Problem instalation enterprize edition on pentium 4

I tried to install oracle 8i enterpise Edition
release 3 (8.1.7) ... i got autorun, when i pressed button INSTALL/DEINSTALL products, i found no respond at all.
i am using win XP. and i thought that only availble on NT/2000
but i was impressed that when i setup win2000 i found same problem .
i check to another computer which had pentium 4. and i found same problem. and i checked to another pc contain pentium 3 , and its work...
i found Oracle Universal Installer should be shown if i pressed install/deInstall.
so i realised that maybe on pentiume 4 problem with oracle 8i enterprise edition. hope solve this problem soon.

the problem with Oracle installation is not related to the processor type. I also have a P4, I was able to install Oracle 8i Enterprise on Windows 2000 Pro, then I moved to XP and found that I couldn't install Oracle. The solution was to replace some DLL files. Now I moved back to 2000 and found the same problem.
I am trying to find again which DLLs I need to replace.

I have a problem when I try to install oracle enterprise edition 10.2.0.
The installation ends and when I try to connect to the em I get no respnse from my explorer. I opened the emca log file and in the last lines it has :

I got the same issue with Windows XP then sometimes the same exe worked. But I tried the other way, you have one more setup file in install directory. Try to run that and see. It may be silly but it worked.

I've encountered several problems during the NW04 java edition installation.
After several locks, I finally discovered that the 1500 MB database log area was full. I then allocated 3000 MB and got the following error during the 'java database load' phase :

My config is a PC AMD 3500+, 2GB RAM, 200 GB HD, Windows XP SP2.
At the beginning I thought 1GB of RAM wouldn't be enough, so I added another gig but it seems <b>installing NW04 is far from being plug and play</b> (when I thought I was mad after BEA Weblogic Portal )
I started with ABAP MSSQL edition and I went through several system hangs during the installation process then I tried this downloadable edition and it's not better. Damn, my company just chose Netweaver as a BI solution ! Of course we wouldn't use standard PC as a production environment but hey SAP really has some improvements to make here !!

Problems installing Digital Editions 2.0

I've downloaded the installation file ADE_2.0_Installer.exe, but when I try to run it, it seems to start and then terminates without showing anything on screen. Running Vista Home Premium on HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (notebook). All I'm trying to do is unpack an ACSM file for EPUB book!

Problem installing extension in DW MX2004 mac edition

I run DW MX2004 under OS X 10.4.10 on a Mac. I'm having
trouble installing the Rubyweaver 2.0 extension (available from
http://rubyweaver.gilluminate.com/)
which should add ruby and rails functionality to DW. According to
Extension Manager it is installed fine but when I try to use DW I
get the following problems:
1. On startup DW throws up a warning message:

2. Rails, YML and SQL options are not present in the New

Yes, I'm having the same difficulty when installing FM Web
Studio by FMWebSchool.com. I get the [empty] "Document type could
not be added" error 33 times on application launch. I see no
templates, no dynamic page creation options.

Is it original media? The first installation disk set i received from oracle had a bad disk 2. Once I received the new set, everything was fine. You may have bad media as well.

Problem Installing Trial of Photoshop CS5 extended edition

I have been trying to install cs5 extended from the adobe website.
people keep telling me that my problem is my computer doesn't meet the system requirements but I have checked them and it does.
Also my sister has the exact same computer and she had no problem installing it.
It gets about 19% through the installation before it stops and says: there were problems with your installation.
Could someone help me please, I'm buying photoshop through my school soon but I don't get it for a few more weeks and I have an photography assesment due in a week.

Perhaps it doesn't, after all? I'm sorry to say so, but just saying that your computer meets the specs when we don't know what they exactly are is not useful in any way. Please provide the full specs and hardware details.

Why does this happen? Do you really cancel the installation or is this a potential external issue? If the Microsoft installer is cancelling itself (it is a separate pop-up panel in teh main install), then this would be further indication that something is wrong with your computer in the first place and it doesn't qualify...

Oracle 8i installation problem on Win XP pro, Pentium 4

I am trying to install oracle 8i on Pentium 4 PC, Win XP professional Operating system, 512MB RAM.
When I run setup.exe then it is silent, no response.
I installed java J2SDk1.4.0 standard edition, and Java runtime environment. It is still the same problem.
Would you please let me know what should I do ??

Well
1. Copy the entire contents of your Oracle8i cd into hard disk. The folder can be any name but not "oracle"
2. Do a find files in the local hard disk where oracle files is copied in Step 1. Look for --> jit
3. Rename the file to something like jit_old
4. Run the installer. It should work now.
But better check on web there might be some issues related to java later when u need to install java software into the PC.

Error message when installing Digital Edition

I am getting the following error log when installing digital edition. I had the old verion of DE installed and it was working fine. When I was asked to upgrade I started to get errors to install the new version.

Did somebody has the same problem? How did you fix that?

Problem with local editing after update to SP13

Hallo,
we have updated our Enterprise Portla 7.00 to SP13. Now many user have Problem with local editing. The error message is "The download of the document fail".
I know that every PC needs the "Docservice" Active X component installed. The "Docservice" is also installed.
At my PC theres only this problem with "html" documents.
What could be the problem. ?

We found that there is a problem with the Docservice Active X Component.
If we work in a deeper folder there is a problem with the length of the url. I changed the TEMP Setting
"Setting a different TEMP directory:
In cases that it is problematic to use the standard %TEMP% directory,
setting the environment variable SAPKM_USER_TEMP pinpointing to a
corresponding directory path (e.g.
X:\SHARES\USERS\xxx\CheckedOutDocuments) will be also supported. If the
access to that directory fails the standard %TEMP% directory will be
used as fallback."
I used "C:\TEMP" and now it works....... but this cant be the solution....

Has anyone had a problem installing PSE Elements 8.

I have installed PSE Elements 8 from a new boxed CD onto a new Dell running Windows 7 Professional (64 Bit).
PSE has loaded without any warnings and I get to the welcome screen OK. Organiser works fine but if I try and start Edit it just circles around back to the Edit prompt. I have tried getting in via Fix in Organiser which then advises Loading Elements workspace but then drops me back to menu.
I have tried all the Tech Note suggestions but after hours of trying am still no further forward.
I even downloaded and installed the trial version but I this performs in the same way.

The only other suggestion is try re-setting the Editor preferences as this often fixes conflicts. You will also be able to check that this part of the application installed correctly.
Hold down the windows key to the left of Alt and press the letter E to launch Explorer
In the left side pane click on Computer
In the right pane double click on Program Files, then double click Adobe, then double click Photoshop Elements 8.0
Use the right hand scroll bar to move down the list of files and locate Photoshop Elements Editor With one hand holding down all three keys CtrlShiftAlt right click on the Editor file in the list and select open.
You should see a pop up box with the words Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes
Close down Elements and re-open it in the normal way.
Please let us know if that works.

Problems Installing Oracle 8i on Gateway laptop W/ 1.6 GHz CPU

I'm having problems installing Oracle 8i on a Gateway 600X with a 1.6 GHz CPU and Windows 2000 Professional. The Install/DeInstall screen appears, I click Install/Deinstall, the screen disappears, the hourglass disappears a couple seconds later, and the the install ends without any messages. I tried installing on slower machines and the software seems to install correctly. Is there an issue with Intel's new Mobile Pentium 4 processors or Gateway's laptops?

have a look in your $ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory. If the init<ORACLE_SID>.ora file has remote_login_password=exclusive then you should also have a file called orapw<ORACLE_SID>. If you haven't, then create one by running "orapwd file=orapw<ORACLE_SID> password=internal entries=5".
This has worked for me in the past, hope it helps.

Problems installing cs3 on windows 7

Does CS3 install and work normal when installed on a windows 7 system? Some say it installed / worked just fine. Others that they had problems installing or getting it to run. Others that it depens on which windows 7 system you have. Etc. etc.
What do I have to take into account when installing cs3 on a windows 7 machine? I know it's not designed for windows 7 but I rather use cs3 then cs4.

No one yet. I'm thinking about bying a laptop which has windows 7 already installed (I think home edition), but googling I found various topics of people having trouble getting cs3 master collection to work (programs of master collection not being installed, error messages about missing windows files etc, etc.). Which version of windows 7 should I have to make cs3/cs4 work? Or should I be able to install cs3/4 on any windows 7 computer without any problems? Or should I do anything specific before installing?
I'm a little worried that I won't be able to use cs3 (which I much rather use than cs4) when I buy a new computer with windows 7.
