-with-buffering-number-range
I have imported a test cube into the production system and would like to test load the same quantity of data that is normally loaded into our production cubes.
But the problem when turning on Number Range Buffering for the test cube is that the production has status 'not modifiable'
Is it necessary to open the production system for modifications each time you want to make a change to the number range buffering settings ?
If so, then this will be difficult because we transport new cubes very frequently in order to separate the data by time period.
Is there a way to change the number range buffering settings via transport, or other customization without opening the production system for modifications ?

NRIV is the table that has the number range buffering info it.

According to the doc on one of the linked help pages, you may want to look at Tran SM56.  It says it will tell you how often a load had to wait because it had to wait to get the next available number.  You might find that you are not waiting in any of your loads, in which case, this effort won't bear any fruit.
Personally, absent a specific set of instructions from SAP that indicate that yes you can transport this stuff and how to do it, I don't think I would pursue it.
Not to be negtive about this idea, but from what I have seen, the nbr range buffer objects don't share the same BID####### across systems.  This seems like it would be a very large obstacle to overcome.  I think will end up throwing lots of hours down a rat hole trying to do this.
But, who knows, if you get it to work, you ought to blog about it.
    Good luck.

  • SALES ORDER INTERNAL NUMBER RANGE

    Hi friends,
I have a problem with Sales Order Number Range  with Doc Type SO(Standard Order) its about internal number range OBJECT ASSIGNED in document type is  01
In VN01 for object 01 range assigned is from 01 to 999999 & current number range is 976832 which is about to finish ,
Help me in this regards what r the steps involved in this as while saving order its already showing a warning error that number range is about to finish your earlier help will be appreciated & rewarded.
    Regards

System will not allow overlaping of number range. As the number range is nearing to end of redefined, followinwing are the options:
    Option 1:
Set number range for number range object 01 is 01 to 999999 . Check if the number range starting from 1000000 is free or already being used. If it is free & that number range is not being used else where, you can reduce the number range in it say number range object 02 is assigned number range from 1000000 to 1999999, you amend the number range to 1500000 to 1999999 & extend the number range fornumber range object 01 as 01 to 1499999.
    Option 2:
If the following number range is in use, go to VOV8 --> select the Sales Document Type SO --> change number range object say 01 to say A1 & transport the same from Development to Test (QA) & then to Production Server. In the next step step maintain new number range (not overlaping) to say A1, number range being 10000000 to 19999999. The imapct of transporting the reauest of VOV8 transaction will be that you will have to maintain the new number range immediately & from very next Sales order, the new number range will be active.
Hope this is useful input for you.

  • Production Order Number Ranges Assignment

    Hello
    We are facing one problem
We have internal number range for  production order.
On creation System took few orders in Sequence and few it skipts and then it goes back to seq again
    1st it created 1-9
then it created from 21 -26
    then it created 10-15
    again from 27
Request you to let me kno how we can get it sequential.
In SNUM buffer is maintained as 20.
    Thanks N Regards,
    Hitendra Dwivedi

    Dear
This is because of user buffer, which system will allocate the number from numer range to each user so that there will not be any problem during saving, This is done by basis person. Just discuss with basis consumtant if you want to reduce the gap from one order to other.
This is not a  bug, this is standard. Reason for this is the buffering of number range. You can find explaination about this bahvoir in SAP note 62077, this note descripe the behavoir in general. SAP note 456777 descripe the behavoir once again for production and process orders.
Check the above notes and explore

    hi
i have one problem regarding creating custom number ranges. i want to create custom number range . i know that number_get_next is used for that but i dont know which tcodes are used for updating objects and number ranges in(NRIV ) table

    Hi,
you can maintain number ranges in transaction SNRO. But maybe you should start with [SAP documentation|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1f/8310df4bc511d189750000e8322d00/frameset.htm].
