Problem in XI/Solman

I have XI and Solman installed on one Server.
Due to some reason I have restarted the server and now all the XI related services are getting started through MMC, but while starting Solman, the service IGSWD.EXE is not getting started. I have searched on net but couldn't find any solution.
I have checked the Profile parameters also that are given in some forums for this solution.
Please help me....
Thanks and Regards

  • SAPinst problem in new SolMan 7.0 SR4

    Hi
I've downloaded Install Master for new Solution Manager 7 SR4 (51033517 - Windows/MSSQL) and I have problem with sapinst. Install guide tells that I should have options:
    SAP Systems
    -Central System
    -Distributed System
    -High-Availability System
    and
    Software Life-cycle Options
but after I start SAPinst I have only:

Is this normal or something is wrong?

  • Problems on Installing SolMan 7 on Win2k3 x64.... Instance Starting

    Hello Everyone.
I'm pretty new in SAP Installations, just finished the ADM 110 (ECC 6.0 Installation).
Now going on to test it in in a VM under Win2k3 x64 with MaxDB.
I think I did everything needed to install the SolMan.
We already have a R/3 System here, but not using any of it. I have a clean installation of Windows and first thing i wanted to do, is to install the SolMan.
Now it's hanging on Phase 31 of 51 reporting that it cannot start the Instance (here, its B01).
Here a preview of the sapinst_dev.log:
    __________Snip_______________
Instance B01/DVEBMGS00 reached state SHUTDOWN after having state STARTING. Giving up.
    __________Snip_______________
My Sap Management Console says it is started, only the Dispatcher takes a while to connect to the Message-Server, but after a few seconds, everything seems to be fine.
I tried to restart the machine, restart the installation (continue) but still nothing.
I hope I provided enough info, so someone can help me.
    Greetings.
    Jan Selucky

    Hi Jan Selucky,
Looks like you are having trouble with your virtual memory settings. In your VM make sure you have set your virtual memory (Swap memory) correctly. SAP recommeds 1 times RAM plus 8 GB for your virtual memory settings. For ex: if you are having 4GB of RAM in your windows virtual machine you need to set your virtual memory setting to 12GB.
Make the corrections if you havent doen this and restart the installation.
Revert back incase you need more help.

  • ARIS - Solman Integration : Occurence copied node issue

    Hi,
We are using ARIS - Solution Manager 4.0 Synchronization.
But, we encountered a big problem with synchronization.
    That is as follows.
For example, there is following process - process step.
                 Process                                           Process Step
        ( Processing Subcontract P/O )         -          ( Create Purchase Order )
        ( Processing P/O                   )         -          ( Create Purchase Order )
In this case, we can create as follows:
    < ARIS >
                 Process                                          Process Step                     ARIS GUID
        ( Processing Subcontract P/O )          -        ( Create Purchase Order (A) )    -  ( 8888 )
        ( Processing P/O                   )          -         ( Create Purchase Order (B) )    -  ( 9999 )
This is the way to create two process step individually by defintion functionality.
But, it's inconvenient because we must maintain the information of two process steps (A),(B) separately.
And, In this case, they have separate GUID. (They are different things)
But, ARIS supports the Occurence copy functionality.
With this functionality, we can make as follows:
    < ARIS >
             Process                                           Process Step                         ARIS GUID
        ( Processing Subcontract P/O )     -        ( Create Purchase Order (A) )    -     (  8888 )
        ( Processing P/O                   )     -         ( Create Purchase Order (A) )    -     (  8888 )
In this case, we can see this process step, "Create Purchase Order", below the two process, both.
But, That is one node physically, so it has a only one GUID.
And, we can change the information(T-CODE, Name) in only one side.
I think this is necessary and right concept.
But, when this process is synchronized to solman, following problem occurs,.
    < Solution Manager >
Process                               Process Step              (ARIS GUID)      SAP ID
        ( Processing Subcontract P/O )   -   (                                         )     -      ( ) - ( )
        ( Processing P/O                   )    -   ( Create Purchase Order (A) )     -     ( 8888 )      -  ( ABCD )
This is the result synchronized to solution manger.
That is, because process step(A) is physically one, so it's transfered to solman only once.
Exactly speaking, that is originally transfered below the process "Processing Subcontract P/O"
and moved below "Processing P/O" again.
In conclusion, occurence copied node in ARIS is synchronized to solman only once as I know.
If this is right, I think it might be a very big problem in ARIS-SOLMAN integration part.
And, I guess this could be fixed because the Solman function module for ARIS Sync.,
"Z_SOLAR_NODE_ADD", has the import parameter "I_REF_GUID", and solman support the occurence copy(Reference copy) function.
    My questions are as follows:
    1) Is it right that occurence copied node in ARIS is transferred to solman only once?
    2) Is there anybody who knows the plan of IDE or SAP with this problem?
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Best regards,
    jihyun cho

    Dear Michael,
Thank you so much for help!!!
I created customer message about this issue, either.
And I got the reply from SAP they sent this message to the development support level which will be handled by IDS Scheer.
But, I didn't get any message from IDS yet.
If they would contact me, I will check when new feature will be avaliable. And I will share this plan with everyone.
And I knew Shortcut function was newly updated with SP15 for the first time thanks to your reply.
    Thanks for your help again.

  • CRM 7.0 (SOLMAN 7.1 SP10) - Suggest Knowledge Article missing

I am configuring Incident Management and Problem Management in SOLMAN 7.1 SP10 (which uses CRM 7.0 engine).
I am getting message "There is no suggested knowledge article available"
I have already create the same categorization in both ZMIN (Incident), ZMPR (problem) and ZNAR (Knowledge Article).
Below are my config.. i still dont know what is missing:-
    Appreciate experts help.
i have followed steps as per other SCN but its still not working.
    Re: Suggest Knowledge Articles
    Thanks
    Regards
    Shahul

    Hi Shahul,
Can you please check the following
Ensure that you assign your knowledge article in the application areas of the schema (screen shot attached)
If the system needs to auto suggest knowledge article click on the specific categorization assignment block as shown below
You can then scroll below and assign the specific knowledge article(screen shot attached below) to the categorization.
If you catalog category for the schema configurations are with category type C, then the know article assignment block would be below(check next screen shot) however if the same is D then the knowledge article assignment block would be above when you click on more in your service requests incidents problems.
    As explained above(attached screen shots)
However ensure that you select the correct categorization entry and then navigate to the knowledge article assignment block and click on auto suggest(as explained above)
Also ensure that in one your above screen shots the catalog category for knowledge article transaction type should be causes as highlighted below and the same should be unchecked.
    Kind Regards

    Hi
solution for this error is as below
Oracle, SOLARIS_X86_64: Error message: found no server version
    Symptom:
You get an error message like the following:

  • Patch of SOLMAN to SPS 15

    Hi!
I ahve the problem to patch SOLMAN from SPS 13 to SPS 15.
When I try to patch them the following error appears:
Please include the CRT for ...
Can some one describe  the order of patch of components or to tell how do I get the appropriate CRT?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Hi Thom,
Here is a time table for applying SPS from 13 to 15
    1.) Make a database backup
2.) Stop CI und DB. Then change the kernel. Start DB and CI
    3.) Apply latest SPAM/SAINT patch
4.) Apply OSS Note 1075012 before continue
    5.) Apply SP13
    6.) SAINT upgrade to ST-SER 700_2008_1
    7.) Apply SP14 and 15
8.) Finally apply OSS Note 1128026
9.) If needed apply Java Stack 15 via JSPM on OS level
    Remarks:
If you are starting from SP12 then you first have to apply OSS Note 1042866. Direct after do an upgrade via SAINT to ST-SER 700_2007_1. Afterwards apply SP12 via SPAM and continue at topic 1.).
Before starting you should set dynamically the profile parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time to 3000 seconds via transaction RZ11. Make sure you have always 2.5GB free space in directory /usr/sap/trans.
    Cheers, Ingo.

    > I face this problem while installing SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1 for MAXDB on Windows 2003 . DO you have any idea what happens with my installation?*
I HIGHLY recommend not using a 32bit operating system for Solution Manager, you will run into lots of problems and issues concerning memory usage and limitations of the 32bit platform.> 08.06.11 10:21:42 com.sap.inst.jload.Jload logStackTrace
    > SEVERE: com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.exceptions.DatabaseException: [-907]: Space for user session exhausted
It seems that the maximum memory on 32bit is reached already. Decrase the CACHESIZE of the database, restart the database and press "retry" in sapinst.
This will not be the only problem you will get, use a 64bit server and at least 8 GB memory for Solution Manager.

  • J2SE 1.4.2 for Windows x64 bit download link

    Dear All,
Can any one give me the link to download J2SE 1.4.2 for Windows x64 bit architecture?
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Syed

There should be no issues with using SAP JVM from the start.
Probably no notes because is straightforward:
    - Extract the SAP JVM (e.g. c:\sapjvm_4)
    - Set JAVA_HOME (c:\sapjvm_4)
And start installation as per guide.
We have done this recently with Solman 7 EHP1 and NW 7 EHP1 (J2EE stack).
We did have issue on central instance install where the J2EE instance would not start part way through installation (server0 continually crashed and restarted with memory issues) so we had to adjust the instance settings as per SAP Note#1603093, before retrying in SAPINST and continuing.
We had this problem with both Solman & NW 7 EHP1.

  • Managed system configuration: Some required roles have not been granted

    Hi experts,
I face a strange problem in my SolMan 7.1 SPS 4:
In the configuration of managed system everything is green except the last step "Check configuration" => "Configuration Check".
    The error is:
Some required roles have not been granted to user SAPSUPPORT  (ID: MANAGED.DUAL.SAPSUPPORT)
Action: Execute step Managed System Configurationn / Create Users
    Check Context: Managed systems users/roles | Managed users/roles | SYSTEM =LSM~ABAP
and the same for SMDAGENT_xyz (ID: MANAGED.ABAP.WILYAGT).
The funny thing is that the step no. 7 (Create users) is done successfully. I have also deleted SAPSUPPORT manually and have reexecuted step 7 but no success.
Any ideas? Thanks and best regards, Basti

    Hello,
Just a thought... it could be due to a UME role that is not assigned to the user. Have you checked the security guide?? There are a couple of steps to do in Visual Admin for this use as per the guide.
    Cheers,
    Diego.

  • Solution Manager - Create Project Directory structure

We're planning to use Solution managare for BW upgrade project and would like to maintain all the documentation (like status report, project presentation, Problem log) in SOLMAN. We would like to have directories and sub-directories so that user can select the directory to upload the document.
Could some one help me on how to create directory structure at project level? I'm familiar with business scenario option. Is it only option to load document? Can I've directory structure at project level instead of business scenario level.
    Thanks,
    Milind

    Hi Milind,
You can create one more project for uploading and storing FS and TS.
If you don't want to use the buss scenario option.
For this new project select the components and from solar01 just create the folder manually by whatever name you want .say for e.g SD-pack1 ,pack2 etc.
Upload the files relevant to each module or so.
Please reward points if it helps.
