Problem increasing dates with REGEXP_REPLACE and TO_DATE

Hello all,
i'm trying to increase dates in a string with a single statement, but i ran into the problem that Oracle doesn't interpret the regex backtrace operators when they are used in TO_DATE:
SELECT
  REGEXP_REPLACE(
    'Test: 01.01.2001 Test: 02.02.2002',
    '([0-9]{2})\.([0-9]{2})\.([0-9]{4})',
    TO_CHAR(TO_DATE('\1\2\3', 'DDMMYYYY') + 1, 'DD.MM.YYYY')
FROM DUALLeads to a ORA-01858: 01858, 00000, "a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected".
However, using other functions on the backtrace operators like UPPER('\1') works like a charm. Is this a limitation of the TO_DATE function?
Is there any possibility to replace the dates in a small, simple statement?
Thanks in advance,
-sd

How should I show you an example, when it's simply
not possible? I know I mixed up parameters and
callbacks mistakenly and took the wrong approach.Ok. In your last post, you've added a question mark, so
it did look as you weren't aware of the problem.
However, I thought there was some possibility in
Oracle regex to apply a callback function to
regex-replacement like other languages have
(preg_replace_callback in PHP for example) like:Interesting. Unfortunately PL/SQL is not PHP and there's
(yet) no callback feature implemented.
FUNCTION chg_date(
p_string
REGEXP_REPLACE_CALLBACK('Test: 2001', '[0-9]{4}',
'chg_date')
...I too miss the possibility to extend the use of backtrace
parameters, maybe in one of the future versions.

  • Screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh

    Many people in the company are experiencing the odd screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh to show the updated result in corresponding cell formulas.
    Microsoft have issued a hotfix to fix the issue for Excel 2003 as shown. Microsoft released a hotfix for this problem (<a href="advisory?ID=978908">KB978908</a>). Display memory tends to pick up data from hidden sheets and pastes it
    into the active screen. No impact on the file. This occurs when protecting and unprotecting worksheets in VBA. I also suspect that enabling and disabling screen refresh contributes to this problem. In any case there is a fix, albeit with the following disclaimer:
    As of yet I have not been able to find a fix for this for office 2010 and 2013, Any suggestions would be great.

    Hi,
    Based on your description, Excel does not show the text strings when you typing. It may be caused by the cell format, if we set the cell format as ";;;" in custom format, it will not display the text that you typed.
    And the issue may be caused by the third-party input method, there are some compatibility issue between them.
    If the issue still exits, please try the following methods
    Verify/install the latest updates
    Repair your Office program

    LR 4 RC2 ...vexing problem, 3 sessions with support and still not able to find? With all settings reset and running a test catalog a raw image when opened in develop will when imediately going back to library view show a significant color shift in red, orange and purple but only in images with significant content in those colors. at first the culprit appeared to be camera calibration default but not reproducable. The problem exists even when opening older images from months ago?  Also if second screen running in loupe mode the image is not shifted.
    Any ideas please

    Jim01403, Geoff and others...I'm new here so I'll need a little time The thread is very interesting, populated by serious mature people, how refreshing! It clearly is part of what i'm experiencing and is answered answered here...thank you. My main problem is still the significant color shift between develope and library modules. I'll attach one from each so you and others can see. Unfortunately the library version is the bad one so printing is now very problematic...Note, this occurs in either single or with second monitor on the library version is displayed. I have reset virtually everything and wonder if a cache is not updating or color space is not matching? A symptom/detail worth noting, when switching to library mode, the correct image is displayed for about a second then it jumps to what you see in the examples. As if the library module starts to rendering from develope settings then jumps tback to the original inedited preview??
    Maybe just go back to 3.6 and tread water till 4.1 is fixed?

  • Problem while creating with QUAN and CURR data type fields

    I am trying to create a Z table. A couple of fields are of data type QUAN and CURR, which need to have reference table and reference field.
    Field               DataType     Length     Decimal
    TOT_QTY       QUAN            15                 3
    PRICE              CURR             16                2
    For reference table and fields, I found a Table HRPAD23 which has a field called N_QUANTITY (15,3) that matches my TOT_QTY field's data type and it also has a field called UN_PRICE that matches my PRICE field's data type. But when I use them as reference, and try to activate the table, I get an error "combination reference table/field does not exist". How do I fix this? Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance.

    Martin,
    I doubt that you need to add 2 extra fields in your table as suggested in the last post by John.
    Your error is very CLEAR that you seem to be use wrong combination of reference table and field.
    For QTY field,
    use ref table  -  HRPAD23.              ref field- UNIT
    OR
    ref table - VBAP                       ref field - VRKME
    For PRICE field,
    use ref table - PAD25                  ref field - KWAER
    OR
    ref table - T77REFDOC                                     ref field - CURRENCY
    It should work.

  • Problem download data with trailing blanks using gui_download

    Hi All,
          I am using SAP 4.6C. I have requirement to download data with trailing
    blanks.But i am not succeeded fully to acheive my requirement.I want to
    download data to be in the below format.
    Eg: 'T000000070600000004000000003593593                                               '
    I want to download data with different blanks of each record.
    For example in 1 line 18, 2nd line 25, 3rd line 22.
    I already used Hexa notation value '09'. But it is showing only 7 at once. I have
    added 3 times this field but it is showing 21. How i can i add extra space?
    I tried to move ' ' spaces also. It does't wotk. I have tried concatenate with ' ' and
    separared by ' ' also but no use.
    I have passed all possible parameters to GUI_DOWNLOAD FM.
    say  write_field_separator         = ' '
    write_lf    = 'X'
    trunc_trailing_blanks    = ' '
    trunc_trailing_blanks_eol     = ' '
    Could please tell me some one had faced same problem earlier. It is very urgent.
    Is there is any class attribute in SAP 4.6C?
    ( like cl_abap_char_utilities in 4.7 )
    Thanks in Advance.
    Basha

    Try :
    CONCATENATE  XXXX space RESPECTING BLANKS.
    Of course you must retain these parameters :
    trunc_trailing_blanks = space
    trunc_trailing_blanks_eol = space
    Hope this helps

  • Logging data with LabView and FP-DI-330

    Hi,
    I have a problem.
    I am monitoring 6 ports of the FP-DI-330, via LabView.
    I have it runing in a while loop that desides the update frequency. It then get stored in a txt file with the time in Hours, Minutes and Seconds. I need the time in milli seconds to skill betwen the diferent input times. Because the different input´s can come in the same second.
    i have added the vi file
    Enyone have an sugestion?
    Attachments:

    First of all...
    i will throw away the boolean display. But the Spreadsheet is the formation of the logfile is it not?
    I will need that to get the data nicely organized.
    I dont know how to get milli seconds displayed enywhere. If i use for example the tick count (MS) it starts with a number around 3287101, should it not start with 1 and then count up?
    "Further in your vi, you forgot to connect the current time to the Get Date/Time string. Can't you use the millisecond values for building the time-values?"
    How can i connect the current time to the Get Date/Time String? And how should i use the ms timer values for building time-values.
    file-info of the log-file? What?
    Thanks for the ideas but i could really use some help.
    I would think th
    at it could not be that dificult making a simple ms count to add to the time for every line of the logfile. But i cant get it to work.

  • Mail Server: problem configuring dovecot with postifx and virtualhosts

    Hi all,
    I'm am struggling trying to configure a mail server. I have a dedicated server running archlinux.
    I want to setup a complete mail server, ie: web access (for that I installed roundcube) and being able to retrieve mails on any e-mail client.
    I followed this guide, from the documentation but I've read that courier-imap is a lot more resources hungry than dovecot. As I could not have it working using the documentation, I tought I would use dovecot. The problem is that I am not able to configure it.
    What I already have up and running: web server (nginx) with postfixadmin and roundcubemail, postfix, mysql.
    Now, I want to be able to send and receive mails using dovecot. Could you guide me a little in order to replace courier-imap with dovecot, starting from this documentation? I already have my databases configured, a vmail user, ssl certificates and postifx configured for virtualhosts. Seems that the only thing missing is imap + smts thrue TLS.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Problems sharing internet with iptables and dnsmasq

    I followed this exactly: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Internet_Share
    And here is my dnsmasq.conf
    # Configuration file for dnsmasq.
    # Format is one option per line, legal options are the same
    # as the long options legal on the command line. See
    # "/usr/sbin/dnsmasq --help" or "man 8 dnsmasq" for details.
    # The following two options make you a better netizen, since they
    # tell dnsmasq to filter out queries which the public DNS cannot
    # answer, and which load the servers (especially the root servers)
    # uneccessarily. If you have a dial-on-demand link they also stop
    # these requests from bringing up the link uneccessarily.
    # Never forward plain names (without a dot or domain part)

    # Never forward addresses in the non-routed address spaces.

    # Note that (amongst other things) this blocks all SRV requests,

  • Problems : Starting up with CDE and Opening terminal window in JDS

    Hi
    I installed Solaris 10 GA on the system having 2.8 GHz Dual Xeon processor with EM64T.
    Installation process was fine and completed. But, I have two problems with CDE and JDS.
    Firstly, in JDS, the graphical login comes up, works fine. After I login (as root or anyone), sometimes terminal window does not start up correctly. The windows for terminal apprear, but there is no display. Thus, I cannot use the terminal in JDS, while the other menus on launch panel (e.g. StarOffice) seem to work properly.
    Secondly, in CDE, I can login, the hourglass pointer appears and changes to arrow pointer. But then, there are no items except only the pointer and wallpaper.
    Both problems do not happen at every login time. when the problems happen, I have to reboot (in CDE/JDS) or re-login (in JDS). After some rebooting or re-login, things work fine again.
    Can everybody help me?
    Thanks

    I am not Adobe staff, but I have never heard of an "online upgrade". When I purchased my CS6 upgrade  from Adobe, they sent me an email with the serial.

  • CreateInsert problem: different data to see and to commit

    Hi,
    I have edit.JSFF with master and detail tables. Master allows only edit and detail for insert and delete detail records.
    There are two iterators.
    There is button to create to create new record in detail table. This button sets some binding variables, gets current row from master table, does createInsert on detail table and fill some attributes of detail from master record. Then continues by action to insert.JSFF to provide data for insert to user.
    If detail table is emty, everything works fine but when I insert second row insert.JSFF shows data from previously inserted row even I set different data by method.
    Insert and edit.JSFF have same iterator and operations.
    I don't know how it is possible.
    Thanks for help

    I asked a question about the print with Iphoto. Larry gave some explainations but it still doesn't work. I can change the reglages with Safari, with Mail but not with Iphoto. So when I try to print photos, the reglage is standard and the result is bad. I would like to change the reglage, if i use glassy photo paper. With my PC, I have no problem to print with window or picassa. Thanks for your answer.

    First I have no idea in the world what "reglage" is

    Please help me on this
    Regards
    Saven

    Hi, Saven,
    Sorry, it's unclear what you want.
    Whenever you have a question, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
    If you can show your proiblem using commonly available tables, like those in the scott or hr schamas, then you don't have to post any sample data: just the results and the explanation.
    Always say what version of Oracle you're using.
    See the forum FAQ {message:id=9360002}
    Are you trying to see all data related to the highest (that is, latest) end_time?
    I think you want something like this, that finds all the ionformation about the employee with the latest hiredate:
    WITH     got_r_num     AS
         SELECT     emp.*
         ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER (ORDER BY  hiredate  DESC  NULLS LAST)
                   AS r_num
         FROM     scott.emp
    SELECT     *     -- Or list all columns except r_num
    FROM     got_r_num
    WHERE     r_num     = 1
    ;What do you want in case of a tie, that is, if 2 or more rows have the same latest end_time? You may need to add tie-breaking expressions to the analytic ORDER BY clause, and/or use RANK instead of ROW_NUMEBR

  • Problem posting data with HttpsConnection

    Hi,
    I am currently having problems posting data using a HttpsConnection.
    I am setting the setRequestMethod to HttpConnection.POST and then using the openDataOutputStream method.
    I will post my code when I get home for reference.
    Background to my problem - I am trying to use the declarative security features of J2EE to authenticate a mobile user.
    I am firstly firing a HttpsConnection from the mobile device to a protected resource on the app server. I grab the JSessionId from the Set-Cookie http header of the response and post a second request to the j_security_check and provide the refer http header to the protected resource - this simulates exactly what happens on a browser (I used a Http monitor tool to confirm this). However, I need to pass the j_username and j_password as body of the https request. This doesn't seem to work because the server displays my access denied at this point - as if it hadn't received the crednetials
    However, just to confirm my technique works I subsituted the post request for a get request to j_security_check and passed the j_username and j_password as request params in the URL. This worked fine and I got a 302 response 'temporily moved' which I then handle by simply making a further request for the original resource - this time it serves back the resource because I am authenticated.
    Anyway that sets the scene - so the problem definitely appears to be posting data using an HttpsConnection.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Rgds,
    David

    Hi,
    Here is my code relating to the above problem:
    httpsConn = (HttpsConnection)Connector.open("https://127.0.0.1:8443/ebank/j_security_check");
                httpsConn.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.POST);
                httpsConn.setRequestProperty("referer", "https://127.0.0.1:8443/ebank/main/mainMenu.xml");
                httpsConn.setRequestProperty("cookie", cookieValue);
                httpsConn.setRequestProperty("location", url);
                httpsConn.setRequestProperty("User-Agent",
                    "Profile/MIDP-1.0, Configuration/CLDC-1.0");
                httpsConn.setRequestProperty("Content-Language",
                    "en-gb");
    String credentials = "j_username=EB0001&j_password=240589";
                httpsConn.setRequestProperty("Content-Length",""+credentials.length());
                DataOutputStream os = httpsConn.openDataOutputStream();
                os.writeUTF(credentials);
    ....Thanks,
    David
